51  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Platinum Urns Float on: 2008 November 18, 00:53:21
I normally use tombstones so I don't know if this is a longstanding problem or a new one. All of my platinum urns float above the tables. No matter which table height is used, the urn always floats. Regular urns are fine. Removing CC makes no difference. They are like this as soon as they are created. This isn't getting stuck when the ghost haunts it. It does move much higher than this when being haunted. They are at the correct height when they are tombstones. Only the urns are affected.

Taking out the trash won't solve your error problems, although you still need to do that. You probably have conflicting hacks in your game. You need to download the Hack Conflict finder and run it. You can find it here in the programs section:

http://www.simwardrobe.com/

When you find two hacks that conflict, you need to decide which one you want to keep and get rid of the other one.

If you have no idea what is in your Downloads folder, I suggest getting Clean Installer and deleting all the hacks that you find. Then start fresh using only Awesome mods. You can find additional info here in the Podium FAQ.

I got this error with the latest Macrotastics.

The ONLY thing I have concerning baby bottles is a white recolor replacement I have had since base game. Never had an error before, but I'll pull it anyway. This wouldn't be the first time a recolor has behaved oddly.

My Sims who miss college receive the 'Uneducated' memory, but they still roll up the fear of 'Being Uneducated", some of them every single day of their life.

Can this be stopped? You would think that having the memory would stop the fear from being rolled again.
58  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sim-Kid cash rewards...oh and random death. on: 2008 November 07, 13:45:58
I too am concerned that random death is back. I had a Sim come home from work and keel over dead. Confused as to why that would happen, I made him selectable and took a screen pic. He is dying from the choking death, which I believe is from illness. I have had no illnesses in this hood at all yet as it is a fairly new hood. Is this the mysterious choking death that pregnant Sims used to experience in the base game before the patch? It looks the same although the random deaths are not affecting the pregnant now.

Sorry for the darkness. After I took this picture, my daughter showed me that I could go into buy mode, turn it to daylight, then get a pic from there. But I didn't know this at the time.

ETA: I noticed both of our Sims died after coming home from work. Did yours go to work hungry? The reason I ask is because I am playing Apocolypse challenge and my Sim went to work very hungry. So hungry in fact that he really should have starved to death before lunch. I watched at lunchtime and his hunger bar filled all the way up, so I thought everything was fine. Besides, this isn't the correct animations for the hunger death.
59  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Macro Control: Macrotastics on: 2008 November 07, 13:16:38
My Sims that don't have exercise equipment run outside to the mailbox and do yoga in the winter until they turn blue. I stop them and send them inside at that point because I don't know if they will stop on their own before freezing solid.  Once inside I have to manually tell them to jump rope or work out to the stereo or they will just run back outside again.
60  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Phone Hack v8.3 on: 2008 November 04, 15:48:54
I know what you mean about your Sims suddenly looking stupid with Maxis hair Grin

Are you using the Maxis phone that came with the base game or are you using one of the ones that came with a later EP or SP? (I remember having a slight problem with one of the Maxis phones, but can't remember what it was or which phone other than it wasn't the base one).

One last thing to try. What happens if you don't have anything in downloads? Not even the phone hack. Does your phone start working properly then?

ETA: A new version of phonehack is up today.
61  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Jobs. Or rather, not. (Now with added non-puddles.) on: 2008 November 03, 20:39:04
If you just drop some of these updated files into their previous folders, you will retain some files that were combined with other files and are thus outdated. Lately he has been cleaning up mods by combining files that are dependent on each other.

Yellow pee used to contain yellowpee.package, yellowpeeobject.package, and noteleport puddle, I believe. But now the yellowpee files only have yellowpee.package. There are a few other mods that he has done this with lately. So make sure that you have only the files in your Downloads folder that match what he has in the current download.

Instead of just looking at the director's cut, you can download the individual mods. This has 2 advantages. One is that the individual downloads actually come with a RTFM, and the other is that you can quickly see what files he is using for each mod. You can then pull any extra files that he has already combined within another file.

