226  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OT - You know you're an internet geek when.... on: 2005 December 12, 04:26:55
Wow.  This is just sad.  Cheesy

Although, I'm not sure if it's sad because y'all have done all these things online, or if it's sad because I have no husband and don't shop for groceries at all.

I'm gonna go with the latter.  Cheesy

Seriously, it's been pretty cool reading this topic.  I had no idea I was so primitive!  Wink

Well, I better get back to the TV.  You know, I don't have electricity, so I have to watch TV by candlelight.  Wink

Thanks witch!  Cheesy

That would have been a valid selection too! *kicks herself*
228  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What are your PC specs? on: 2005 December 03, 02:11:53
I don't know square one about what info you actually need, but my Sim game runs VERY smoothly, and this is what I can tell you about my computer:

HP Windows XP Media Center Edition OS
Intel Pentium 4 processor
2 CPU's with 2.4 gHz each
512 MB RAM

And I use Nvidia, but I don't even know what that means... Huh

Apparently, the HP Presario (I think) is even better for gaming than what I have.  I'm assuming mine runs smoothly because of having 2 CPU's, but like I said, I have no idea.  I just thank God for small miracles!  Cheesy

Hope that helped!
229  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: PLEASE take this survey. It's fun! on: 2005 December 03, 01:37:51
classical would have been good to include and i would also say i consider rock and pop to be different. i hate pop but listen to more mainstream rock as well as heavy metal, also indie.

Thank you all for your feedback on this.  I do appreciate it.  However, I feel the need to defend myself a little.  I can't say too much...I don't want to sway any remaining surveyors...

This is for a class called "Popular Music of the Americas Since 1840".  Classical is not popular music, so it does not apply, but I WILL be mentioning that the classical genre was not included on my ranking list.  Also, I know classical may be someone's all-time favorite music genre, and that's wonderful, but I chose these particular genres for a reason, which I'll get to in a sec.

Also, I agree that Pop and Rock are not the same genre.  Chicago and Britney Spears have nothing in common musically.  But I lumped them together for a reason as well...

This is a Social Science class...not a music class...it just happens to deal with how society shapes music, and how music shapes society.  I lumped Pop and Rock together because of the social following of both, not so much because they have a lot in common with each other, but because they have so little in common with the rest.

I hope that made some sense!  Cheesy

Thank you all for doing this...it's saving me a lot of paper, and I'm getting much more varied results than what I would have gotten asking my friends!

Please, continue... Smiley

3  Classical (YOU FORGOT IT!)

Shit.  Lips sealed Thank you, Ancient.  I will mention that in my paper.  Cheesy
231  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / SURVEY CLOSED! on: 2005 December 01, 21:54:00
Hey you guys,

Thank very very very much for doing my survey and giving feedback.

Results coming soon....

J.M., could you lock the thread?  I need to keep count while I'm tallying.  Thanks!
232  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How many Sims are you playing? on: 2005 October 09, 19:22:44
In Pleasantview, I play the Brokes the most.  I've never managed to get Brandi married...no one likes her!  But I wanted her to have kids, so she's been adopting.  She now has nine children (a few have grown up and moved out).  Here's the clinker:  they're ALL boys.  I have tried like hell for her to adopt/birth a girl, to no avail.  No one will sleep with her, and the damn adoption service just keeps sending boys...sigh.

In Strangetown, I play my CAS sim, Pete Syko.  He wears a kilt and makeup.  He recently became a vampire and moved in with Contessa "something" downtown.  He's constantly in aspiration failure!

I try to avoid Veronaville.  I hate Shakespeare and love Moliere.  I feel like I'm cheating Moliere to enter that neighborhood!

I, of course, play more than just these Sims occasionally, but these are my favorites.
233  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Ghosts on: 2005 October 02, 01:55:46
I got sick of my ghosts, so I threw their stones into my sim's inventory and placed them in the cemetery downtown. Cool

Shadenfreude.

Thank you!

Here it is, and it works perfect with NL...Smiley

I've never downloaded a .package file.  Do I need to do anything besides save it in my Downloads folder?  I mean, I don't have to unzip it or extract it or anything, right?
Sorry I'm so stupid!  Undecided
237  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What? No woohoo? But you said you WANTED to! on: 2005 September 30, 21:07:58
SJ, all e-mails to you returned. But you can download the hack from "thanks Dr Boris - Zeus arrived", the last reply - I uploaded it there. Sorry.

