Youth: It turns you into a *12*!

Do you have to go to college all over again to get your education, diploma, wants and locks?

I'm pretty sure it was diner, not dinner. And every time I have used it, it has deleted 4.
78  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2008 October 10, 18:20:26
Several times I have seen something like "nuke stuck diners".  Of course I always click it when I see it since no one is ever eating. What is this and why is it showing up? So far I have always seen it on a residential lot, but I don't often click the batbox when I'm on a comm lot unless I am experiencing problems.
79  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Phone Hack v8.3 on: 2008 October 07, 01:49:14
I'm playing a dorm and I don't have the 'call targets' option anymore. If I 'call Sim' I will find the Sim at home and available to talk. I know that the target must be known, not a friend, and available to talk and the menu is on the Sim. All of these are true yet 'call targets' isn't showing up.

The version in the first post will kill your sims. Be sure to get the one from here: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,8062.msg234447.html#msg234447

Can we get a moderator to either link the first post to post #63 which contains the corrected version of this mod or to put the correct file in the first post?
82  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Bathroom Controller: In Soviet Russia, Bathroom Uses You! on: 2008 September 15, 19:09:34
Using the latest update. Default configuration. Toilet and shower in same room.

To set this off, use a Sim with low hygeine and bladder. Macro>go to bed. When the Sim enters the bathroom, delete the BUY in the queue that runs when the Sim wakes up. The Sim will use the toilet then just stand there frozen.

Pause then delete the BUY that is currently being run and the Sim will go to bed, OR delete 'Go to Bed' and the Sim will finish by taking a shower.

ETA: I've also had a few queue drops after skillinator sends them to bathroom first, but haven't tracked it down to specifics yet.
83  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Bathroom Controller: In Soviet Russia, Bathroom Uses You! on: 2008 September 09, 13:35:57
I'm having difficulty with the BUY/sleepclock combo, starting sometime in the last couple of updates.

If a Sim is told macro/go to bed, or the sleep clock calls them AND it decides to send them to the bathroom before going to bed, the Sim will pee, then freeze up with the icons BUY/Macro bed/BUY in the queue. These cannot be cancelled in live mode. But if I pause the game and take off the Macro bed/BUY, leaving just the first BUY in the queue, the Sim will then finish by getting into the shower. Once the Sim is in the shower, it is again safe to issue macro-go to bed. OR I can cancel the first BUY in the queue and the Sim will go to bed without taking a shower. It's like the Sim gets stuck on deciding whether to take a shower or to go to bed after taking a pee.

No error is thrown.

ETA: After more testing, I realize that what is causing my problem is whenever I decided that a certain Sim does not need to run to the bathroom upon wakening, and so I cancel out the last BUY before the Sim finishes up the pre-sleep bathroom routine. So the above description is in error in the fact that the last BUY is no longer in the queue. So now I know how to avoid the problem. It's just that I never had difficulty in the past cancelling out the last BUY in the queue.
84  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: 3 Base Game Bars Fix - NL/OFB functions enabled on: 2008 September 08, 23:23:12
I was using the cheapest bar when I noticed something odd. A Sim decided to eat at the bar. He placed his plate on the Left side of the bar, then sat down in the chair on the Right. Every time he took a bite of his sandwich, it would disappear off of his plate and appear in his hand, then it would reappear again on the plate on the Left side. (normal eating behavior other than the plate is not in front of him). Before he finished eating, another Sim decided to eat at the bar. He places his plate on the Left side also, on top of the other Sim's plate. Both are able to eat although the first Sim is still eating out of the left side plate. When it came time to clean up, each plate was picked up individually from the Left side of the bar.

I play with testingcheats enabled and no errors are thrown and there appears to be no problems with them eating or cleaning up. It just looks really weird when they eat and I thought you should be aware of it.
85  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Phone Hack v8.3 on: 2008 September 03, 01:32:46
Targets are Sims that you have met but are not yet friends, so friends won't show up. They also must be at home, not at work or in school and during normal calling hours 7am to midnight, or 7pm to 7am for vampires IIRC. I don't think enemies show up either.
86  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Phone Hack v8.3 on: 2008 August 28, 19:45:36
Since yesterday's update, I get this error whenever a Sim clicks on a Phone.  If they click on themselves to use the phone, no error occurs.

Edit: Problem fixed in last update.
87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Fighting and Queue Stompage on: 2008 August 27, 05:46:34
I am using fight club and zombie apocalypse.

I love the fights, but I hate the way it stomps queues so badly.

