Posts 60-62 of this thread explains a problem with this mod that was never addressed. I have to pull the mod to get the family back home whenever it occurs. Unfortunately, the error log has been deleted and I no longer have a copy. After the second time a family got stuck, I didn't put the mod back in, but I have missed it very much.
Since you report that it is working nicely for you, I'd like to give it another go. Would you be willing to look at the problem if it occurs again? Otherwise, I won't post error logs for an unsupported mod.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Anti-vacation Actions Error
|
on: 2009 March 01, 18:45:50

I get this error every few seconds since I updated to the latest version.
Also, is there a way to stop Sims from doing vacation gestures to their enemies, or at least not have them get a relationship boost from it? The ultra nice Sims keep thinking that my Sim is "making nice" toward them and lose their furiousness.

It seems that there is no animation for the coconut tree when it catches fire, so I keep getting errors during lightning storms.
I assume the same is true of the other two trees, but since Sims will starve to death instead of eating from those, I don't use them and don't know for sure.

Toggle LTW satisfaction (not sure of the exact wording) doesn't seem to stick for me. The option will toggle and the word will gray out, but then their aspiration doesn't drop when a fear is satisfied. So I'll check the box again and find the default setting is back in place.
Is it because my current Sims went platinum via aspiration fulfillment instead of LTW fulfillment? If so, can the option on the batbox be applied to both types of platinum states?
I like the idea of being able to revoke perma-plat status on an individual basis, but just can't get it to work.

Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Macro Control: Macrotastics

I thought that adult Sims weren't supposed to spray plants under macro control due to the possible side effect of turning into a plant Sim.
I have a single fruit tree on the property. Since I never know the right time to harvest, I use business> be farmer. If the tree can't be harvested, they just trim the bushes. But I've noticed that my adults are spraying the tree when it is infested.
Did something change or does Macrotastics figure that they aren't in danger because a single tree won't need sprayed often enough to cause a problem? Should I be using macro> garden instead of be farmer?

This is the working magazine rack by Numenor. I believe he used Boblishman's mesh for the object. I have worked hard to make the rack autonomous, running into Maxis bugs just to make the process more difficult. I entered the thread discussion in post 156 and then blabbed on for several pages about errors while working on the project. http://www.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=290523Pes even wandered into the thread to provide a fix to the Maxis bug. I really don't want to lose this object as I have it working the way I want. On the other hand, I certainly wouldn't want to give up Macrotastics. So I wanted to know what the problem was so that I could address it if possible. If the answer is "You can't use both.", then so be it. I just want to know.

My Sim was sitting on a sofa studying Lifelong Happiness when this error occurred. There seems to be some kind of problem with the BUY controller and my CC bookcase, but I can't figure out what. Could you tell me what the problem is?
BUY is on default settings. The lot is a residential house on campus.

I've actually discovered a way that seems to kill these effects. Perhaps I should put it on the Batbox.
Stuck effects are common enough to warrant it. This poor Sim turned blue while jumping through the water wiggler in the winter. She went around for the longest time with water spraying from her butt.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Homework, The One Desk, and kids of all ages

If the child's queue gets interrupted, they will place the homework on the ground instead of the desk. The most common occurrence of this is due to routing issues, although it can also happen as you described. For example, say you are still using those one-piece staircases where only one Sim can walk on them at a time. The first kid starts walking up the stairs to place their homework on their desk. The second child realizes that the staircase is in use and will drop their homework on the ground since their "route is blocked".
I use Squinge's No Singing after Work, and the Hugging Hack from here which puts the "Hug" interaction at the end of their queue instead of wiping it out. Then as long as their route isn't blocked, they will always place their homework on their reserved desk. It works for me in apartments as well as on residential lots.

Thank you. It's working now.
Can you tell me how to do an all clear after doing a lock-down? I can't find it in the menu.
ETA: Is there a way to stop them from coveting what is behind the door?
I finally divided the secret room into 2 rooms. The first room has APO which stops them from coming through the bookcase. The second room behind the secret door has a regular locked door with all items I don't want them to think about behind it. It was the only way to stop them from standing around the bookcase complaining that they want what is behind it.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / AutoSecretDoor and APO not working together?
|
on: 2008 November 21, 09:47:04

I set up a room where the only entrance was the secret door bookcase. I placed APO inside the room and set it up. Everyone just walked right on in. I fiddled for awhile with the APO settings, but nothing worked, and yes, it was set to 'lock this room'. Finally I deleted the bookcase door and placed a regular door there instead. APO started working immediately.
Did I misunderstand the RTFM? I thought the bookcase was lockable by using APO in the secret room. The Sims can now use it autonomously like a regular door, but I can't get the APO lock to work with it.
"Secret Door bookcase now auto-usable without clicking as a normal door by Selectable Sims permitted by Authorized Personnel Only."
Also, while messing with the APO settings, I tried Lockdown. Very cool. But I couldn't find the "all clear" setting so I ended up deleting APO and buying another one. What option am I looking for, and which menu is it on?

I stopped before I changed his wardrobe since I worried about screwing the whole neighborhood and quit without saving.
I've found Christianlov's clothing rack at MTS2 to be the most reliable way to change an NPCs clothing. The NPC will come onto the lot, change into the outfit you select and then leave. Other methods often leave the NPC behaving strangely or not keep the newly assigned outfit. I think it also allows for plastic surgery and hair change, but it's possible I'm thinking of one of his other tools. Although I haven't specifically tried these on the butler yet, it has worked for other NPCs I've altered.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: you should meet my therapist

I figured that it was poor wording and hit "no." The Therapist didn't show so I hope that was the right way to go. Is someone supposed to show up with this dialog? I've had the other dialog where a date drops out of the sky if you say yes, but I thought this dialog was to put your number into the hands of a Sim who will start bugging calling you. I said yes to the question (a normal Sim was offered at the time). No one showed up and no one called either. So I'm not sure which way to answer this question either. My thinking at the time was that Maxis would make the "yes" answer complete the transaction while a "no" answer would do nothing.
