151  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The World's Slowest Sims Player on: 2005 September 07, 01:04:24
I tend not to play Maxis neighborhoods, mostly because I perfer to make neighborhoods myself. However, I do like making neighborhoods based off of shows and games that I like. (in fact, the neighborhood I play the most is based off a cartoon) However, I tend to be lax as far as following every single bit of canon about the show. I follow the important stuff and personalities of the characters, but with minor details, I just simply say "screw it."

Anyway, my speed tends to depend on what my goal is. If I want to age them, I play quickly, with aging on (apparently). I tend to take shortcuts and tend to socialize only when the social is low. However, if I want them to get established in their jobs, to work on relationships, or anything of that sort, I turn off aging and work on that aspect until it is settled enough for me to turn aging on.

I use the fast forward and pause a lot. I fast forward when they're skilling, or doing something which they won't autonomiously pull away from it. However, I pause to make sure they won't do something stupid.
152  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Visiting campus at inconvenient times on: 2005 September 07, 00:23:54
I haven't played a Greek House yet, but is there any sort of hack that prevents them from visiting campus at all? It sounds more like a pain to me.
153  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hurricane Katrina on: 2005 September 07, 00:10:07
Now, I can't help but wonder if the press would be so likely to give the Governor of Louisiana and the Mayor of New Orleans a pass if both had been Republican instead of Democrat?

...

But then, I suppose it's easier to ignore the facts when Uncle Sugar is run by the Great Satan Bush instead of John "French Poodle" Kerry. One wonders how President Kerry would have fared in such a situation. Would he have ignored the Constitution and federal and state laws and gone in willy nilly to save the day? We'll never know. But I'm sure that whatever he did...in the eyes of the media and the rest of the world...it would have been golden.

Ha ha ha. You people crack me up, both Democrat and Republican. You both act like victims if your side gets attacked.

I am sure John Kerry (nice French attack there, BTW. Very predictable.) would have been in just as much fire as Bush was. I am sure Republicans would've been more than happy to attack Kerry and use it to honor the Bushes, Reagan, and others. "If BUSH was in this position, blah blah blah would've happened, because Bush isn't lazy, unlike you slobbering Democrats!" Judging by your comments, I am sure you'll be amongst the blamers.

Political stubbornness is what is wrong with this country. Liberals vs. conservatives, Democrats vs. Republicans... and both of you are unwilling to make compromises, or at least let the other side speak. And the fact that this disgusting behavior is brought in during a time of crisis is heartbreaking.

I don't like the fact that the Democrats are accusing Bush altomatically. I think this all needs to be examined by non-partisan people before we start yelling and blaming. I think both sides are going to be seen as guilty, though. However, this is no time to start acting like victims or to start pointing fingers. We should help people, then poltical bitch later. After all, whining about Bush is not going to help the people of New Orleans one damn bit.
154  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Super secrect Survey on BBS on: 2005 September 01, 07:02:46
I would remotely consider buying this "booster pack," IF it had enough items in it, and if any these items were of any use. I am a sucker for new things, I must admit.

Then again, wouldn't all those items be leaked out on the internet, anyway?
155  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No dormies in sight - not even my own on: 2005 August 30, 05:26:36
I use the 6 room dorm (though a bit remade and remodled), and I haven't had any problems with it. Exactly what kind of problems do you mean? For instance, what do the dormies do different than on a normal dorm? (I never cared about them anyway; not my problem.)
156  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Yet another pre-order incentive on: 2005 August 25, 05:36:14
Hey, what if they offered a patch for University as a preorder incentive? It wouldn't surprise me if they suddenly did that. Disgust me, yes. Surprise me? No.
157  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Changing haircolor genetically with Sim PE on: 2005 August 24, 06:34:23
Thank you very much, all of you. I'll bookmark the links just in case I want to change a Sims DNA again.
158  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Changing haircolor genetically with Sim PE on: 2005 August 23, 02:18:24
How do I, using Sim PE, change a Sim's hair color into some other color so they'll be able to pass it on to future generations? I know how to change their appearance, yes, but I know that this is basically the equivalent to "dying" their hair genetically. You see, I want to change a Sim's natural hair color to black so his kids could have black hair instead of brown. I heard this can be done, but I couldn't find any sort of straight tutorial about it. Anyone have any idea?
159  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Are you going to buy Nightlife? on: 2005 August 23, 02:11:23
I chose 2, but it is mix between 2 and 3. I want to make sure it'll be okay to install Nightlife with my regular neighborhood without having to fear explosion. I'll see which downloaded hacks/items I need to replace or remove before attempting it.