Scenario: Sandra Goth gets eaten by cow plant. Mortimer wants her to be a zombie, so I allow it (first zombie in hood). Later Mortimer calls and asks to go downtown. I accept and Sandra shows up in the group. She attacks Don Lothario who is not in our group, and he becomes a zombie. When things settle down, I click 'be seated'. We order. As the waiter walks toward the kitchen, Don attacks a Sim and everyone jumps up from the table to watch the fight, including our waiter. After a very, very long fight. I try to get the dining thing done, but end up having to give up seat and start again from the beginning since no one sat back down and the waiter never brought dinner. I order again, another fight breaks out and I'm back to square one.

I have no force watch fight which allows me to cancel the watch interaction from the Sims I control, but does nothing for uncontrollables in the group. Is there any way to control the queue stompage, especially if Sims are in a group or on a date? I thought queue stompage = bad.
88  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Sleepclock problem with college students on: 2008 August 27, 01:40:59
I have bedsidefix.  Nothing unawesome related to beds, and I don't use Smartbeds.

I used Inge's ownbeds without problems up until BV. Then I changed to bedsidefix because Sims were still having difficulty. They still get into the wrong bed quite often whenever sleepclocks are not used.

This dorm problem just started recently. Since I don't always have Sims in college, it is difficult to pinpoint exactly when thing changed, but I played dorms about a month ago and they were fine then.
89  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Sleepclock problem with college students on: 2008 August 26, 10:54:34
My playables who live in a dorm are having a problem with the sleepclock.  They will run to the side of their bed, and then the clock and buy drops from their queue. If I macro>go to bed a 2nd or 3rd time, then they will be successful, but only if they are still standing near their bed.

The playables in the hood are not having problems. I moved my YA's from the dorm to a rental house and the problem stopped. This style dorm has been used for over a year without a problem until now. It's not a routing problem because they actually make it all the way to the side of the bed before it drops from queue.

I am using Maxis double beds.  One Sim per bed/room. No errors are being generated.
90  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Game crashing when trying to change appearance through mirror on: 2007 November 10, 17:06:07
I once had this problem. It would occasionally crash in CAS and crash with mirrors and the clothes change tool. Turned out to be a piece of clothing that someone didn't make correctly. It was easy for me to find and discard because I always put new items in a test folder until I know my game is still working correctly with the new item in place.

If you don't have a neat folder system, you can tell your computer to sort the stuff by date. Then you only have to look at items that were downloaded after the problem started.
91  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: They broke the bed! on: 2007 November 08, 18:30:10
I have not seen that exact problem, but during testing of some other stuff, I've seen the normal Maxis bed get pretty weird just from those other items being in Downloads.

Specifically, Toddler beds made by Rebecah at MTS2, and badly made recolors of bedding by some others have caused strange bed graphics. (I don't know how you can make a texture so bad that it causes these problems, but I have seen it).

This is NOT to say anything adverse about Rebecah. She corrects most problems that are pointed out to her. But I know for a fact that at least 2 of her toddler beds affect the graphics for ALL the Maxis beds. While her toddler beds work fine, I choose not to use them because of this. I would never be able to say in the future. "I'm using a Maxis bed." when trying to rule out problems.
92  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Buy jewelry/clothes wants not fulfilled by purchasing from OFB business on: 2007 November 04, 14:18:38
My Sims never get the 'Buy Jewelry' wants fulfilled no matter where they buy it. It has been this way since BV first came out.
93  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / BV Photo Album problems - Another EA glitch? on: 2007 October 18, 22:19:15
I had a family go on vacation, came home, and ordered a photo album. The album worked fine whenever they used it.

I then took them on a 2nd vacation. I could not find a way to add photos to the album that I already had. If I ordered photos, they would arrive being the same type of photos that you get from a photo booth. I could set them on a table or hang them on the wall, but I couldn't add them to the album.

So I went back and tried again, this time ordering an album after choosing the pics from vacation #2. The delivery Sim brought an album the same way he did the first time. So I thought to myself, this is stupid, having to buy a whole new album each vacation, but I set the album next to the other one on the coffee table anyway.

Only now, neither album would work. Whenever a Sim is directed to view the album, they pick it up, their fun goes to max instantly (even when I lowered it to red) and then they put the album back down.

Finally, I disposed of one of the albums. The remaining album again works as intended. I did several experiments after that, choosing different pics, different albums, etc. to make sure it wasn't just that one album that was broken.

It boils down to the album works correctly ONLY if it is the only one on the lot.

So is this an EA bug feature or does it just happen to me?

