26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sporetrial and SecuRom on: 2008 June 18, 14:33:34
Thanks, Pes.

I always disable my connection if I'm not using the internet (whether or not I'm playing games). I'll remember this.
27  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sporetrial and SecuRom on: 2008 June 18, 14:21:42
So things can get through a connection while you aren't running the internet.
They can get through when you disable your cable internet connection? How? (I don't need the details, just a layman explanation.)
28  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The new version of Securom demonstrates just how borked it is (Mass Effect) on: 2008 June 16, 20:48:27
or mess with your computer...

I love this!!

My favorite part is that it seems to have a more than subtle Mayan temple character.  I don't know if you intended that, but I think it is very good and very suggestive of ancient Central American architecture.

Not to mention the games-as-a-sacrifice-to-the-gods.  Grin
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2008 June 08, 16:14:12
so Is it safe to reinstall my sims2 games?

Sure. And installing anything newer than Seasons will put SecuRom on your computer.
32  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Lot Impostor Challenge: Build the MATY Senate. on: 2008 June 03, 19:05:41
Ah, but they're easy to clean. The Senate can get awfully vicious, and there's rumor of blood sports. (Not that I would start any such rumors, or lend any credence to them at all.  Wink )

34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2008 June 03, 13:29:40
Am I correct in reading that you're playing with the newest FreeTime patch? Unless you have the no-cd crack for it, that just might be your issue.
35  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Lot Impostor Challenge: Build the MATY Senate. on: 2008 June 02, 17:16:10
If CC isn't allowed, then how are they to emulate the decor provided to the Senate? Ah, well, I'll just have to do it myself when I DL the winner.

I also think extra points should be given for putting the offices in the correct place (such as Jelenedra in a cubby next to the boiler room, etc).

<snip pic>

My eyes! Shouldn't that be "First Prize"? Or was there money involved?
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help?? on: 2008 June 01, 05:15:58
No offense taken. You do, however, want to be careful around here if you just aren't
really used to forums and such.

We poke. We bite. We mock. Some of us spit. Read the thread again. Read it word for word...all nine million pages of it. Then, if you don't understand, ask there.

If that seems too hard, do a search for "no cd" and variations thereof. You'll find more help there than you ever will by starting a thread called "Help??" at a place known for mean and bitchy people.
38  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Lot Impostor Challenge: Build the MATY Senate. on: 2008 June 01, 05:10:45
Maybe Gargoyles? Large scowly somethings at any rate.
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help?? on: 2008 June 01, 03:57:53
Sort of makes you wonder if I inspire fighting or not. Oh, wait. We've been through that before.  Wink
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help?? on: 2008 June 01, 03:44:27
geeze you don't have to be rude. I already looked, I was just asking if anyone could "help" me not insult me, but thanks anyway.
Besides those securom removal instructions didn't help. I can't even find the securom files. I just want to no-cd crack for the freetime patch.

1. I wasn't trying to be rude. I was trying to help, but I'm not going to do the search for you.
2. The SecuRom files are hidden, and I didn't say they were your issue.
3. Places to find the no-cd crack are numerous in the SecuRom thread. That's where I found mine. No, I can't tell you where. I read the thread and found it.
4. Good luck.

Maybe a hacked bed of some kind? Sometimes the LizzLoves bed has issues ... otherwise, I don't know.
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help?? on: 2008 June 01, 01:48:02
Since you're new here, let me introduce you to my friend, the Search button. You'll find it in the middle of the row of blue buttons or in the big white box above them. I'll even give you a hint...you're looking for the thread about removing SecuRom or any thread about no-cd.exes.
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Skin Problem.. HELP! on: 2008 May 30, 21:51:31
Or logical...since it's a modifier, not a noun.
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 May 30, 14:52:31
Ellatrue, that's not stupid, just an imperfect German translation. (Maxis included MATY fixes in the FT patch...I don't get the end, either.)
45  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 May 29, 17:13:10
I'll wait as long as it takes.

Oh, and a note on another site from the dead guy KevinTMC about the SuxRom / Need For Patch issue, because at least one of you may be interested:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are still some companies that respect their customers. Stardock (see http://www.stardock.com/products/?tab=mygames) comes immediately to mind; they have produced the highly-regarded Galactic Civilizations games (if you've ever been a Civ fan, you're liable to get hooked on those), the new hot title "Sins of a Solar Empire" which I've been meaning to check out, and others. They are proud of respecting customers enough to release games that have no copy protection...and that aren't bug-infested either. (They'd have been too proud and careful to release some of the Sims products, in their current states, as betas.) The lack of customer punishment copy protection hasn't seemed to hurt their sales...GalCiv 2 and Sins both rocketed up to the top of sales charts, and without massive ad budgets too.

They even have a no-DRM downloadable game service, TotalGaming.net, which I've used and would recommend without hesitation--it doesn't take over everything, doesn't seem to burrow deep into anything, only runs when I want it to like any other normal application. I used TG.net to acquire the fun Space Rangers games, so that I wouldn't get the nasty Starforce copy protection which had been used on the CD-ROM versions that Cinemaware Marquee released in this country.

Everyone makes mistakes now and then (there are some real dogs of games being re-distributed on TG.net along with the gems, for instance), and any organization is liable to eventually come down with a case of the evils; but so far in my experience Stardock and TotalGaming.net are teh r0x0rz. So when I become dictator if they ever asked me, I would insist that EA make a deal with these guys to fix up and then redistribute the Sims series via their online service. If the effort to repair Maxis' spaghetti code didn't suck up and exhaust all available talent and resources at Stardock, and cause them to collapse, that is...
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Skin Problem.. HELP! on: 2008 May 27, 22:27:52
Y'know, you said
But the thing is, I don't know what they're called, nor do I know where my Downloads folder is.. Sad
(Italics are my corrections...because I can.)

So Zazazu was telling you where they are. If you've moved your downloads folder, then how we would we know where you put it?

Not only do I think you need the Clean Installer, but were I you, I'd search my C: drive for the folder, delete the whole damned thing, and then seriously think before I downloaded anything more.
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Townies and downtownies not dying properly on cue on: 2008 May 23, 16:52:38
If you still have InSim, it's conflicting. It hasn't been updated for FT.

Cool Don't mind me...just saving this page for when I get back to my DL folder.
49  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Creepy Servo wears mask carved from unknown Sim head! on: 2008 May 08, 15:27:35
My servos have always had human faces in formal wear, I assumed it was intentional, if a little odd. Have you tried making him change clothes?

Do try this.
50  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2008 May 01, 16:19:34
...because if you do, and then install the game, you'll get SecuRom again. Which would suck.
