1  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Stuck cold skin Seasons overlay on age up on: 2012 April 16, 03:09:44
The body's the correct colour, now, but he still has blue on his face.
EDIT: Doing it a second time fixed it, though! Yay! Defrosted old man! Thanks!
2  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Stuck cold skin Seasons overlay on age up on: 2012 April 15, 04:41:27
I had an adult who was outside in the snow age up into an Elder, but the bluish white skin that comes with their being cold seemed to become 'stuck'. Re-freezing him doesn't get it off, and neither does Batbox/Fix Tans and Burns. How do I get rid of it?
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 July 12, 07:49:08
On my firetruck, I get the option to upgrade to Horsepower 4 only on Sims who don't have enough Mechanical skill to select it- ones that do have the skill don't get the option show at all. So my truck's eternal horsepower 3'd. Bugger.
4  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Sims starving to death on: 2010 July 05, 19:54:06
Seconding the issue of people starving to death in the Martial Arts Academy. I only sent one sim to China and saw it happen when he went to train. Played chess for his life and saved him. I've only seen this occur once in my game.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 July 01, 16:06:27
I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing the issue, but my Firefighter and Ghost-Hunter job completions don't always register. It seems to be a 50/50 chance of the job working at all. Very annoying. I might have the same issue with the Stylist, because even though he changes what the client requested he change I often get the 'failed to give what the client wanted' notice. I've only had one 'bad makeover' and his Creativity skill is around 8 while his job level is about the same mark, so I'd expect him to be starting to have some success by now.... nonetheless suck-job after suck-job gets the guy promoted.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 26, 13:29:54
Here are a couple of my current Ambitions clusterfuck experiences, for what they're worth. Don't know how widespread they are, but I know I'm not the only one with CTDs.

1. Aforementioned CTDs. There are a couple of things I've singled out to trigger it, namely getting married during a party at a venue, and someone in the neighbourhood ageing up. It seems to choose the Adult age stage most often. I've found one workaround- Go through every house to find who has 0 days until their next age-up, use 'editsim', and if the game CTDs when I select the next stage up for them, it seems to be that sim with the problem- reload, age them to teen instead, save, editsim, choose correct age. It's a giant pain in the nuts but it's stopped my CTDs for the most part.

EDIT 3: CTD on age-up seems to occur only on the ones that have tattooes. Yes, I feel like an idiot for not noticing this link before, of course baby-teen can't have those...

2. Firefighter jobs are borked. My level 10 firefighter can put out all the fire on a lot and free everyone and it still gives him an F. Ditto all his following jobs thereafter. I had to have him quit and restart at the bottom of the ladder.

3. Occasionally something goes profoundly wacky with cars. My teenage daughter got fused to her fathers' fire engine, creating the delightful effect of a wiggling truck crammed into the front of her house.

EDIT: New error; get a tattoo = CTD. A late discovery for me. Pleh, tattooes are trashy anyway.

EDIT 2: Fresh bork- 32 thousand dollar Fireman retirement pension. Wow. I gotta get me some of that IRL...
7  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 20, 04:57:42
My firetruck keeps vanishing from the fire station. It's happened on a few different saves now, I go to a fire to put it out, my sim gets back in to drive back to the station, truck pulls up out the front of the station, and promptly vanishes into the ether. I can't find it anywhere, it's not in the inventory... is there a workaround at all to put in a new one?
8  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 18, 04:22:32
Moved in someone from the town into my Sims' house, got 3 flagrant system errors. Speed 3 is also slow as fuck now.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 17, 00:58:31
My specs could be better so that's most likely it. I guess I'd half-hoped it was EP-related or some factor of poor optimization that I could fix easier than upgrading my computer. Bah. Guess I shouldn't play with graphics and general eye-candy settings all the way up anymore.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 16, 23:59:45
I haven't even had a chance to see most of this borkedness (trying to enjoy this game for the third time now... see if it sucks any less) because of the epic fucking lag that's come with this EP. I could play basegame and WA without much issue, but this EP killed it.
11  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Wrong skill point gain notification on: 2010 June 09, 08:15:31
When one of my Sims earns a skillpoint (seems to only be when doing something practical ie. repairing or cooking instead of studying from a book) its' telling me the wrong kind of skill point was earned sometimes. Does it mean anything, or is it just standard bork? The actual point itself is awarded correctly, ie. the guy who was fixing the computer produces a pop-up saying he gained a cooking skill point for the meal he's prepared, but it's really a Mechanical point he received.
12  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Cake emergency? (screenshot) on: 2010 May 30, 13:44:27
She ran to the toilet and proceeded to wet her pants in front of it instead of use it, then complain of aforementioned low fun motive.... : P
13  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Cake emergency? (screenshot) on: 2010 May 30, 12:11:23
I'm assuming something or another has gotten mixed up here, but my sim seems to be experiencing a cake emergency.

