7176  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Greek Houses - Gah! on: 2005 July 19, 17:50:16
I think the reason may be that "once a Greek House, always a Greek House" and if you could move the last sim out, no-one would then be able to move in.

That's not true. Once the last Greek occupant has left, any Sim can rent the lot and thereby restart the house.

Sorry, just thought that might be the case.

My problem now has got worse, I moved my sims from the phone affected house (can't call for transportation) into a Greek house as they had friends there, and now the sims in that house (all of them) can't call for transport!  I've never used the boolprop cheat, so would appreciate a bit of help in how to do it!

These dual memories are a pain and take up unnecessary space!  Like Had first kiss with X and Kissed X for the first time!  Sort of like verses in the bible, where everything is said twice in two different ways!  But soooo unnecessary!

So does that mean his character file disappears from the list and leaves a gap?  I mean, I killed off Sophie  in one of my neighbourhoods, but she just regenerated as a professor in the Academie!

Maybe, but have you noticed how often the childhood friend stays with them throughout their life?  if they don't get in touch, the friend rings them up, or calls round unannouced!

I often have Romance sims marry their childhood best friend, and they always seems to get on well together.

Family sims seem to get the whole range of masterpiece/novel/quit job wants!  Coral Oldie (with help from the Aging off cheat and the elixir) has managed to do all three, has adopted a child (actually quite a nice one for a change!) and still manages to keep Herb from playing away - though he's forever wandering past any house that contains a sexy young blonde!

I sometimes think Maxis didn't actually know what they wanted!  They also tried to make a game that would have mass appeal, so they had to appeal to the mass desire for scandal - a bit like the popular press!

I pretty much ignore wants unless I want to fulfil them - just fill the LTW and it doesn't matter whether they get that guitar or hustle pool or anything else!

I'm pretty sure the answer is that the last one has to get new members before they can grow up!  I'll check it out when I've got a sim in that situation, but at present I don't have any single inmates of Greek Houses.

I just find the whole pool thing badly thought through - I mean, humans go in the pool and spend most of their time socializing!  And I hate the way they only ever manage three strokes before they have to stop, even if they're at fitness level 10!

Well, it worked!  I finally have baristas turning up for work.  My problem must have been the opposite, in that my game just wasn't creating any of them at all, except in Pleasantview!  Thanks, Pescadp, this is a really useful hack!

Haven't had the problem either, Dustin Broke and his girlfriend graduated perfectly, but from Sim State Uni.  Hope I don't get the problem, although I've just got a similar one - Gary London just got kidnapped by the Secret Society and now he and his housemates can't call a cab!

If you sell the gravestone, does the dead sim disappear from the list?
7187  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Re the Romance Mod on: 2005 July 18, 16:18:07
I detest Angela!  I never let her get anywhee near Dustin!  All my Aries sims, regardless of aspiration, seem to display jealousy, but none of the others!  However, Beau Broke had a brief fling with a romance sim, and now he won't look at anyone else!  And in this game I let him change from Knowledge to Popularity (I usually have him as Knowledge, but Dustin swapped over to Knowledge, so I though it's time for Beau to have a change too!)

It's interesting about the Public Woohoo want, I think I must only have let Romance Sim couples have public woohoos before!  It's not the Public Woohoo want that surprised me, so much as the 3 different sims!
7188  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re the Romance Mod on: 2005 July 18, 13:31:56
I recently installed your Romance mod, and I love the way it works, it seems I have to be very careful of Aries sims, they are so far the only ones among the romance sims who show jealousy!

However, I've had something odd happen with another Aries who's a Knowledge sim!  He's recently hooked Keanu Broke (the youngest Broke) and after a suitable display of jealousy and relationship scores down in the minuses, he's now made it up and got himself engaged to Keanu.  However, this sim (Gary) is now showing the "Have Public Woohoo with 3 different sims" want, and I don't remember ever seeing a Knowledge sim display that want before!  I know in their thrist for knowledge they'll "try anything once" but this surprised me!

Don't know if it'll solve my problem, but I'll try it and let you know if I actually get a barista to work at my empty espresso bars! Thanks for getting back to me so quickly about my problem!8)
