1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The "Where Can I Find This CC?" Thread - Because you fail at Google on: 2014 October 19, 11:29:15
Does anyone know about a mod that would auto-greet passers-by?
I'm looking to make my zombie apocalypse deadlier by having zombie passers-by barge in houses univited.
I have greetvisitorswhentheyknock by Squinge I believe but it doesn't quite do what I need.
I've also set the zombies outgoing points to 10 as advised by Pescado but it doesn't let them in uninvited, unless I did something wrong.

WCIF either a hack that allows for mixed-age fighting, slapping, etc... or a pose box to mimic such actions? I'm trying to illustrate a story in which, among others, an elder beats her teen child.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Crazy Issue of Craziness on: 2010 September 14, 07:53:40
In fact, I would like for this thread to remain alive a little longer. My problem is sort of related.
I have the latest AM and I patched manually (no internet access on my gaming PC). I have WA & AMB. The patching process seemed to work out fine, yet when I try to start the game, it tells me something about the base game version not matching the EP. It's driving me crazy, I have no idea how to fix it.

Edit:
Oh, wait, ignore me. I was being a fool.
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Changing game language? on: 2010 June 12, 18:39:12
Ayrell, the game will work if you edit the registry. You just need to start from TS3.exe and not from Sims3Launcher.exe. It's just the Launcher that won't work.

However, if you edit the registry, you'll need to rename your "Los Sims 3" file in My Documents\Electronic Arts to "The Sims 3" (or else the game will start a blank new game and not load your previous saves).

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue, then. Is there any way to fix their relationships and make them related again?

I use Twallan's Super Computer. It seems to stick.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 11, 13:50:28
I had the same problem as Shortyboo.
The first game I played, all the family links were okay. Then that save got corrupted so I started over with the same family (the Jones-Smith-Brown whatever) and they weren't related any more. They had lot all friends outside of the household.
I investigated, and some families in this save are borked this way, while others work just fine (the Rackets are correctly related).
What puzzles me really is that it worked in the first round and not the second.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Help with changing language and the launcher on: 2010 June 08, 11:20:56
I said it: to install some sims3packs. The 3viewer doesn't always work, so I resort to the launcher.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Help with changing language and the launcher on: 2010 June 07, 15:39:29
Yep, you read well, this is a cry for help. This is quite a technical question so I thought I'd turn to you even though... well, this is Maty.

So, I bought the game in French, but it was so horrid that I changed the language to English with regedit. So far so good, the game works fine. (no EP/SP, latest patch)
Thing is, now the launcher won't start, and I need it to install sims3packs. Now, to install them, I have to regedit back to French, change "My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims3" to "My Documents\Electronic Arts\Les Sims3" just for the launcher to work, and then do it all back again to play in English.

My question is, do you know how to fix the launcher so that it will recognize my English set up?
9  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: 3Booter, the Incooperative Game Kicker on: 2009 December 10, 10:35:31
I skimmed through this thread, so apologies if this has been mentioned and I missed it:
The 3booter doesn't do anything for me. The game crashes at the very beginning of loading time and doesn't reboot. I've tried putting the 3booter in the 2 locations mentioned, I've used it with and without the fps limiter, to no avail.
So what am I doing wrong?

It is possible to play TS3 on a laptop quite fluidly, but you've got to make choices. Despite EA's claims, I've noticed TS3 is more demanding for a laptop than TS2. Set your settings on average or low, if that isn't already done.
Also, do not play for too long in a row - for instance have a break every hour.
To cool your laptop, if you don't want to pay for a cooling stand like me, be imaginative. My technique was taping three chopsticks together and using two of those devices to elevate my laptop while on a hard surface. It let enough room for air to circulate. If you like to play in bed, use a cardboard or a hard book cover to put your laptop on.
11  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: September 2009 on: 2009 October 01, 09:02:59
Methinks it wouldn't be as easy to recreate TS3 houses in TS2 as the other way round. TS3 offers more when it come to buildings (smaller grid, object placement) so some aspects may not transfer well to TS2.
12  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: my default pictures are missing on: 2009 August 12, 16:41:54
Can't you just copy the file from the disk and paste it in the correct folder? My program files got corrupted once and I just did a copy/paste.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The really real system requirements... on: 2009 June 07, 09:51:44
For once I think they set their standards a bit high. My video card is a NVidia Geforce 9100 (i.e. not on EA's list), and yet the game runs smoothly on the lowest settings, and is playable on medium settings.
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Anyone find a skill cheat/mod? on: 2009 June 07, 09:11:18
Pardon my unawesomness, but since this doesn't (apparently) overlap with the awesome mod, I assume they're compatible. Do you have any idea? Anyway, I'll try and report if it isn't.

Has anyone else noticed guests coming to parties with food?
I threw a birthday party (in formal attire, if that matters) and no less than 2 guests brought mac & cheese.

17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Good, the Bad, and the Randomly @Toaded on: 2009 May 24, 11:32:12
Three days playing and I only just discovered how to copy custom textures from one object to another  Roll Eyes

Is there another way of doing it than saving the texture? I hate clogging the chooser with textures I use only in one room.

Does anyone know where the Garden section is? One of my sims want to garden, I can't seem to find the section for nothing.
There is no such thing : to garden your sims needs to have seeds (or fruits, veggies) in his inventory, and he'll plant them by himself. (click on them to bring up the pie menu) There no need to put down earth, there's no greenhouse or composter.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Meaning of spinning suitcase over lot in Neighborhood view? on: 2009 February 14, 21:22:22
Sigh...
Well, thanks for the info anyway.  Good thing I didn't play much since last backup.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Meaning of spinning suitcase over lot in Neighborhood view? on: 2009 February 14, 17:57:47
I'm taking the risk of making a fool of myself: this is simply something I've never seen before, to the point that I'm fearing a BFVFS.
I've switched to a medieval neighborhood I hadn't played in a while (different EA Games folder than the one I used up until yesterday). This lot used to be a cemetary, but I don't know if the tombstones are still linked to their ghosts (I don't dare load the lot yet). Right now it stands as a buyable residential lot (used to be a home business, but the owner was deleted using Theo's Simpe plugin).
Here's a pic of the "phenomenon".

Is this just a normal manifestation of the game I'd never witnessed before? If so what does it mean?
This is my main neighborhood (no subhood), I have all EPs ('cept M&G).

I saved 990 Mo just by deleting the locale files and the update exes! My laptop thanks you from the bottom of its motherboard.
22  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More FUBAR Than You January: Gameplay Glitches on: 2009 January 19, 21:38:16
Oh, where to start? I've been collecting them over the years...
First, in the "I wish I could unsee it", the trampoline. A cc object meant for children to jump on. Cloned from a bed. Add ACR and here's what you get:

---

In the sticky stuff category: sticky flower bunch. This girl came back from school with flower in her hands in lieu of report. The family did not have a flower crafting machine, nor did she AFAIK frequent the florist.

---

Last and least, but funny nonetheless: Miranda Capulet feels much better all of a sudden.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nvidia driver reccomendations? on: 2008 November 08, 18:03:11
Has anyone tried with a Geforce 9100? I had to buy a new laptop and haven't been able to reinstall the game yet. At first the high number reassured me, but it seems to be pretty recent and I haven't been able to find any testimony as to whether it can handle the sims or not.

After some testing, I can say it works quite well. Way better than my former card anyway (in the old days when my laptop would freeze every other time I reached the neighbourhood view). I can see the reflections on the sea at last!
