TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: WTF Snow shouldn't be on that!

@fway All windows and doors get snow on top of them, it doesn't matter which side is on the inside because the snow system is stupid and puts it on top of the whole mesh. I might just disable it for doors/windows too if anyone seconds it. I haven't looked at magazines and photo albums but they're probably snow disabled so you can see them when Sims pick them up to look at them.
@floopyboo I'm just doing EAxis objects so it's easier to update in the future, but it's easy to add the flag to other objects. You just need to set "My flags field 3 to literal 4 (not affected by snow)"; the raw for that is 62000400000903070000000000000000. I wish Pescado would do his debugger and macrotastics boxes like that so you can actually see them in winter...
@kiki That's unrelated.
@Alex Umm it might be possible to make a season specific model or texture like the bushes and trees, but I'm not very good with meshing/texturing. The only other option would be to disable it completely.

This hack removes the snow effect during winter for certain objects where snow really shouldn't be accumulating. The biggest offender is the snow covered penguin that visits every so often in winter, it's irritated me ever since Seasons came out. The runner up is the university kicky bag, where the snow bounces and rotates as it's being kicked around.
List so far: Penguin Kicky bag Anything that uses the accessory globals init
Let me know what other objects you guys want fixed.

Known issue: Tinkering is still unavailable for custom stereos.
*tinker by proxy guid hack magically appearsIt works for any clones with intact fallback guids for the expensive stereo, moderate (single tile), and the vintage stereos. For reference: 0x9AC9AA83 stereo expensive 0x2C7B5B6B stereo moderate 0xD3EB1C4C stereo woodcomfy UPDATE: added check for NL Jukebox (not by GUID though, it's by Valid EP Flag 1 not being set to 1 so clones won't accidentally be enabled.)

Umm that's a good question, it's been so long since I've looked at any of these hacks so I don't remember. I still have Argon_zomg-nekkid in my downloads folder so my best guess is that note is actually meant for something else (sleep naked maybe? that one did get merged with smart beds, but I don't use TwoJeff's hack anymore so I dunno).

Sorry I've been so late it getting around to updating this. I've been working on cleaning out the junk files, apparently some University textures that are in LS got copied over to the build package. Quite a few meshes and unused textures in the buy mode stuff too.
Things to look forward to: more linked textures, lights, meshes, missing mesh group and texture on the espresso machine fixed, lightened shadows on the baliwood sofas, and non-global solution for the coffee machine motive bonus (also adjusted to account for the motive bar difference between the real game and LS; less cheaty!).
If Havelock's around, the bar has an unused mesh group.
ETA: New version uploaded

Risking the scary man to ask -- Argon, I found a hack in my downloads called 'argon arch'. I have no idea what it is, where I got it, or if it's even needed anymore. What is it?
It is a fix for the 'arch' face templates that EAxis 'forgot' to include for children and toddlers. I am sure it is still needed. Are you sure it wasn't "argon_archfix.package"? That one fixes 2 of the templates to show up on all ages (was only on adult/young adult). Otherwise I think it might be the test package I made to demonstrate how to add new archetypes, if that's the case it's a set made from my self sim and it isn't needed unless you want random Argon-looking townies (unless you replace the meshes with something else of course). That was more of an "oh look this is cool!" hack because someone asked how to do it and no one else had done it before.

Someone will have to remake the higher resolution textures, find a file that has the missing LIFOs, or delete the references in the TXTR and use the remaining mip map textures (think Numenor's LS object conversions, it's the same thing he did and that's why the textures were so lame).
Finding the missing LIFOs is the preferred option but highly unlikely.

I've yet to acquire the latest lies and propaganda, so it might be a couple days. I wonder if they fixed the violin music bug.. nah that's hoping too much. I know part of it is going to be EP checks for in the zone stuff, but I can't imagine any radical changes to the instrument code.
EDIT: Tada! I need to get around to making a universal version... this will work for Apartment Life until then, delete the old one.

