Anyone who is unwise enough to make a mod that conflicts with one of Pescado's isn't wise enough to make a mod I'll allow on my computer.  And as far as "syndicates" go, the various Standards Agencies exist for a damned good reason.

Considering Pescaso is the most prolific writer of useful mods, if I had to get rid of his mods or someone else's, guess which ones would go to the bit bucket?  Hint:  it wouldn't be Pescado's mods.

Anyone out there is free to write anything they choose.  Just as I'm free to ignore their stuff.  If I were to suddenly start writing mods, I'd make damned sure they were compatible with the premier mod writer's stuff.  And if he produced a mod that wan't compatible with one of mine, I'd change mine.  Right now, and for the forseeable future, that premier mod writer is Pescado.  Other modders may do as they wish.

If it's a stuck kicky bag, the ffsLotDebugger will fix the problem.  You should probably download and install that puppy anyway, as it fixes a variety of problems with lots.  It's under Misc/Misc in the catalog, and is a yellow "placeholder" box that hides nicely under the foundation.

Read the RTFM included in the download for more info.

I've never been able to get my text back that way.  I've learned to always highlight my text, right click and select Copy before doing anything else.  That way if the message doesn't get posted for whatever reason, I can hit Reply again and paste the text into the input area.

My tastes run mostly to simulators and wargames, but I wore out my Diablo 1 disc.  Simulators can include almost anything, from business sims (Capitalism series) to flight sims (at one time I had every flight sim on the market) to tank sims (got my name in Steel Beasts credits, twice!) to others like Microsoft Train Sim.  I've got almost all the Maxis Sim games, excluding Sim Isle and maybe a couple of others.  I've played a few good first person shooters and a couple of RTS games, like Seven Kingdoms.

Mods:  I don't mod games exactly, but I have written some support programs (not working for a company).  I did a map and scenario editor for M1 Tank Platoon 2 which got used in Gunship! later as the files were similar.  I decoded the map files for Sid Meier's Gettysburg that allowed another programmer to write a map editor.  I wrote a random battle generator for Austerlitz: Napoleon's Greatest Victory and a program to modify the EXE file to fix broken artillery strengths.  The random battle generator was interesting because at one point I told the community that if I got one more DEMAND to add or change a feature, I was gonna delete the source code.  Cleared that problem right up.  Hint:  if you want something changed or added, ask nicely.

Currently I'm playing Silent Hunter 2 (WW2 submarine sim, my computer won't run SH3) and working out methods to use a slide rule to calculate torpedo firing solutions.  I think it's more accurate than using the sub's Angle Solver computer, which requires *way* too many estimated settings on small dials. I am "she" (female), and when all of you needed to change diapers, including JM, I already played computer games (guess my age, lol).
If you mean you played on the first commercially available personal computers (Apple, Commodore, Atari)  I was already a professional computer programmer at the time.  If you mean the first video arcade games I was already out of high school.  If you mean text games that could be played on a teletype terminal, then those might have existed when I was in diapers, but you'd have required access to a research lab, university or business, which is possible.  Hunt the Wumpus qualifies as a computer game, and so does Tic Tac Toe. Smiley

Age guess:  35 to 60.

Actually ... that link would only work for Gali ... seeing as his/her user id is 30 (if you check his/her profile) ... *sigh* trying to be too clever there.

Oops.  Well, that *is* quite clever. Smiley  All I saw was an error that I couldn't modify the profile.  It didn't tell me whose profile it was, and I didn't check after looking closely at the link and noticing the user id wasn't mine.  This is a little more sophisticated than I'm used to seeing on an online forum.  I commend you.

I suspect that Prima writes their guide while the game is still in Alpha
Prima obviously writes their strategy guides from the Design Document for the game.  Many things change between the time Prima gets their version of the Design Document and the time the game is actually shipped.  Sometimes there's even an updated Design Document when the game ships, but don't count on it. Smiley  And by then it's too late to modify the Prima guide.

If you go to your notification options then you can set your notification options
Actually garyalex, that link takes us to YOUR notification settings.  People need to click on the "Profile" button, then the notificiation settings on the left side of the screen.

Just in case anyone's gotten errors clicking on garyalex's link. Smiley

Yeah yeah, I know it's your own forum and all, but...

Welcome to the More Awesome Than You forum!  Great to have you here.  I've been a great admirer of your work ever since I first heard about it way back before University was released.