Is there a way to ADD photos to a pre-existing album? As it is, each time I come back from vacation, I have to sell the album I have, and reorder all the prints from previous vacations as well as any new shots that I got from the last vacation so that all the prints actually show up in the album.
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there still a portal bug? on: 2007 October 18, 21:43:51
Have you tried installing Crammyboy's Portal Monitor?

Although appropriate in this particular case, isn't it now obsolete? I still have it in Downloads, but I swear I read somewhere that it wasn't needed after NL. But then I couldn't find it again when I went looking for where I read that. I'm just wanting to know whether to retire it or not.

Back on topic, I believe that Dizzy made a mod to show all the portals on a lot. Perhaps that might help to diagnose the problem.

With the glowing toddler,  I had that happen once. I fixed it by enabling testing cheats, then shift>clicking on the toddler, and forcing an error. When the dialog came up, I chose reset. The kid was fine after that. Reset helps whenever an effect (such as smart milk glow, bubbles, etc.) get stuck on a Sim.

Problem #1, and possibly #2 sound like there is something in the street blocking the car. Have you tried putting a lot of burninators all over the street?  Be careful, I once deleted a portal doing this. If that happens, leave the lot without saving. The portal was still there when I went back into the lot, thankfully.

Problem #2 on your list was a constant problem for me in the past on one lot only, even though I had CB's fix in place. Moving them to another lot and bulldozing the affected one was the only thing that worked for me back then. This was a couple of EPs ago.

Do you have Zombie Apocalypse installed? It's the only thing I can think of that would cause a Sim to be a zombie without first dying. It happens when they lose a fight to an existing zombie, which could have happened on a comm lot while you were playing another family, or as a visitor to a lot where a zombie was present.
95  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: MissingChildAnim Fix (Drink Chocolate/Drink Juice) on: 2007 October 16, 03:00:06
I was still running Seasons P2 when this patch first came out. I tested my game without this mod, and the kids drank hot chocolate just fine.

I'm assuming BV broke it.
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Locked Wants Disappear on: 2007 October 16, 01:50:05
I'm having difficulty with the 'learn gesture type icons.' Even though a Sim learns a gesture and it appears in his memory, it doesn't always fulfill the matching vacation icon.

If I'm not very mistaken, the memento is triggered when you use the gestures towards someone after having learned it. I've seen this not only with gestures, but with the hula as well. Which makes even sense, because the corresponding want is "[Learning (whatever)]", whereas the memento says "[Doing (whatever)]".

Ok. I'll go back and make the Sims that have the unfulfilled momento do the gestures. I hope this works at home, as that is where they all are now.

Quote
As for the massages: Yes, there are only three, one per destination. Are you sure your sim doesn't just want to get a massage? Mine want that all the time.

I'm seeing the 'learn massage' want for sure. A knowledge Sim that has learned all 3 massages went on a fourth vacation to try to pick up the momentos that were missed the first time around.  All throughout this vacation she kept rolling up the 'learn massage' want. It usually showed up right next to the 'get massage' want.
97  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Locked Wants Disappear on: 2007 October 12, 19:18:04
So are you guys using 'Moar Fight' then? I still can't download it even though I don't have any problems downloading the other package files.

98  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Locked Wants Disappear on: 2007 October 12, 11:38:21
This has happened a couple of times since I started playing BV.

Sim comes home from vacation and is given an extra want slot. I choose 2 wants and lock them. But then later when the extra want slot disappears and the wants are rerolled, often one of the locked wants is the one that disappears.

The last time it happened, I noticed that the extra want slot was placed on the top row. I chose one want from the top row, and one from the bottom row to lock. But when the extra want slot disappeared, it was the locked want on the bottom row that I lost. Is there any way to stop this? You lock a want because you want to keep it there!

I'm also having some difficulty related to vacation icon fulfillment. After reading various posts, it MAY be related to not saving while on each vacation, although I'm not sure. I'm having difficulty with the 'learn gesture type icons.' Even though a Sim learns a gesture and it appears in his memory, it doesn't always fulfill the matching vacation icon.

And aren't there only 3 new massages that can be learned in the game? Then why do my Sims that have learned all 3 keep rolling up wants to learn them?
99  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Broken game wants. on: 2007 October 08, 22:00:49
I had those paintings once, but don't remember where I got them. I stopped using them when I started using TwoJeffs 'Object Min Cost Want Hack' which lowers the want cost to actually match stuff you have in your catalog.
100  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. [UPDATED] on: 2007 October 08, 21:57:53
Tried Argon's update.... everyone is ugly, no indication of my pretty face replacements at all. I must have done something wrong... will try again.

You have to have the face templates in Downloads BEFORE you create your hood or it will use the templates that came with the game to create your townies.
