26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Window - Double Hung 0,0 <-- what is that? on: 2009 February 28, 16:12:50
This object has been causing problem to my game. Would someone please tell me what object this is? Is this from Store or any EP/SP?

*My problem is my dogs are sinking into the ground!
27  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Kitchen & Bath Stuff on: 2009 February 17, 16:57:24
I don't think it was "stupidity" that led to me getting a mac as so many of you have said. Maybe I'm alone in this, but The Sims 2 isn't the only factor I consider when choosing a computer. I chose a mac because it met all of my needs better than a PC. The ONLY drawback I've experienced is waiting for Sims 2 stuff to get ported. When I started this post I was talking specifically about the Kitchen and Bath objects in The Sims 2 store. I know that the objects from Celebration Stuff from The Sims 2 store work for mac and I was wondering if anyone had had similar luck with the Kitchen and Bath items. I'm not knowledgeable enough to get the objects to work myself. I can live without them, I just thought there might have been some other mac simmers that have gotten them to work.

In fact, I like Mac too... This summer, I may be getting a desktop to replace my old one and get one more notebook which will be a Mac!!!
28  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Broken M&G Window on: 2009 February 15, 11:50:28
Some digression here. If I remember correctly, there is a window borked by M&G. It's the triangular window that comes with OFB, and with M&G, that window becomes implacable on diagonal walls. Is there a fix for it yet Huh
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Vista and downloads on: 2009 February 15, 11:42:32
It takes time to get used to Vista... You may feel the OS starts a bit slow and it asks you a lot of questions concerning security issues. Infact, you can make it run faster by going to msconfig to choose which service to run and which not. You can also lower the security level but you will then put your computer at risk. If you are not good with computers, simply turn a deaf ear to me and bear with Vista Wink

Do you have an Intel based Mac? If yes, partition using Bootcamp and play in Windows. You'll be much, much happier with the experience.

And I've heard that you can play games for Windows on Mac by using a virtual OS. Am I Correct?
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hidden Skin? on: 2009 February 02, 09:41:11
I believe that is a career outfit in the Artist career. Caricature artist or Mime.

That means it's not a "lost and found" content. thx Cheesy

http://www.geocities.com/papillonwells/gaming/pwggame2b3b2.html

In the above site (credits to CSI), scroll down the page and you will find there is a picture depicting a male outfit with Body Shop as the background. But when you click on the link, you will have a page not found notice. I wonder if anyone else has made this hidden outfit available again? thx Grin
33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: M&G carpet failure on: 2009 February 01, 08:23:33
Because there seems to be no fix of this problem, I decided to make the M&G-rug as a recolor of another carpet.
I used a rug from FreeTime as original and in game it looks good. See the ingame-screenshot below:

I want to share this solution with you, so download at mediafire: http://www.mediafire.com/?bjymng3ynw3
I also want to upload this at ModtheSims2.com, so search there for user LadyFu  Wink

Is this a standalone object that replaces the M&G rug or a color option under the FT rug?
34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Um... How Many New NPCs Are There in Happy Holiday Stuff? on: 2009 January 29, 17:38:01
The Holiday Pack adds 3 new NPCs - Santa, Father Time, and Baby New Year.
Santa will arrive if you have a tree and bake holiday cookies. Send everyone to bed early, and keep a toilet free. He likes to pee.
Father Time and Baby New Year will arrive if you throw a Holiday Party.

Any holiday party or just new year bash for Baby New Year and Father Time?
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Um... How Many New NPCs Are There in Happy Holiday Stuff? on: 2009 January 29, 10:05:15
I know there is Santa Klaus who comes to visit you when there is some Santa cookies prepared for him.
But I've also heard about Father Time and New Year Baby? I know there are these kinds of outfits. But someone told me they are NPCs as well. Is that true?

