26  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: I asked Pescado...If I could share The TS3 Prima Guide on: 2009 June 09, 22:34:04

I think it's also worth noting that this particular file seems to be a bootleg PDF.  In the sense that it looks like it's scanned and converted, rather than an original document.  Some pages are slightly out of focus, and there are slight alignment issues on a few pages.

 - Gus

Yeah I noticed that too...

There are a few pages that are sideways, which is easily remedied...so it may be a scanned in copy of the Guide like you said.

Since when? EA store crap isn't shared through the booty. That is only for payshit. EA actually has the right to charge for their own crap if they want to which is why the Store stuff isn't in the booty.

Nah he didn't mean it like that. EA stuff has NEVER been posted in the Booty. He's saying that he's surprised that no one cares or is worried about reprisals from EA HERE, when there have been all kinds of (albeit hollow) threats about the "booty" from EA (over other paysite's shit) from time to time.

To be honest, I'm a little surprised that the shared stuff (i.e. Sims Store material) is being displayed so openly, even here.  Generally that's restricted to the sister site, which is not usually directly named.

 - Gus

Yeah I thought the same thing about the SS...but then again, that's how it was/is with the Sims 2...so I guess it shouldn't be all THAT surprising.

It would also be nice if you updated the title of thread.
Updated...

It's PDF.It's worth downloading, but ye gods, the amount of useless filler in between the tiny useful bits.  Particularly the "tips" and advice from the author ("Brownie Bites.")  This is probably good for the BBS sheeple, though.

'Tis true...

Seriously, just update your post to say what it is. Why would MATY, which freely shares links to ripped Store items, have a link removed to a file hosted at a third party? Especially when you got the site owner's permission to link it? Cut the confusion and say that it's the TS3 Prima Guide. Also, is this PDF or electronic version (tabbed)?

PDF version...and I'm updating now.

Didn't update the fuckery to begin with cause another forum got skittish about it being named what it actually was.

Course I should've known that at the MATY, things are a bit more free.

What's the big deal? There have already been links posted here for the Prima Guide.  Tongue

Not a big deal for moi, just want to keep it up for as long as possible...

Didn't know there were several (live) links for the same thing floating around...

I think she was trying to avoid posting that on the thread  Roll Eyes

Anyway thank you very much Miss Malevolent  Wink Sharing's fun

Can't take the credit...just passing it along.

...and he said yes or more specifically, "I have no idea what that is, so I don't see a problem."

Don't blame me when it ends up on FIRE when you try to use it.

Okay that made me laugh.

One is already out (but not in the configuration I want yet) and the other is coming soon.

PROBABLY before The Sims 3 is out.

So, advice?

Which one should I get?

35  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection on: 2008 December 10, 22:12:14
Uploaded the Asian Fusion clothes, hairs & objects, all trimmed and individually named.

Asian Fusion Clothes
Asian Fusion Hair
Asian Fusion Objects
Other sets
Castle Set, Cubic Set (Updated with fixed lamps), Deco Set (Updated with fixed lamp), Spooky Set (Updated with toddler mummy outfit & hair), The Sims 2 Store Clothing, The Sims 2 Store Collection Files ,The Sims 2 Store Hairs

The castle set is missing this skin:

The Red and White Veteran Knight

If you have it please let me know.

Yeah the Sims 2 Store Hairs don't work. I think when you changed the file names from the regular Maxis names, it did something to them. Or rather just the Elder hair. Cause while people were just complaining about the Bun hair not working...all the Sim Store Hairs are showing up as long straight for elders in Bodyshop.

What's left to buy? I'd like to contribute.
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Trying to Find A 500GB Notebook HDD on: 2008 July 01, 00:05:12
I love my laptop, it's shiny, the hard drive is getting kind of cramped though. I really don't want to have an external drive, and I can't put a second drive in as there is only one HD bay. There are two sizes I'm looking at right now, a 320GB 5400RPM or a 500GB 5400RPM. I would totally go for the 500GB, but I can't find them anywhere. From what I read they should already have been out months ago. They probably are at a few online shops, but my searchfu fails. Does anyone know where I could get one of these? It would be so awesome to have a drive that large, and then I should be able to comfortably dual boot XP and Vista.

The ASUS M70 can actually have two 500 gig harddrives...so you'd have a terabyte of storage...

It's funny, I just read it in one of my feeds from ShinyShiny and then I happened across your thread.

Another link from Gizmodo...

If you buy that, I'll be jealous.
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Spikey Clothing... on: 2007 November 13, 18:35:12
I never thought that it might be a video card or driver issue.  Never heard of this before.  Might need to check this out.

Eh, well, generally when it's a graphics card problem you have long bars or holes on the sims. Kind of like what happens when the objects file goes corrupt. Or, at least, changing drivers is what solved the weird clothing problem for someone on LJ recently. Whenever I've had the problem is was caused by one of those meshes you mentioned or the objects.package but apparently the graphics card is worth mentioning.

Yeah these aren't downloaded clothes...

These are Maxis meshes. Those aren't recolors of their clothes either, those are the ones that came with the game.

I'll try what you said, Morriganrant...rolling back the drivers.

Thanks.

Here are some pictures...when the sims are in front of mirrors it's worse.
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Spikey Clothing... on: 2007 November 10, 01:08:27
I've read that it is an issue with ATI graphics cards.

Is there a work around, or do I need to wait until ATI puts out another update for their card?

It only happens with certain clothes, not all of them.

Anyone have any ideas/solutions about this?

Thanks.