I am also holding out in the hopes that Maxis will come through with that patch. It's waaaaay overdue already. However, my confidence in Maxis as far as patches are concerned is slipping, and I wouldn't be surprised if we DON'T end up with anything.
160  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Marriage In a Church Would be Nice on: 2005 August 19, 02:39:07
I've made a marriage community lot. I had my first Sim marriage there and I found it very convenient. I like it, since you can focus on decorations and make the place extremely pretty, even if the Sims are dirt poor. However, you'd have to switch it from a residental lot to community lot a few times, as the wedding arch and all that stuff is for residental lots only.

You also don't get that lemo and it isn't an "official" party. If you want specific guests to be there, you'd have to use the teleporter to put them there. However, none of those things really matter to me as long as the couple gets hitched.
161  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Glitch/Bug/WTF? on: 2005 August 09, 02:41:17
I got that problem two times in my game, and both happening when I was moving my Sims into houses I haven't used before. However, for one of the houses, I could've sworn I visited it beforehand in build mode before moving the Sims in.
162  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Review of the Sims2 Content Manager on: 2005 July 29, 04:46:53
Eh, I gave this Sims2 Content Manager a try. The only thing redeemable about it is that you can just look at files that are of "questionable content" by themselves. I don't think the Clean Installer has that option. However, what makes me use the Clean Installer is to view the contents of .sims2pack files before extracting them and to see what files are just worthless empty packages.

I pretty much think that they churned this together, and then threw it to the public so they can unofficially "beta" it for them. I found it particular that it came in a Zip file as well.

The hot coffee problem was due to the content being unlocked -- it was already there, created by the developers. Maxis hasn't put anything "naughty" in the game and shouldn't be held responsible for the content created and distributed by third parties.

But knowing the tactics of the average lawyer, I am sure they'll say that Maxis programming 'allowed' them to put such "naughty content" in due to allowing Sims 2 fans to make their own content.
163  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No Autonomous SSX3 hack on: 2005 July 27, 00:08:11
I could've sworn I saw someone make a hack for this... but while searching MTS2 for it, I found this instead. However, it completely removes 'Play SSX3' altogether. If you don't mind that, give it a try and see if it works.
164  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: choose sex of baby hack? (pretty please)? on: 2005 July 27, 00:01:28
I would really like this. While it isn't an absolute necessity, it DOES get annoying restarting a lot over and over because I want my Sim to have a male baby.
165  Awesomeware / Playsets & Toys / Re: Ghost Buster - Anti Ghost Device (07/21/05) on: 2005 July 25, 02:41:57
Does this stop ghosts from raiding the fridge should the Anti Ghost Device be in the kitchen? I did just that, and the death-by-hunger ghosts still raided the fridge. However, maybe the fact that the house isn't on a foundation could be a problem.
166  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Other Games? on: 2005 July 25, 01:56:58
The fact that I have Sims 2 is rather amazing. I am a console person. I have a lot of consoles and games for them (NES, SNES, N64, GCN, PS2, PSOne, Dreamcast, a ton of Gameboys, including DS). My favorite games include Megaman Legends 1 and 2, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Kart, Paper Mario 1 and 2, Animal Crossing, the Zelda games, Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, Donkey Kong Country games, StarFox, and a hell of a lot more.

However, I just recently bought the Sims 1. I don't like it as much as the Sims 2, however.
167  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Factoids and Statistics on Skill Gaining on: 2005 July 21, 03:45:29
According to the Prima Guide (Warning: Crapola ahead.) elders love the Yummy channel, toddlers and adults like it, teens dislike it, and children hate it.

Really? I have my teens watch the Yummy channel all the time (gives the TV SOME use), and they never seem to complain or change it when I don't want them to. Or are they talking about how much the fun increases/decreases?
168  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone cracked the Infuence to Clean bug that uses up all the Uni food? on: 2005 July 20, 02:30:35
Actually, I have my Sims clean up the dorms. It helps give them cleaning skill points, which is always good to boost up. Some of them even enjoy being neat freaks.

Can you hire a maid at dorms?
169  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what is an overpopulated neighborhood anyway? on: 2005 July 19, 22:57:43
However, that method (with a huge neighborhood) takes a long time. You have to manually go through everyone's memories to make sure they have none for the to-be-deleted characters. I attempted it once, but then I decided my neighborhood is in no real danger right now with slightly over 300 characters. However, I would love some sort of program that deletes these empty character files and any memories pertaining to them.
