New set in the store, One With Nature. It's currently on sale for 975 simpoints.

Here is it on my Google Drive UNTOUCHED

Anyone know which files I need to back up to make sure I have the limited edition content in case of reinstall?  Just need the file name, as I haven't figured out which one it would be, and not a Sims 3 owner.
4  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff Collections on: 2011 January 04, 21:54:06
You might need Garden and Mansion Stuff or Apartment Life for some of the items to show.  Otherwise you have to use SimPE to fix the items to show in your game or to work with Basegame.  The directions are earlier in the thread.
5  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Problem with Custom BV Bigfoot Lot on: 2010 November 16, 02:49:12
With another sim, map in hand, the bigfoot lot doesn't even show as an option to visit.

Should I burninate the lot and create fresh?  Reinstall the clean hood?  Go to my back up of the hood and start it over?  Suggestions?
6  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Problem with Custom BV Bigfoot Lot on: 2010 November 10, 00:41:04
Yes I did.

Going to visit lot with a different sim and see if it is only related to the sim that I tested with.
7  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Problem with Custom BV Bigfoot Lot on: 2010 November 09, 00:44:18
I followed the instructions here.  http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,9750.25.html

But when I entered the lot, each time, I have to use the Batbox to reset the Bigfoot Controller.  Also, my sim has no memory of meeting bigfoot, even though they are friends.  My sim did get the "Slap dance with Bigfoot" vacation memory, but his FEAR of meeting Bigfoot was never met.

Is this something I can fix with SimPe?  Or is my hood heading for the BFBVS?
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims 2 and Windows 7 on: 2010 October 05, 22:22:28
Windows 7 will also save old corrupt stuff and uninstalled items in the Virtual Store folder unless you install the Sims 2 in it's own directory.

My problems were completely resolved with the game by direct installing into C:\EA Games and disabling the User Account Control.
9  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Plantsim missing face texture on: 2010 August 06, 15:11:00
No luck with that either.  Could an original game file be corrupted?  Maybe I could extract and replace?
10  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Plantsim missing face texture on: 2010 August 06, 01:53:17
I did the flashing blue and it did not work.  Any other suggestions?
11  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Plantsim missing face texture on: 2010 August 05, 21:09:28
Sorry, to clarify, that picture is from a vanilla game.  I even had it regenerate the EA folder.

So I am rather stumped. Why would a vanilla game have this issue?
12  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Plantsim missing face texture on: 2010 August 05, 18:43:12
I just found this error, as I never play plantsims.

If a new plantsim is created in game or if I change Rose Greenman's makeup, the face texture is replaced by the sims original normal skin, but the plantsim texture remains for the hair and body.

I played with custom replacements and a vanilla game, newly generated, but still get the error pictured below.

I have clean templates installed and NOCD so no SUCrom.

Any idea how to fix this error?
13  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Sims 2 Store Art Nouveaulicious Recolors. on: 2010 May 23, 14:12:51
Mediafire does that sometimes.  Just re-download, it worked fine when I tested it just now.

I wanted this set in Black and White.  So I figured out how to recolor and made some purple and green recolors while I was at it.

I have all the recolors in one Zip.

Pics of the recolors are in the link below and marked for easy deletion of colors you don't want.

I am currently recoloring all the Nouveaulicious set.

Is anyone awesome enough to fix the missing Material Overrides for the Planter_CallaLily from this set?  It seems to be the reason why I cannot recolor those flowers and being non-awesome, I cannot fix it myself.

Thanks!
17  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. [UPDATED] on: 2010 January 26, 22:37:29
I had duplicates of downloaded items, not families, until I installed my game directly into the C:\ drive, not C:\Program(x86).  But I have no idea why you are getting no lots and duplicate families.  Have you tried cleaning out the Virtual folder?

Perhaps this fix can help you, there was another user with the same error on Direct X, but with Windows 7,  and they had to download this to fix it.

So turning off the desktop and such are the only tweaks until I can upgrade the mem to 8 gb?

Thanks that is the information I was seeking!
19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Win7 Load Times? on: 2009 December 10, 22:25:59
 Cheesy

None of it is bodyshop content.

I just noticed it takes same amount of time to load with same amount of content on a new machine vs. a P2 machine with less than a gig memory, thought maybe I could tweak what loads like I did XP.
20  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Win7 Load Times? on: 2009 December 10, 17:59:29
I just installed Win7, on a fabulous new laptop.

I noticed that my load times for a 2.5 Gig downloads folder is around 10 minutes~!!!!!  Shocked
My old P2 computer loads faster!

Anyway, I heard that it has to do with the game being made pre-dual core computers? Does anyone know a tweak I could do to speed up game load times?

Here are my specs:

Microprocessor 2.20 GHz AMD Turion X2 RM-75 Dual-Core Mobile Processor
Microprocessor Cache 1MB L2 Cache
Memory 4096MB
Memory Max 8192MB
Video Graphics ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics RS780M
Video Memory Up to 1918MB
Hard Drive 320GB (5400RPM)

Thanks!
21  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. [UPDATED] on: 2009 November 02, 22:30:44
I've discovered the problem with some help from my tekky brother. Since I'm currently running the RC1 of Windows 7 when you install programs that change files in your Program Files directory it actually doesn't change the files IN program files it creates new ones in a dummy folder located under your user directory in a hidden folder called AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files This is a silly way of "protecting delicate files" in your programs files.

So essentially I had to repeat all these steps for all the expansion packs since its not actually getting the changes from Program Files at all. (The best work around for this if you're running vista or win7 is to install the game to a different directory, or just straight onto c:\) Since I don't feel like reinstalling the whole game I figured just installing the empty templates to the dummy folder would work for now. Hopefully this will solve issues for people in the future trying to install these empty templates on the newer operating systems, and really the easiest way to solve this is don't install to program files!

Thanks for the help sloppyhousewife, I wasn't actually trying to use empty templates on an existing hood, it just seemed like that the way I worded things I guess. Anyway, the problem is now solved and I can finally play the game how I want!

So changing the default install location to :c \\ fixed this issue?  Then you install the empty templates?

Anyone know if this is also causing issues with the Bin folders? and the CEP files?

You know, if your "original point and click interface" is, in fact, clicking, you need to reload.

Your right!  Or I need to clear; the magazine is jammed!

Thank you, the list that I was using is this link http://www.4shared.com/dir/4323880/c0795b00/EmptyHoods.html which doesn't have those files and has the bad link.
