Ah! Thank you very much. Now I know what to do--and also that I didn't just completely screw it up myself. Always a good thing.

All right, I've been trying to get the Razor version downloaded/extracted/working all day (not being that sophisticated, arr-wise), and now I can't seem to install. Couldn't find anyone else having this problem, but hopefully someone smarter than me can figure it out.
A minute or so after setup starts, I get this error:
"CRC Error: The file C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Caches\Sunset Valley.objectcache doesn't match the file in the setup's .cab file. The medium from which you are running the setup may be corrupted; contact your software vendor."
While I commend grammar-challenged EA's attempt at a punctuation with that semicolon, there, I still have no clue what they're talking about.

Oh my gosh! All of these houses are so lovely. I want to live in them all.
Batelle, I love your house, especially the exterior. That shot of the playground is great...it feels very autumnal. And I like your use of archways to make lots of little interconnected rooms.

The "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme song is now my anti-Goopy. YES.

I am so glad I looked back at her July 9th entry: "When i used to be a writer...."

I think back when i was in high school and all i cared about was writing my autobiography. [...] I read all of these Sims 2 stories and they are sooo GOOD and then i look at mine and they are shitty.

Holy crap, her autobiography.

EDIT: I nominate this shlock. For a lot of reasons, including purple prose, writing that tries so hard to be "quite emotional," and Goopy.

Thanks for the help. :) I think that since I'm the only one I've found who's experienced this problem, that it was probably just a house-specific bug, so I sadly demolished and rebuilt.
8  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Gentrific fireplace is crashing my game? on: 2008 January 10, 04:10:03
Yes. I tested it without my downloads folder, and the problem still occurs. It also seems to be happening only in one house, so maybe I just need to rebuild...garrr. I think it might have to do with the fact that Bon Voyage fireplaces don't go all the way to the ground (if they're built, say, against a first floor and there's a foundation below). But I seem to be the only person with this problem, so, I guess it can't be that...?

Since I've installed Bon Voyage, I've been unable to move the fireplaces in one of my homes. When I click on it with the grab or sledgehammer tools, the game freezes--I can still move my cursor, and the music continues playing for another few minutes, but nothing happens and I eventually have to close it with task manager. It's the gentrific fireplace, and it's the only item that I've had a problem with. I know it's not a problem with my downloads folder. I tried this in debug mode, but I didn't get any error messages, though I'm ashamed to say I've forgotten most of what I used to know about error logs.
I haven't been able to find anyone else who seems to have had this problem. Ideas? I'm not exactly technologically braindead, but I'm no whizkid either. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this is driving me batshit.
