76  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 90% of Sunset Valley lots gone after returning from vacation. on: 2009 November 29, 06:22:14
Well Inge and the rest at Custom Sims are doing better than the programmers at EA. The reply from EA's Support Forum has me thinking that our only hope are the modders in the community.
The reply from the EA support forum appears to be to endlessly redirect in circles without ever actually displaying a reply. Which, I guess, makes a lot of sense. I approve of this new efficiency upgrade. Why bother having a PERSON redirect you in circles when the computer can do the same thing?

Out of curiosity, were you one of the 4 out of 23 people who found that answer to be helpful?

If I recall correctly, death by hail creates a fuchsia-colored ghost—which, incidentally, is repeatedly walloped by hail every time they come to haunt.
78  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apocalypse! How many are left? on: 2009 July 08, 22:37:24
TS2 just never really entranced me. Sure, I bought all of the EPs and SPs, but where are they now? They lounge upon a shelf, their brightly colored boxes and obnoxious faces grinning down at me—waiting for me to go mad.
(Maybe I'll reinstall and snatch some more music files.)
I just can't take the loading screens! If TS2 was seamless, and if it worked like Supreme Commander, I'd reinstall it in a heartbeat.

Currently, I'm just messing around with TS1 (All EPs) and experimenting with TS3.
Problem is, if I screw up with TS3, just the tiniest little something that doesn't feel right to me, my OCD kicks in. As a result, I have to create yet another Sunset Valley. I must have ten of them by now.
The downfall—I knew it would come.
79  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Who is this Fugly Pudding, and why is he in my portrait? on: 2009 June 20, 22:26:15
I've had this problem also. A placeholder image is all well and good, it's not the first game I've played where that happened, but it really bugs me when this guy shows up for my FEMALE sims. Holding an autograph session with my sexy (a.k.a. slutty and wearing skimpy outfits) female sim and having everyone think of her as Mr Pasty Moustache Guy is... wrong. -_-

Regenerating the thumbnail does seem to work, though, so... *shrug*

That's the same dude who replaces my female sim's portrait, too. He happens to be my sim's new boss in the medical career in Riverview. The old boss died, my sim received a promotion, and presto—one fugly-looking new thumbnail… After a few more promotions, though, my game corrected it. Very funky.
Of course, he's still her boss, which is saddening.
80  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Music files? on: 2009 June 19, 05:44:06
I've been looking for the music from The Sims 2.  I want some of those pop songs that came with OfB and AL for the custom music station.  I'm a purist with my Simlish, and won't allow any English in my game.  Any tips as to where to look (without buying, I already bought the game, so I sure as hell don't want to pay separately for the music)?

Do you happen to have SimPE installed?

http://sims.ambertation.de/en/about-simpe/

If so, I can lead you to a pretty painless tutorial:

http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,14181.0.html

This tutorial is exactly how I learned. Just back up your game files and go for it!

81  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Music files? on: 2009 June 19, 01:09:28
Apparently, someone called yotsubakowai at YouTube knows. They claim to have extracted some of the soundtracks. I have not followed their links yet, so I cannot confirm.
Here's a link to one of the YouTube pages:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ln8b13faHU

Edit!

I can now confirm.
Though there are currently only three soundtracks of the Electronica section uploaded, they all appear to be of good quality. (I am not too sure about Gluten King by Junkie XL, though. It appears to skimp a few notes near the end, but I believe that more in-game listening sessions are required for me to make the proper diagnosis on that front.)
On a brighter note, Mikeweed and Born Again (both by Sasha) appear to be in good health.

One day we shall know exactly where those files are. Nonetheless, Rome was not built in a day, and yotsubakowai, as far as I can see, is not talking.

Edit! (Again!)

I was not hallucinating about the flaw in the Gluten King soundtrack by Junkie XL (or, at least, yotsubakowai's uploaded version). It does cut off by one second.

(I hope that this is helpful to someone. I just love this kind of stuff.)  Grin

82  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Cleaning Sunset Valley of Inhabitants ??? on: 2009 May 30, 18:13:57
Well, Buttolino wanted to nominate you for the new Gwill, but you never appear in grah, because you suck. In any case, it is going out to testers now.

And just what is wrong with not appearing in Grah?
83  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 L&P on: 2009 February 09, 22:24:03
Okay, so I guess I'm getting into this L&P now.  Just wanted to go through some of this Alala Sims stuff.

Don't feel so "unawesome". This is by far the best tutorial that I have ever read! I ignored SimPE's warning about updating, and prevailed upon my third attempt. (Without blowing up my game.Tongue)
There is hope for me yet.
85  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: I broke my pets' careers! SOLVED on: 2008 November 17, 02:06:12
Odd. I've had this problem since I installed AL, and I haven't used an EA patch since Seasons. Oh, well.

You are lucky in this respect. The Grim Reaper has never done anything interesting in my game.

87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I can haz 2 problemz?!? Awesome people, please help me! on: 2008 October 04, 21:12:30
Bah, it adds flavor. You must marry the streaker.

There is just something about streaking that hits me as being undignified, so I do not think that the marriage would last. However, it would save money on a clothing budget…
88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I can haz 2 problemz?!? Awesome people, please help me! on: 2008 October 04, 15:54:47
The NL Diva/Slobs are basically designed to be marriage material, but be warned that they will not abandon their signature antics even after marriage!