That's really strange...*scratches head*.  Huh

Thank you, gali!
238  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / What? No woohoo? But you said you WANTED to! on: 2005 September 30, 17:23:18
Hey guys,
Well, I did a search and didn't quite find the answer to my question, so here goes:

I have NL, and I had the Matchmaker get my guy a date.  It turned out to be a Dream Date.  During it, I proposed that she stay the night, and she nodded (but I said "Goodbye" to her later that evening....hmmm).

Anyway, after the date was over, I picked "What do you want to do?" from the pie menu.  She talked about a purple heart.  Oh, goodie!  She wants to woohoo!

I got her to relax in bed with my guy.  They could cuddle and kiss, but that was it.  So I took them out to the car.  Same deal.  No woohoo option.

His relationship with her is 100/40.  Am I missing something or is this a glitch?

Thanks.
239  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Thanks Dr Boris! - Zeus arrived! on: 2005 September 28, 21:12:13
Dr Boris - what about the "nohomework" hack - it's very important one, and it doesn't appear on your list.

I have to concur with gali here.  What about nohomework?  I don't presently have it...I have one called "homework-sometimes-faster-fun" from someone over at MTS2, but I would prefer the nohomework hack!
Thank you Dr. Boris! Smiley

Nice one, Judecat!  Cheesy
241  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hurricane Rita -- KEEP TABS! on: 2005 September 24, 20:56:07
I'm good too!  We lost power for about 16 hours, and one of our ugly trees in the yard keeled over, but that's all that happened to me.
My mom and I just started drinkin' beer when the power went out.  We got wasted and talked about dreams for a couple hours, then passed out.

I hope everyone in the Beaumont area is okay, though.
Love,
SJ Grin
242  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Hurricane Rita -- KEEP TABS! on: 2005 September 22, 03:17:31
Hey guys,
As requested, I have modified the title of this thread.  Please post here afterwards if you're from Houston/Galveston/Louisiana, so we know you're okay.
I have to go store my computer now.  Be safe!
Love,
Sara Jo
243  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It's an OT party!!!! on: 2005 September 19, 02:51:04
I have a gourami in my tank right now named Sunburst.  He's probably dead right now.  For the past few days, he's been on the bottom, sideways.  But he always gets upright when I feed him...rest in peace, little guy...well, I think so anyway.  I've had him a year or two.  I suppose that's a good lifespan.

I have a 99 cent algae eater that's been alive for 6 years.  His name is Pirsig.  He's great!
244  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It's an OT party!!!! on: 2005 September 19, 02:45:54
I don't mind you buyin' crickets, Fated.  And I don't even know you and I think you're strange.  Cheesy

But it must've sucked if one got out.  Remember that Fresh Prince episode?  Chirp-chirp, chirp-chirp, chirp-.....AUGH!
245  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It's an OT party!!!! on: 2005 September 19, 02:40:48
I had a white mouse named Elvis Presley Dunstan.  When I got him, I was 9 and thought he was a gerbil.  He bit me on the finger, and used to knock his wheel over, climb on it, and get out of his aquarium cage.  Then his cedar chips got infested with ants.  I gave him away and got a dog!

Edit:  for cabelle and your avatar:

"Pinky.  Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Well, yeah, Brain.  But how are we gonna get peanut butter in his ear?"

247  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Major Tech Issue: Comp reboots when I scroll in NH view on: 2005 September 18, 16:59:16
The problem is when I use the arrow keys to scroll around my neighborhood while in the neighborhood view, my graphics suddenly garble and then my computer reboots.

You should ask Maxis about this.  They'll probably tell you not to use the arrow keys, because it's probably a problem with your keyboard.  Those morons!  Hee hee hee.

Good luck, Braveheart!

Someone may have posted this already, but I thought it would cheer some people up.  Well, at least MOST of us!

Cheers,

As a non-American, these sites are very reassuring to me...

http://www.sorryeverybody.com/

http://www.apologiesaccepted.com/index.html

New Zealand is a small country and has little world power. It is very scarey to many of us here that someone like Bush is in charge of such a large world power, terrifying, the man cannot even speak logical grammatical sentences, he invades oil-rich countries for no other reason than he can and refuses to sign treaties that will help the world environmentally - given that America is responsible for so much pollution.

Yeah, he's that scary to the 49% of us who DIDN'T vote for him...and probably most of the morons--excuse me--PEOPLE who DID vote for him too.
250  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hurricane Katrina on: 2005 September 08, 03:58:40
Now I know why I'll never vote Democrat again.

Bitch.

Kidding! Cheesy
