51  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Trying to Kick Sim Out and Game Will Not Save on: 2010 November 16, 18:52:07
I have tried both the move and kick out from the phone and computer and the split household in edit town. Nothing is working. I think I will try the NRaas option next.

Shall let you know if it works. It worked in the past with no problem when doing these things, but now, due to Late Night or not, it is bugged.
52  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Trying to Kick Sim Out and Game Will Not Save on: 2010 November 16, 18:11:22
I am playing a non-Bridgeport hood for the first time since Late Night. The game loads well, plays well, saves promptly when playing the household, and it saves well from edit town generally.

I have tried to kick a sim out 3 times and the game will not save/process it. I also tried to split the household from edit town, and it would not process/save. I have had to use task manger to close the game. I let the game try to save/process for over 15 minutes with the last try.

Is anyone else haviing slow or incomplete saves? I am not getting errors, just neverending saves/processes.

All ideas to solve this will be appreciated.
53  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Attempting to Unlock the other High Rise shells on: 2010 November 16, 17:56:43
At the risk of tar and feathers, I shall post here rather than starting a new thread. I am using the shells mod by Jynx which has unlocked the other shells. I built a beauty salon on the top floor of a building. I have the elevator from the lobby to the salon on top.

I cannot get a Sim up to the salon. I cannot even see any of the floors when the sim is there. I first added the community space marker to the lobby and salon. I then checked the Prosper Room lot to see what EA did. As far as I can see there is only the room hider at level one and the community space marker in the lobby. I have done the exact thing in my shell, but it does not work. It is zoned as a salon.

Has anyone built a business in a shell and can advise what I am doing wrong?
All help will be appreciated.

I could hear the elevator bell and saw another Sim leave the building. So, other Sims can use it, but not mine.
54  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAW and Installation of Revised World Problem on: 2010 November 13, 19:33:28
I was able to do it in the past also, and cannot at least with this world. And now to add icing to the cake, I cannot even upload it to the exchange as getting an error, and Mediafire stalls out!

If anyone knows how I can get this thing uploaded somewhere I would appreciate it. It is just over 80MB. I do have a high speed cable internet, so that is not the problem.

Edit: I got it to go through on Rapidshare.

55  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAW and Installation of Revised World Problem on: 2010 November 13, 14:46:02
That is very interesting. It then seems that it does vary by world. I am glad it is not just me, not that it is fun for either of us.

I managed to get rid of the wedge again, for at least a while, playing with terrain elevations again.
56  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAW and Installation of Revised World Problem on: 2010 November 13, 06:56:09
No matter what I do, even with renaming all, the launcher keeps saying I have it installed already. I finally gave up and have uninstalled my first version and then it would install.

I do have a problem with a blue wedge shape in the water that I cannot get to go away. Once I had it and was able to raise and lower the terrain to get rid of it, but now that it is back, I have tried that a few times and so far cannot get rid of it.

Any ideas as to how to nuke it will be appreciated. It shows up both in CAW and in the game.

Edit: Here are links for the pics as the other does not seem to be working.

Thank you for the link and response. I did rename the world in the edit description section as well as using the save as, but have not removed my old one, the caches, etc., so need to look into that. I am too tired to try now, but will check all the suggestions.

58  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / CAW and Installation of Revised World Problem on: 2010 November 12, 04:35:53
I am having a new problem with CAW. I am trying to revise the world that I made last spring to add a downtown now for Late Night items. My problem is that even using a "save as" and even after renaming at least 3 times to something totally different, the game keeps telling me the new version is already installed.

The downloads section of the launcher say it is already installed. The installed section of the launcher shows only the earlier version. In my docs it shows just the earlier version.

Has anyone else had this? Does anyone know how to get the launcher to accept the new one without uninstalling the old one?

I would think that a "save as" or a rename should establish it as a different world, but the launcher does not agree with me!

-----------------
Edit: I finally went ahead and let the Download Manager update as was sick of looking at the request to update. Do you think this may be related to that update rather than CAW?
59  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAW and Use of Seed Spawners on: 2010 November 10, 03:48:06
I find it odd that the warning only is placed on seed spawners in CAW, when I would think that they are the easiest on game/CAW performance as are static. It would seem like the bugs, butterflies, fish, and so on, which are in constant motion would cause more issues than seeds that just sit on the ground and do nothing.

60  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAW and Use of Seed Spawners on: 2010 November 09, 10:00:02
I just tested in a brand new world and was able to place them .... so not verboten by EA by disabling them. So once again, EA did not do the logical thing and disable/delete them from CAW if we are not to use them there.

I guess EA does not understand the hard edit concept.

61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Late Night bugs & annoyances on: 2010 November 09, 09:49:47
You know, you can just click on the sleeping sims and just click "Wake Up".

I find it more fun to have my Sim irritate them to wake them up.  Grin
62  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Is it really my processor? on: 2010 November 09, 09:44:32
LN and the patches released at the same time no longer require the CFF Explorer setting.  They are already set to be LAA aware.  It took the EA people long enough to figure that one out.