Have you run HCDU to check for conflicts? If any Awesome-ware conflicts with anything else that is awesome, then it is because he combined files. Find out which ones are the updated/combined ones and get rid of the others.

ETA: You said that you got a puddle when a toddler played in a toilet, but not from a broken sink. I don't think sinks make very good puddles. I have a sink that breaks quite often in one house and yet I have only seen a puddle near it once. I'm not even sure that the puddle came from the sink. For all I know it could have come from a thrown water balloon since I never saw how the puddle actually ended up on the floor.

What happens if you have ONLY the latest phone hack and no other Custom Content in your Downloads folder?

Are you using Maxis phones or custom ones? Do you have a cell phone replacement? I remember a problem with the Razor or some similar cell phone download.
63  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: The One Shiny: Autonomy Control on: 2008 October 31, 17:20:16
What am I doing wrong?

Sim goes to fridge and pulls out a turkey. Clicking at this point only proscribes the fridge so I let him put it on the counter and continue to prepare it. Now I have the option to proscribe the Turkey, which I do by GUID.

Next day he pulls out a turkey again. So I try proscribing by category (blocks 36 items so I guess this is all food types) so I changed it back. Tried proscribing the whole lot instead of just that one Sim, which I should have done in the first place.

Next day he pulls out a turkey again.

I do not have custom foods, nor custom fridges on the lot.

ETA: Proscription doesn't appear to work on any of the foods that I have tried proscribing, whether by Sim or by lot.
64  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Macro Control: Macrotastics on: 2008 October 31, 14:51:03
I agree. When the cleaning routine runs, it's not getting the job done. When Sims finish their cleaning routine, the clean command still remains available, but drops out of queue if chosen again. I think they are missing newspaper cleanup as well as plumbing items. I'm not sure about plates as the family I'm currently playing tends to wash them when they finish eating.

With the latest Macrotastics, most commands don't want to work unless their stats are much higher than I have them.

I'm playing the Apocalypse Challenge so Sims will often have needs lower than the new threshold allows. For example, the family was very hungry and had a hygiene problem due to challenge limitations . Because of this, I couldn't even get Sims to macro>kick while waiting on another Sim to cook dinner. They had to eat and sponge bathe before it would work. I knew that skillinate or hobbinate wouldn't work in my current scenario (failing hunger and hygiene)  but I have always been able to get them to do kicking or a quick cleaning without a problem before.
65  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Macro Control: Macrotastics on: 2008 October 30, 20:05:41
Why do Sims 'Call Targets' when told to hobbinate? What does making new friends have to do with it? I notice they do this even when their social bar is full.

My toddler just turned child and I told him to hobbinate. He sat on the sofa doing nothing. When I checked his queue it said 'call targets' but since he hadn't met anyone outside of his family yet, he just sat there doing nothing.
66  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Witches lost hats, changed hair colour on: 2008 October 30, 16:14:49
But I'm affected and I don't have any such mods. Just creaturefixes.
67  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Phone Hack v8.3 on: 2008 October 29, 14:30:23
I had that symptom (Sims hang up the first time you tell them to use the phone, but it works the 2nd time you tell them) with an old version of this mod which was only up for a few hours before it was updated again, which made the problem stop. Make sure that you have the latest version for your EP and that you don't have a 2nd version hiding in your downloads somewhere.

As for those complaining about not being able to call NPCs that they have met socially, they have been missing from the call list since FT. Giving these Sims a cell phone as a gift doesn't help either. They just won't appear on the call list. Even the college directory which usually contains all the Sims currently in college plus the professors, was empty for me except for Sims that I had actually met.

Paladin has a fix for this under Fixes/Free Time at:
http://www.simwardrobe.com/

I am just now trying this out to see if it works well with my other mods and so far it appears to be OK. However it is non-awesome and won't be supported here.
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Witches lost hats, changed hair colour on: 2008 October 26, 09:23:22
I have created several more hoods and have not had a repeat of the Hat weirdness. I am wondering if applying patch #1 caused witches to switch the hats that they were wearing at the time of applying the patch, thus affecting only current witches.

