Is there anything I can get to make the macros repair local relationships the way they do the phone-ins with autoyak?

boooo hisssss

I was hoping you'd say it was fixable.  Tongue

oh well, c'est la vie.

3.2 GHz P4
2 GB RAM
nVidia 7800 GS OC AGP

afaik, that's well above the min requirements, but I get massive CPU clogging from NPCs...especially when they first enter or leave a lot.  If I pause the game, however, it runs (pauses?) smooth as slik.

I am running the MATY director's cut hacks, so if this is just a normal side-effect, I can manage...but if it's a legit issue, I'd like to fix it.

oh, and I've got all the EPs and SPs...
204  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Greek House rosters? on: 2008 February 02, 21:48:37
1) Use a pen and paper. That's what I do.

2) Only if you are having a party.

Grrr and double grrr

It's bad enough trying to keep up with the people currently in-residence and have them make and maintain friendships and new pledges, but then if people graduate and don't get moved into a house with a phone, I start losing house friends compounded by moving people in that may or may not have enough friends of their own to compensate...TOO MUCH WORK!

heh, I need a Greek House Rushes You mod...  Cheesy
205  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Greek House rosters? on: 2008 February 02, 21:36:39
Any way to keep up with who is in the greek house without having to use the overly cumbersome and counterintuitive EAxis phone group system?

Also, do non-resident members come visit without being invited?
206  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Macro Control: Macrotastics on: 2008 February 01, 09:37:22
Of course it is. EAxis can't even figure out that you need to MOVE TO THE DESTINATION before you can do anything, and would rather take 3 hours doing it. Never is this more apparent than in Castaways, where a sim can burn half a tank of gas just crossing the lot.

haha, are those "stories" games really worth getting at all?  I haven't tried any of them.

Vamp Fly is not used as a movement mode because it offers little or no speed benefit over walking. In some cases it is able to bypass interposing objects and fly through them, but for the most part this is not a movement mode that offers a real speed boost. As true ground-distance calculation is not something that can be easily performed using the tools available, we can't determine what benefit will be attained by utilizing the flight mode. As such, we only have a relatively crude heuristic estimate used to determine the movement mode to use.

Any chance of increasing the flight speed to make it worth using?  It's just so damn cool!  Grin

Also, how do you (read: I) learn to do this stuff?  All the tutorials I've found basically say "there's no way to teach it, you just do it"  Undecided

Yes, cranky customers using the "Complain" Action can queuestomp.

That might be some of what caused it, then.  Still doesn't explain the bandatron businesses...but I guess it can't be too common if I only had it the few times the other night and nothing since.
207  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Macro Control: Macrotastics on: 2008 February 01, 08:18:04
Oh, wow!  My servo, who went on a Far East vacation and learned to teleport, just teleported during a gardening macro!

Is that your doing? (I can't see EAxis being that smart)  And if so, does that work for all special movements? (like vamp fly if the vamp can't run)

Also, update on queue smashing:  So far the only thing I've seen do it is an employee quitting and that didn't happen the other night.  Can cranky customers crush queues?  Or maybe it was just a bizarre, one night only series of queue dropping...
208  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Macro Control: Macrotastics on: 2008 January 31, 16:41:17
Ok, something keeps smashing my queue, including disabling power idle.
You'll have to be more specific. Is it smashing the queue as in, very abruptly, with a possible error, or something else?

Not really sure because I have yet to see it when it happens.  I just leave a sim on power idle with it running at 3x while I'm waiting for my bandatron businesses to get stars and then suddenly notice that my sim is running around doing stupid things without power idle...or I'll be on another sim and realize the other is off power idle again.  I'll try to keep an eye out and see if I can find the cause.

Look around the dowload directories. Start here Explore. Learn. Also read the RTFMs. They are really very helpful. Sometimes it is also a good idea to go look through the threads with the same name as the hacks you are looking at.

Yeah, I've been doing that.  Although sometimes the RTFMs only tell you the bare minimum of things I want to know. Tongue

Is this normal or do I get to play troubleshooter with all my hacks? Embarrassed

I had a cat once.  I got rid of it after the fourth time I forgot to feed it and it almost died of hunger.
Macro-Power-Idle automatically feeds Pets.

ok cool.  I haven't had a pet since I found MATY, so I haven't tested it yet.

211  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2008 January 31, 02:23:17
You know what would be handy? If the Lotdebugger looked & acted like an endtable. Then it could be used as a stand for the sleepclock. Or it could be a nice desk or table that could still be used as a place to stick the computer. I don't put a lot of decorative stuff around my lots. I put the lotdebugger, macrotastics box, & the synctimer along the side of the house. Say... maybe they could be rosebushes or trees or something? That would be cool.

I try to get houses with foundations, then I hide them all under the house since you don't have to physically interact to use them.
212  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Macro Control: Macrotastics on: 2008 January 31, 02:21:54
While we're on the subject, what about regular pets?  Does it cover those?

Babies aren't pets!!  Shocked
214  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Business Controller: Business Runs YOU! on: 2008 January 30, 20:08:51
I must be missing something here.

My employees won't eat at all if I just have a kitchen set up in the employee lounge, and if I try and just serve food or use a buffet, they spend more time eating than doing anything else.  I've had more than one employee go on a perpetual break between eating, peeing and caffinating...and never going back to work!

Am I doing it wrong or do they just not know how to feed themselves?  My owned sims have no trouble eating at all, they just make a meal from the fridge.  But managers and employees don't.

currently, I'm just placing snapdragons all over creation to compensate, but I'd rather not use magical daisies for my "realistic" neighborhoods...
215  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Wants & Fears Sanity "Death To All Nesses" Public Beta Edition on: 2008 January 30, 03:07:23
hahaha, I had to turn off jealously because of the "20 simultaneous lovers" aspiration.  It got old having all the dates at my house because I was afraid to be seen in public after I got up to #5.
216  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Wants & Fears Sanity "Death To All Nesses" Public Beta Edition on: 2008 January 29, 21:31:17
So when I get 5 simultaneous marriage wants for 5 different sims, that means...what?  I'm ready to collect life insurance?  Tongue
217  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Wants & Fears Sanity "Death To All Nesses" Public Beta Edition on: 2008 January 29, 17:08:34
Any chance you could look at removing the marriage and engagement wants from the romance aspiration?

It's really bizarre having my sim both want AND fear engagement and marriage  Tongue

Especially when I'm on a date and get marriage wants for other sims.  Cheesy
