TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Maybe dormie vulnerability isn't such a good thing

Uni was boring until nouni protect came to my attention. Now I can chuckle, and so can my sim (because I make them all grumpy) when they piss themselves, and collaspes from exhaustion. My real favorite for dormies is to make them all vampires and see how many remain by the time graduation comes. Usually NONE do, and I'm happy. XD

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can someone read this error log?

God dammit. Apparently, after removing all the mods, she and everyone other sim can't take a single step without causing a error. I put the MATY back in... and it started up again. I took MATY out and put the other mods in... it happen again. I took all the mods out and put in all the hacked items that have nothing to do with them walking around... it started up again.
... WTF?!

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Can someone read this error log?

I can't understand this shit, and it'll likely explain what mod is making the game unplayable. I've only got over a thousand and it would take hours to figure out which one (or more than one) is causing the problem.
If anyone could help, I'd be grateful.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: For those BBS-phobics....there's a new patch out.

Installed the patch, now my sims jump to the mail box in default stand position anytime I leave them with no commands. Strangely, plumbob is completely dissapearing for a couple sim minutes each time it happens...
reminds me of SimCity 4. Everytime the modders figured something out, Maxis -fixed it- and totally ruined screwed up everything.

If sims are turning up in your inventory, doesn't that imply that the GUIDs or NIDs or some other internal game reference numbers have become corrupted? Have you been deleting sims from the Neighbourhood, or lot-binning inhabited houses, or anything like that? Nope, keep my neighborhoods pretty clean with simpe. I have not found another sim in the inventory since the maid, but I have found more random items in the inventory, with no logical explanation as to why they're there. Interesting enough, I made a sim in CAS and went I moved him into the house... viola, never played before sim with a expensive victorian bed.

I love this mod more than any other. It use to drive me nutty when I'd tear down a building in the game and find a single tile that refused to go away.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: helpful ghosts

I've noticed this about ghost. 1. Ghost ALWAYS want to scare the living sims, no matter how nice they were, or relations with said sim. 2. Ghost go into haunt mode more often if the enviroment their tomb is low. I always make a pleasant cemetary for them. I've had ghost never haunt, ever, because of this. 3. Ghost will get pissed for the following things: Sold their objects they got aspiration in life from, certain event happens in the family (I had a ghost apparently come a -celebrate- their great grandson had gotten into private school... by making her piss her pants) that the dead sim would have been interested in in life, Someone with good relationship with them dies, and the ultimate source of pissing off a ghost, making them unlinked and putting them in a community lot. This is only for ghost who died of old old. May or may not comply to other death types, and likely I don't know everything, because look at the avatar!

I wish you could toss the baby in there until it's time to be aged. Then they could just take the runts to work with them instead of having the flamingo obsessive nannies try to burn down the house by baking baked alaska... for the toddler.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Mysterious items appearing in inventory,
|