And that's exactly why I always end up killing them off. It's the same thing with the Grand Vampires-- they attempt to bite people even after they are cured...still, I prefer snapping vampires to primping and bragging rich folk.
89  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: VOTE! The MATY and PMBD design contest runs until Sept 16, 5pm Malaysian on: 2008 September 17, 05:58:01
Congratulations to our winners!  Names will be announced soon; one artist has already opted to remain anonymous, and I have to check with the rest.

I've been sent an updated version of the broken plumbob design.  Unless there are serious objections, it will be the one sent to print.  Opinions?

I like this version much better. It looks...distressed, which I think is a good thing.
90  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: school grr, piano pain and spiral stairs. on: 2008 September 08, 02:28:09
My Prima Game Guide reports that students will no longer place their homework on the "common area" ground on Apartment Lots... However, my Sims still place it on the ground (after I cancel the At School action), which is annoying, because I am not allowed to pick it up in Buy/Build Mode.

91  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Oh My! I think EA might have done something smart for a change! on: 2008 September 01, 01:49:54
My game's loading session has sped up too. It used to take about seven minutes. Now it takes three.

Just for the heck of it, I will add that I have all EPs and SPs.
92  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 August 28, 06:23:33
Here are my two problems with AL:
My Sims cannot turn into witches. All of my custom content has been disabled, in both cases. Here is the error log for the witches...

My second problem has been happening since Free Time, but I thought that I'd mention it. Every time a Sim who has Cuisine enthusiasm attempts to rub their tummy, an error log pops up to tell me that the animation is an empty string.

Any ideas?

UPDATE: I am removing my error log because I have fixed both problems by reinstalling.
I am one content chick- that is, until the next glitch comes to my attention... Grin
93  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Ramen Fix? on: 2008 August 24, 21:18:00
I have no idea how one produces a cornbread muffin. It is not something one typically encounters in the wild.

Well, nor do I.
My cooking experience is limited, and that's mostly because I'd probably set the house on fire if I even touched the stove.
It was by pure coincidence that I even tried a cornbread muffin. As for my using chopsticks with the muffin, the place had run out of forks…
Still, it was fun...just a bit messy. Cornbread muffins tend to fall apart when punctured by chopsticks.
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Ramen Fix? on: 2008 August 24, 08:15:00
Yes, but you're a Korean. I don't know how to eat ANYTHING with a chopstick, unless you count impaling things with it like you would any other pointy stick.

Cornbread muffins are very good when eaten with chopsticks; you may want to try it sometime.
95  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Ramen Fix? on: 2008 August 23, 21:39:37
Here's my experimental ramen fix. I did not test it thoroughly, but so far it seems to work fine. Only works for newly cooked bowls of ramen. Sims will use chopsticks. I can't remember whether Sims used a fork or chopsticks to eat ramen before BV came out.

Don't use it if you don't have BV.

 Cheesy
Thanks Lord Darcy! I'll test it...

*Update...*

Okay, I have all EPs and SPs, and I have just tested it: No problems at all. I also tested with boolprop testingcheatsenabled true on, and again, no problems.
It is true that originally Sims would eat the plain ramen with a fork, but I am perfectly happy with the chopsticks.

Thanks for the groovy fix!
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I eat paste. on: 2008 August 21, 17:01:01

Give it here or I'll throw you in a vat of boiling sharks.

What kind of sharks are we talking about? *Brightens hopefully,* Great Whites?

Undecided*Reconsiders: Wait a minute; I don't want Great White sharks to boil to death. Great Whites are too beautiful and innocent in the vile ways of humans to merit death by boiling.*
97  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Ramen Fix? on: 2008 August 19, 21:40:55
The Cup O' Ramen from University has been taken over by the Ramen from the Far East food stand.
Whenever any of my Sims attempt to warm a Cup O' Ramen in the microwave, they receive the Far East Ramen. Unfortunately, they don't even get to eat the Far East Ramen with chopsticks… (If you have never consumed a cornbread muffin with the use of chopsticks, you cannot possibly understand the sorrow that this causes me.)

Ever since Bon Voyage came out, I have waited patiently for this problem to be fixed. I reported it to the EA Support Team, (why did I even bother?) and still, it has not been fixed. (Big surprise.)  Roll Eyes

Can someone please make a fix for this? Please?
This is going to sound wacky, but I want my Cup O' Ramen back!
98  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What does the Star carrer reward actually do? on: 2008 August 18, 01:35:10
*Flips open Prima Game Guide.*

"Sims standing near this luminous rug receive gradual satisfaction of their Social need, just by being in its presence."  Tongue

Personally, I'll take a good book to a glowing star anytime I need "social". Heck, I doubt I even have a Social need…

Hope this shines some light on the subject…no pun intended.

99  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Originally a "Power Outage" in the game? Could modders plz help get it back? on: 2008 July 29, 21:47:47
Bit of a lame mini game.
Yeah, it doesn't exactly sound difficult...at all. And what the hell does a wind generator do anyway? Make it so that future power outages don't matter? That's no fun.

I still have the wind generator in my game, (from MTS2). Basically, it moves...and it lowers the household bills by a certain amount.

* Has an afterthought. *

Originally, there was supposed to be a Power Outage scenario, a Meet Your Future-In-Laws scenario, and an Entertain-Your-Employer scenario. I think that the Headmaster scenario is the only mini game that EAxis kept in TS2.

Oh, no… That's really terrible! Even by EA's low standards…

Don't they check this stuff? Ha.
