151  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Uni troubles - borked SS and then some... on: 2007 July 03, 16:29:51
Do you actually have my fix in place, or anything that affects secret society lots?

ETA:  It's been so long since I looked at that hack.  Maxis EA actually got something right for a change when they patched it Roll Eyes [Of course they screwed it up the first time they actually coded it Tongue].  They basically used the same idea I had, storing the amount in a lot token, and swapping it out, albeit their code was slightly more efficient (for a change Shocked ) since they actually reused the same token.  [I coulda done that too, but I didn't want to, so nyah. Tongue]

Anyhew, I backported those changes, and if you look at the description, the hack is actually for OFB v1.0p1 or older.  This is because OFB v1.0p2 or later should be patched correctly.  Now... this isn't to say that it will actually fix your problem, as your problem might be unrelated.  If you are getting some weird error due to lot bugginess or non-awesomeware, then I'm not sure if the hack/fix will help.

I recommend making a backup of your Neighborhoods folder.  Then try installing the hack/fix and see if this helps.  If you still get an error log, post it again, and maybe we can see if it's the same error.  Unfortunately, I am at teh hubby's place, probably until late Thurs night, and I don't have access to my own 'puter.  Even when I get home, I probably won't have time to look at it until the weekend. Undecided

ETA2:  Edited to make it a bit more readable. Tongue  Plus... I actually read your post the 3rd time around (I kinda just skimmed it the first couple of times heh) and noticed that you tried to "donate" your sim's money?  In what way did you try to do that?  Prior the the OFB 2nd patch, SS lot money handling was pretty severely borked.  The game tried to swap out your current sim's home lot funds with the ss society one's.  If there are none, it is supposed to automatically generate some "starter" funds (something like $37k or what not.  Seems to be some arbitrarily chosen number).  When you went back home tho, the game kinda screws up trying to swap your funds back.  It didn't save the original amount that your home lot had, so you end up with the sslot funds (or something like that).  The game also had an extra, stupid (or is that "extra stupid" Tongue) BHAV that tried to resave the funds every time you went in and out of buy mode.  This function is like crappily borked.

I guess it was an attempt to curb cheaty type things or what not, but it kinda screws up the ss lot funds.  Can't remember the exact details, but I just recall spending several hours tearing my hair out trying to figure what was going on exactly and why this stupid bhav was even necessary.  It wasn't.  Tongue  In my fix, I disabled it, and used lot tokens.  Funny that Maxis EA patch pretty much came to the same conclusion (they also deprecated that bhav, used the lot tokens smartly, and even had the forethought... or is it hindsight Roll Eyes to create new functions to test if there is more than one sslot in the neighborhood, since theoreticaly, you could add more than one Uni subhood to your game... although doing so, without SaraMK's clean or empty templates and Pescado's antiredundancy and noregen hacks would most assuredly lead to a BFBFVS Tongue).

Anyhew... my recommendation Now, after actually reading your post... is reverting to a backup before you added Academie... or if you were lucky/smart enough, after you just added Academie and created the YAs and what not, but before your sim got abducted by the YAs.  If you can go back to that point, then I would try installing the fix and playing from that point on and see if you still have any SS lot problems.  Again, I'm not sure if it will actually fix it, but the only way to know is to sorta just test it out. Undecided

Great table, but I think for the last option (everyone can do everything), when you use ACR, the teen/adult attraction fix would be advisable too?

Actually yeah, that fix would be advisable to anyone who uses ACR or Woohoo Teens, or both (which I do).  The Inteenimater kitten killer has it built in already, I believe.

Anyway, I had my first teen woohoo want yesterday, while my sims were on a date.

Awesome.  I'm glad it seems to be working for you.  It's funny, my sims must be super horny, because they're always doin it, even when I don't want them to.  I gotta keep a watchful eye.  I know I could probably solve it by tweaking their autonomy options and such, but 1) I'm lazy Tongue and 2) I don't really want to stunt their autonomy, I just wish they'd be less cheaty when I have them already coupled.  But they're all determined to be slutty sluts! lol. Cheesy

Hi Ste. Did you also update teenenabledwoohoowants.zip ?