I noticed that when I went to update mine. Does the patch affect just LN, LN and the base game, all? Does she need to go ahead and update the base game and any EPs and stuff packs prior to LN or is the patch patching all? I had already done everything else and so the only thing new for me was that LN was already done when I went into explorer.
63  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Is it really my processor? on: 2010 November 08, 04:05:56
Try the DEP and cff explorer routes first before looking at new hardware. In my game, I just need to adjust the cff explorer settings to avoid crashes.
64  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Late Night bugs & annoyances on: 2010 November 08, 04:01:32
One odd thing that I have noticed is that my Sim gets party invites and shows up at a reasonable hour, say 9pm, and the hosts are always in bed asleep! My Sim has had to do something inappropriate such as take a shower to wake up the host each time.
65  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAW and Use of Seed Spawners on: 2010 November 07, 10:28:18
I have done the same thing. When I add lots I have no idea as to where I placed spawners when I made the hood ages ago. I have placed a few new lots in places where I probably placed them. So far, there have not been any problems.

EA has been so adamant that we not use them per the verbiage in CAW and in the failure to use them other than on lots in Bridgeport, that you would think that they could/would have told us what is going on regarding them. Foolish me!

It would have been too friggin' easy to explain the change, but that is EA for you.

66  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / CAW and Use of Seed Spawners on: 2010 November 06, 12:28:42
Has EA ever advised us as to why we should not be using seed spawners now in CAW? We must be able to use them only on lots? I am redoing a hood I made in the past and am wondering if I need to pull the seed spawners out of that one before making the final revised version.

I just did a search in the Prima Guide and there is not a single mention of seeds in Bridgeport, but I know there are some in the butterfly lot as my Sim found them there.

It sure would make it a heck of a lot easier for us if EA would do more than just add a few words in CAW.
67  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Late Night bugs & annoyances on: 2010 October 31, 00:16:49
I have the problem of the empty clubs and bars too except for my Sim, the bouncer and the bartender. I have had as many as 30 Sims show up at the consignment store (!), or a restaurant I built, but none at a hotspot. Sims clearly do not have their heads on straight!

Due to the number of Sims I have had on lots otherwise, I do not think it is a specs issue, but an EA one.
68  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Late Night bugs & annoyances on: 2010 October 28, 05:32:57
They don't turn right away, you have to wait for them to slowly die. It takes about a day or two.
Oh well, that explains a lot. I'm kinda disappointed that the "lessons" section neglected to mention it.

Major fail with investigator profession. Sims might get a case to search through sims' garbage on sims that live in a apartment and don't have garbage cans. I suspect more of such problems with the investigator profession.

I just did some build work and on the lot I was doing, there was a garbage can at street level.
69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Where to find GOOD custom worlds? on: 2010 October 25, 00:04:36
I will try adding a heck of a lot more. As an existing hood that I made, I added 4 on each lot in my swamp area, but did not have as much of an effect as wanted. Shall throw more in and see what happens.

I also added a heck of a lot more trees to my hood in game. Do we know if they cluster automatically when added in game for an existing hood? My saves are longer, so wonder if I added too many, or if they only cluster when added in CAW?
70  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Where to find GOOD custom worlds? on: 2010 October 21, 16:23:24
Zazazu, that is great fog in the last pic. What effect did you use with the fog emitters to get that? I have tried the spirit fog and the graveyard fog and so far can only get ground fog.
71  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Marrying foreign sims on: 2010 October 14, 20:13:21
I had a Sim marry a local in China and he came home with her and there were no problems. Several generations later my Sim was in France and met someone from Egypt there. Back home she invited him to visit and they married. The odd thing was after the visit he left and went back to Egypt. She invited him a second time and I used the cheat to add him to the household. So far, no problems.

72  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Where to find GOOD custom worlds? on: 2010 October 06, 07:04:43
I really like this one. I have downloaded and checked then deleted quite a few, and am keeping this one and adding to it.

I think it is very well done.
73  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAW Issues and Errors on: 2010 September 27, 17:37:54
That does make sense. It did not occur to me at first that CAW would need the 2GB update like the game does. I have been working more and painting with no crashes ... so that is good.

I do have one other odd thing, and that is the program is putting saves in a 9-24 backup folder. So, I have 9-25 and 9-26 saves in there. Very odd. I don't know why it is doing that, but now that I know it is doing that, at least can find them.

Thank you for the reply.
74  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / CAW Issues and Errors on: 2010 September 24, 19:20:19
I have the latest CAW and all of the sudden am having problems. If I open a world done before this version it crashes with terrain painting.

I have spent 2 days working on a new world and it just crashed when terrain painting. I went back to see how much was lost and cannot open the last save as it says it is a packed file! WTF? I did not pack it.

Needless to say I am darn irritated at the moment. Am I just lucky or is anyone else having this? Any solutions?

---------------------
Edit:  I used cff Explorer to allow CAW to use over 2GB and so far am terrain painting. I never had to do that with the old version. So, the main issue is why did the file pack when I did not do it???
75  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sim AI inconsistent on: 2010 June 21, 06:06:32
The AI in my game works well overall. I have it set at high autonomy and the Sims do not stand around and do take care of themselves normally.

The one exception seems to be the babysitters who must just stand there and do nothing, as the baby is totally in the red when left with a sitter way too often. They seem to be about as useless as the nannies were in 2.
