I don't think I quite understand your question, because I don't know what kind of 'hood you wanted to build.  Do you want to eliminate just the extra NPCs?  Do you want all or some of Pleasantview townies, or none at all?

No you answered my question.  So I will delete my hood and reinstall the BV and FT clean templates should resolve the issue and start over.  Thanks!

Well when I checked the creation dates of the character files, and they are all at the same date and time, when I added the three vacation hoods.

There are also three unsavory charlatans, but they have no data in files, three ninjas, and three food judges.

Should I re-do the cleaned up hood, or replace with the emply hoods to fix?

I have installed all expansions and stuff packs through M&G.  I am using the antiredundancy from the AL director's cut and have the cleaned up templates installed.  The only other hacks in my directory are nostrayrespawn, notownieregen, nossrespawn, nodormierespawn, and the vacationfixes.

I created all three vacation hoods, with the cleaned templates.  The only vacation hood visited has been Three Lakes.  When I checked my NPC's, I had three ninja's?  Is this a problem with my antiredundancy file or should I reinstall the cleaned up templates for BV again or switch them for the empty templates?

Additionally the Unsavory Charlatan shows up on community lots that are Non BV.  After picking the pocket of my sim in a Riverblossom Hills community lot, he then started showing up at the played sim's home and stayed as wedding guest.

The version of Antiredundancy installed is dated Feb. 25, 2008

Anyone know a way to recategorize the castle build set bundle to show up in the architectural section of the M&G catalog?  I can use SimPE but not sure how to change that on a bundled set of objects.

I got it to work, I made my alias

Alias qtile "setQuarterTilePlacement on"

I had to place it as the very last alias in the userStartup.cheat file.  Make sure you hit Shift+F, then select your item to move.  Sometimes I have to hit it twice, but it usually loads on second combo of Shift+F key.

Thomas uses hacking into other people's systems quite frequently as a way to resolve his frustrations. When I say "he" below, assume it means "Thomas or an approved 'agent of TSR'".

1. He has ATTEMPTED to hack MATY .
2. He hacked into Coconut's Wordpress blog.
3. He hacked into LJ's simsecret (and possibly other anti-TSR blogs).
4. He has hacked into MTS2.
5. He has revealed the Power Words (real names), home addresses, paypal (etc.) info of his SUBSCRIBERS.
6. He has blocked legitimate paying subscribers from using TSR, even though they have had nothing to do with the paysite / freesite controversy.
7. He has ATTEMPTED to hack PMBD. Also, TSR stooges like Atwa have helped themselves to the booty, including TSR items, while yelling about the booty. (See also Lyric Lee's hypocrisy of raiding the booty while yelling about the booty.)
8. Attempts to discuss TSR's illegal or shitty activities on the official BBS get deleted, and may get you banned if you persist (at the BBS, interestingly enough).
9. TSR openly discusses hacking as a weapon against people / sites who disagree with their shitty policies.

Is that about right? Did I leave any shitty behavior out?

I use WW regularly.

I would agree with the removing extra textures from hair mentioned above.

Would it be possible to also create a sorting mechanism to search all recolors of a particular mesh and move them to the same folder/subfolder or even delete them? 

How about a create-a-collection ability for CAS items (ie. so we make custom collection file to include clothes, hair, makeup, accessories etc.)?

ok the double door is messed up. I'd fix it but i dont have a clue how. here is a pic to show what i'm talking about:

Open the Door_2Tile_ArtNouveauEP99package file. Search for the OBJ  Door - 2 Tile - ArtNouveauEP99 - 1, 0 and change the 0x0001: version_1Read Only from 0x008d to 0x008b

That fixed it for me.

I had that error with BV and the Katt family.  It was funny seeing the cat sit at bar and drink juice.  They were all listed as human instead of pets when I opened them up in SimPE.

I just deleted that game and installed my back up of hood.

Reinstall fixed the borked door  Roll Eyes  Haven't checked the lights though.  Will look when I get home.

