26  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: EA Data Logging - Ambitions & Patch on: 2010 June 01, 20:58:30
It's extremely creepy.

I also note the following with interest in the patch information.
Quote
*Players who play The Sims 3 with game modifications can now create a folder in which to place their game modifications. The folder should be located here:

C:\Documents and Settings\YourComputer\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods

*When Mods are placed in the official Mod folder, a notification will appear to remind players that Mods are installed.
*Placing Mod packages into the Mod folder is an officially sanctioned way to bypass assembly signing verification. The Resource.cfg file must be placed in this folder in order for the modifications to work correctly.
*When Mods are installed that are incompatible, the player will receive a message notifying them of the error.
*Additional bug fixes to existing features

I wonder if they'll try to make AM incompatible?
27  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims cannot visit China? on: 2010 April 29, 20:53:03
I'm aware of that. However, I really had no issues with my game until that point.

I'm also interested to know if everyone else who had the same error had made the same mistake, it would suggest that caused the error. If they didn't, the two things are likely not related.
28  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims cannot visit China? on: 2010 April 29, 09:00:42
I had exactly the same issue. I was wondering if it was the cross-hood quests that were doing it but as someone pointed out, many people do those quests without any real issue. The only other things I can think may be a contributing factor is the fact I had Sims leave objects in the neighborhood in both cases right before I had both issues-in one case I was in the middle of making wine, in the other case I'd left a laptop my sim was in the middle of using and I HAD ignored the rule about not marrying foreign Sims.

I'm wondering if either factor caused the issue?

However it may just be random glitches, and may not be anything to do with either factor.
29  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: SUPPORT THE MUNICIPALITY! on: 2010 April 22, 20:51:02
Pescado, I threw in another 20 bucks, I hope it helps.
30  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Core mod Incompatibility with Awesome Mod? on: 2010 April 20, 21:10:03
There is no 2.5 version of AwesomeMod anymore.
Pescado, you might need to update the version numbers in this post, I think it might be causing the confusion this time. I got the message and figured it out it meant that you'd updated the version, you just hadn't updated the numbers on the post. Some of these guys may just not have been round here long enough to know that they needed to draw that conclusion.

I really like the layout of those roads and the placement of the workplaces, that layout makes sense to me. I'm really interested to see how it looks once you're finished.
32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.11/2.6/3.2 on: 2010 April 12, 20:48:49
Ok, that's just stupid. That type of issue is clearly due to graphics and coding and is unlikely to be anything to do with the settings on your individual pc.
33  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patching problem for Sims 3 on: 2010 April 04, 07:25:23
Forgetting to tell them that you're on a Mac is fairly major omission. Macs usually have different patches, different services available and the files are structured differently. You assumed that they would infer that from your post, which was a big assumption. New posters around here often can't find the patches just because they think they're allergic to clicking.

As to the subject of Bigpond I understand, beleive me. I have my net with them and they suck big time. However I seriously doubt they'd put up a pirated version. An omission in their service is much more likely. And if you're planning to request a refund, you will NEED to find the file they've missed, otherwise they're not going to treat you seriously.
34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patching problem for Sims 3 on: 2010 April 03, 20:18:48
Grimma, although she's throwing out way too many unnecessary expletives in this discussion, she's likely to be right about Telstra. They used to be the Government phone company here. Their service is spectacualrly bad and they're good at trying to pretend that something isn't screwing up. It's highly likely that they're dishing out the wrong patches but they're too lazy to bother checking that.

However, Booby McHooters if you want these guys to help you in the future, swearing at them and abusing them is probably not the way to do it. You're the one who were discussing your issue, if you're looking for help you absolutely have to provide your operating system and mention any other hacks you may have in your game.  Depending on the issue you usually also need to provide data like your graphics card, CPU and information on how old your drivers are. Otherwise people are purely taking a shot in the dark when it comes to helping you with your issue.
35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Plants not growing? on: 2010 April 03, 20:06:11
It's highly likely that you may need to, however why don't you try Jessnova's suggestion first and take out any custom mods other than AM?
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2010 April 03, 11:04:48
JacquiES, if you don't find anything with secubegone, you likely don't have SecuROM. As the other posters have explained, if you haven't launched the game before you installed the crack, you should be fine.

However if you want to be really sure there's one last test you can run. Click "Start" and "Run". Type Regedit and click "Ok". Do a search for cmdlineext.dll and securom and if you don't find either, you're definately in the clear.

