EA is going to have so many lawsuits on their hands, that they won't even think about a DRM ever again. They will most likely never use anything from Sony either.
I absolutely am cheering this protest on! Try to take away our rights, AND try to get money for the same game more than once! Who do they think they are!

Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Unofficial AL Patch - Assorted Fixes

I personally have refused to play until this conflict has been resolved, because the other three skyscrapers look ugly and industrial. It's actually kind of ironic. The decoration that looks like an apartment, is missing in Apartment Life.

I hate that downtown is FUBARed, because the new ugly building, overwrites the NL condo building. I miss that deco, and would rather have that building in belladonna, than have a badly messed up downtown.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / The Einstein Effect
|
on: 2008 September 11, 21:14:27
|
I don't know where to put this, so I hope no one minds it's here.
The Einstein effect is what I call the effect in the game that can cause a sim's child to get older than themselves. I call it the Einstein effect, because of Albert Einstein's theory of relativity. For those who do not know, it states that time is relative to the speed the object is traveling at. After thinking about this I realized in neighborhood view the map rotates around the center of your view. So I thought "that must be why sims on other lots never age, there moving faster than the lot you are on." Obviously the reason they never age is the way the game is programmed, and the hood would have to move a lot faster, but I thought it was an interesting coincidence. Any one else find any odd coincidences?

If the people that noticed change have dual core, that supports my theory. If not, it's back to the drawing board.
Edit: What about ATI cards? I have an ATI Radeon X1600 video card. Do you guys have an ATI card, because possibly that is behind it!
Windows XP Home SP2 iMac Intel via Bootcamp 2.16GHz, 0.98 GB RAM ATI Radeon X1600 All EP's No SP's because their not worth it.

My computer is running on an Intel Core 2 Duo, and because of the way the game is coded, it never took advantage of that. Big homes ALWAYS crashed... That is... Until I installed AL! First I was expecting a half hour install, but 10 minutes and it was fully installed. So I thought "Thats odd, I hope it installed properly." As it turned out, it not only installed properly, but after it created the user files, all the loading screens ran faster than it took to get a book to read. I made a huge mansion, that ran perfectly, as in no disappearing furnishings, or floating dogs! So my question is did EA actually make AL dual core compatible? If so I may lose my phobia of the game due to large house glitches! I am extremely suprised at how well it's running. Get rid of the heaps of glitches, and I'll be all set, and I hope many other people will be too.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Is this true? If so EA needs to get off their asses!

Is it true that NPC spawning is back in AL! If so I hope that Pes, or Darcy can fix it. I refuse to play a game that will inevitably crash, while EA just watches the cash flow in INSTEAD OF DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT! I tell ya the glitches keep getting worse, and worse! Also I know the little NL building is gone, which ruins Downtown, and have heard there is a problem with OFB windows, which ruins Bluewater! Great job EA! You just can't leave a good thing alone can you! I for one am not getting The Sims 3 EVER! If ugly sims weren't bad enough, the base game will be so messed up it will become a BFBVFS just from opening the file!

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / I WAS ROBBED WHILE BUYING A DOG!!!!
|
on: 2008 May 04, 17:28:33
|
I went out to buy a dog, and when I returned, all the furniture, windows, and doors were missing! The garage door even disappeared, so the people reset, and now the dog is floating in midair, while the people are in front of the mailbox!
The only ploppable objects remaining are:
-counters
-lamps
-aspiration, and career rewards
-water objects, like sinks, and toilets
-Food appliances
-Build mode objects
Will it corrupt anything?
If it helps it was a huge five story beach side mansion, but ran fairly well for it's size, plus sea reflection, but that is probably due to my really fast computer 2.16 GHz
I have all EP's and the missing FT patch.
Please help me, as people's replies on the BBS are useless!