I did update it a couple of days ago (6/27).  That should've been the 1.04 tweak to the Go Steady want that should make sure it the want only shows up for adult sims when appropriate (i.e. they are not already going steady, engaged, or married).

The only additional things I did now was create the separate hack to disable them, for those who don't want the go steady for adults part.

Let me know if there are any problems.  I'm pretty sure I updated the .zip attachment, but in my haste, I could have updated the text/post only and forgot to actually change the .zip file.  Roll Eyes  The time stamp for most recent version of teenenabledadultwants.package should be 6/27/2007 10:40 PM (EDT).

psst, your last two entries on the left side are identical

...good catch, thanks for that! Wink

Curious morague, but do you have your Restaraunt Meals at Home Series posted anywhere else?  I don't recall if you have your own section on the Insimenator site?  I think I got the original versions from Squinge's section, but I don't want to have to go back there to sift through all the heaps of threads. Tongue  I tried downloading the updated versions on MTS2, but it is giving me a stupid server connection error. Angry

I hate to be a demanding cunt (actually, I don't hate it really. Cheesy) but would you be so kind as to possibly upload/attach the files here in the Peasantry as well... or link me directly to where ever you might have your own section?  I know there are a bunch of other sims sites that kinda spawned off of here (laverwinkle? sudden sallow or something, dinnerbell, etc. that sorta had a loose connection to MATY, but I'm just too lazy to keep up with a bajillion sites Roll Eyes.  If it's not too much trouble, that would baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... be great! Since you put the check tree into the teenenabledadultwants, I installed that too and although the families I played so far are not very good for testing it, it appears to be working to control the go steady wants.

I guess I could use the updated adultsgosteady hack instead, because adults and teens are unlikely to roll wants for each other without a complementary hack that attracts them to each other. But who knows, my sims have surprised me before. I see what happens.

I'm probably making it confusing for people now that there are like all these cross dependencies... but I am just too lazy and don't want to make separate versions of the WantTrees.package for 3 possible different scenarios (i.e. for those who only want Woohoo wants for teens, those who only want Go Steady wants for adults, and those who want both).  I can't think of an easy way to do this, without having to go back and edit the WantTrees.package and make 3 different versions for each EP/SP.  That is just too much work.  Hehe. Tongue

Instead, the next best thing I could do was have the wants controlled by the want check trees.  So for each situation, you now may need a combination of hacks for those who:

ScenarioRequired Hacks
only want Woohoo wants for teens and only between teens
you need the WantTrees.package to enable the wants to show up in the first place, the new zadultsdisabledgosteadywant.package to disable the Go Steady want for adults, as well as one of the hacks that actually enables the interaction (i.e. Woohoo Teens, the Inteenimater kitten killer, or ACR).
only want Woohoo wants for teens and between teens or teens and adults
you need the WantTrees.package to enable the wants to show up and the teenenableadultwants.package to enable the wants to be valid between teens and adults, the new zadultsdisabledgosteadywant.package to disable the Go Steady want for adults, as well as one of the hacks that actually enables the interaction (i.e. Woohoo Teens, the Inteenimater kitten killer, or ACR)
only want Go Steady wants for adults Note: woohoo wants may still show up for teens, but you will not be able to fulfill them unless you actually have a hack that enables that interaction.
you need the WantTrees.package to enable the wants to show up in the first place and a hack that actually enables the interaction (i.e. my adultsgosteady hack or the Inteenimater kitten killer).
both Woohoo wants for teens (but only between teens) and Go Steady wants for adults
you need the WantTrees.package to enable the wants to show up in the first place and one of the hacks that actually enables the interaction (i.e. Woohoo Teens with my adultsgosteady hack, the Inteenimater kitten killer [enables teen woohoo and adult go steady], or ACR with my adultsgosteady hack).
both Woohoo wants for teens (between teens or teens and adults) and Go Steady wants for adults
you need the WantTrees.package to enable the wants to show up and the teenenableadultwants.package to enable the wants to be valid between teens and adults, as well as one of the hacks that actually enables the interaction (i.e. Woohoo Teens with my adultsgosteady hack, the Inteenimater kitten killer [enables teen woohoo and adult go steady], or ACR with my adultsgosteady hack).

