51  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Antivirus Programs on: 2006 December 21, 18:26:37
I use.... NOTHING! I have ad-aware and that's it. You don't need all that junk sucking your resources. Even if you catch a virus or get spyware; it's pretty easy to get it removed if you know how to get rid of it.

If you have "DAR DAR DAR" people who get on the comp and install retarded stuff, buy a program that requires a password anytime -anything- get downloaded, then laugh at them when they complain that they can't be morons and download anymore pretty screen savers.

I tell you, people get viruses and spyware, most of the time, because they're like children and can't help but click the pretty, colorful, ad about how they won a free laptop, or how a magical product will make their wang the size of that picture that porn spammer sent us all a while ago.

ugh, curse you dyslexia.

Interesting enough, I just had a invisible dormy that was fighting wwith another dormy. He had just come back from class.

My first post in this thread was totally wrong, don't do anything I said. and...

DO NOT BURNATE THEM! DO-NOT-BURNATE-THEM!

I decided to see if I really could burnate them, and it crashed the entire game.

Forcing a error doesn't work, they reset, but are still invisible.

Catching them on fire also causes a instant crash. XD

Damn you spell nazi! I shall simply say -burn- when speaking of that term!!

Yes, I realize this. I was just saying it reminds me of when that happened before his mods appeared.

My old post in this thread is stupid, thus because I'm stupid.

Back before any of the expansion packs, I had invisible sims constanlty. Kids coming home from school with playables, adults from work with playable; I even had a damn headmaster become invisible a few times.

It completely stopped once I installed Uni. I've seen the dormies become partly invisible, but know it's because they escaped their myne door before it could pull them into the void that is a dormies room.

has anyone had non myne door invisibility happen since they installed NL or OFB?

edit: I think a invisible sim occurs when the game forgets to properly load the sim animations when they arrive at a lot, which would explain the dormy and customers also. The dormy goes into the myne and the code starts to make them vanish, but they cancel fast enough to escape and are now in a partly loaded state. The same happens when a customer is leaving the lot without paying and comes back invisible; the part that loads their animation never turned back on, because they never exactly left.

If that doesn't work, move the paintings to a different room. This reminds me of how some sims react if a baby craps itself while they're in the room, crushes their querie and they must go lecture the baby. o.0
57  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Orphaned toddlers have no wants in Pets on: 2006 December 20, 04:38:31
Try to burnate them. I've seen that fix some seemingly unfixable things, but I don't know if it fixes that kind of stuff though.
58  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Frustratng memory issuess in my hood on: 2006 December 19, 15:54:37
It was, except it had that baby boy name. It was akward because it's twin was already a halfway through child.
59  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Help! My computer is telling me I have a spyware and trojan on: 2006 December 19, 15:44:15
You might need to crt-alt-del and shut down all the programs. If you find a asshole program that won't let you turn it off, you can force it to shut down by turning off "explorer.exe". If you know the program name for ad-aware, you can run adaware with explorer off, and it leaves virtually all bad program defenseless to stop from getting deleted.

when you're finished. Either restart your computer, or restart explorer.exe.
60  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Frustratng memory issuess in my hood on: 2006 December 19, 15:39:07
I try, at all cost, to not move sims around so much because of oddities occuring. So far I'm on the ninth generation in a legacy, and when something starts occuring; I just cause a error on the whole lot or I burnate every single sim. You can see some WEIRD things deleted when you burnate sims. My all time favorite is a mystery baby from recent mother; like a limbo twin or something. Whatever the case was; that half & half sim abruptly appeared beside the mom on the ground when I returned to the lot.
61  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request for Faster Game Speed During Sleep with Pets on: 2006 December 16, 16:54:04
Since I'm a cheating bastard, but I don't have pets yet; I have a suggestion. the insiminator has a motive item that can reduce energy to 0%. Use that on the pets when it's time for sims to sleep. If they restore like toddler, use it again if they wake up before the sims.
62  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This mod looks interesting on: 2006 December 15, 03:37:35
I always use DJSims corrupt headmaster aspiration reward. The 5k simoleans is worth not having to deal with the head master.
63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This mod looks interesting on: 2006 December 14, 13:20:34
High meditation skill makes it so you can float, and teleport around while meditating. Completely uselss but gives you something to do while a sim is meditating I guess.
64  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Satisfying baby want on: 2006 December 11, 22:49:15
It's a shame a sim can't -refuse- to care for a child that isn't theirs. Ooops! The person who is watching the baby won't feed or change thier diaper and everyone is gone for another seven hours! XD
65  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Is this trying to tell me I have a bad graphics card? on: 2006 December 11, 14:05:38
Go for something that is just slightly outdated. Everything from Q2 of this year is lower priced now. By next year; they price will be a little lower than before. Just remember the rule; in computer age; if it's been out for six months; it's now obsolete to the high tech people, and the prices drops like a old woman with a broken hip.
66  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Long-dead Sim still on loading screen on: 2006 December 10, 22:26:07
What else does the option do besides get rid of dead characters in the loading screen?