I wonder how many NPCs there are and how to generate them? Thank you Smiley

YooHoo!!! You Rock, man!
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Any1 installed Sims 2 Store and EADM here? on: 2009 January 25, 11:30:30
Oh I see.... I have the old version of Store installed but don't dare to update it to the new version. My hunch is telling me it gonna mess up my Sims 2 games!

And Richief, I knew about the update at the homepage of Store. You will find a little notice on the right when you go to the website.

What's this? I just tried loading Mansion and Garden and it's saying I need to run the store edition.

Have you tried running with the Store Edition from start menu?
It's weird to run with Store since there is no disc for Store... Maybe you should contact EA for technical help.  Embarrassed
38  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: PS Masks & Hat on: 2009 January 12, 17:32:57
Wait... Did u mention incomplete masks Huh Cool, maybe we can find some good mesh maker here to complete them!  Smiley
39  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: PS Masks & Hat on: 2009 January 12, 12:12:55
I have wanted these forever! I always thought they were so much better than the facepaint that EA gave us.

IIRC, the masks were converted by SimBaby a long time ago. But no one has ever done that with the hat.
40  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: PS Masks & Hat on: 2009 January 12, 03:33:13
Oh lovely! Thx! It never occurs to me there is a new hat! BTW, are there any more new CAS contents from PS? I guess there are no new hairs and outfits. Huh Huh
41  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Art Nouveaulicious Collection on: 2009 January 09, 19:29:43
Telraven, I can confirm that doors and windows do let light go thru, just checked them in-game. I created a new folder in my Bins (named SimsClub_ArtNouveauEP99) and saved files there. I have a folder for each Sims Store collection (named SimsClub_CollectionName) in my Bins and all new windows and doors seem to work.

It doesn't work for me. I created 5 different folders, but my Asian and Art Nouveau windows and doors don't let light thru. I've got the same problem with the lamps, they don't give light.

It seems that only the Deco and Cubic works. The windows of the spooky and castle set don't work neither.

What Heli suggested was not merely about putting the files into 5 different folders. It is more than that! You are also supposed to name them as Heli has suggested so as to ensure the order the files are loaded. Of cox, u can change them into any names provided that the same loading order is preserved. The main point is this following order:

1 Deco and Cubic
2 Spooky
3 Castle
4 Asian Fusion
5 Art Nouveaulicious

*FYI, What affect the loading order of the files are the folder names. And that order follows the alphabetic order, i.e. folder with "A" as the first letter of the folder name should be loaded before those with "B"
42  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Art Nouveaulicious Collection on: 2009 January 09, 07:32:59
My point here is, someone plz *customized* the items before uploading them to avoid all those EA copyright shits. I strongly believe customized items are way better!

Or instead of going to all that trouble you could just ignore EA. Unless you're an idiot who has this account linked to who you are IRL, what are they going to do? Just ask you to take them down. *Shakes in boots*. As long as you don't upload it to the cheezeserver it's all good. People need to chill out with this being scared/intimidated/bothered by/of EA BS. Upload and move on.

Oh... that's right EA can't track me down who I am...  Grin

BTW, thx all!
43  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Art Nouveaulicious Collection on: 2009 January 07, 18:53:55
Give it a few days and there might be an update at demonoid's collection of Store Files.

Unless of course you aren't registered there. Open registration is closed at the moment and the store files are not accessible to non-members.

I'm sure that someone who is registered will put them up on MediaFryer for the rest of us. Wink

At least I will if I am in US or Canada or EA change its policy so that it accepts my Visa. But I am outta US or Canada.... So, no can do!

But if I were an US player and have points left out on my account, I wouldn't mind buying those new items, fixing them and then uploading them somewhere. I don't mean to be picky, but it is a fact that every single piece of items at the store are borked to some extent.

*Of course, the shared items are for those who own them already but long for fixes of them. Otherwise if you upload an untouched item to the site, EA will get you into trouble.