Hopefully this table will be somewhat easy to read and understand.

:!:  Note:
Use the zadultsdisabledgosteadywant.package hack if you do not want the Go Steady wants to show up for Adults and older.

This is for players who want all the benefits of having woohoo wants enabled for teens, but do not want to enable "Go SteadY" wants for adults.

For those who do want to enable "Go Steady" wants for adults, the check tree has been rolled into the latest release of my adultsgosteady hack.  This was done for those people who only want adult go steady wants, but exclude any other changes to the check trees.

ETA:  The Go Steady want check tree is already included in the teenenabledadultwants.package for those who want both adult wants for teens and go steady wants for adults.  Hack compatibility may report a conflict, but it won't matter as they contain the same changes.  If you want to enable the Go Steady wants for adults, you must use a hack to enable the interaction for adults as well, such as my adultsgosteady hack or jase's InTeenimater.

v1.10b- Added Go Steady check tree. Requires Teen Enabled Woohoo Wants.

This was only updated for NL and later EPs so far.  This is because I have not yet gotten around to making a compatible version of Teen Enabled Woohoo Wants for the basegame and Uni.

ETA: The Go Steady want check tree is already included in the teenenabledadultwants.package for those who want both adult wants for teens and go steady wants for adults.  Hack compatibility may report a conflict, but it won't matter as they contain the same changes.  These changes provide checking to ensure that they wants roll up only when appropriate.  However, it does not actually enable the want to show up.

If you want to enable the Go Steady wants for adults, you must use the teenenabledwoohoowants hack that contains the WantTrees.package in order for the wants to actually roll up for adults.  That hack only enables the wants to roll up and does not actually enable the interactions.  If you also want to enable Teen Woohoo between teens and between teens and adults, then you must use a hack to enable woohoo for teens such as: Woohoo Teens, the InTeenimater kitten killer Tongue, or Autonomous Casual Romance.

Why didn't you put a small lake on the lot, so he could make money from fishing?  His first day's pay would have covered the cost.

Well... if you wanted to go the smart route, I suppose you could have thought of that (you meaning me = i are not smrt Tongue).

I guess I'll try that next time...  I actually have two sims that also ended up with very few funds after graduating.  Both around $1k.  So, one of them could afford to buy a small lot, and then I combined households so they would have a bit more money (not much tho).  Right now, they don't have any furniture, as I have yet to play them since moving them in.  Perhaps I'll do the fishing thing and see how it goes.   Does the water have to be a certain depth and/or size (length/width)?

P.S.: I also do not use woohoo teens, only ACR and do not have teenage/adult relationships or other hacks related to it.

P.P.S: The ability to read is really an advantage. I intentionally did not download the teen enabled adult wants hack, because I did not need it (see above). Maybe I should try it with both files, however.

Ahh... I see.  I can understand how totally confusing my post can be.  I'm sorry for that.  There are actually two separate... but related hacks here.

The teenenabledwoohoowants.zip (which, at the moment, can only be found on MTS2, due to the file size attachment restrictions here).  This file contains the WantTrees.package which must go in the appropriate Wants folder for the most recently released EP/SP you have installed.

That hack should enable woohoo wants to actually show up for teens... and I now recently added the Go Steady wants for adults.  So... actually is my fault that the Go Steady Wants are running rampant in your game.  As these wants actually now depend upon the Want check trees, which are found in the teenenabledadultwants.zip file.

This second file (teenenabledadultwants.zip) contains the hack named teenenabledadultwants.package which can go in your regular Downloads directory (or sub directory within that folder).  This file contains the check trees, which typically test to see if the want is valid for the sim in question.  However..., since the Go Steady want normally isn't enabled for adults or older to begin with, it doesn't bother to check age (it assumes that it will only be for teens).  Thus, the original Maxis EA code for Go Steady check tree does not check if a sim is already engaged or married (since this would not even be a possible scenario anyways with the original code and WantTrees.package).  So... because I added that, you now need the teenenabledwoohoowants.package, which I updated to include checks for being engaged or married.

