You need one of Capitaine Marie's fixes on reply #1282: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?PHPSESSID=87da3ebf4e5789dbd564d9503daaa498&topic=21330.1275
2  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: L&P: TS4 CAS Demo | Full TS4 Game Leaked on: 2014 September 07, 03:01:15
I avoided installing Origin FOREVER, and finally relented to install this game.  Origin's first action?  Completely gutting my TS3 installation.

I've seen this reported elsewhere, too. I have a theory. I think Origin only senses TS3/TSM installations if you try to launch the games. I am basing this on my brief stint (hour and a half) with the CAS Demo--during which I didn't launch TS3 or TSM. After I uninstalled Origin and the Demo, I launched TS3 and TSM with no problems.

Jezzer: I stated very clearly in my initial post that I was building a home-world compatible university world in CAW on patch level 1.63. JMP still expressed an interest in knowing what exactly the issue was despite my unsupported patch level.
Searching about other forums, I gather that not too many people actually utilize the home-world university system--and finding a fellow AM user with that combination is proving difficult. All I can do at this point is ask the source. If the source doesn't know, then I am perfectly happy to become a test subject for the issue when I update to the latest patch.
4  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2014 August 22, 02:16:21
JMP: I don't expect you to whip up a fix for 1.63, I know very well that it's unsupported. What I am asking is if the issue persists in the lastest build. If fixall works fine with such universities in the latest build, then great. If it doesn't, or you are uncertain, then say so--I will test for it when I actually do update.
5  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2014 August 20, 01:58:56
I can use Fraps to take a screenshot of the error if it is wanted. If so, would I be allowed to attach the image to a post? I don't have a photo account anywhere.

Edit: As to the sacred trait showing up where it's not wanted, I can vouch for it still happening on 1.63, but I don't know about the upper patch levels.
6  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2014 August 19, 18:49:21
I have not had the opportunity to test any university features. What was the issue there?

The Nraas' Traveler mod enables the ability to have university classes in the homeworld (if you have the right rabbit-holes). When sims are enrolled in such a university, they cannot be employed because the classes take over the career section (that's by design, though). But when you type "fixall" a Flagrant System Error appears.
It goes something like this:
"Awesome.Careers.Awesome.Careers.Jerb:AllowAsCoworker"
"Awesome.Careers.Awesome.Careers.Jerb:CheckCoworkers"
It also appears that sims end up with a random career outfit assigned to them, though that might be a hitch of Traveler's.
This is my first time working with a homeworld University, so this is all quite new to me, too.
7  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2014 August 19, 06:56:35
Question: Does the "fixall" cheat still throw an error message when sims are enrolled in home-world-universities? I am currently fine-tuning the creation of a world on patch level 1.63, so I'll update AM as soon as I complete it. I'm trying to make the world run as smoothly as possible, but "fixall" always comes in handy.
8  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: I've Hit a Wall (Installing on Windows 7) on: 2013 September 27, 12:22:21
"Run as administrator" really does make a difference.
Firstly, Interactive Services Detection (a  Microsoft program) tried to abort the installation process each time I tried with the Base Game through Nightlife.
Secondly, all the games (except for the Base Game) refused to run if they were in Compatibility Mode (the last time, everything except Pets ran fine on Compatibility Mode).
A third curiosity was that Nightlife demanded Disk 2 for the patching process (previously it used Disk 1).
The installation process was also much slower this time. It took ages to make it back to Celebration Stuff, and then there was some sort of trouble so I ended up uninstalling that and Seasons to correct it.
When I went to reinstall Seasons, I was told that The Sims 2 was not installed on my computer. So I did a bit of exploring. I found that my computer has another registry clean-up program that runs when it senses danger. I combed through the files and found seven entires for The Sims 2 and its expansions. It says that they are all invalid application paths, and furthermore, that they are "High" on the severity scale.
I managed to restore the removed paths and told the program to ignore them infinitely. I have tested the game out for the past two days and have had no further problems.

So all is fixed! Thank you for being so patient with me, Starler.