I've had it happen a couple times already. I'll have a old sim give their cellphone to a teen family member before they die, but I'll find random items in the inventory that I never put in there. The more interesting item was a actually NPC sim that had managed to appear. I was so shocked that I didn't take a picture, and pulled the NPC out of the inventory. It was a maid, and she proceded to tell me it was getting late and she needed to leave, because it was around midnight at the time.
the most expensive item I've found from these interesting appearances was a Piano.
Is this happening to anyone else?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Making view painting/sculpture glitch hack?
|
on: 2006 February 01, 22:52:03
|
I've spoken of the view glitch, which I think was my first post here, and I was wondering if a hack could be made like the kick gnome, flamingo so the sims could use the glitch automatically. But is it possible make a macro where the sim will go to painting/sculpture then immediately cancel the command as soon as they start to view, to allow the glitch to occur?
I also wonder sometimes if this can be considered a glitch, since no one has complained about it, or even seemed to know about it.
For those who don't feel like searching for the orginal guide for this.
1. But a painting or sculpture. 2. Click for your sim to view that painting or sculpture. 3. Allow the sim to start the viewing process, and then immediately try to cancel them from viewing.
The game seems not to have a "Force stop viewing object" code for paintings and sculptures and instead of them just stopping, the game instantly has the sim finish the "view" query without all the retarded examining. So you get a 20% of the maximum fun increase for each time you do this, and it is proven faster than the kick stuff option currently because there is no chance of having to stop and pick up whatever fell over.
Just trying to spread what I think could speed up fun restoration even more than it already is.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Game needs a certain amount of (NON-NPC) townies?
|
on: 2006 January 30, 21:31:22
|
I was going through pleasant view deleting (non npc) townies, until there was a single adult left. When I loaded the neighborhood it took around five minutes for the game to load, and I went back to simpe to make sure nothing serious had happen. Nothing serious had happened, but I was startled to see that the game had re-created five children, five tens, and around ten adult townies. I figured the game wouldn't be able to do this with the notownieregen, but apparently the game needed this amount to load the neighborhood.
Anyone know why it would need useless townies?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nina and Dina bore me to tears
|

Dreamer: I usually revive Darleen and have Darren and her have a second child. Dirk marries... one of Brandi's sons. XD
Pleasant: I kill Angela by cowplant and toss her in the cemetary I made and have lIlith marry one of Brandi's children (usually the oldest). I let Mary-Sue and Daniel live the rest of their lives and attempt to do their Lifetime wants.
Goth: Mortimer goes to live with Nina and Cassandra has a child by Herb Oldie. Alexander has a gay relationship with a random sim.
Caliente: Mortimer moves in with Nina. They have a child before he dies. Because Mort always has retard LTW, I just toggle his on and let him have a good life till he passes. Dina moves in with Don.
Burb: John and Jennifer have the LTW completed, Lucy takes one of the Brandi boy's (usually the clone of Brandi).
Lothario: Don and Dina get LTW completed while they have a son (donicle) or a girl (donna) who takes over the household when they die.
Oldie: I have them adopt a ugly child and toggle their LTW. Herb becomes the town whore while Coral becomes near maxes out in the business jobs.
Which comes to a interesting question. How can Coral get a normal job as a elder? Is she glitched or something?
edity: Broke: Skip is revived and becomes has a affair with Brandi as many times as possible, and Brandi goes out and does the same but doesn't get caught. All the boys are moved out to other families and the broke family is usually the one to die out.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / STOP ASKING TO BE READ TOO!
|
on: 2006 January 17, 18:43:47
|
There has to be a mod somewhere that prevents children from asking to be read to. I already have one for the adults, but I'm growing so tired off the brats beelining for a adult and asking to be read too. What makes it more annoying is even if you cancel the query of the kid and adult, for some reason Maxis decided to make it so the adult query comes back and zoom, off they go wasting time getting a book.
For sanity, there must be a hack, or children will burn.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Flamingo vs painting glitch?
|
on: 2006 January 06, 20:51:50
|
I've heard people say the flamingo is the best way to raise fun, but I've always found the painting/sculpture glitch to be a little more effective. If anyone hasn't did this by accident then you won't know what the hell I'm talking about (Though I can't see people not having spotted it yet).
Click on a painting or whatever to have the sim view it, and cancel the query as soon as they start their little ramble about this picture they see constantly yet always amuses them. Instead of stopping, they will immediately do their laugh, sigh, and gain the fun. Putting up five queries and immediately canceling the moment each one goes into play will max the fun meter out, all in about fifteen sim minutes.
I'm just saying, because I haven't heard anyone talk about this yet, and it's fantastic.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Random Aspiration mod?
|
on: 2006 January 04, 15:56:50

Just wondering, would it be possible to have the game randomly assign a aspiration when a teen becomes a teen, and add a few more wants to the lifetime wants? As far as I can tell, there's only like twenty of them all together!
