152  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dull looking objects on: 2006 October 25, 11:22:59
Exact same for me, but I got fixated on the apple sculpture.
Except, as I said, that now the thumbnail looks dull as well, so I don't know what I'm missing anymore.
Different installs, a 9800 radeon and now 800gto, different harddisk and video drivers (ATI).
153  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dull looking objects on: 2006 October 24, 17:30:39
I've had this problem for a long time now, and a different graphic card. Still ATI.
The thumbnails looked so good, the maxis apple sculpture for example, but now they look as dull as the objects.
Everything is on high too.
154  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: More Pets errors on: 2006 October 21, 23:48:15
Yes, I took it out. And visitorenabled mirror stopped the pets interaction with the mirror. That's why I could not get the prompt even with a Maxis mirror.
155  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: More Pets errors on: 2006 October 21, 22:55:20
I have the relationship decay error too, and not the hack.
And I haven't got any strays now.
And how is the collar supposed to work? The sim bought it, but there is no option to put it on, and it is not in the inventory. Another dumb question, I suppose.
156  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: anyone else have this? on: 2006 October 21, 13:36:52
My visiting pets sink to the ground, and I can't interact with them.
157  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Question for the awesome ones.... on: 2006 October 21, 13:35:49
Talking about cameras, I stupidly copied my saved custom camera over the new ones without saving. Did pets change anything that I would be missing on? And could a kind soul send me the contents of the new camera folder if so?
158  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building/Upgrading a PC for TS2 - Update, 08 September 2006 on: 2006 September 12, 17:32:34
Here I am again. I found a x800 gto on Ebay, as there were none to be had in stores.
Assuming I get it and it works, I need a power supply. One that is standard, but without a start/stop button as there is no place for it in the case, sturdy, reliable, efficient and silent. Seasonic is very popular in France, but is rather expensive.
What could you suggest? I'd go for 450w at least. And the ones I saw mentionned pciexpress connectors, but not agp. Should I go looking for outdated power supplies? Here is my current one again: http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim8300/sm/techov.htm#1102452
159  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building/Upgrading a PC for TS2 - Update, 29 July on: 2006 September 06, 20:02:10
Thank you. Right now the only x800 card I found was out of stock. And one customer advice stated it ran very hot.
Any other quality card?
Someone on a board said that nvidia needed less power, my eyes are getting tired. Maybe the same as mine with 256 instead of 128? But they seem to be difficult to find too.

160  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building/Upgrading a PC for TS2 - Update, 29 July on: 2006 September 06, 17:30:35
Thank you for your replies. On the page you linked to, the 8300 is stated as not needing a converter. If the European model is equivalent to the US one.
The Dell compatibles are expensive, specially if you add the $35 for delivery.
Just a graphic card would not be possible, would it?
Or a new central unit with just the cpu motherboard and graphic card.
161  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building/Upgrading a PC for TS2 - Update, 29 July on: 2006 September 06, 13:56:50
I have a 9800 128 radeon. If I wanted a better video card, say a radeon with 256, still an agp, which one should I go to?
And I suppose I would have to change my power supply(say, for a seasonic): http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim8300/sm/techov.htm#1102452
And would my cooling system be up to it? http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim8300/sm/specs.htm
And wouldn't it be too expensive?
So many experts here.  Grin
162  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: bodyshop question on: 2006 September 02, 11:51:09
If anyone is interested, it was 3 skins from a set that, in combination, created defaults that were not even exactly the same colour as themselves.
They had jumped to 11.5 mo.
An example of corruption I suppose.
163  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / bodyshop question on: 2006 August 31, 11:52:31
Hello, another dumb question.
Why can't I see the right replacement skin in bodyshop? It works for all colours except dark where I see not the Maxis skin, not my former replacement, but another one. Where must I look?
I checked in the game, in the thumbnail they have the right texture, but I can see the texture has changed on them.
I haven't changed my defaults, so could it be another skin blocking? I searched for defaults but the only ones were the normal ones.
164  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Disaperaing eyes on: 2006 August 29, 16:54:00
Yes, that's the texture I can't find. Open what? I open the user file?
Oh, the default file!

Grin My first steps with photoshop! I changed all the ages, off to see if it works (in 40 mns..)

By the way Gwill, I like your alien skin. Is it default? Can I download it? Is it Louis's?
165  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Disaperaing eyes on: 2006 August 29, 11:34:23
I've been trying to do Sleepycat's trick, but I'm so dumb I can't find the face to extract!
166  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: changing the genetic skintone after the fact? on: 2006 August 10, 12:55:12
Very easy to do with SimEnhancer, though.
167  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Yet another hair thread - OFB Hidden Hair Properly Binned & Animated on: 2006 May 13, 13:24:19
oops, I need new glasses. Thank you for pointing that out.
168  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Running OFB without the CD on: 2006 May 12, 15:27:19
I use game jackal. It's pay though. Well, sort of.
169  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No memory on: 2006 May 01, 13:05:01
What I mean is they have no memory of their woohoo, that's why I get the video each time, even with the same person.
Something must stop them retaining that memory. Maybe it does the same with other actions, I noticed because of the video.
170  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No memory on: 2006 April 30, 22:16:18
Maybe, but they keep no memory of it.
171  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / No memory on: 2006 April 30, 21:44:10
Do you know of any hack that could make the sims live any woohoo like their first? I am getting tired of the video.
I suppose it is one dealing with memories.
172  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Binned hair on: 2006 April 21, 11:45:34
Thank you for your answers.
I have lots of hair starting with 0x7f. Louis's, and others that don't match the textures.
I have lots of hair, and it will be long to find the right texture, specially as it seems to be different ones.
Could you give me a more detailed way of how you delt with this?
173  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Binned hair on: 2006 April 21, 01:40:00
Since I've binned my hair, there's a painted underlay to all the hairstyles, Maxis too.If the hair is short, it shows underneath.

These are the bald and spikes ones from Maxis
Any idea what I should do?
The blonde one is different, painted with a blank stripe from front to back.
174  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Alright, 'fess up! on: 2006 April 12, 14:41:28
3.95 gb, and 5gb for the object folder. I feel bad now.
175  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: crash when maximise on: 2006 March 31, 19:37:20
I have 1500gb memory, and it didn't use to do that. I rather think it's something to do with the drivers.
And sometimes I get a blue screen, but scrambled, blue and white.