I have one additional question, though. Since I am going to start installing the SecuROM-laden expansions, I thought I might as well go all out and install Castaway Stories as well.
I downloaded a NoCD patch by Vitality for it. But there is a hiccup. The readme that's included in the file states that another group who makes NoCD patches (Reloaded) still uses the SecuROM protection with their version. Since I have some patches by Reloaded for the remainder of my TS2 games, I am concerned. Can anyone confirm anything?

Late Update:

I decided not to risk loading the game after each installation and patching (until I got to Mansion and Garden Stuff). It works great. No SecuROM.
The only hiccup that exists is that Malwarebytes is convinced that "TS2UPD.EXE" is a Trojan.Radsom.ED. That's not the third-party NoCD that I use, so I don't know what its problem is.
9  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: I've Hit a Wall (Installing on Windows 7) on: 2013 September 22, 05:28:47
Yep, I am on the administrator account. I can still right-click on certain programs and choose "Run as administrator", though. Would that make any difference? I could uninstall everything again and try clicking that when I go to install the base game. Should I give it a whirl?

10  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: I've Hit a Wall (Installing on Windows 7) on: 2013 September 22, 02:13:40
Sorry, Starler. It's in my nature to be rather dramatic when I'm off on a tangent. However, I will try to curb it.

Updates:

Well, it let me uninstall Celebration Stuff without so much as a warning. Interesting.

I will now try to uninstall Seasons. Okay, this time I have been warned: "Do you want to uninstall The Sims 2 Seasons? Warning: your current saved games are incompatible with previous Sims 2 products. Uninstalling The Sims 2 Seasons will also delete your saved games. Do you wish to proceed?"

Now trying to uninstall the Base Game: "You currently have one or more expansion packs installed. You must uninstall all expansion packs before uninstalling The Sims 2."

Okay. I just popped The Sims 2 disk in. Clicked the setup button. "You are running the wrong version of The Sims 2. Please run The Sims 2 Seasons instead."

Clicked on the Seasons icon (which is using a previously serviceable NoCD patch). Result: "The Sims 2 is not installed on this system, or some of the required files have been deleted. This expansion pack requires The Sims 2 in order to run. Please install The Sims 2 before attempting to run this application."

Took out the NoCD patch and placed the original exe (and disk) in and the warning is the same.
11  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / I've Hit a Wall (Installing on Windows 7) on: 2013 September 21, 06:18:19
For the past week I have been prepping to install The Sims 2 and all of the Stuff and Expansion Packs. On Thursday I managed to install everything up to Nightlife. It played fine, and then I told the computer to sleep. When I returned many hours later, I found the delightful message: "The Sims 2 is not installed on this system, or some of the required files have been deleted. This expansion pack requires The Sims 2 in order to run. Please install The Sims 2 before attempting to run this application."
WHAT?
Google searching tells me that I don't have to uninstall my expansion packs, I just need to reinstall the Base Game. Really, though? My computer feels differently and won't allow the base game to be uninstalled until everthing else is. So I uninstall. I go through the Program files directory and make sure everything is gone. I run CCleaner, I defragment, I used a couple of other programs to triple check, and I run a registry scan. I am ready to try again.
I find a few scattered Yahoo questions and someone's blog. This blog talks about Windows 7 and TS2. Groovy. Yet I don't have half the problems they mention, so I figure that I am special snowflake enough that I don't have install everything in Safe Mode.
I reinstall the Base Game. I patch the Base Game. I make a copy of both the Programs directory and the Documents directory. I tuck them away on my desktop.  I install and patch everything through Celebration Stuff (the last game before SecuROM implementation). I check the game. It runs lovely. I CClean, defragment and run my other clean up programs. I check the game. It still runs great. I bid the computer good night and ready myself for the next faze of the battle.
Everything I have yet to install has SecuROM. I ready the tools, print my paperwork, make a restore point that I really don't trust my computer to keep, and then check my arsenal of No-CD patches from GameCopyWorld. I am ready.
Enter H&M Stuff. Deep breath. Damn SecuROM.  What if I screw this up? No room for doubt, do it, weakling! Suddenly: "The Sims 2 is not installed on this system, or some of the required files have been deleted. This expansion pack requires The Sims 2 in order to run. Please install The Sims 2 before attempting to run this application."
Don't panic. You made a copy of both directories. Go forth without fear.
I change the directories. No damn dice.
I'll spare you my many expressions of dismay and outrage. I need some assistance.