In terms of motives, her Fun is bottomed out and she's about to piss her pants. Hardly events that qualify for cake. What does the icon showing up like this mean? Nothing major, I hope.
14  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Stuck blue low-temperature skin overlay on: 2010 April 25, 13:16:35
Thanks.

I don't know whether it would have worked or not- that save file just crapped itself due to something unrelated- but I'll do that if it crops up again.
Sigh. *restores from backup. Again*
15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Stuck blue low-temperature skin overlay on: 2010 April 25, 08:22:11
Simple enough a problem: One of my sims went outside as a 6, got cold, came inside and aged up. However, the cold-skin overlay stayed on everything except the head. Sending him out and making him freeze in the snow again doesn't get rid of it, it just doubles up the effect to make him look super blue from the neck down. How do I dislodge this irritation? Clearing Tans and Burns doesn't do it.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: SUPPORT THE MUNICIPALITY! on: 2010 March 25, 10:16:59
You make this game tolerable and provide me with lulz, so I gave $50. Hope it helps.
Seriously, TS2 and 3 are torturous as games and/or implode completely without you. Never giving EA another dollar of mine again. They don't earn it, period; you do. I cannot believe they are allowed to sell what they put out as-is at times.

EDIT: Forgot to attach my username, because I have the dumb. Mine should be easy to pick out- my surname has a curse word in it. Yes, it is my real name. No, it is not a fun name for a girl to have gone to school with. : P
17  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Spawn are rolling generic wants intead of parent-related ones on: 2010 March 21, 06:58:33
Even when they've gotten older and relationship values have increased, they don't roll the usual parent-child wants in teenagerhood either, ie. (child) gets scholarship, get (child) into private school. The non-CAS'd ones didn't have that issue, although it's possible that I just didn't notice before.
18  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Spawn are rolling generic wants intead of parent-related ones on: 2010 March 20, 04:34:02
My other spawn who were born in-game instead of CAS'd roll things like 'Be snuggled by (mother)', instead it'll roll 'be snuggled'. I forgot to note that its' reciprocal as well: parents of these spawnlets aren't rolling things like 'teach (baby) to walk'.

It might not be a bad thing but I thought it good thinking to check.

Edited for misleading wording.
19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Spawn are rolling generic wants intead of parent-related ones on: 2010 March 20, 01:41:38
See title. This is only happening with CAS-created spawnlets, both of whom had their parents created in CAS also. Children born in-game do not appear to have this bug. The afflicted sims are a toddler and a child in the same household, but not of the same family, just co-habiting. I've checked, and their family trees are correctly linked as is the parent-child relationship setting, so what gives? Fixable, or am I just going to have to grind my teeth and ignore it?
20  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: What? No Pleasantview? on: 2010 March 18, 03:56:26
Sorry if this is obvious, but have you tried restarting the program a couple of times? I believe I had this happen once with a custom neighbourhood that decided to vanish for no reason. One restart and one fresh pair of pants later, it was back.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Making your own strays on: 2010 March 12, 10:33:38
Whoo... I think I've got it. Thanks a lot, everyone. It was a big help.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Making your own strays on: 2010 March 11, 11:31:02
Is there a reference list with this number, or might you know it offhand? ... I did just try making a 'Strays' family but yes, no dice.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Making your own strays on: 2010 March 11, 10:03:40
That explains that.

Making one titled 'Strays' would work, wouldn't it? I don't have one as-is.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Making your own strays on: 2010 March 11, 09:20:13
I've made a set of strays with nostrayregen on because I hate the fail Maxis ones. However, they're not behaving as I'd expected, ie. roaming around occasionally as true strays. What might I have done wrong? I've placed the animals in a townie family, but that doesn't seem to have been all I needed to do.
25  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Minor quirks, and a maintenance question. on: 2010 March 06, 07:41:56
That's an excellent idea, actually. I'd been forcing the uni students to move into empty lots and build the entire dormitory themselves out of scholarship money, but making tuition fees could kill two birds with one stone. Thanks for that!