What I will (need to) do is:

1) Add the Go Steady check tree to my Go Steady for Adults hack.  This seems logical since... if you have that hack, it only makes sense to also have the want enabled.

2) Create a new, separate file that disables the Go Steady want for adults, for those people who want to use the teenenabledwoohoowants without the Go Steady wants for adults.  Since people play their games differently, and they may want teenwoohoowants but not adult go steady wants.

I'm not sure if I will be home tonight, so this may have to wait until later this weekend.  Sorry about that.  I was just silly to assume that everyone would want to use both files (teen woohoo AND adult wants).  I forget that everyone is not me.

Hee hee. Cheesy

Yes, making backups, multiple backups! even, is a very good idea. Wink

I always backup before doing anything major, like installing a new EP/SP or even before patching (well... sometimes, if I can be bothered Tongue).  I also try to do a backup at least once a month... or if some major event in my game occurred (births, LTWs, marriages, graduations, etc.) that I know I definitely want to "commit" as a permanent change to the 'hood overall, I will do another backup.

Since you have a backup handy, going forward, you should stick in those noregen and antiredundancy hacks.  Then, use the clean or empty versions of SaraMK's uni templates, and follow her instructions to the tee.  It worked excellently for me.  I added the other 2 Unis (La Fiesta Tech and L'Academie de Tour... since I already had Sim State in there) using the clean versions, and the only additional sims created were the Maxis EA ones I had been expecting.  No additional Uni NPCs (I still had only 24 profs, and the appropriate number of mascots, cheerleaders, coaches, etc.)

Because yankees are lame and don't have DVD-ROM players.  :p

I was almost gonna venture a guess to that effect... the possibility that most of middle America (middle physically and economically) might still be sticking to their older machines?  But... if anything, I would also figure that more and more people are buying computers nowadays, with the majority of computers probably having been bought in the past 5 yearsish or so... so haven't DVD-ROMs pretty much come pre-packaged with machines since then, or even earlier?  I would say that in the last 10 years, no? And more recently DVD burners being the new standard.

On the flip side... how do you rude peons Tongue afford shiny brand new 'puters what with your huge taxes and nearly double the price in goods, considering everything awesomesauce really comes out of this here Yankeeland. Cheesy  Must be all the money you save on not tipping. Wink

If you attach Riverblossom as a Suburb (OFB sub-hood), yes, it will become the next N001_Suburb00#.package.

As for making the template empty of townies/NPCs, I will be uploading one soon, so you might want to wait for it. It's a bit complicated to make a townie/NPC-free one yourself.

Wheeee!  By townie/NPC-free, you mean a "clean" version that still includes the Maxis EA playables and any non-playables (townies and NPCs) that they know, right?  By this I mean, clean of all the other ones, but keeping any "custom" townie/NPCs that may have been interacted with for whatever story purposes.

@Rich:  Looks like your hood is boned.  If you have a backup, before you added the Unis, I would go back to that.  Alternatively, if you were starting from scratch anyways and/or don't care about any sims you've already played, I would just start over again.  Clean slate.  Using the clean templates to begin with, and have all of those noregen hacks from the get go, as you first "initialize" your 'hood and it's various sub-hoods.  Then... after that, you can take out the noregen hacks if you actually want sims being generated.

The whole point of the "Deleted 2" process being long and complicated is pretty much to be thorough, cuz otherwise, you're liable to end up with borked sims, especially when it comes to dangling swafs and what not.  If you want to be absolutely sure your game is "clean and safe" so to speak, Deleted 2 seems to be about the only way to go.

but if I use the deleted 2 thread will it just re spawn them? and how do I know it won't re spawn 82 more

If you have the noregen hacks in place, they shouldn't respawn.  antiredundancy should keep at least only 1 of each type of "necessary" townie/npc.  24 (or so?) profs must respawn regardless, as the game requires at least 2 profs per major.

