51  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bodyshop hangs upon closing when I delete too much content on: 2005 November 10, 00:07:07
Zeljka,
It's usually not too bad if I'm creating, but the more I delete, the longer it takes to close....Sometimes it takes hours, but it does close eventually (usually)...THen there are times when I will shut it down before bed and leave my computer running just to shut down the program, and when I wake up and check it, it's still open ....those are the only times I ever do a force quit, because by that time I know it isn't going to close on it's own.
I'm wondering if it has to do with the whole cigen package being rebuilt which makes the shutdown take so long. I'm not sure about that, though, and I have no clue as to why it will actually freeze up and decide not to shutdown...
52  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who the hell do you think you are? on: 2005 November 10, 00:02:05
LOL!
I have to agree with you here....sim guests are so rude! They always make a B-Line for the electronics or tvs and they'll completely ignore you if you have anything fun that they can get to. I try to avoid buying electronic games and musical instruments for that exact matter...Kind of sad, really, because the instruments are fun normally.

This is slightly Off-topic, but since we're on the subject of Bodyshop....I've been doing a deep cleansing of my downloads folder...and suddenly realized that Bodyshop is recognizing clothing and all other files in subfolders....Is this something new that has been addressed in the patch? I know that never happened before in my game...
54  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bodyshop hangs upon closing when I delete too much content on: 2005 November 09, 22:19:41
Unfortunately, the endless scrolling has not been fixed....I hate that so much, especially with hair when I have to first click the custom content button and without fail lose my place! LOL
55  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bodyshop hangs upon closing when I delete too much content on: 2005 November 09, 21:22:30
AH, okay...Glad to know it isn't just me, though I wouldn't wish the evil hang upon anyone. Smiley
As for the question as to whether Bodyshop deletion is faster than in game, I'd say absolutely YES...Even though Bodyshop is a pain to deal with, the process of deleting custom content is loads faster than the game.  I can't stomach deleting even one item in game as, for me, it seems to take forever.
56  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Bodyshop hangs upon closing when I delete too much content on: 2005 November 09, 20:05:40
Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone else has this problem...
Whenever I do a bunch of deleting of custom content, my Bodyshop hangs upon closing, sometimes never to get to the point of shutting down.  I've left it for hours and it's eating up 50 percent of my cpu, yet it never closes.  I am a little worried to force quit since I attribute some mysterious data loss to having force quitted while having this issue.  Does anyone else have this problem?  And can someone suggest a solution, or just some kind words of commiseration?  Wink
57  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I have Simpotence on: 2005 November 09, 19:28:23
Oh, I definitely have to agree, Motoki....
I have those periods alot!  In fact, I only recently played a few days ago after my whole re-installation fiasco.  I simply couldn't bring myself to play for quite some time before that...I really wish there was a way to keep it all fresh.  I am not very imaginative, and all of my familys end up living the same types of lives, lol.  Even when I try to think up different scenarios, it ends up turning into the same old thing.  We definitely need to figure out a way to freshen up the game.
Sadly, even when Nightlife came out, I was exceedingly bored with it. I haven't played it much at all, even though it's the most fun I've had since I first got my copy of the Sims 2 awhile back.
So, I too suffer from Simpotence and feel your pain.  You have my shoulder to cry on if ever you need.   Cry
58  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife clothing disappeared...UGH on: 2005 October 29, 04:25:05
Oh crap...
It's too late since I just reinstalled everything.  That would have been great, Motoki, had I thought to check before going ahead and reinstalling.  Thank you for the offer.  As for downloads, I do have certain skins that are tagged "default" but I removed them all...So, if it was a download, it is an extremely evil one.  I'm happy to have a fresh install though, so it wasn't so bad...Now, the true question will be...once I place all of my custom content back in, will be Nightlife clothing still be there?  I have no answer for that, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.  And you can rest assured that I'll be back crying tears of woe if my game remains "broken".
I'll also be weeding my massive downloads folder down to just a semi-massive one.  Wink
Thanks all!
59  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife clothing disappeared...UGH on: 2005 October 28, 18:40:33
Okay, I just tried replacing the afore mentioned files...to no avail. Still no Nightlife clothing. The only package I was unable to locate on my Nightlife cd was the skins.package...I checked all of the compressed files and no such file showed up.
I guess it's time to do a re-install.  I just wish I knew how this sort of thing happened so that I can prevent it from occuring in the future.
Thanks again, Motoki.  As always, you've been extremely helpful.
60  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife clothing disappeared...UGH on: 2005 October 28, 18:19:25
Hi Motoki,
Thanks so much for the advice.  I will try those things.
To answer your questions...
No, the clothing does not even show in CAS or in game when buying from community lots (or the like).
This is so weird....If all else fails, I'll just do a clean re-install.  I don't really mind, it's just a bit time consuming.  I really appreciate the help, though. I'll let you know how it goes in case it ever happens to anyone else, LOL.
Thank you very, very much.
61  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Nightlife clothing disappeared...UGH on: 2005 October 28, 06:38:31
Hi all,
I've just had a problem arise.
Bodyshop is no longer showing any Nightlife clothing...University clothing is all there are in tact, but the Nightlife stuff is completely gone.
I tried removing my downloads and savedsims and restarted Bodyshop, and still no Nightlife stuff...
There are one are two meshes that are showing as blanks as well...but I don't think those are Nightlife meshes.
I'm completely baffled.  Has anyone experienced this issue?  And would someone be kind enough to suggest a remedy?
I tried looking in my sims cd to find the 3d content, but all of the file names are obscured, and they are compressed.  Plus, I don't even know if that would do the trick.  I'd be most appreciative of any help...First I lost my pork chops, and now I've lost my Nightlife clothing.  If I don't respond, you'll all know that I've put an end to this vicious cycle of woe and misery.  Roll Eyes
Thanks a bunch!

