I like the 1097 one with the angled wall.

I'll try and find some too, but that one looks like a winner.

Someone make a corporate decision and just pick a house.  Last months one was a smallish house on a big lot.  How about a biggish/medium house on a small lot?  Or a small house on a small lot, but it has to fit x many baths/beds?

I'm getting antsy with nothing to make-over.
53  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2009 January 02, 04:33:12
So, do we have a house for January yet?

54  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2009 January 01, 23:43:46
Yea.  Two of my friends have NL and Pets.

Uni i never had ( borrowed it 3 years ago) and I can only find one of the BV disks.

The internet cap drags me back down until the 14th - my download speed is somewhere around 5kb/s.  If I'm lucky.  Hence it would take about 2 weeks of consistent downloading (assuming I don't bluescreen some time in the middle of the night or while I'm at work) to download the last 4 packs.

Other than that, I have all the SP's and I have the store stuff somewhere.
55  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2008 December 31, 23:44:37
I currently have no Pets, Nightlife, Bon Voyage or Uni till the 14th, when my cap gets removed.  I might be able to beg, borrow and steal NL and pets some time soon.

Other than that, I have everything else, so I could always re-build the selected lot.
56  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2008 December 21, 06:08:55
I downloaded the happy holidays stuff pack (which doesn't show itself to even *be* a stuff pack according to the game loader).

Expect to see a winter wonderland coming your way Cheesy

***UPDATE***

(Didn't want to double-post)

Based loosly on The Secret Garden we have

Hidden Solace.rar

A family house, we have rooms for all the kids, teens and babies.

Open plan living/dining/kitchen.
Kitchen is gated off.

Pool table, stereo and study on the first floor for entertaining those pesky townies.  Both stairs and greenhouse are gated off for family access only.

"Hidden" hot-spring for relaxing away from the bustle of the main house.

"Secret" Playground for the kids to burn off all that energy.

"Forgotten" Grove in the middle of a forest, complete with fountain.  Contemplate life, the universe and everything.

_______

I played around with the terrain painting.  I don't know how well the flowers will survive.
All Ep's, All SP's, + Store Stuff & Unlocked stuff by Havelock.  I think only the lights in the bathroom are the unlocked ones.

The guy is walking around in swimwear because I tried to make the pond swimmable, but it was a failure.

Enjoy!

57  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2008 December 20, 23:23:37
According to my game it's custom content.  Was it Holiday Stuff pre-order?  The xmas lights around the ceiling also arn't showing up in my game.

I'm in the process of putting the store stuff into my game without custom stars - just to make sure that I DO try to use some of it.

Very odd.

58  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2008 December 20, 22:54:11
Is that xmas tree maxis?

I've looked and looked and I am starting to think that it was a pre-order gift.

If I can't find my one (seeing as I now have all ep's and sp's, and most of the store stuff) I'll just have to make a cc & non cc version of my 2nd house and throw Parsimonious xmas stuff in there.

59  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2008 December 17, 09:41:14
I'm a party animal.  We have "BYOP" nights - Bring your own party.

They start out with 2 or 3 people then end up with 20 of us in a drunken mess at 3am.

Any spawn I produce will grow up in such an environment - maybe with less drunkenness.  But lots of party.

First house for the Month!

Stratford Square Dance.rar

After the Larson twins had made all that money from their house parties, they decided to make it a full-time occupation.

Featuring a double story greek inspired party area, a bar with basic meals, DJ booth and outdoor dining.

House includes 2 double beds, 2 single beds for guests, bathroom, kitchen and living room/dining.

Private outdoor area with pool and greenhouse.

Slideshow here:

It's done on the non-flat lot.  I'm sorry.
The phone controller has tagged along for the ride, but nothing else, according to cleaninstaller.

All EP's, All SP's + Store stuff (which I don't think I used).

I'm pretty sure that the greenhouse roof will keep the rain off the dancefloor - but it hasn't been fully tested.  The fences on the observation deck are lockable to keep guests out of the house.  Stairs are lockable.  The bar is lockable for staff/household only, or you can have everyone use it.

Question regarding Store Stuff...

I've just installed all the stuff packs and the store stuff linked from this site - I'm using things in my catalogue without custom stars.
Does the store stuff count as custom?  Or can I assume that it's ok to use since it's EAxis crap?  As I've installed 8 SP's and a pile of store stuff, I don't know what is what.

I have one house ready to go - just need to package, picturise and playtest.
62  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2008 December 14, 10:28:56
I just got M&G and the other stuff packs are at 44% torrented.  I've also re-set my entire game (due to borkedness) and hopefully still have my 2 half-done houses.

Give me a few more days and I should have something up before xmas.

63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Most worthwhile expansions and stuff packs? on: 2008 December 06, 00:42:40
OFB compliments the later EP's by making any sort of business possible.

You can use OFB to sell the craftables from FT, the produce and fish from Seasons, animals from Pets, and even use the ticket machine for your Uni house parties.

64  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: November on: 2008 November 30, 11:27:35
I was half-way through my dorm when my computer bluescreened.  I'd saved it, but not soon enough.

It's 8 bedrooms, a shared 4 shower-4-toilet-4-sink bathroom, a smallish kitchen and a large dining area.
Study room with 3 desks, lounge on 2nd floor and main sleeping area on 3rd floor.  Skilling area in attic.