Hrm... I dunno what it is about your playstyle Hookins!  With little effort, I managed to have at 6 sims graduate Uni well under 1k.  Yes, that's right, 1K!  Probably because I bought a buncha junk for their individual dorms, and when I got around to gradumacating them, I forgot to sell stuff off or at least put it in their respective inventories. Tongue

Well... I don't know if it's little effort, but maybe just as much effort as you could put into building a sims grade.  For many of my YAs, I don't have them study or do assignments unless they actually want to.  Generally, I may allow them to go to class on their own, if I there aren't any other things for them to do.  If they have other wants, I have a tendency to cancel them out of going to class so that I can satisfy those wants instead.

Still, I would hardly say that it takes more effort to have sims graduate with low GPAs or little to no money.

Funny though... one of my sims barely had enough to scrape by after graduation.  I had him buy a 2x3 lot and I attempted to have him live with only the bare necessities.  It worked out for a little bit.  Just a bed and a phone to sleep and call up for food, with a counter to place his pizza on.  He couldn't afford enough loot to buy walls for a terlet.  So I bought him a bush instead, and fortunately had my own tweaked version that allowed him to pee on bushes. lol.  He even managed to get into his dream (LTW) career track (Culinary).  But after a few days, he lost his job to a chance card.  He was despressed and he was sweating, as the summer heat battered him down (he was living in Bluewater Village where I set summer to be 2 seasons long). Tongue  He was too bummed to go back to work, his funders were quickly dwindling, and he even passed out due to heatstroke.  I had enough loot to buy a showertub, and I hoped that showering would cool him off... but it didn't. Roll Eyes  I was worried that he was gonna die, possibly due to spontaneous combustion or whatever, and... since he was living alone, there would be no one to save him!  So... since, I didn't want to lose him to death... yet... and I didn't want to have to resurrect him elsewhere, I broke down and had his family send him funds via money order. Tongue

Now he's living somewhat comfortably and will probably manage a lot better.  Still a small, minimalist household with only bare essentials right now (bedroom with bed, bathroom with terlet and showah, kitchen with sink, fridge, and stove - no wallpaper or flooring and no form of entertainment really).  Hopefully his brothers will fare much better when they graduate. Hee Cheesy

As for on topic... I thought about it... and:

$300 dorm bill seems almost purpose defeating considering that private housing doesn't cost that much, and dorms are supposed to be cheaper!

This actually isn't always true.  A couple of my friends managed to find places to live "off campus" (well, we didn't really have a campus since it was pretty much the city) which actually worked out to being cheaper than the cheapest, crappiest dorms.  I mean, if you find a decent apartment and split it with a roomie or 2, you may pay as much as 600$ a month, whereas living on campus could cost you about $1k+ (and then a meal plan on top of that) a month in some dorms/campus housing.

Anyhew,  I was wondering... instead of a flat fee for all students, is there way to add some multiplier so it's sorta based on dorm/lot size?  So... maybe bigger dorm lots cost a bit more to live in than the smaller ones.  It's probably not that great of a factor to go by, since some of the smaller dorms actually have roomier dorm rooms, but with larger lots, you have more room for stuff and things to do.

Ste
167  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Living expensive on: 2007 June 28, 16:47:59
The rest of it just lets the game calculate the normal bills, then multiplies that amount by 3 or 5 - or you can change it - however - it is global, so it will affect all lots - even the rental & frat lots.

Neat idea.  What decides whether you multiple by 3 or 5?  How about it depend on the number of sims in the household?  It sorta stands to reason that, the more sims you got living in the same household, the more resources you may end up using.

And then maybe throw a bit of randomization in there, like +/- 1 to your multiplier, so ultimately your multiplier would be N +/- 1.  Or whatever you think would be reasonable.

Also... regarding dorm billing, does your hack already include whatever "fix" is part of the dormbillfix?  I don't even remember what the dormbillfix is supposed to do.  I just figured, it has fix in the name, so I better use it. Tongue

If the fix isn't necessary, I assume then that we can safely use your hack in lieu of the dormbillfix (if they conflict, which I vaguely recall reading something to that effect?).

ETA:  I just looked at your thread now and see you made separate versions.  Duh me.  heh.  So nevermind that part, but I still stick with my suggestion of having it random and/or depend on # of sims in household.  If you wanna get even more complex, you can possibly ignore babies, count toddlers and children as 1/2 a person, and teens, adults, and elders as 1 each.

