Have you tried other lots included with this hood? A quick Google search informs that this hood is actually rather buggy.
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Late Night - can't load any neighbourhood on: 2010 October 28, 21:09:50
Have you tried uninstalling, reinstalling everything and starting clean?
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims cannot use (various) stairs. on: 2010 October 28, 19:36:48
Do you play with any CC at all, or is this a vanilla game? Are you fully patched?
4  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Game Freezing w/Awesomemod on: 2010 August 01, 19:41:38
I used the Easy-Patch Downloader to force LAA. There have been lots of reports that the game's 2GB RAM limit has caused excessive crashing.
Worked like a charm for me.
5  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AM not running on vanilla? on: 2010 July 31, 13:56:14
AM works just fine with only the base game, assuming you've patched it to the latest edition.

Sounds like a framework issue though. Are you putting AM in My Documents or in ye olde Program Files?
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Crash to Desktop on Zoom in? on: 2009 September 24, 16:47:20
Suck it up. It's your fuck-up, if it is CC, man up and fix your own problems.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: free houses WTF? on: 2009 September 18, 14:03:38
I ended up having to do a full reinstall when this happened to my game.

I believe it's caused by conflicting hacks, as the problem didn't occur until I updated my AM. I'm guessing a recent edition did not agree with my already occupied hacks folder.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 Virtual Drive? Is There a Simple Way to Delete This? on: 2009 September 18, 13:55:09
Yes, what she is describing is the flash drive that comes packaged with the Collector's Edition. It is titled Sims3CE. Now reread this sentence:

Despite my marginal technical skills, it was pretty hard to miss this thing: a 1.79 GB (60.5 MB used) "removeable disk" described under My Computer as Drive I, "Sims3CE."  I have no physical drive I.

No, you do not have a physical drive because it's a removable flash drive you dolt. The drive contains 2GB of free space, the 60.5 MB already on there is extra content and whatnot.

As for how to delete this... well you could try un-fucking-plugging it.

Here's the entire "..\Game\Bin" folder, pulled straight off my CD, in two parts. Contains Sims3GDF.dll and Shaders_Win32.precomp. Decided to .rar the whole thing in case we get anymore problem files.

Good job trying to come off as someone of a reasonably intelligent IQ.

No, she had it right.

The difference between away from keyboard and More Awesome Than You is that away from keyboard I get PAID to act like this.

Away from keyboard is not a place you are at, it is a verb.
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 24, 23:16:51
I'm positive that this has been asked but I can't seem to find it.
Is there any kind of in-game progress bar that shows weight and muscle? Similar to the fitness bar in TS2. It irritates me that I can't find the exact stats of my sim at any given time.

Also, my chick is in the Criminal career track, and whenever I send her off to work I tell her to workout. I hovered over the skill for awhile to try to monitor progress, but nothing happened. She was taken to jail, so I once more told her to work out. Same thing. Is it possible that once you reach a certain level you can no longer practice skills at work? I know it was working before.

TS3 sims have horrid levels of computer addiction as well. I cannot get my chick's girlfriend off of her damn laptop. One time, she came over and started using my sim's personal computer, broke it, and then wandered over to a table to pull her laptop out of her ass. She is not a computer whiz either.

--Seems like the 'stay the night' romantic option is as retarded as it was in TS2--I could never get the guest to actually *sleep* and the same thing happened when my Sim had her boyfriend stay over. He just wandered around and kept throwing up the bed thought bubble because he was so tired.

I tried to see if there was a "go to sleep" type option, but no such luck. Seems like it would have gone nicely with the new "stop doing that" option Tongue
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 24, 09:09:01
I'm trying to MERGE. BECOME ONE. I don't want to take anyone out of the house.
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 24, 08:58:26
I'm not sure if anyone else is as irritated as I am with how ridiculously complicated it is to merge fresh families. As in, making a family and then deciding later that I wanted to more in a long lost lover, relative, or what-have-you. For some reason, I also did not have the option to pack my stuff while combing the households, do I have to buy moving boxes or something?
In TS2, I moved out and merged sims left and right, trying to keep my households fresh and enjoyable. This is an irritating step back for me.

Also, I'm a little concerned about the "Copy To Town" option. It seems to be available for sims I already have placed down. Would this create a highly unwanted townie clone of that sim? It smells like a VBT.

To pack your items, go into Buy mode and click the third button in the Choose by Room/Choose by Type/Family Inventory (the box) column. That is your fambly inventory; if your entire fambly moves, that goes with it. Just use the Hand tool to pick up object and drop them in!

But when I told my family to move out there were two options on the Moving screen. Sell or Pack objects. Sell was checked, and Pack was grayed out. I seriously have to move all objects to inventory to Pack them?

To merge/split households, you have to enter Edit Town mode. Click on a household and there should be a button with two people separated by a line; that's how you split them up. I believe that you merge by taking sims off of the clipboard (on the left of the screen on transparent white boxes when you split/move famblies) or out of your "custom household box" (where CAS sims go) and dragging them into whatever household. You still can't put in more than eight sims, though (why a person want to, I have no idea!).

I know how to do it. I'm saying it's a pain in the ass.

EDIT: I just noticed you are referring to the Split option. Why use that when there's a Merge?
EDIT2: And on further inspection you cannot drag sims out of the CAS box under either option so now I know you are sprouting nonsense.

One thing I have not figured out yet is how to set up public places for parties.

That's strange. When you use the house telephone, there should be an option "Throw party at..." that lets you throw public parties. You can only choose between 'destination' or 'wedding' though, so you're stuck at home with those birthday parties.

Wedding parties at the beach are quite pretty though (even with my crappy graphics card).