Part 2 of the no-streak replacement texture set. Here are brown and red.
If anyone wants to see if they can improve any of them, I can provide the Adobe Photoshop CS3 psd files.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Maxis hair and clothes have disappeared.
|

The only items I have downloaded are some of the hairs and clothes from the EA store that were posted on this site. I did not use the EA store itself. Some of those items didn't show in the game though, so I deleted the clothes that weren't showing one by one through CAS. There was also one of the hairstyles that I didn't like so I deleted that in CAS too but it removed all of the EA store content and so I had to go back to the my downloads folder and install the hairs again, except for the one that I didn't like. Maybe I shouldn't have deleted the EA store content from CAS. Would that really affect the content from the original game?
If it was my set that you downloaded (had a bunch of files named things like Sims02.package, globalcatbin.bundle.package, Skins.package, etc.) you just did a very bad thing since it cross-references files from the main game to save space. Also, make sure you didn't copy those files into someplace other than downloads if you don't have the Store Edition (which is basically an empty stuff pack) or you could overwrite game files. Either way, the meshes in your game files are hosed and you need to reinstall your game, that long hair for females that you keep seeing everywhere is the failsafe mesh that shows up when there's a missing reference somewhere. In game delete button causes BFBVFS! Find the files yourself and delete them that way.

Thanks for decustomizing exchange stuff. I did wonder what is wrong with that SNS preorder raincoat mesh, but I was unsure about how to fix it. I didn't realize that FFS dress used Uni dress mesh either. Can I include your superior versions for SNS Raincoat and FFS Dress in mine? As for SNS swimsuit, I think you converted the version of Property Sets to pre-Pets.
The mesh is never seen on adult sims since it's a young adult only outfit, that's probably why you never knew. Feel free to include them Lord Darcy Oops! I forgot I did that... wait, why did I do that? Huh, it's been so long I don't remember lol. Lord Darcy it means the original Dress has 3 Subsets and 3 Materialdefinitions but the 3IDR has only one Materialdefinition listed wich causes Skintone layered under the alpha Part. Its the same as with the Seasons Female Rockstar Outfit.
I think the material definitions themselves were wrong too, I remember having to change the blending mode so it wasn't "ghostly".

*Argon shamelessly double postsTypo in the documentation, it's "Fallback GUID" not "Original GUID". To make up for my double post, this will be edited later for instructions on how to properly clone new objects. Load SimPE and go to Extra-Preferences, then click on the FileTable 1. Click add, Load File..., and choose argon_instrument hack.package from your downloads folder, click ok 2. Check the box next to the instrument hack package. (if you want to clone the ls guitar, repeat the process for ls-buy.package) 3. uncheck all boxes except, CEP, Original, University, Seasons, and Freetime 4. click reload at the top right corner (it will turn gray) 5. click ok and open up an object workshop window. Check to make sure the fallback guids match the list for the main guid and the lead tile. Guitars and the Violin have additional accessories that must be cloned, but it doesn't matter if you do or not and you can use any accessory (assuming it matches the instrument type). Cloning the bow on the violin is optional. "Check Accessory GUID" and "Create Accessory GUID" bhavs must be modified to match the accessory you want to use. On Violins, line 1 is the violing, line 2 is the bow. EDIT: Attached BV compatible version (maybe).

Will it work in Downloads? I can't be arsed to remember that I have things in a location outside of My Documents when I'm backing up TS2 stuff, so I very much prefer not to PUT anything outside of My Documents. Almost everything works in Downloads, this included.

Don't know if you'd be interested in any of this Lord Darcy, but I just found some stuff that I did from April 2007. Finally reminded me to fix that missing reference in the normal afbodyrainslickers too haha. http://www.mediafire.com/?xpb0luu3ycc-Amelia (teen female vampire dress from MaxoidMonkey, under Nightlife, missing red dress added) -Bartholomew (teen male vampire outfit from MaxoidMonkey, under Nightlife) -Benny (Celebration Stuff preorder suit) -Bessie (Celebration Stuff preorder gown) -Billy (OFB chicken suit) -Elena (Seasons rainslicker preorder, reflection on boots replaced) -Fiona (valentines day underwear from MaxoidMonkey; has heels) -George (HHS preorder glasses, fixed for Pets ep?) -Shelby (FFS preorder; uses University mesh and fixed creepy flesh colored lace) -Sofia (Seasons preorder swim suit, fixed footstep sounds and there might have been something else) -Andy Sim's hair (complete family, toddler uses hidden curly texture, on my self sim, shows up under base game) -Lucas Sim's hair (complete family, shows up under base game) -Hilary Duff/Jenn Sim's hair (complete family, normal blond texture, shows up under Pets) -Argon_afbodyrainslicker_fixes (links the floating reflective material definition for the boots on those outfits)

Which version of the bed do you have? If it's mine then it's exactly the same chances as in Life Stories... damn near every time, if not all the time. Actually, I remember seeing the bhavs in Numenor's conversion for that too.
I think the only one that doesn't affect the twin odds is Bluesoup's but I've never played with it. It'd be really simple to change it so it doesn't though.