So your formula could be something like:

new bills = [[ ( #of babies * 0) + (( #of toddlers + #of children) * 1/2) + ( #of teens ) + ( #of adults ) + ( #of elders)] + random(+/-1) ] * regular bills

Update 6/23/2007

v2.00 - Added code to handle Young Adults on non College Lots and vice versa (other ages on College Lots).
Included option for service sim in "with choice" version.
Also renamed the hack so that it is actually spelled correctly now. Tongue

Please read the first post (or README) for details about the new features.

I have kept the older versions (as v1.01) as the new features of the 2.00 version are somewhat experimental.  At the moment, they are untested, and I am solely relying on the "logic" of the code, assuming that it should work as described.  So please bear that in mind, and report any problems, preferably with error logs if possible.

ETA:

Back to the drawing board. Tongue  I finally had time to test this in game, and it looks like they abstracted the bhav used to populate the array of dead sims to choose from into Lua.  As such, the changes I made actually don't do anything.  Until I can figure out how to get this working, I am removing v2.00 since it is pretty much pointless.  Sorry to get yer hopes up.  I blame stupid Maxis EA for leaving in old and unlinked code.  It's often hard to tell from the spaghetti mess what was unlinked and no longer being used (at least until I actually sorted the code. Roll Eyes

ETA2:

There's no "harm" in keeping the newer version in.  Basically it will just be slightly larger than the older version... however, since I'm lazy... I don't feel like backporting the other change for the with choice version.  So... if you actually want to keep that option (to change a sim back to a service sim), you should keep the new version.

Wow.  That's... interesting.  I'll have to take a look at the hack.  I'm assuming you have both hacks in (The one that overwrites the WantTree.package and the teenenabledadultwants.package that goes in your Downloads directory).

Do you have Celebration! Stuff or H&M@ Fashion Stuff?

I'll try and take a look a bit later this evening.

ETA:  I updated the Teen Enabled Adult Wants hack.  I tweaked the Go Steady Want check tree.  Please update and let me know if this fixes the problem with sims rolling up wants for going steady.  It should now check to see if a sim is already engaged or married and if so, prevent the want from showing up.

I'm still looking into the woohoo want thing for teens.  I'm gonna do a test run now.

Ok, just did a quick test run.  I managed to get a woohoo want after having a sim ask one of his lovers out on a date.  I probably would have to do more testing, but it appears to work.  Hopefully it isn't only isolated to just dates.  Want Trees are kinda funny.  Woohoo gets triggered usually after making out, so you'll have to actually get on that "path" to have the wants satsified, from flirting, to kissing, to making out, and then woohoo.  Other woohoo wants, like the number related ones, usually roll up after having achieved X number of woohoos already.  Like woohoo 5 sims come up after you've done woohoo with 3 sims, and so on and so forth.

Teens are also kinda funky because pretty much one of their want slots is deadlocked at Go to Uni, so you're kinda crippled that way. Undecided  Otherwise, it's pretty much sadorandom luck.  My test teen (that I've used in these pics) used to get woohoo wants a plenty when he was first rackin up the make outs and dates.  But lately, he's just obsessed with wanting to dance with his lovers and that dumb, stuck Go to Uni want.  After multiple rerolls using the lot debugger, I grew tired.  I attempted to have him go out on a date with one of his lovers, but he only found her "meh" when I had him check her out.  So, he wasn't even rolling up regular flirty wants for her.  Just crappity go out, dining, and play games (bowling, cards, etc.) which is mostly my fault, since I actually bought those things for that household Roll Eyes  Anyhew, I finally managed to get the woohoo wants to roll up after asking out a 2 bolt lover.  I finally got down the flirt path to make out and then the woohoo wants rolled up. Smiley

Of course, this still needs some playing around with, to see if they will roll up at other times.  But at least we know that it works for dates.

Doh!   That's what I get for trying to do a quick and dirty job.  I kinda just slapped it together and I forgot to declare the local variable. Tongue

Please try now and let me know if it works this time.