Has anyone created any new hoods post patch and seen the hat problem in the new hood?
69  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Unofficial OFB Patch - Merge Of Several Older Fixes + New Stuff on: 2008 October 25, 08:57:35
IAmTheRad

Pick up noplayableshoppers from here and use that instead of the SW one. Customer Selector also has an option on it (set to default, I believe) that stops playables from shopping.

I know that it is a little different than what you have been using as SW allows playables to shop but not spend money. But at least doing it this way will stop the conflicts and still keep your playables' money intact.

ETA: It just occured to me, why do we still need noautopetbuy since we have noplayableshoppers?
70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Second AL patch is out. on: 2008 October 25, 08:14:59
I knew the patch change for Apartment Sims to retrieve their bills was going to be a problem. Now I am having half-dead Sims get up out of bed to get the bills when they live in a residence! It seems to pick whichever Sims has the worst motives, like it does when it chooses a Sim to age up infants.

My seriously ill, pregnant mom was made to repeatedly get out of bed while the father played near the mailbox. I say repeatedly because I kept canceling it from the queue. So if you cancel it, you need to get another Sim to get the bills or it will just keep calling that same Sim over and over. The only good news is that the modded mailbox cover is still working for the residential Sims. They place it there rather than inside, although once when I told them to pay the bills they ran to the edge of the lot to retrieve bills on the sidewalk. I didn't see them place them there, so I'm not sure what happened with that.
71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Whats in your UserStartup.cheat File? on: 2008 October 24, 08:35:16
And make sure your file is named userstartup.cheat

Make sure there is no .txt on the end. You have to unhide extensions in Windows to be able to see if .txt is appended to the end of the file. Extensions are hidden by default.
72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Second AL patch is out. on: 2008 October 24, 08:09:33
Bills will now autonomously be brought into Sim's apartments

Do we have a solution for apartment dwellers like we do with the hacked Mailbox cover for residential residents?

I've got demoted by townies before. But one day a Sim that my Sim had just met decided to ding him for already having a bad rep. All they had done is greet each other. He said his relative owned the catalog or something like that and I would have to pay top dollar from now on. Everything in the catalog went up in price! If I bought an item then changed my mind and sold it back right then, I would pay the high price but only be refunded the normal price. Several days later I was notified that my Sim was forgiven and the prices went back to normal. I thought it was kinda funny.
73  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2008 October 24, 07:26:35
I only have one Sim on the lot. This error occurred shortly after move-in. He was just standing there, not doing anything when this error popped up. Even though it says "Hit Break Point Primitive", I did not force an error.
74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Witches lost hats, changed hair colour on: 2008 October 22, 11:15:20
I needed to change a Sim's name. When I did, I got a pop-up of all the Sims in the hood. I saw 3 evil witches and 3 ninjas on the list. I'm not sure about duplicates of the other witch types, but anti-redundancy was in the game before the hood was even started. Two of the evil witches in the portraits have regular hair instead of the witch's hats.

I haven't seen these two witches in person yet, but was surprised that they weren't wearing their normal hats. I don't have anything in the game that changes what NPCs wear, nothing witch related, no downloaded skins, or anything that I can think of that would have caused this either. Like the OP, I'm stumped. I don't remember if this occurred before or after installing the AL patch, but all other patches were already in place.

Creaturefixes takes care of the scalp problem.
75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Aging Ghosts? on: 2008 October 19, 02:23:29
I see dead Sims on the 'age up' dialog.

Today I had a Sim turn elder. It is the first time I have seen the 'age up dialog'.  (I was disappointed that the dialog didn't appear for YA's aging to adult.) This Sim had a very long list of townies to choose from and several of them were dead dormies. The dorm that the ghosts occupy is currently empty of playables, but is still in place. 'Bring out your dead' was used while the playables still occupied the dorm. One was eaten by the cow plant on the SS lot and his grave is there.

What would happen if I accidentally age up one of these ghosts? I wasn't planning on aging up a Sim's best friends necessarily, but rather townies that more than one generation of my Sims know . I'm afraid that eventually I'll see a name on the list that has been there a long time and age him when he is already among the dead.

Is there any danger in this? If so, can the dead be removed from the list?