Sorry, they're nice an all, but adfly never works. Why are you using them? Put them somewhere we can access and maybe you'll get more interest.

Seconded. Could you put them on 4shared please?

Methinks they're not listening.

Try using DeAdf.ly on the links in the blog.

Rumor has it that there's another PC item coming this Thursday and ofc there's a new world due in Late Spring. I hope we'll get some cool shinies.

Meh. I do not think that two clones of the blackjack table can be considered very shiny.
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 03.14.2013) on: 2013 April 16, 12:02:42
Oops. I should have clarified. I did end up copying the CC Merged over to the Overrides folder. I always keep it updated, it's just that I have never had to have it in the Overrides folder before. It has always worked just fine in the DCBackup folder before now. I don't know why it decided to start acting up . The only content that I let the Launcher handle is Worlds—and they're certainly not a new thing. Meh.  I'll chalk it up to a cosmic mystery.  Roll Eyes
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 03.14.2013) on: 2013 April 16, 07:23:20
I do not have these problems. Are you using a mix of Launcher installed content and package files? If so, put the ccmerged.package in your overrides folder. Also, make sure you are using an updated ccmerged. You can get one here: http://nonasims.wordpress.com/tag/ccmerged/

One more thing, make sure you aren't using any out of date mod that alters store content moodlets, or some out of date premium content fix.

It worked! I've been testing it on and off for the last couple of days and have concluded that everything is now working as it should be. Thanks so much, notouching.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 03.14.2013) on: 2013 April 12, 01:53:16
I sure did! But I found out that the guilty PC content is not the Chicken Coop. The blame belongs to both the Pea Shooter and to the University Party Statue.

Here are the tests that I have been running:

PC Items Used to Obtain Test Results: Voodoo Doll, Tree of Prosperity, Multi-Tablet, and Weird Dancing Sunflower Thing...

Load Up 1: New DBC File consisting of Farm Decor + University Incentive Packs + Pea Shooter + Decades Stuff Pinball Machine +Chicken Coop PC
Result: No Moodlets for Any of the Tested PC

Load Up 2: New DBC File consisting of Farm Decor + University Incentive Packs + Pea Shooter + Decades Stuff Pinball Machine
Result: No Moodlets for Any of the Tested PC

Load Up 3: New DBC File consisting of Farm Decor + University Incentive Packs + Decades Stuff Pinball Machine
Result: No Moodlets for Any of the Tested PC

Load Up 4: New DBC File consisting of Farm Decor + University Incentive Packs
Result: No Moodlets for Any of the Tested PC

Load Up 5: Separated Chicken Coop Files (Feed Bag, Rare Eggs, Chicken Model, Coop, Baby Chick) +Standalone Pea Shooter + Standalone Decades Stuff Pinball Machine
Result: No Moodlets for Any of the Tested PC

Load Up 6: Separated Chicken Coop Files (Feed Bag, Rare Eggs, Chicken Model, Coop, Baby Chick)
Result: Huzzah! Moodlets for all!

Load Up 7: Separated Chicken Coop Files (Feed Bag, Rare Eggs, Chicken Model, Coop, Baby Chick) +Standalone Pea Shooter
Result: No Moodlets for Any of the Tested PC

Now, it would seem as though the Pea Shooter were the guilty party. Yet on Load Ups 3 & 4, the Pea Shooter was out and there were still no moodlets for the tested PC.  Undecided

This calls for more testing!

Load Up 8: Separated Chicken Coop Files (Feed Bag, Rare Eggs, Chicken Model, Coop, Baby Chick) +Standalone Decades Stuff Pinball  Machine
Result: Huzzah! Moodlets for all!

