TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / No Aspiration Sim! Side effect of aging 6's up with playable?
|
on: 2008 November 19, 01:11:15

I made my sim grow to a teen, and aged up two friends, and his betrothed. But I asked him to go on a date with her, and no aspiration appeared. He dated other girls, and it appeared just fine. I plan on sending her to collage to give her an aspiration, but don't want to bork my new hood. So I must ask if anyone else has done this with the same outcome, and can you choose their aspiration once they become playable?
Edit: Using freetime option!

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Damn hedges! I want a new hack!

I like to surround my hedges with those short brick walkover fences. I like it, because it makes them look nicer. The stupid butler unfortunately sees it as a wall, and refuses to trim it, and obsesses over it instead of doing his job! Can someone make a hack to allow the hedges to be trimmed, regardless of surrounding fencing?

This is interesting. Now that the game is complete, seeing as you would have to be 10x stupider than Rod Humble to make another, we can now freely edit the game to our liking. I personally want someone to unlock all those hidden items in the game files. I wonder if we could bring back the original scenario made for the base game before they cut out weather. The scenario was a blackout, and if you could get through it with all motives at 90, you got a windmill that prevents power outages.

Woah! While searching through the basegame files, I found all the in game cursors! The thing is there are several versions for each cursor. Many of which appear to match with the UI in earlier versions of the game during creation! If you go to: http://www.snootysims.com/extrasindex.php?id=oldpicsand look in: Program Files/EA GAMES/The Sims 2/TSData/Res/UI/Cursors You can see similarities between the cursors and old game pics! This is a major discovery because, if the other UI files are in there, we could make an override to use those files instead of the current UI! Can someone use SimPE to see if the old files are in the UI package? If you will excuse me I will continue spelunking through The Sims 2's caves. Edit: Even the EP's after pets have the sledgehammer tool under multiple UI's. I wonder why?

Yecats: That community lot has residential lot Mailbox instead of community lot items. You have to change that. Also if you look, you put driveways on this lot, which leads me to believe it is a residential lot, that while drunk you decorated to look like a community lot.

I had tried with a vanilla game, and it happened all over again! Uhh! Luckily, I have not saved, and can now try with Debug Mode on.
Edit: Just tested I saw that the cat was responsible for the puddles, why always there, I don't know, but I saw it for myself. Also no error log appeared upon cleaning. I think the motives might just be in my head also. But people, keep notice because I think the patch might have brought back that old FT motive bug. My sims sleep dropped to 50 (1/4,) at work, and all of his motives were falling, including hunger.

I never play with debug mode on. It feels just weird, and fake. Also I hadn't installed a thing since my last house, and only have some fixes, and Lord Darcy's fixed up preorders, oh and some of the fords from the site (Just love the one with the glass roof.)
I will even list every fix I have:
SW-Fish-Packing-Station SW-Produce-Packing-Station SW-Improved-Housekeeping SW-Frozen-Customer-Fix SW-Harvested-Plants-Disappear-Promptly-AL-Only fatd-windowfix(Peasantry) Caged Pet Fixes(Simbology) djsplantsimfix noalignmentreqandchange(Peasantry) AL wall object shifting fixes (All except wall mounted TV)(Peasantry) BG espejopluscuamperfectofix(Peasantry) MM_ColumnTechCatalogueTextReplacement (MTS2) LdDarcy_MaxisObjectsCenterpiece (All) LdDarcy_Soundinfo_Fix LdDarcy_BookcaseArtNouveauFix zLdDarcy_SPObjectsFix LdDarcy_TV2TiledRepairAnimFix LdDarcy_JukeboxAnimFix creaturefixes(Pes) notownieregen(Pes) alfixes(Pes)

My game has done something weird. You see, I started playing a family I just made, and they were all messed up. Their needs were so out of whack, that my sims had empty energy after a day of work, when they had full before they left. Also, there were puddles in front of their violin so I had them clean the mess up, and the sim popped back. The mess just disappeared without the animation. Then a couple sim days later it was back. Cleaned it up same problem. Then it came back yet again and my sims died.
All EP's + K&B installed.
AL p2 may be a problem, because I still use Pescado's AL fixes.

I love your house by the way, I can never get the garage to look right when I try to join them. Well, you're ahead of me at least. I can't even figure out how to join the garage with a foundation. It's easy. 1. Make the garage first. Note: make it two story. 2. Turn on boolprop constrainfloorelevation false. 3. Extend the garage wall towards your foundation a couple tiles (for modular stairs.) 4. Connect the wall to your foundation by putting a strip of foundation between them. 5. Use the leveling tool to level the floor grid on your garage with the foundation, except the tiles immediately surrounding your garage door, notice the walls magically become foundation level. You will also notice the wall around your garage door is warped, but it will be fixed. 6. Build the first story of your house on the foundation, and then level the second story of your garage with the first story you just built. 7. Deactivate the cheat and finish building. Note: The walls around the garage will make a warp in whatever walling you put on it, you can hide this with vertical paneling, or my personal favorite, a hedge. Or just not hide it at all like bliss. If I had the time, I would enter this contest. It looks interesting, and I have picked up quite a few building, and furnishing techniques in the past. Maybe one day when I'm not up to my knees in work. I like all the posts so far. If anyone wants to contact me about build and buy mode techniques send me a PM. I know: - Basements - Advanced landscaping - Advanced roofing - The use of individualroofslopeangle # (Despite common belief, it was fixed in the pets patch, and now properly saves.) - Kitchen setup - The use of greenhouse tools on regular houses. - Lighting - Much more than this post can hold.

Does anyone with the patch know if the spawning has actually stopped, like it is supposed to? Maybe someone with Securom on their machine, who is willing to take out notownieregen?
