101  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Two for One Offer: tombstones and "be salesman" borked since BV on: 2008 January 26, 05:21:28
I also found out (since BV) that you *HAVE* to visit the owned cemetery every single time you move tombstones there or they vanish. I have never tried moving from one comm lot to another. Since the issue seems to be with the lack of saving on non-owned lots, I'd say that is a bad idea.

No, the community lot just has to be owned. I generally have servos owning them, since they are the least likely to die of all sims. The lots are free to access for all sims, no selling of anything. A grill or two and bathrooms on the lot. I never let vamps own them, simply because there would be issues during daytime visits. I rarely have the owners play the lots, as there is no reason to. I send them there when I know there are tombstones to be placed. If ghosts happen to show up on the lot while the owner is playable, keep in mind that when you try to leave the lot the owner will try to get the ghosts to leave as if they were customers, and will not leave until all ghosts are back at rest.

So does one delete the tokens before or after moving them?
105  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Two for One Offer: tombstones and "be salesman" borked since BV on: 2008 January 12, 18:08:49
Okay, finally verified that the cemetery does need to be an owned lot before moving sim tombstones to it in order for them to not vanish. Soooo.....buy up those graveyards!
106  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Two for One Offer: tombstones and "be salesman" borked since BV on: 2008 January 10, 06:02:40
BV definitely messed up sim tombstones. The pet ones still work if it is an owned lot - they were disappearing when moved otherwise. I just set up a new cemetery to see if sending them to an owned one works, as all my others are full. The tombstones in his inventory that he placed stayed no problem. I also found that when moving tombstones from a community lot, that they stay (sporadically) at the lot as well as move them home or place them in inventory, and it ends up making clones unless you load the comm lot in buy/build mode before sending a sim back to that lot.
Anyway, will let you know if the owned lot thing works shortly. I can't remember which of my sims has tombstones they can move. I have too many Tongue
107  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV problem: Can't check in on: 2008 January 09, 05:54:58
Perhaps Tunasiafish's smart doors?
108  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: 155 thousand error messages and still going on: 2008 January 08, 13:49:19
Could be, or it could be a faulty card, or slot on your motherboard. Have you tried using other power connectors? Perhaps it is that. If changing the plug you are using doesn't work, I would try a new power supply. If that doesn't work, return it and take your mobo and card in for testing. There are places that will test for free here - not sure about where you are. I had my AGP slot go on my last mobo. The rest of it was fine, so it is not unheard of.

Real music while playing the Sims is kind of... weird don't you think?  Undecided

YES!

But that is why I play in the first place, I think  Huh
110  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: 155 thousand error messages and still going on: 2008 January 08, 05:35:20
What the problem most likely is, is that you have a xxx watt power supply and you are trying to get more than that out of it. Have you added any peripherals recently? Some cards require a minimum wattage power supply (like 350 or 400). Check that info at the mfr's site for your specific card. The more things you add to your computer, the more watts it needs, so make sure you have a power supply that will support what you are running.

Glad people are enjoying it!

I haven't gotten around to the reggae folder yet, but I will upload it when I do.
112  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV problems - anyone else noticed these? on: 2008 January 08, 00:44:35
I have had the first two problems as well, but haven't checked for the third. I also have weirdness where all my knowledge vampire sims want to be a vampire after they bite someone, or if someone they know gets bit. They often have 'bite sim" and "want to be a vampire" at the same time.

ETA: I just this moment got my first Unsavory Charlatan - in my shopping hood, no less. Go figure. Tongue

Ha! I doctored him up a bit:
113  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: kids can't be taken to school in the family car on: 2008 January 08, 00:40:46
I have that problem as well since BV. I have had two kids miss the school bus, and because they were children they couldn't drive. Both lost a grade as a result. It is good to know I am not the only one, too.  Tongue
114  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Nec's TS2 Music Folder, as requested on: 2008 January 07, 12:58:46
Well, I finally got it zipped up and uploaded to 4shared. The txt file there has the playlist. I suppose I could copy/paste it here for you lazy folks...even though it will make it an annoyingly long post.
\
I had to split it into 8 volumes, and you must download them all. If someone wants just one of the folders, I would be willing to upload those. The link is: http://www.4shared.com/dir/5215700/c1c6b28/sharing.html

Reinstall BV without the patch and use YASU without a cracked exe. The patch is worthless anyway.
116  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Nightlife Install Error on: 2007 December 27, 07:06:01
Go to thepiratebay.org, search for sims 2, it is on page 3. TPB is a good site. I trust it.
117  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Nightlife Install Error on: 2007 December 27, 06:14:35
If the disk is corrupt, download a copy of it - like a clone cd or an iso image. You own it, so there is no reason to worry.
118  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Nightlife Install Error on: 2007 December 27, 05:41:56
Patching base game may help. When I reinstall, I install base game, patch, Uni, NL, patch, etc. Uni patches are included in NL so patching Uni is not required. Otherwise, I would say your disk may be corrupt. Someone else may know better, as I have never had this error.
119  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: More house levels on: 2007 December 27, 00:53:34
I have it in my userStartup.cheat file. That way it loads when you load the game. Always works for me without problems.
120  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Mod to do Pickpocketing? on: 2007 December 27, 00:21:05
Not much less than digging up rocks and bones all day for a living. I want my adults to be muggable Cheesy I thought you had considered a mugging hack anyway. That was last year sometime. Seriously cool. And also....AXE MURDERERS FTW!
121  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TUTORIAL and HACK. Hacked neighborhood deco that goes ANYWHERE. on: 2007 December 27, 00:18:03
Baaaaaaaa!!!! Very cool. The edges of the beach lots are truly ugly. I have always been annoyed by hood decoration placement.
122  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Mod to do Pickpocketing? on: 2007 December 26, 03:47:50
I think it would be cool if they had the option to do it for a living...outside of the criminal career track.
123  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Bathroom Controller: In Soviet Russia, Bathroom Uses You! on: 2007 December 26, 01:29:48
I haven't had any problems, either. I have an average of 10-15 toddlers in my hood at any given time, and BUY in every bathroom.
124  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you break an object so that sims can walk through it? on: 2007 December 26, 01:26:19
I notice that when I place things with snapobjectstogrid off, that they aren't recognized as often. Also, if it takes up two or more tiles you can turn it to an angle, and they will walk through it. The piano, pool table, and couches are great examples of this.
125  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's in YOUR Downloads? on: 2007 December 20, 20:47:54
The awesome hacks I use...the DC minus:

darwincowplant
nopedostalkers
clothingtool-globals
noinstantloves
noshockforoutgoing

I also use all of the extracted objects.