Load Up 9: just the Standalone Pea Shooter
Result: No Moodlets for Any of the Tested PC

Load Up 10: just the Standalone Decades Stuff Pinball Machine
Result: Huzzah! Moodlets for all!

Load Up 11: Standalone Pea Shooter + Standalone Decades Stuff Pinball Machine
Result:  No Moodlets for Any of the Test PC—surprise, surprise. Roll Eyes

New idea:

Load Up 12 New DBC File consisting of Farm Decor + University Incentive Packs + Separated Chicken Coop Files (Feed Bag, Rare Eggs, Chicken Model, Coop, Baby Chick)  + Standalone Decades Stuff Pinball Machine (NO University Party Statue)
Result: Huzzah! Moodlets for All!

Load Up 13: New DBC File consisting of Farm Decor + University Incentive Packs + Separated Chicken Coop Files (Feed Bag, Rare Eggs, Chicken Model, Coop, Baby Chick)  + Standalone Decades Stuff Pinball Machine + University Party Statue
Result: No Moodlets for Any of the Test PC

CONCLUSION: The Chicken Coop is NOT evil. The Pea Shooter and the University Party Statue are!

The only thing that the Pea Shooter and the University Party Statue have in common is that they are both preorder Premium Content. Would that somehow make them exceptional compared to the normal $tore-regulated PC?
Any advice is welcome.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 03.14.2013) on: 2013 April 11, 06:34:43
The chicken coop is EVIL. It hates the other PC items.
Everything (moodlets, animations) was working fine before I installed it, but then I realized that Multi-Tab wasn't working properly. After a series of successive tests, I realized that nothing other than the chicken coop was even receiving moodlets.
Get this: I took out the StoreFix file AND the CCMerged file, and the vile chicken coop still functions! The feed bag should be gone! The chicken talking to you should be gone! What the heck?
But lo, once CCMerged and the StoreFix are put back (and once the chicken coop is terminated), everything else begins to work again!

Has anyone else had similar results? I've got about twelve different saves concerning booming chicken farms, so I am feeling the loss rather keenly.

Does anyone know where this is from? I can't find it at the store and I'd like to know what set it's in because I want the mesh. It's a full body outfit.

You have to remember that EAxis likes to slip random outfits into $tore worlds.
What you're looking for is called the "Courteous And Casual Outfit" and it comes with Hidden Springs.

Have you tried troubleshooting?  Because Supernatural has been out for a while, and I think someone else would have brought this up by now if this were an actual widespread issue and not just tight pants.

Here are some reports from MTS: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=495420

I am having an issue with the carnival stuff. I like to go the DBC method, so I converted it and proceeded to test it out. Everything showed up fine, expect for two objects—the Bright Lights Carny Pillar, and the wall poster featuring Muscles Mascardo and his Band of Misfits. I was a bit miffed, but I decided to take the decrapified .Sims3Pack  and brave the Launcher. Well, everything installed fine there, too. I deleted the objects and clothes that had already been installed by the package file and made certain that I kept two missing objects intact. Yet when I load up the game—no poster and no pillar. So I would like to know if anyone else's posters and pillars are MIA.
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Default Start Music and screen, can it be changed. on: 2012 June 11, 10:00:22
For the screen, you'll want to go look on MTS. As to the music, it should randomly rotate depending on what expansions you have installed.

I just had my first Elder sim play blackjack. Her Fun bar was 97% green starting out, but within, oh, say thirty sim minutes, she had the glaring red "Stressed Out" moodlet. I fixed up her fun bar and sent her over to a slot machine only to receive the same results.

Update:
Please disregard the above. I figured it out. The Frugal trait was to blame.
25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2012 May 08, 04:33:58
WCIF a corrupted mesh for male adults that makes everything invisible except for the head? I know that this sounds super strange, but I am working on a project that requires a sim's decapitated head to be on display, and this was the only way I could think to do it.
