126  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Updated!!! CS "The Gourd of Oversized Dreams" for Sims 2 *not the Seasons one* on: 2008 October 18, 06:51:50
The Gourd of Oversized Dreams is a downloadable item for Castaway Stories available at the official site. Pic can be found here: http://sims.yahoo.com/downloads/castawaystories, the middle one.

Please unzip the file to the downloads folder. Found under sculptures of decorative and it costs $160. And to be frank, I haven't tested it so far. I just cloned it using Sim PE and edited its GUID. Not sure if anyone has posted this before.

Please help test the file for me. If it works fine or if it doesn't, let me know. Thx Wink

PS. Some issue found. To be fixed soon. Check back in an hour.

UPDATED! Thanks Havelock for pointing out the problem. I have now extracted the textures from CS, please redownload! The file should now work fine. Shown below is the comparison between the CS version (on the left) and the Seasons version (on the right) of the objects.

*in case you need to regenerate the thumbnail of the object, please use cheat "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" and Ctrl+right click the thumbnail.

Instruments by proxy GUID fixed that a long time ago, just make sure it loads after ls_buy.bundle (see the part about the bins folder on page 1).

Ooooh, I just checked my Downloads folder and found I still have some leftover Numenor SSN Guitar Hack... Maybe that's all coz of that!
The guitar is now working well!!! Thx, Argon! Grin

Youth: It turns you into a *12*!
I tried this once and it only took three days off my sim's life. The sim was only 3 days into adult, so I don't know if it got stalled at trying to go down an age, or what. I decided it was a pretty useless wish.
[/quote]

The last time I tried that when my Sim was 29 days from being an elderly, the Genie just added 3 more days to my Sim's life, i.e. 32 days from being an elderly.

Edit:
Anyone knows how to extract sound effects? I opened both "Sfx1" and "Sfx2" packages, but they only contain UNK files (and TRKS?) and some MP3s iTunes cannot play Angry.

Maybe Lord Darcy knows the answer. IIRC, he's made some sound fix for chairs before. Try PM him. We all look forward to a functioning Ice Block crafting table.  Wink
BTW, is it really impossible to convert the PS vending machine? I tried before, but it turned out to function exactly the same as the cell phone vending machine in University.
Is it possible to modify the Behavior Functions/Constants? Or does it have something to do with the uneditable Flow Trees Huh
130  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Too Many Visitors to My Lot. What's Going On? on: 2008 October 16, 16:47:19
Even more interestingly, while the code is there, I cannot find the part of the pie menu that actually invokes it, so it may not even be enabled.

I don't think it is enabled. The last time that I had an elder with a genie, I don't recall seeing that wish.

Me either. I can only see "wish for longer life" or something similar.
BTW, is it possible to reset any wishes made to the Genie? Say, by using SimPE?  Huh Huh Huh
131  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Too Many Visitors to My Lot. What's Going On? on: 2008 October 16, 16:39:34
Ahh.  This suddenly explains why this happened in my game.  I was taking out hacks etc trying to figure it out...

My poor sims.  They did not get to sleep that night thanks to about 15 people ringing the doorbell every hour.

Yeah... all coz of the Genie!  Tongue
And the only solution to let my Sim sleep is use some kinda objects to block the doorway. Poor me, I am doing that every night for my Sim.
132  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Too Many Visitors to My Lot. What's Going On? on: 2008 October 16, 07:31:53
One sim every few hours is normal walk-by frequency.  Not sure about the ringing the bell thing.  Mostly they should just walk past if you don't run out and greet them.  The frequency however is not outside normal parameters.  Have you tried the lot debugger (bat box) to see if there's anything you should nuke or fix?

Oh yea, that's my problem. Normally, there are just passers-by and these passers-by will not ring my bell.... But now, every passer-by does that! How annoying!

Haven't tried lot debugger yet. But does it have the function to reset those Genie Lamp wishes or reset all those visitors?
133  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 October 15, 18:22:52

But I have all the color options showing up in game even without any modifications Huh Huh Huh
134  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Too Many Visitors to My Lot. What's Going On? on: 2008 October 15, 18:19:55
Did you ask them to leave? Alternatively, Smite them! They might get the hint. Otherwise 2 or 3 smites = dead visitor.