It's around 17 mbs, nectere
63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The patch will be out tomorrow... on: 2005 October 12, 21:00:43
Motoki,
You can just return the graphic config file by searching for "useshaders", changing it to false, and "vertexdata" back to true...
It worked for me...I had the same error.
Smiley
Hope that helps!
PS, I only had to edit the Nightlife version from EAGames/Sims2Nightlife/TsData/Res/Config....I left the other rules alone, so i guess it was only looking in the Nightlife folder...
64  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Path problems since Nightlife on: 2005 September 28, 04:09:00
I have had this problem, but i figured out how to get them to use the chairs almost every time.
I will always direct them to walk right next to the chair on the left or right, and never directly behind it...
It always works for me....
If i direct the sim to sit in the chair without pointing them to "run here" or "go here", it is hit or miss. But if I direct them to "go" directly next to the chair, and never behind it, it almost always works.  Even if the action is cancelled out, just redirect them to "go" or "run" to either side, and it will most likely work the second time around.
The only time it doesn't work, obviously, is when you influence someone to do your term paper or assignment...since you have no control over that sim's route, it is hit or miss as to whether they will actually be able to use the chair.  I believe it all depends on the route which they take to get there....In my experiece, that is.
Hope that helps...
-RabidAngel

Also, this has happened in my game since University...long before Nightlife.

66  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dear Boris..:) on: 2005 September 27, 03:50:12
lol, me too, Hook....I tried playing without it when I first installed Nightlife....
I immediately quit the game and threw the hack in blindly...not knowing whether I might develop a bad case of halitosis or watch my computer explode into little bits of firey chips in my haste to have a playable game...
Neither happened, I'm pleased to say.... Roll Eyes
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Vampires and Gardening...A question about motives... on: 2005 September 25, 16:59:11
Okay, I guess that would make sense then...
Thanks Azkar Smiley
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Dear Boris..:) on: 2005 September 25, 03:19:26
Hi Boris,  Grin
I wasn't sure where else to post this....
But, the manual-navigation works fine unless you're playing a Vampire....If you want to fly or stalk anywhere, the Manual-navigation does not work for them.  Just to let you know....
*edit* I just tried it again a few times with stalking, and it seems that stalking DOES actually work...at least a few times it has...but the flying still hasn't worked for me thus far..
*Edit* I was on a roll with the spelling errors....wow...edited most of them out, though there may still be some lurking around.... Embarrassed
69  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Vampires and Gardening...A question about motives... on: 2005 September 25, 03:15:27
Hey all,
I've just recently gotten Nightlife and have started playing a Vampire..
My question is this...
Are Vampire's motives supposed to go down at all at night? With anything I've done,as far as I can tell, their motives stay the same, but when I was gardening, the Vampire sim lost energy and hygiene.  Is this a bug?  For some reason I thought that motives stayed static for Vampires.
I'd appreciate any guidance on this issue...Perhaps I should have added to the thread for Nightlife bugs, but I'm just not sure if it's my own ignorance....Perhaps I am the gray mound of fatness, and not Inge. Smiley
70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help looking for 2 hacks on: 2005 September 22, 04:43:19
CyberOps,
I'm not sure if it's compatible with NightLife as I haven't been using any untested hacks since I've installed it...
71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help looking for 2 hacks on: 2005 September 21, 09:08:42
Here's the link to the "sleep anytime hack" at MTS....

http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=39717&highlight=sleep+anytime+hack

THat hack was made for me! LOL, i requested it and Obtainchi made it....and that's about the only time that's ever happened for me. LOL...so i'm feelin' exceedingly proud. Point and laugh at me if you will.  Grin
72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Missing Karaoke Singing - Patch Available! on: 2005 September 21, 00:34:46
Heehee, I didn't know that not hearing the singing was a bug...I was sorely disappointed that I couldn't here the singing though, but i thought that Maxis had just made it so there was music but no singing! Thanks for the link AncientSim..I'll be testing it out promptly.

74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The No Pork Chops Eyeshadow? on: 2005 September 20, 05:23:36
Yes, i had the same problem....I actually started a thread at varioussimmers awhile back, and someone pointed me to the exact name of the file which fixed my missing pork chop issue...That thread is no longer there for obvious reasons... Roll Eyes
And it was indeed categorized as eyeshadow!
I have no further information as to the hows or whys this may have happened, however I wanted to lend you a shoulder to cry on and let you know that you are not alone in your pork chop crisis. Wink