I thought this as well, but there are too different thumbnail files. The "normal" one and the CASthumbnails.

I usually delete the entire THUMBNAILS folder.  I just don't know why since reinstalling, the thumbnail deletion doesn't work. But I generated them using your tip and all is well.

I have all EP through BV and all SP through KBID stuff.

Just the one side of the door does that.

Anyone else notice the single door shows wall with frame when viewed from one side?  Is there a way to correct that borkage?  I am using the version fixed for BV.
I looked in my BV game and didn't see what you meant, so I checked both versions of the door in M&G.  They all look the same to me from both sides. Undecided

Here is a .rar with the pic of the error I described.  I made a fresh wall and it still places with wall showing.  Is the door borked?

There isn't anything there, but that is exactly what is looks like, when you add a window to a spot but the window sinks into the wall because you used moveobjects on to place it.  The door shows fine from the outside but the inside shows wall with frame and handle.  I will try to post a pic. I don't have internet at home, but will upload one tomorrow if I remember to bring to work.

Reinstalled my game from a corruption issue. Shocked

Everything is working fine, however, no matter how many times I delete the Thumbnails and cigen packages from my Sims folder, the custom face templates don't generate proper thumbnails in game.  It worked just fine before I had to reformat my hard drive.

However, the templates do work, I just cannot see them. Undecided  Replacement makeup generated thumbnails properly and can be seen in game, just not the face templates. 

Is there something else I can fix to force correct thumbnail generation for the custom face templates? Huh

Would someone be willing to set the flags for these objects to base game?  Right now, very few of the objects are showing up for the Mac game configuration (EPs up through BV plus FFS, GLS, and Holiday SPs).  The objects that ARE working are both end tables, the coffee table, both dressers (fixed by Lord Darcy), and the bed (fixed by Lord Darcy).

I've been working on them as fixes have come out.  Unfortunately, very few of the remaining objects show up with just a flag change: the arm chair, dining chair, and one floor lamp.  That's it.  I'm not sure if Lord Darcy just lucked out in picking most of the BV-compatible objects, or if she worked her magic on them... Cheesy

Try change the 0x0000: version_1 - Read Only field in all OBJDs from 141 (decimal) to 140 (decimal). The 141 value was only introduced in FT, so pre-FT EPs won't be able to recognize such objects. I "downgraded" OBJDs in all my fixed objects. That's probably why they can be recognized in pre-FT EPs.

Remember that you have to change all OBJDs in multi-tile objects. If you miss one tile, it will be b0rked just like that Asian bed.

Thanks LordDarcy!  I just tried this with the the boarded up spooky window, that was basegame set using this method http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,12303.msg348611.html#msg348611 posted by Bastdawn.  After I did the additional change you listed, it finally showed up in my BV game!

I am going to try this fix on the remaining non-shows from the store to see if that fixes them.

Also, do I need to use SimPe to correctly bin the afmodernasym hair from red to custom?  I attempted to correct the purple white hair to show in the custom bin instead of red, however, was unsuccessful.   All the others are fine.

Can awesomeness tell me how to bin it in SimPe?  I've never used that for binning hair.

I also only have expansions to BV installed.  I set the flags as per the post by Bastdawn and everything shows up in game excluding the chest and bed, and the single story spooky windows, spooky columns, and the deco bar stool.

All the hair and skins show up just fine in my regular Downloads folder.

Anyone know if I can change the codes on the items (using SimPE) to make them viewable in BV?  I have all expansions through BV and KBID packs and none of them show.

I chatted with Pescado about this in grah.  The objects are not showing up for people who have not installed the EA downloader because it creates a sort of Stuff Pack for them.  To use the files without the downloader, they must be converted to a base-game code.  It's easy: load the file into SimPE, open the OBJD, and edit field "0x0040" to say 0x1 instead of 0x1000.  Commit for each OBJD and save.

The fixed chairs and half the spooky stuff not showing. However, i don't have internet at home so installing the EA Downloader is not an option. Will wait for awesomeness to fix.