No no... they do not all come at the same time, just one Sim every few hours comes to my Sim's home and rings the bell! So disturbing.... The visiting Sim even ring the bell during small hours!  Undecided
135  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Too Many Visitors to My Lot. What's Going On? on: 2008 October 15, 10:37:42
My Sim has had those visitors for more than a week already!!!

Just wonder if there is a way to reset the wishes?
136  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Too Many Visitors to My Lot. What's Going On? on: 2008 October 15, 04:37:06
I'm not quite sure since when has this been happening.... but IIRC, after my Sim has used the FreeTime Genie Lamp to be made wealthy and beautiful, there starts to have a random Sim visiting my lot every two to three Sim-hours. They even come during the midnight to disturb my Sim's sleep.

Is this a bug or sth? Can this be fixed?
137  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Proper Life Stories conversions (FT and AL) *up8 9-11-08 8:26pm on: 2008 October 15, 04:25:42
I'm not sure if this has been asked about before. Why can't I click on the Reward Guitar to open the pie menu or have to click on the amplifier instead Huh I guess there is some way to make the pie menu available both by clicking the guitar and the amplifier.
138  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: PS Radio Controlled Cat Attractor on: 2008 October 14, 20:04:11
Thank you very much for bringing us the object Wink

And I have some suggestion for making it better. I found that the thumbnail of the converted version looked different from the original PS version. And I guess it would be much better if the two thumbnails could be made consistent.

So, I would suggest adding rewardCatMagnetCar_thumbnail_mouseRCCarShape_cres inside X:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims Pet Stories\TSData\Res\3D\Objects05.package to the package.

Hope you will agree with me.  Grin
139  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: PS Dog Show Sign for TS2 on: 2008 October 14, 19:22:40
Hi, could you put the others objects that are in the photo above for download? I didn't find those chair and the cat's cristal paw in the others post! Please!

I guess someone has converted them too and so I never uploaded them here. The only one never posted is this Dog Sign show.
And for Life Stories stuff, I have an alternative version of the Reward Guitar that uses the Atavera's Custom Music Instrument Hack instead. I did it almost a year ago. I guess no one wants that version now.

If you really want other Stories conversions, just go the the main page of this forum and search "PS CS LS" and I guess you will end up with what you want.  Wink
140  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 October 14, 16:55:31
Here I have another craptastic store item to add to the collection; The SparkleMaster Jewelry Rack. Ie. the jewelry display from Bon Voyage. I've edited the OBJD 0x0040 field from the original 0x0400 to 0x001, 0x004, 0x002, and even 0x000 to no avail. It will show up ingame using all but 0x000, but, has no functionality, if I'm lucky enough that it doesn't cause the community lot my sim is visiting to reset to build mode or crash my game to a bsod. Ugh.

The version of the game that I am trying to use it in only has up to Seasons installed with all Stuff packs minus KBID and is running on a PC that does not have the piece of **** EADM installed on it. I am posting the file here with the hope that some kind modder will take a look at it to see if, and how, it's borked. Cheers!

*Edited to add: O.k. I may feel a bit silly here, but, if I do it's EA's fault for their lack of description for this object. After I posted it here I thought about the fact that it only had one OBJD entry and it occurred to me that it may literally only be a "display" rack meant to add to the jewelry display rack appearance options of the other two EPs that already have jewelry in them, FT and AL. If that's the case, and this does not even expand the jewelry collections of those two EPs to what BV has, then that's just pathetic. I would appreciate it if someone could confirm this theory for me. Thanks.

I dun quite understand. So this file just add some missing color options to the jewellery rack? It would be cool if there are pictures of them. Tongue
Anyway. "TS2 Store Stuff" here in this topic means items downloaded from thesims2store.ea.com. Maybe you have misunderstood the topic. But I do still appreciate your creation! Smiley
141  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Toddfx's 13" Monochromic Television - Updated for AL on: 2008 October 08, 14:01:54
Wow, thx for updating this awesome cheap TV! I used to love it a lot in Sims 1!!!

Ooooh, I've really missed having this TV in my game. The CD drive just went out on my computer (today), but I'll give it a shot once I get my game up & running again.

Indoor Girl, maybe you should use a no-CD file. It's far more convenient than finding the disc everytime you play the game.  Wink
142  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / PS Dog Show Sign for TS2 on: 2008 October 05, 17:27:25
Here is the Dog Show Sign which is a storyline object and is thus not available in buy mode in Pet Stories.
The sign can now be found under "Decorative -> Miscellaneous" and costs §3000 in Sims 2; functions exactly like other sculptures.

