76  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: Instruments by proxy GUID [Update 8-16-08 7:02pm] on: 2008 August 16, 20:17:53
No I mean the pulse from the speaker like on stereos, not the sound that's played.

ETA: New version released.

EDIT2: For a quick and dirty conversion of Atavera's hack instruments use the table below for original GUIDs and delete the set category whatever line in the lead init bhav or change it to a no-op. It would probably be a good idea to replace the reset bhav with one for that object though (see argon_instrument hack.package for reference). Guitars need to have 2 bhavs replaced on their accessory (the 2 tests). Here's the contrabass for proof of concept, it's not necessarily finished but it functions. Pianos have a set category since BV, so you'll probably have to change the init bhav, but I don't know off the top of my head what it's supposed to be.

Fallback object GUIDs:

InstrumentMain GUIDLead GUID
Bass0x2EA762E80x6EF2C707
Drums0x8EA66F900xAEA6708F
Guitar *0x4EA0E8580x6EF2CC17
Guitar (Seasons)*0x324D0D870x324D0D83
Guitar (Life Stories)*0xD23012850xF2301286
Piano*0x11DEFEE40x0A7D020B
Grand Piano (BV)*0xF2F1D4550x72F87689
Modular Synth (FT)0xF405297FN/A
Violin (FT)*0x7405298DN/A

* All guitars are treated the same way in globals, the same goes for pianos.
* Cloning the bow is optional.

Other useful guid references:
0x4E9D0C46 - tip jar
0x8e9ba383 - Band controller

EDIT3: Drums barf unless you replace watch and watch test bhavs. Proof of concept acoustic guitar and conga drums, as well as contrabass with reset bhav. Does anyone know if watch on those conga drums ever worked in the first place?

EDIT4: Violin has been completed, all guid checks have been modified to two bhavs (like guitars).

EDIT5: wow I'm stupid haha, the proxy guid is listed as fallback guid in the object definition. If you were looking at the raw data view and changing the values on proxy guid 1 & 2 you'll be fine. It's been too long since I started writing this monster Roll Eyes
77  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: Instruments by proxy GUID [fixed missing download] on: 2008 August 16, 10:01:43
Just wanted to say that I've been working on an update that should make cloning a little easier. It's just so you won't have to go guid reference hunting in all those bhavs.

Oh and does anyone know why the music effects crap out on the bass for high creativity sims after a while? The EAxis code does it too, both low and medium skill work fine.
78  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: CS Stove, Rocks, Plants and More! on: 2008 August 16, 09:52:36
When I place the exercise machine indoors, the object gets a flat black base on the floor.
However this only happens indoors and not outside.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

This is weird, I'm going to check the package and see what can I do to solve it.

That's the ground shadow, you either have the material definition pointed to the wrong texture or the texture is missing if that's happening (could also be that the UV map for the mesh is wrong).
79  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 August 16, 09:29:09
It's exclusive, but it's not new.
80  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Fix: Buy/Build/CAS/Nhood - Play the Right Music Stupid! on: 2008 August 16, 09:24:15
Stumbled across this, it appears to sort out the bug where music is being played from the wrong category (CAS music in Nhood view, Buy music in Build, etc.) that's been around since Nightlife came out. Needs Pets or higher.

It's bugged me for ages, don't know about anyone else.
81  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Proper Life Stories conversions (Freetime) *up7 8-11-08 12:19pm on: 2008 August 16, 07:33:19
I'll probably do the Pet Stories objects, but I don't think I'll do Castaway. Right now I'm trying to figure out how the track references work so I can add in the 2 radio stations from PS.
82  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Proper Life Stories conversions (Freetime) *up7 8-11-08 12:19pm on: 2008 August 14, 20:09:16
Is the LS guitar included in this bundle? Do I need to kill it with fire in SimPE?

Yes it's included, you can either make your own hider or ignore it. No globals are modified in the LS bundle, so whatever is causing your problems, it's not the guitar.

after determining that it was either Atavera's custom instruments of awesome or the LS mediocre guitar,  I pulled ls_guitarplay and your instruments by proxy GUID hack.

Atavera's hack has not been updated for Freetime, so it's highly like there will be a BFBVFS with instruments since they added some with this EP. Not all the required references to the instruments in the instrument globals and band controller were changed by Atavera, I'm just guessing he stopped when it looked like it was working.