I'll finish it and post it up, but it won't be till after the 1st.
65  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: November on: 2008 November 26, 07:03:22
I'm trying to decide between a dorm or a hotel for my next one.  I want to try to get one more in this month.  At least with dorms you can re-zone them to residential if you're not dormy.
66  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: November on: 2008 November 25, 11:01:24
Ugh.  Why give us the tools to make booths if they fail anyway?
67  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: November on: 2008 November 25, 09:53:17
I just realised that I haven't changed the letter box.

Are your sims hungry?

Send them here!

With an organic garden providing most of the food prepared fresh for you, why eat anywhere else?

Are you a smoker?  Need to get fresh air?  We have plenty of outdoor seating for you and your friends.

Have a drink and relax at the bar.

Our booths are nicely padded for your eating pleasure.

It's not playtested yet - I suspect the corner booth may have issues.  The nightclub room needs to have transparent tiles on the ceiling to make it look better.  As before, I forgot the letterbox -> phone thing, so you'll have to do that.  But I did remember to put something other than carpet in the bathroom!

Also, I don't know why people are so against comm lots.  And when I said "make a rule that comm must stay comm", I mean it as in we make rules about decking and fireplaces and foundations, so why not, for one lot, make a rule about it's zoning.
68  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: November on: 2008 November 23, 20:00:55
Exactly.

A house is a house - until it becomes a comm lot.  Or a dorm.  Or a home-business.
69  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: Help! My torrent broke! on: 2008 November 23, 01:46:57
Doesn't give me an option as the files are split rars.

I'm trying to obtain a working version from a friend of mine in exchange for other arred goodies.

After googling the issue, I have not found a reliable fix.  Some people suggest removing ram, installing numerous times and closing background tasks.

70  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Help! My torrent broke! on: 2008 November 23, 00:27:54
I don't know what I've done.  Or if I've even done anything.

I downloaded the Spore torrent from TPB by Reloaded, going by the praise that reloaded gets for its torrents.

It downloaded, extracted, and the ISO is being seen.

But it starts downloading and won't load anything past the first few files.  After that it claims that the files it's trying to install are listed wrongly in "setup's .cab file".  I found several cab files in the iso, but can't open any of them without them turning into goobily gook in notepad.

Did I do something wrong?  Or is the torrent just broken?

I really don't want to have to waste another 2gb+ downloading the torrent again, but will have to if I can't find the .cab file that it's referring to.

EDIT: Included screenshot of error - Referrs to CRC.
71  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: November on: 2008 November 22, 11:26:53
Whoever submits the fail for the month gets to choose just that - the fail for the month.

How about downtown lots?  Vacation lots?  Dorms?

If you want to pick a comm lot, make it a rule that it HAS to remain comm.  Or that it HAS to remain a business, be it residential or community.  You can add any rules you want at the start of the month - just don't go changing them half-way through.

If you want to re-model an apartment - create the apartment so that it is base-game compatible for those without expansions.  Same goes for dorms, and vacation lots.  You can always re-zone them when they're done.

Otherwise, besides the external wall rule, it's fair game for any and all conversions; dorm, community, business, residential, apartment, etc.

72  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: November on: 2008 November 22, 00:04:09
Or start really focusing on CRAP houses.  We've done some - with awesome results.  Houses that are already livable should be excluded because they don't really 'fail'.  Sure, they're not pretty, but they're usable.

The apartment idea sounds interesting, but I could see it becoming an issue if people without EA store stuff and certain EP's try to edit houses that requires those items.
Maybe provide a basic wall shell and then everyone can submit a plan using those external walls, listing the items used.  Then each level can be constructed using individuals ideas but without having to pass the house along.
I just have horrible visions of corruptness.
73  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: November on: 2008 November 08, 23:13:22
I was led to believe that cars could park at a community lot if there was space to park (as opposed to on the side of the road) if you drive yourself (not taxi's).

Yes, I did forget a few things - the mailbox for one - replace it with a telephone.

It is lot-zoned though, but I didn't save - re-enter - lot zone - leave - re-enter.  I just Zoned and Saved.  Then Packaged.

You're most welcome to change it - I'm sure it could be done a lot better.  At the time I constructed it, I was furious my apartments we not working, so yes, I was absent minded.

It still looks pretty though Cheesy
74  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: November on: 2008 November 08, 08:23:01
Bliss: It was done this morning during the effects of tequila-related-drunkenness.  Hence why the floors are all the same (yes Pescado, carpet in the bathrooms) and some of the half-walls are unpainted.  Oops.

I was thinking instead of it going to a uni lot, it could go in a n'hood.  Most suburbs have a community library.

Floopy: I don't think humidity counts in sim-world.

I didn't do a residential lot this time.

It's a library/art lot for your college sims.
Room to bbq and relax, playground to work off the snacks and get the mental juices pumping.

Ample parking for 4 cars.

The back area is fenced off to stop those nasty kidnappers stealing your children while you study parenting.

4 Study nooks ensure your exam answers won't be copied - at least not by the person sitting next to you.

Plenty of books to read.

Some people find water relaxing.  For those who just feel the need to pee, a toilet is avalible.

Art and Craft floor has everything you could need to create a masterpiece, learn the piano or perfect the violin.  A TV offers a wide range of viewing, including informative channels.

Keep your children entertained while you study physics and mind control.

Feeling hungry?  Cook up a batch of burgers on the stainless steel bbq's and feel that hunger just dissappear.