I hope that helps.
37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Plants not growing? on: 2010 April 03, 09:29:09
Pussy I noticed several possible fixes in that thread, including checking for a CC conflict. It's also notable that when the OP in that thread started a new game, the issue seemed to resolve itself. Have you running a clean test game to see if the issue happens again?
38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can't go on vacation ! on: 2010 March 21, 01:04:20
Or maybe specific quests are triggering the issue?
39  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can't go on vacation ! on: 2010 March 20, 22:27:47
So it's possible that those cross-neighborhood quests cause the issue, but we need more evidence.
40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can't go on vacation ! on: 2010 March 20, 21:12:25
Saikatsu, so do you think it's some combination of actions that's triggering this error, or do you think it's just random?
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can't go on vacation ! on: 2010 March 20, 08:26:37
I'll double-check that Pescado and get back to you. It might just take a day or so to play another household to that point.

It seemed to trigger when she got a quest that went across a couple of neighborhoods, as in go to China to chase the key of James Vaughan or something. It also seemed to happen around the point that she got to level 3 in that 'hood but no-one else in the household was at that Visa level, and she can visit those neighborhoods but noone else can. However the quest has now finished and I'm still getting that error.

As soon as I've found out one way or another, I'll report back to you in this thread.

edit: Ok, I've checked and the other neighborhood isn't having that issue. I'm beginning to think this is a straightforward sign of the neighborhood imploding. It's not mod related. The only Mod I have in the game other than a few custom patterns is AwesomeMod.
42  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can't go on vacation ! on: 2010 March 20, 01:25:08
Actually, I've been having exactly the same issue and I'd been puzzling over it. I wasn't sure yet if it was linked to an issue with a specific quest or not, so I was going to wait before I mentioned anything.

And before anyone asks, I've got the most recent patch and a version of AM which is only a few days old.

Basically what happens is that if you send more than one Sim at a time it's like the family doesn't actually load, it's like the neighborhood is blank and you have a tiny little blank head in the corner. For an experiment, I ran it for over a day of Sim time, and it never loaded. Here's a pic.

I thought originally that it was linked to an owned lot when the family was able to go to Eypt (where they didn't have an owned lot) but I'm not sure about that now. The issue occurred in China as well where they didn't have an owned lot, however they were on the same quest that they were on in France, where they also experienced the error.

I've packaged up a copy of the family from right before the error occurs, in case Pescado decides he wants to take a look at the error.
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: EA Exchange Stupidity on: 2010 February 21, 05:16:53
All that will happen is the same thing that happened last time. There were groups of people who would rate things 5 just so they would stay on the exchange and "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" culture developed. The same thing will happen this time, except this time round people will be whining for recommendations.
44  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 February 12, 09:02:39
Is there a way to ensure that the NPC's don't get allocated specific items, and if not is there a way to fix it? One of the maids in my 'hood has the stupid Santa hats and I'm not sure how to get rid of it.

If you have AM installed you should be able to type the cheat, "mirror [sim first and last name]" and then have the ability to change the maid's hair and makeup. I've done it before, although it was a while ago.

Ah thank you so much, that tip will be extremely useful. The Santa hat is definitely not the only stupid NPC hairstyle I've seen, it's just the stupidest.

Witch I like that. I seem to remember you telling me a few months back that you struggled with roofs. That lot looks like you're mastering them quite nicely.
47  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sugah's Place Hacked AGAIN! on: 2010 January 25, 10:41:07
What I can't understand is why Sugah didn't change her passwords and tighten up her security if she's already been hacked once. I was positively paranoid about security for a while after Prism got hacked.
Yes, but you're Saraswati and your behavior is not typical of how other people operate. You are considerably more paranoid than the average bear, although not as paranoid as me. I don't even engage in my paranoia because I believe in an actual threat, I just do it as a hobby because I can.

Thank you Pescado, I take that as a compliment of sorts. Smiley I learned my lesson out of the fiasco when Prism got hacked, it was partially my own fault because I was with a crap host. I should have been paying more attention and getting off my arse and paying more attention to security. However, having made that mistake, I at least got off my rear end and I learned to be more cautious.
48  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sugah's Place Hacked AGAIN! on: 2010 January 25, 08:44:32
That makes a lot of sense to me Pescado. I remember last year, there were some OTT personalities who were way too ready to blame you for the ACJ hack, which is a bit like a Sims community version of the Politician's Syllogism from Yes Minister.

What I can't understand is why Sugah didn't change her passwords and tighten up her security if she's already been hacked once. I was positively paranoid about security for a while after Prism got hacked.
49  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sugah's Place Hacked AGAIN! on: 2010 January 25, 08:07:21
This sort of stuff seems to happen around this time of the year every year, due to bored kids. I'm not saying it absolutely isn't Atwa, but last year Prism and ACJ's (among hundreds of other sites) got hacked by that Turkish group. It is possible that that it's bored/obnoxious kids at work.
50  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: SUPPORT THE MUNICIPALITY! on: 2010 January 24, 20:36:16
I've donated. Smiley I don't want anything out of it, I'm happy to just contribute.