Thanks for the error log Jordi.  Right now, I am uncertain what the problem is... I looked at the code, and the node that it is supposedly throwing up on doesn't quite make sense.  So, I sorted the lines in the BHAV.  Next time you get an error, please post a new log.  I'm hoping that, with the sorted order, I can get a better idea of whether it is actually choking on a line that I modded, if it is a call to another BHAV, or perhaps some undeclared variable that I just can't seem to find in the original spaghetti mess. Tongue

Anyhew, y'all get 3 updates for the price of one. Cheesy

For the zhottubhack, I tweaked the code slightly, and added some randomness, which would hopefully let sims stay in the hot tub a little bit longer.  Originally, sims were exiting either as soon as their comfort and social were very high, or if their energy, bladder, or hunger were very low (- 60-80 range).  I added a check to see if Fun is maxed out.  If it is, then sims will have a random chance of staying in the hot tub (Pleasure 50%, Romance 40%, Popularity 30%, and Wealth 20%, all others will still get out).  If fun is not maxed out, then the social gets checked.  If it is above 90, then the same randomness occurs based on Aspiration.  If it is below 90, then the game will check if there is more than one sim (other than the sim itself duh Tongue) and they will stay in.  If there are no other sims, then the same randomness as before (since theoretically, other sims could join them).

For the gardenfitnessbodyandfunforsome hack, I found the orchard tree globals, so I added Tend, Harvest, and Spray.  Theoretically it should work, but so far remains untested in my game, as of yet (I don't have any gardens, plots, or orchards).  Two known issues:

1) the reported bug conflict causing jump bugs, as I mentioned above.  I still need to track it down.  Please try the new version and post any error logs you might get.

2) the other reported bug, where using <Interaction> Many (i.e. Spray Many..., Harvest Many..., etc.) doesn't work properly.  I am not quite sure why this happens.  Theoretically, the skill bar should start and stop after completing the singular interaction on one object, and when the next interaction on another object starts, the skill bar should be started again.  Undecided  I will have to look further into this... but, if it isn't necessarily breaking anything (meaning, your sims don't have problems skilling on other objects later on), it will remain a low priority for me.

Finally, for the nopartyresearch hack, I found two more BHAVs that are on the bookcaseglobals themselves.  So, I've added the changes to those.  Hopefully this should reduce the party research by visitors.  As always, feedback is welcome. Smiley

I haven't toyed around with gardening much lately.  Any error logs?

Also... I'll try and take a look at that bookcase when I have the chance.

Er, but in the very first post in the thread, it says

Quote
Future Features
1) Incorporating the new careers from the Lies and Propaganda: Seasons Edition Wink
2) Less restricted version that does not require specific majors to enter a career track

Which is why I asked about it.

Uh... true, but that was so long ago.  Since then, I've decided that it isn't worth the trouble to create and have to maintain too many different versions. Tongue

I've now updated the first post to reflect that.  Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Grin

I suppose eventually I will find a tutorial that will make editing BCONs make sense to me. The earliest stage of my learning curve for new tasks in SimPE is so steep it's a wall -- once I've gotten past the part where I have to be hit over the head repeatedly to actually learn the new thing, I usually have no trouble at all, including being able to improvise safely from what I've just learned.

Well, I would like to think that my how-to instructions are fairly simple and thorough enough to follow along, complete with pictures.  You could experiment and follow along with that.  The chances you would need to make are only to BCON values, and if you stick to using valid values, it shouldn't blow up anything in your game.

Incidentally, I updated the how-to doc, cuz it was missing a picture.  Plus, I moved the pictures into a subfolder on my photobucket account, so you will have to update since the old links won't work.

This "boy" was severely screwed up, too. He had a girl's voice and the hair and clothing would randomly switch around -- sometimes male clothing and hair would be available, and sometimes female.

Wow... that's kind of a weird and sorta cool glitch.  Maybe Maxis EA is like really pushing the "Queer Agenda" with secret, sneaky "bugs" like this. Lol. Cheesy

Maybe your sim, s/he was trying to tell you something in a not so subtle way:  "Mommy... I think I wanna be a boy..." Wink