ETA: ls_guitarplay is meant for Atavera's hack, not mine. Do not mix and match. RTFM on page 1.

Now, no one can dance while someone is playing the base game piano without freezing and then resetting both player and dancer. No error log is generated. Dancing to music and dance animations seem fine.

Most likely culprit is tight pants or hack conflict, it works fine for me.

When trying to delete the guitar in game, with no instruments at all on the lot, I get this:

image snipped

What do I need to do to make this guitar GTFO?

You're using a LS object on the lot and you can't get delete it because everything is in one file.

Side note: the reason other custom instruments blow up with instrument by proxy guid hack is likely because the init bhav makes reference to a non-existant bcon ("custom instrument" category) in Atavera's hack or because they changed the reference to the original EAxis instrument that it was cloned from. If you absolutely can't live without an instrument, I can see about updating it to work with that.

http://www.mediafire.com/?vdc9ebv75zm

Just wanted to point out that it's possible to recycle the existing meshes and not have to duplicate them. My building shrub texture is awful but it's better than nothing, low detail and neighborhood view also work by adding some lines to the shape references.
84  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 August 11, 18:36:30
It's highly likely that I won't change much, if I end up doing it at all. I'll probably end up packaging them all into one file and change the diagonal guid for the curtains to one of the ones that was dropped (Havelock said he created a new one?) They all work in the bins folder and there's nothing wrong with them that I've seen, so I don't see a reason to.
85  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Proper Life Stories conversions (Freetime) *up7 8-11-08 12:19pm on: 2008 August 11, 18:26:06
Updated, includes Havelock's baliwood living chair fix and renamed the leather sofa mesh groups as per Lord Darcy's request.
86  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 August 11, 08:53:42
Thanks Argon Cheesy Still waiting for your version of the objects Smiley.

On my to do list, but not high priority with fall semester coming up. I'm just playing with the object packages in "%ProgramFiles%\EA Games\The Sims 2 Store Edition\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins" and haven't really used them yet.

I'm confused over afhairshortasymmetrica, seeing as there are so many different versions of it. Which one has both normal and hideous streak versions for all colours and adult and elder ages (and is descustomised)?

At the moment, there is no real complete set of streak and streak-less afhairshortasymemetrica. There is a recolored version of it without streaks on InSimenator.net linked earlier in the thread, but these do not match the colors of the original textures. I have a package that replaces the textures for blond and gray but does not touch red and brown. Eventually I plan on creating a set like you've described with the streaked versions under the custom category in change appearance, but hidden in bodyshop and CAS (just like the Maxis hair).
87  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: A few of Argon's private hacks [Updated 8-4-2008] on: 2008 August 08, 21:06:35
ihad en error whrn visitors tried to change clothes, I guess removing autonomy to the change clothes interction of this mod solves the problem.

Can you describe that a little more? It's kinda hard to fix if you don't tell me anything  Tongue If they started the action at all, then it's some other mod conflicting.
88  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Proper Life Stories conversions (Freetime) *up6 8-6-08 4:13pm on: 2008 August 07, 06:39:51
That would be great, since when I tried, I made the changes to the GMND and created a material override but it never showed up  Cry
89  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 August 07, 04:48:09
Updated collections with the cubic and deco icons from the store page, and corrected object sort order  Grin

Haven't been making much progress on the CEP, perhaps someone more knowledgeable would be able to do it?
91  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Proper Life Stories conversions (Freetime) *up5 8-5-08 5:05pm on: 2008 August 06, 08:31:27
is ls-UpdatesFT3 a file to keep or delete  Huh

It can be deleted, it's been included in the main package.

Fixed. Rug Mesh displays  the texture the same way as the placed texinfo.

 Grin Havelock you're my hero
92  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 August 06, 03:54:20
I've updated the main post with what I think are the latest downloads, if someone could check them out and confirm that it would be great.

I just skimmed through it but they seem to be all up-to-date.  That is, except the Cubic TV, which doesn't seem to be updated to Freetime.  I don't know if that has been fixed anywhere else in this thread, or if it's supposed to be a DIY.

