26  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Creepy Doll in ur files messin with ur Sims3Packs on: 2010 June 15, 17:13:38
MTS had a thread, but they've locked it. There ARE lots at MTS with the doll, but Delphy has personally checked them all and is sure everything is clean.  Roll Eyes

I guess it's really no problem if everyone gets infected with this damn doll and passes it around. All I can say is my game stopped crashing right after I removed it.

Has anyone made buyable sim bots yet?

Answering my own question, not quite buyable but easier to get here: http://sims3tinkers.com/?page_id=2

As a six, my parents took me to the drive-in, and the feature film was Barbarella. I am usually sleep by the time the feature started, but I woke up just as the scene started with the killer dolls. That was too much for my F'ly, six, mind and have hated big, walking dolls since.

When that download came up, I completely bypassed it. Remind me of past trauma.

I'm not sure you quite understand. You don't have to download the doll to have it installed. It attaches itself to Sims3Packs. The creator of the lot/Cas part/whatever doesn't even know it's there. You won't either unless you check every Sims3Pack with Delphy's tool. You have to check installed content under the launcher to see if you have it in your game.

I think those killer dolls would be awesome for Sims3.

I would assume everyone's already done this, but getting rid of bad CC fixed my crashing problem. It was specifically the creepy TSR doll that attaches itself to Sims3packs.
30  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Creepy Doll in ur files messin with ur Sims3Packs on: 2010 June 11, 21:30:42
That's true, but this thing is showing up in MTS lots too. People don't know they have it and pass it on to others, like a creepy little virtual STD I guess.
31  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Creepy Doll in ur files messin with ur Sims3Packs on: 2010 June 11, 14:19:54
Most people who have the doll didn't download it, it was attached to a Sims3Pack. I think it appears in the toy section of your game. I found it under installed content in the launcher and uninstalled it there. It doesn't pop up in houses as far as I know. Some sheeple are complaining that it messes up their game. I had lots of game crashes and a corrupted neighborhood, but I can't be sure that it was due to the doll.

Just use Delphy's tool to check and fix sims3packs before installing them.

It's really TSR's fault because they suck and are evil. Rebecah was dumb to go there, if she'd uploaded it at MTS2, the problem would have been solved in days, not months.
32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Creepy Doll in ur files messin with ur Sims3Packs on: 2010 June 11, 03:32:25
Rebecah who now sucks because she's moved to TSR has managed to infest thousands of games with her creepy little doll.

Check out installed content in your launcher. The vile little thing doesn't show up in downloads. Uninstall it and then check any Sims3Packs with this: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=390235
33  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2010 June 07, 21:23:34
Read through this thread at MTS: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=389680

If you're already using the non-default skintone hack, it's really easy to alter it to also increase the body sliders. It also works with Ambitions in the My Documents mod folder in my game.

These are another very nice addition: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=391737&goto=newpost&postedt=1#post3075318

Recolors of the original EA rabbitholes in Tudor style.
35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Springville on: 2010 February 16, 15:41:38
I really like this world, the different plateaus are great. It's by far the best world I've tried out.

Some of the lots are oddly shaped however and I can't quite fit what I want to on them. I'm wondering if you could upload the CAW files so I can put in lots the size I need. Stupid EA, should have made lot resizing and deleting part of the game, but of course they didn't.
36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2009 December 31, 22:50:59
My firewall is Norton 360, lame and a resource hog I know. I did have trouble installing my own world via the launcher though. I had to use Delphy's tool finally.
37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2009 December 30, 14:26:46
Maybe I should add that I have retail versions of both games, some store content grabbed from here and I've never downloaded anything from EA directly, not Riverview, CAW or even my "free" sims points.
38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create-A-World Tips, Tricks, and Annoyances on: 2009 December 28, 17:49:17
For 24-bit png conversions, you can use paint.net, it's free: http://www.getpaint.net/

It's less intimidating than gimp IMO.
39  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Installing pirated store stuff? on: 2009 December 28, 17:39:12
I usually try to stay out of the fray here, but the method suggested by snowbawl is simple and easy to undo. It should always be tried first. The conversion to packages is tedious and hard to undo. It should be considered as a last resort.
40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2009 December 27, 21:32:10
Thought I'd also add that my Launcher seems to be working fine. I've blocked it with my firewall, you have to do it for both the base game and WA, but I've been able to install a world and some lots from MTS.
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2009 December 26, 19:15:17
Following the instructions here, I was able to update to the newest patch, keep all my CC and get CAW. I used the dbc folder and updating the resource.cfg method to make all my Sims3packs show. It's worth noting that only "alternative" sims store downloads were affected. I moved Riverview to the Non-packaged folder in Program Files, so I don't know if that would have been an issue or not.

Baaa, for all the advice given here.
42  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod 2.28 expiration coming soon. on: 2009 December 19, 01:37:40
Pescado does whatever the hell he wants, hence the expiration. You can use Twallan's no cd hack to circumvent it. It worked for me until I was ready to update to the 1.79 patch. He's flounced to a new site apparently, I don't have the link handy.
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Custom eyebrows on: 2009 August 02, 14:39:34
I'm glad to have the no eyebrow option. That alone should have made it MTS worthy.
44  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TUTORIAL: Merging the Maxis neighborhoods. on: 2008 September 01, 14:49:10
Well this actually seemed to work! I couldn't find a hood with Riverblossom attached, so I did it myself. I used the maxis cleaned up hood templates, and it works in the vanilla game. Baaa!

46  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Default Medieval Townies & Base Game NPC's for all. on: 2008 July 17, 18:05:53
Hexameter over at MTS2 has been making NPC replacement vehicles: http://hideki.modthesims2.com/member.php?u=75890

Are these compatible with your replacement NPC's? If I could combine your Scotia NPC's with this, it would be perfect.
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 December 22, 16:21:27
EA has merged the SecuRom forum into the Technical Help forum.

http://bbs.thesims2.ea.com/community/bbs/messages.php?threadID=b063b8844056800bf5bc9501dc6175df&directoryID=21&startRow=1&openItemID=item.21,root.1,item.61,item.104,item.41,item.127,item.23

They say it's because the traffic has slowed in the SecuRom forum. They're probably hoping that it will get lost in all the stupid questions over there.
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 December 08, 13:43:17
I saw the additional tools. Does anyone know if they work on Vista?
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 December 07, 17:11:39
Has anyone noticed  that couff couff > me sure if saying EA the sims site is a bad word or not..lol  ..But they have issued a SecuROM uninstall tool available.

Has anyone checked this out yet. Will this uninstall the entire game?

Thanks

Apparently, it only works for the SecuRom specific to BV. It doesn't work for the infestation due to Deluxe, H&M or Pet Stories. You also have to have the BV disc, so anyone who took up EA on their refund offer is out of luck. EA seems determined to fuck this up every possible way it can.  Roll Eyes
50  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 October 18, 21:14:48
How can I be sure it's gone? I think I got it all, but I would love to have a complete list of everything to search for to be sure. I've already checked for "uaservice7" and "SecuRom" followed Li'l Brudder's steps... Being entirely un-awesome and having mucked about in my registry with no smoke spewing out of my machine, I'm wondering if I missed something. I still have a folder in my registry:

It did have a SecuRom folder under Software which I deleted. It also looks differently (with all the essential folders under it) than others I've seen . It's possible that i f***ed it up and did something more un-awesome than usual.

If in fact it is gone, my Norton still fails. I have some more complicated steps to follow from Norton Tech help. We'll see if that works.