Unzip to "Downloads" folder, or if you dun really like the custom asterisk, unzip to "*X*:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 *Lastest EP/SP*\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins"

Pic here:

Have fun!
143  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Apartment Life Lovebed and Preorder TV need fix for their catalog thumbnail on: 2008 September 27, 18:02:29
I hate that EAxis always secrew things up!

Has anyone notice that the lovebed has an awkward shadow in its catalog thumbnail? And that the pre-order TV redeemed from "http://thesims2.ea.com/getcoolstuff/redeem_download.php?codeType=EP8DEZTV", has a weird blue and slightly transparent screen in its thumbnail?

I wonder if anyone more awesome than I am has fixed these issues or has managed to do so? Thx a lot.
144  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Fixed Object Shadows *Work In Progress* Update 4 on: 2008 September 24, 08:54:37
can't download from 2shared.com coz many jackasses from *my country* have abused their website causing an ultra large amount of file transfers!!!   Undecided

I am from Hong Kong, and I guess the *my country* is China.... But *Hong Kong* is indeed very different from China although it's part of China now....  Undecided Undecided
145  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 September 17, 05:43:50
siupang, I would try your file but mediafire says your folder is empty. Sad
I'll have to give Numenor's CEP file a try and see what happens.
BTW, on his CEP post he does mention that some rocks get overwritten by new ones in the game and that CEP should restore them. In my game I have two rocks in the catalogue and three that can be dug up.

Sorry about the empty folder... I'll look into that later and I will probably re-upload the file.

BTW, Numenor did mention the lost of the garen rocks. When you download the manual installation version, there is a folder called CEP documentation and you choose the pdf about extras and scroll down the slides and you will find a page about the missing or bugged objects.
146  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 September 16, 14:58:10

Ooops... sorry, my bad... i did it first Tongue
147  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 September 15, 18:50:57
^Havelock says YES

Not really.... Or maybe I am wrong... Anyway, I made a test, cloning the OfB column: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=bd1e0df125bd94deab1eab3e9fa335ca5ca6a50f8e59e1a3

Simply unzip the .package file to X:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 FreeTime\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins

At least this made my column show up again.

Well, besides, I've also checked the news and details list of CEP and found there's another missing item, the Garden Rock from Seasons.
Anyway, I guess the fix can also be obtained by downloading the CEP manual installation version and look under the Extra folder. Remember to follow the instruction for installation otherwise you will end up having the awkward custom asterisks with your objects.  Grin

Sorry, I ran out of money before I could snag the Your Not Welcome Door.

Oh, don't mention it, you got enough already. Smiley

The door and column don't work in Bins either (and I don't have an EA Store folder, I thought the 3rd patch for FreeTime created it?) and I *think* the big column, which does show up, overwrites the Simply Round Column from OFB. (Simply Round Column is gone, and the new one uses its catalog description)

My OFB two story column has been missing since I installed Free Time, so it may not necessarily be completely the fault of these spook objects that it is missing (though I find it interesting that it is using that catalog description... me thinks EAxis made a goober in Free Time to prepare for the TS2 Payshit site)

Hmm I don't have that problem.

I see it listed as "column of duplicate doom" in my game with the correct description. The "simply round column" still shows up in the columns section.

What EPs do you currently have installed? Just wondering to see if my theory is short of the mark.

Yea... I just checked. I have all EP and SP installed and even the nasty Store Edition... And my OfB mulitstory column is missing even before I install the Spooky Column.
Well, I am now starting to wonder how many more objects are missing with FreeTime!? Angry
149  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 September 02, 21:53:34
I had points left in my account and downloaded some lights and the following build mode and lighting stuff:

Build Mode Stuff
Column of Doom
Column of Duplicate Doom
Visitors Unwelcome Door
Cracks in the Pain Window
Twice the Cracks in the Pain Window
Rectangular Cracks in the Pain Window
Forlorn Cracks in the Pain Window
Boarded Up Window
Enter With Dread Door

http://www.mediafire.com/?sw70yxximz8

mmm your zip is missing the Visitors Unwelcome Door

I am not sure whether it's really missing or not since I haven't installed them to the game. But from what I see in the .zip file, there are nine .package file. Isn't that all of 'em?

I've got a question, is the "The Decadent Dresser by Decorama Designs" a new exclusive item to Store?