EDIT: This collection has an updated TV:

My link is http://www.mediafire.com/?jzzzd3vzzxt

Television_Floor_Cubic.package in that link does not have FT functions, but TelevisionCubic.package in the older link does.
93  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Proper Life Stories conversions (Freetime) *up5 8-5-08 5:05pm on: 2008 August 05, 22:22:59
I'm just having a question if I have Altavera's music hack do I need to install ls guitarplay.package or not?

Yes.

ETA: Update 5 has been posted, includes shadow fixes by Havelock, and the 2 ls downloads.
94  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: proper Life Stories conversions (Freetime) *up4 8-3-08 1:59p on: 2008 August 05, 05:17:59
AFAIK, the only thing that doesn't exist in Argon's version is GiftBox from Numenorian version, which I think isn't a buy mode/reward object in the first place. Probably an accessory object.

Havelock found and finished the hidden LS reward painting which EAxis recycled as an exclusive LS download.

I could have sworn I saw that painting in my game before I started dumping objects, that's why I didn't include it. So it's not just a recycled Maxis object? Also, I've got the lamp, I just need to assign a group to it. It might take a while for me to update again, at least until I get my school books and loan processed  Tongue

Argon i have made a wallshadowfix for the shakely dresser, but you have two Shape files for him in your bundle. The only working one is dresserShakely_dressersmall_shpe i have removed the Shape with untagged in it now the wallshadow works. There is another rar included use it if you like.

Oh ok good, I thought it was CRES error. Since the wall shadow is working, the model just needed to be pushed further out from the wall.
95  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: A few of Argon's private hacks [Updated 8-4-2008] on: 2008 August 04, 10:56:44
Townie brick updated, new features:

-Print report with token values for sleep outfits
-Add count to each token (ie. set your Sim's autonomous sleep outfit without sending them to bed! Also useful since the naked token works even if the menu option isn't available)
-Clear all sleep outfit tokens

can the tv be made recolorable?  i have recolor of it i like to use  Undecided

an just how do you go about recoloring the objects that are recolorable?  Huh

Life Stories CEP now in progress, but until it's done recolors for objects that weren't recolorable won't work.

Umm.. I don't use recolors but I'm guessing through SimPE's object workshop.

Update FT4 posted.

Now if I could only update the page once without blowing the formatting up...

EDIT: TashaFaun... you're not using "ls guitarplay.package" and "argon_instrument hack.package" at the same time are you?
98  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: proper Life Stories conversions (Freetime) *up3.1 8-2-08 10: on: 2008 August 03, 19:01:56
Also, is it the not-updated-to-FT custom instrument hack that's causing the error message when I buy the guitar?  My sims can't do anything with it once it's bought.

Atavera's hack conflicts with Pescado's tipping fix, that's probably what's causing the errors.

I would also like the report the strangeness of the guitar. It doesn't come with an amp and it just lays on the floor. I can click on it but of course the sims can't do anything with it sans amp.

What EPs do you have? I had that happen originally when the object initialized incorrectly, but I'm pretty sure you need University or Seasons for the guitar to work. If not that, I'm guessing you have a hack conflict somewhere... maybe an older version of the guitar?

Also, working on the update as we speak.
99  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Pie menu not showing up on guitar accessory on: 2008 August 03, 10:10:33
Ok, so if you've ever noticed, on the guitar that came with University, you can click on either the guitar itself or the base with the amp thingy. However, with the Seasons career guitar or the Life Stories guitar, you can't.

Looking at the guitar accessory, it seems like the menu doesn't have anything preventing it from appearing and it just pushes the interaction on the base... but for some weird reason, it doesn't show up.

LS Guitar from here: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,12631.0.html and instrument hack from here: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,12644.0.html

If someone can help me figure out why the pie menu won't show up on either the LS guitar or Seasons guitar, I'd really be grateful.
100  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: A few of Argon's private hacks [Updated 2-24-08 again] on: 2008 August 03, 07:40:14
No I didn't, I found out what was causing the resets though... I had apparently attached a bcon that I was using to keep track of all the npc families and forgot about it, it was unrelated to the brick and it got changed with Freetime. I should update that thing again since I keep getting those stupid stuck stink emitters for dogs again, give me a sec while I find it.

Edit: attached, also new version of pescado's sleep clock as of 6-28-08 11:27pm.