N.B. for me, no matter how slight the change it is, I will make some change to any Store item before uploading it. Say, I would change the catalog desciption by adding in "SiuPang" to every item's name, e.g. "SiuPang's Art Nouveau Windows". LOL
Then for those who hate me and do not want my name to appear in the objects' name, open SimPE to remove "SiuPang's" to make it back to "Art Nouveau Windows". But all the stuff that people do after downloading what I have uploaded is their business.

My point here is, someone plz *customized* the items before uploading them to avoid all those EA copyright shits. I strongly believe customized items are way better!
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Any1 installed Sims 2 Store and EADM here? on: 2009 January 07, 18:46:00
I just noticed EA is requesting all clients to uninstall and then redownload the whole Sims 2 Store program.
What is the difference of the new version? Anyone has tried that yet?
I guess EA has been so serious about those Store issues. It is possible that the new Sims 2 Store program only allows items bought via their site to show up in game. But the question is, I love putting some other custom contents into the Sims 2 Store folder and avoid the goofy asterisks. If my theory here is correct, EA is ruining my game! Someone please tell me if I am correct or not. Huh Huh Huh
45  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Art Nouveaulicious Collection on: 2009 January 07, 18:38:50
I'm guessing they are now incapable of making objects at all?

I'm thinking they just haven't gotten around to uploading them yet. The preview had at least one object in it.

ooops, where is the preview?

oh i see what u mean now. u mean the pictures under "clothing" of the store site. if i remember correctly, i have not seen the wall painting, the bar stool and the door (or is it a window?) before. I guess there are at least 3 new objects. But if we can expect 3, we can definitely expect more. EA will not create just a few items for a brand new collection. You know what? I am starting to wonder how borked those items will be..... Angry
46  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Art Nouveaulicious Collection on: 2009 January 07, 18:33:05
Have someone fix those skins plz. Many of those do not have all teen-adult-elderly versions and some of them even have bad meshes!

I am requesting a fix here. Anyone want fixed versions of them too?  Wink

BTW, has anyone else also got any of those items in this new collection?
47  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: PS Radio Controlled Cat Attractor - Updated. Added CS Radio Controlled Cocon on: 2009 January 02, 10:22:28
Mine is operational, but currently the ice swan does nothing.

Pescado. Is that yours has both the sound and effect working perfectly?
48  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Bonus item of M&G? on: 2009 January 01, 18:12:21
Thanks for finding the item rednotdead. Here is the decostumized bench.

Fixes:
  • Removed duplicate files.
  • Fixed price, depreciation.
  • Updated to Pets.
  • Compressed with The Compressorizer!.
  • Has its own Group Number.
  • Changed category, find it under "Seating > Miscellaneous".

Get the other two items here (Gnome) and here (Planter).

Edit:
I just checked the bench in-game, it displays wrong shadows. Unfortunately I'm useless with shadows. Hopefully Lord Darcy or Havelock'll find a fix to these, please?.

Thanks rednotdead and Richief.
Used Richiefs File and made additional fixes. Bench has now correct indoorshadows and all three recolors like the other parts of the Set.

  • Reworked Shadowsmesh.
  • Created Shadowstexture.
  • Added missing red recolor .
  • Made missing red Concrete Texture.

Sorry, I am a bit slow and can't catch up with some of the above points. What is "made missing red concrete texture"? Is there used to be a problematic concrete texture? Tongue
49  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection - do not share files using MATY server spa on: 2008 December 30, 10:48:33
I couldn't pay for them if I wanted to, 'cause I don't live in North America. EAxis doesn't want my money!

Sorry, but those items have to be modified before they can be uploaded.
50  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Bonus item of M&G? on: 2008 December 23, 18:16:01
Hey, you guys reckon you might be just a tad OTT about this here bench?  Roll Eyes

It's all about collecting stuff. When collectors fail to complete their collections, they will all find themselves losers as their lives will be turned dull and monotonous. Grin
