So, I decided to go check out Renegade Sims, because the link was listed here. I found more Peggy stuff that looks great when advertised... and sucks when in the game. Credits for the pics from Renegade Sims. XD
*snip* <---From the front *snip* <---- What Peggy seriously did not mention about this hair...
Looks like she's having her scalp surgically removed... edited to fix stupidity (my own). 10 points to whoever finds it.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Has the clothing tool changed, or is it AL??
|
on: 2008 September 08, 02:30:54

I had my first uni graduate post AL last night. Usually the clothing tool lets me buy new clothes for graduates at a premium to get them out of the fugly aging outfits the game usually foists upon my sims, however this time I got a new dialog box which simply said 'Suggest Outfit' and gave me all the clothes as an option to change to. I don't think it cost her any money, either.
Has the clothing tool had it's functions changed, or is this an AL feature?

I could understand it if, at conception, she was having twins, because that's how it's meant to go. Number of babies decided at conception. I'd just shrug and go with it. But the fact that it's changing at some point after conception, and overriding the limit on the number of sims on the lot is driving me nuts!
I admit, I didn't know WTF I was doing when I happily clicked on the level 4 'perk'. It's not happened to anyone else (then again, there haven't been any other pregnant female fambly sims lately; John Burb though has superpowered sperm and has had Jennifer give birth to 2 sets of twins in quick succession).

This Free Time "perk" of increased chances of twins is driving me insane!
I restarted Pleasantview with the new computer (read: couldn't be bothered pulling ALL my files across from the old one) and when I went into the Broke house, set up the sims various perks. Brandi, of course, is already pregnant (with ONE baby) at the start of things. The next time I go into the house, Brandi has suddenly decided that in fact, she is having twins. Twins Brady and Bobby were duly born. Because they're both Brandi clones, they're the closest thing we can get to identical twins.
Anyway, days go by, she finally meets a nice single father by the name of Matt Riffraff, and his two daughters, Kayla and Layla. After some effort Brandi and Matt tie the knot, and wouldn't you know it are off to the bedroom to conceive the next little Riffraff.
I checked the number of babies after hearing the lullabye. One baby.
This made sense, because there's Brandi, Matt, teens Beau, Bobby, and Brady Broke, and Kayla and Layla Riffraff. According to the world of the sims, there's only room for one more sim (and I don't have any hacks to change this).
Oh, no. I went into the Broke-Riffraff house today and found that Brandi is once again expecting twins.
I SWEAR, on Brandi's grandmother's grave, there has been no cheesecake consumed or use of forcetwins. I've never ever seen the number of babies change from one playsession to the next.
It's chaotic enough with 5 teens in the house who are nowhere near ready to go to college yet, this is just going to send my blood pressure through the roof!
Ugh. I can't wait till that woman hits menopause.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Updating custom fridges to Seasons options
|
on: 2008 July 21, 03:18:45

Because I phail at searching.
I have a few custom fridges that were made pre-Seasons. Now, post Seasons, BV and FT, they do not have the nice shiny Seasons options included (you know, to do with leftovers and stocking food).
How does one attach these options to these fridges? I am pretty useless at SimPE so probably need some serious handholding. (I have gloves and anti-bacterial handwash if you are worried about contracting vecki-germs)

This gives me an idea to do a Song of Ice and Fire themed hood, lots of arranged marriages, although...
The Targaryens in that series wed brother to sister (hence the insanity at the end of the Targ line), and I kinda go 'ick' at that idea. Although that may not be a big problem depending on where I start the family (possibly at the second to last generation)

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Vista Service Pack 1 + FreeTime = Crash
|

One person over at MTS2 had the same problem, but a ton of other people seem to have no problems running the game with SP1. So does anyone have any idea why this is causing my game to crash? Ideally I'd like to keep Service Pack 1, as it's supposed to actually make Vista somewhat more operational. I'm running FreeTime (no patches) + a NOCD crack. All Eps and Sps (except Ikea) installed.
I'm a lucky duck who hasn't had this problem. I believe the computer came with Vista + SP1, I wonder if this makes a difference? *scratches head* What I mean by that is I installed the game after SP1 was installed. I have no idea if this would affect it but perhaps a good old fashioned uninstall/reinstall is called for?

Yeah...didn't quite get what you were saying. Something about reformatting, getting XP with SP 2, upgrading my graphics card and mentioning my "rig" has a lot of potential.
The other recommendation I would make is to got to an ATI Radeon card, rather than an NVidia one if you ever get the chance to upgrade. I swapped about 2 years ago when I built my current machine and although I have the odd graphics glitch, it's nothing like the problems I experienced prior to that with NVidia. Nice work Jess. Vecki can haz new puter too so has been celebrating by... playing Sims endlessly
(yes, I stopped long enough to put my hacks back in again)
(yes, I spent some time getting rid of the promotional garbage that came with the computer)
(yes, it was out of the box, that's why it had loads of promotional garbage on it. I couldn't be arsed building from scratch. At least I got a free printer out of it)
(yes, it has EVILL VISTA(tm))
(yes, it asks me no less than 4 times if I really, really REALLY meant to double click on that file I just downloaded from a reputable website)
(yes, when presented with a compatibility issue, it links to a Japanese website which I suppose is meant to have a solution but I can't frickin' read Japanese - That's right Trend Micro 2008, I'm looking at YOU!)

Heh. Suddenly it all comes together for me. Pescado is Hordak.
We're gonna try plugging in the boyfriend's power supply this weekend, but I'm not sure its gonna be enough (I think it's a 300W supply). Maybe I'll at least see if the game lasts a little longer, which might give me an idea of if the power supply really is to blame.

* vecki takes deep breath, this could take a while to explain. Consider yourselves warned For what seems like forever my game has suffered from the NVIDIA blue screen then crash (well I assume it crashes, the screen goes blank, the monitor's power light blinks on and off, and nothing can be done except to use the magic button to turn the computer off then on). I updated my video card from the FX5200 128MB to the 7300GT 512MB (heh, thinking back, shoulda gone for ATI instead of another NVIDIA). Still suffered from blue screen then crash (to add insult to injury, for the 45 seconds I was able to look into a lot, bits were missing from sims). The animation was much smoother though, I noticed. I finally found what Assoid Sam had referred to as the 'last known good NVIDIA driver' (he'd made it tough by making a typo. Grr). So loaded up the game again and visited the Brokes in my vanilla account. The missing bits of the sims were now filled in... hurrah! And there was no blue screen.... No siree. My computer decided to skip that little inconvenience after the usual 45 seconds and go straight to the crashing. When I start up the computer NVIDIA does warn me that the card is not getting enough power and will reduce performance to prevent damaging the computer (from what I recall it needs about a 350W PSU and my measly Acer T300 only came with a 200W PSU), but I don't know whether to point at that as being the cause of the crash at this stage. Thoughts? I'm all out, thought I'd borrow some of yours.