What's the long distance plan on that phone service?

I got ripped off by DELL with this piece of crap computer I have right now. Useless PCI piece of garbage (and they made the new PCI-E version a WEEK after I bought this one). Do yourself a favor and by your comp, piece by piece and build one; like I'm going to do. Just be careful and it'll be well rewarding. I can't wait to have a computer that I know everything about, instead a piece of garbage that I have no clue about.
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Would new video card make a difference? on: 2006 December 10, 22:01:30
Whoa, I should read post all the way through before posting, but hey; I'm stupid, one miracle at a time.

Time for some intelligent talk for a moment...

My load time of about 28 minutes isn't bad considering my 17.4 GB download folder but I wouldn't mind faster.

17GB?! HOLY HELL! You need to go into that folder and see what you need, and what you downloaded, because it looked cool, but never actually use. I have a folder outside of the game that sits on my desktop that is 10GB of mods and clothing that I thought was awesome and tossed in there for whenever I actually want to use it in game. 17GB is a insanity size and you should REALLY get it down to under 1.5 GB (or as low as you possibly can). Do yourself this favor and your load time should go waaaaay down, resulting in you not smashing your computer and getting a new one, like EA partners in crime want.
69  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is it just my imagination? Less Coffee Bar Obsession... on: 2006 December 10, 10:14:51
We should just have JM and twojeff rewrite the whole game so sims aren't so moronicly stupid. Why couldn't they have done something neat like a programming that makes sims bored of certain items if they use it too much. If they use something too much in one day, BAM, boredom token, then they won't go near that unless you make them. I'd love to stop them from reading so much, or from visitors getting on that damn chessboard during their entire visit.

It'd have been nice if sims coould do multiple things at once. Like if another sim is in the room, you should be able to talk to them without staring right at them. Make food while talking, talk while another sim is performing a different action; talk while both sims are doing different actions.

But hey, people in hell want ice water, and this is EA I'm talking about.
70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Grrrrr! Crash while going into lot, on: 2006 December 08, 23:24:28
Taking out autoyak did the trick. All lots are loading normally again...

I really wish I knew about this ten neighborhoods ago, but oh well. Ten generations will happen at last.

What exactly is happening when this is occuring? Does a offworld loiterer cause the lot file to spazz out, or does it cause some kind of memory leak that results in the crash?
71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Grrrrr! Crash while going into lot, on: 2006 December 08, 22:48:24
YES! There are sims using cellphones when I save sometimes. I'm pretty sure multiple sims were talking on the cell when I saved to switch to another lot.

Is the lot salvagable? Lemme check to see if I can open it in Simpe.
72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Grrrrr! Crash while going into lot, on: 2006 December 08, 21:49:04
I'm getting pretty damn tired of this happening. wether it's a maxis neighborhood, or a brand new one; at one point something goes wrong and the lots crash while loading. Once this has happen, the neighborhood falls apart and there is no hope. Doing legacy is totally pointless because happens randomly, and I've never made it to the fourth generation without BFBVFS occuring for no apparent reason.

There is no real pattern to it. The lot loaded perfectly fine when I dropped out of it to prevent a first birth syndrome. I try to go back in and it loads halfway, the music starts skipping and BAM, the damn game crashes. I go back into the game, go to the lot, try again, CRASH!

There is no obvious reason to why these lots just randomly corrupt.
73  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Would new video card make a difference? on: 2006 December 08, 21:42:01
No, it wouldn't make much difference. EA demands you buy a new computer to play or their shock soldiers will come and destroy you.
74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This mod looks interesting on: 2006 December 07, 23:06:45
I think it would have been awesome for sims to get -better- at romance. I would have loved to see a sim be such a romancer that he made out (either male or female) and that sim kinda swayed around in shock afterwards.

Or even more hilarious. Give them a arrousal meter they needed to fill before they could woohoo, and if it got too high, they would lose focus until it got lowered by woohoo. Obviously, romance sims arrousal meter would raise on its own, since they're sex crazed. While the knowledge sims one would naturally lower on its own.
75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who the heck doesn't skip class for a date? on: 2006 November 28, 14:43:47
I never have young adults go on dates. If they're romance sims; they just woohoo EVERYONE in the dorm.