<snip>

I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds the beach romance ruined by the waves clipping through the hair.

However the hell that works out. Transparency issue in those specific spots I suppose.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I had to do a whole new install and now the game wont load past the full screen on: 2009 March 24, 20:43:04
You only need the crack for your latest EP, which in your case is M&G. What you are looking for is a no-cd, which does exactly as it says, and a fixed edition. This means no SecuROM crap.
To install one of these, you need to go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff\TSBin, make a back-up of the original .exe, in the event that there is a patch release, and replace it with your new fancy one. Voila. No more CD's, no more SecuROM.

The images you are encountering refer to images of the game CD's. Essentially, it's a virtual copy of the disc that you can download to your computer. Since you clearly cannot put it in a CD drive, you need to mount it on a virtual drive. That's what DAEMON Tools and so forth are for. I am presuming you are using actual CD's, so none of this has anything to do with you. However, now you know Tongue
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What hacks/fixes are absolutely necessary on: 2008 December 09, 22:35:14
I buy the EPs as soon as they come out. I don't install SPs, with the exception of Glamor Life, because my Downloads folder is really freaking huge. Well over a Gig.
With that said I have never had a hood go BFBVFS on me. I have had error messages, but since I lurk hard on this forum they don't tend to last very long.
It all comes down to getting your head out of your ass, RTFM, and do your research.

Ffffuck.
Well, Sims2 seemed to be the only one it wasn't playing nice with so I thought it was worth a shot.

Thanks so much for the speedy reply, Oh Awesome One!
20  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / I definitely broke it on: 2008 June 29, 05:12:29
My game has been displaying SEVERE symptoms of graphical vomit as of late. I'd point the finger at usershaders, as I have a nVidia 8600, but I play with shaders off, and even before I fixed the issue I NEVER had anything this severe.

Essentially, when I go to load my neighborhood or a lot, empty or occupied, my game completely shits itself and starts throwing textures up like mad and essentially trying to make me have a seizure. I was thinking CC, but I'm not familiar with any instance of CC causing my menu to vanish and go insane as soon as I load a hood. This also occurs during loading screens, and causes my computer to launch into a stuttering fit until I can manage to pull up the task manager and shutdown the Sims.
This is a recent issue, and it began shortly after I patched & cracked FT, as well as updated my drivers. However, it also appears to be somewhat random, and so is really throwing me off when I try to troubleshoot.
I really hope it's not my hood, as it's fairly new, and I don't believe I've done anything outside my normal playing style.
I'm running XP, not Vista by the by.

I'm sure I could just wipe the hood and start a new, but I've grown rather attached to this family(only one so far). I'm willing to do so, but I'm more interested in finding out what the hell is borking my game.

I just tried flipping through hoods and lots to try and catch pics of the madness, but no go. I'm not particularly looking to screw my machine over anymore than necessary, but I'll keep trying to catch shots.

Thanks in advance!
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: EA/Maxis has found the Nvidia problem! on: 2008 March 15, 14:10:48
I run a GeForce 8600 GT, and if I don't turn off shaders I get the BSOD about 10 minutes within the loading of a lot. I don't have Norton on my computer and I turn everything, with the exception of iTunes, off before running Sims. These guys are so full of crap it's starting to really piss me off... Is anyone here going to bother fighting EA on the subject?

On a different note, I'm sorry if this sounds incredibly stupid... but what exactly do you guys mean by a "memory leak" and how would they fix it?
22  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Anyone want Enayla's Fanasty skins as Genetics? (Added Normal skins) on: 2008 February 22, 14:51:21
Is there a tutorial available on how to make NPC-available skins show up in CAS?

NPC-available skins cannot show up in CAS.
You can, however, re-download the original non-genetic set and they'll work just fine. This way they'll show up just like regular custom content. I think that's right anyway, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 October 17, 19:10:44
As I recall, there was a prior issue with nVidia cards causing blue-screen and it was fixed eventually. It has since returned. I have no business giving advise on this subject because I'm running ATI. IIRC, there's a thread about this somewhere. Pescado has said before though, the solution might not always be to "upgrade" your drivers, you might try rolling back to one you know works.

Yes, I've heard that advice too. However, I found a more recent post that suggested upgrading, so I thought I'd try that before I started rolling back.

And yes, there has always been a nVidia issue. I've used nVidia since the beginning so I dealt with the BSOD until they finally fixed the issue... THEN REBROKE IT. UGH.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 October 17, 18:55:02

It's ok to install from the disk. Do not run the game after you install. Before you run the game you must replace the game exe with the no-cd game exe. Make sure you change your desktop shortcut for the Sims so that it points to the Sims2Ep6.exe and not the Launcher.exe (or whatever it's called).

I can't answer your question about CureSecuRom because I've never used it. If you've only run the game with a no-cd, you shouldn't get SecuRom.

nVidia has notorious issues with Sims2, switch to ATI. Wink

Thank you!

And switching out video cards is easier said than done.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 October 17, 18:17:41
OK, so after reading topics/posts on this issue for 4 days now, I'm gonna ask(probably stupid questions) to re-re-recheck I'm doing this right.
Yes, I'm very paranoid about my computer.

First, is it safe to install BV from the disc or should I use a torrent instead? If I understand things correctly, I can use the disc so long as I avoid the original .exe.
I've been using CureSecuROM to scan for SecuROM on my computer. This WILL get the job done, right? Even if I do just use the disc to install, running the scanner will have it off immediately, right?
Second, using Invisigoth's advice in the beginning of the "BV and no CD?" thread will keep me safe and running smoothly, so far as intelligence goes.

And has anyone found a way around the conflicts between nVidia and BV? I tried updating my drivers and no go.(I have an 8600 GT)
