Well, something is up with my computer.  No clue what.

Restarting fixed the missing textures.  So...crisis averted?

Got purple words in CAS instead of hair.  I remember this appearing before in a thread somewhere, but I can't find it.

It says the texture name in purple and pink, and it's got a white background.

I have all EPs up to FT, no SPs.

Nec, it was never able to be selected while the sim was holding it.  (For me, at least.)

The option is still there for me, at any rate.  Tight pants?

Couldn't resist.  That cake is win.

Multiple spawn normally do have a penalty, HOWEVER, each alien baby is worth +5 points, as they are "cool". Also, the challenge ends when the heir "graduates from high school", which I took to mean when he or she reaches adulthood. Teens can be vampires, and thus immortal, so you would eventually just have a crapload of alien vampires. Since Hec did not ban household enlarging mods, it is certainly legal.

I'm afraid kutto has won this round.

I do recall that it was Milton Norfleet.

So, who is all judging this lot?

Nevermind about this.  Invisi helped me mount an image, and it's swell.  Thanks to you all.
65  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Base Sims 2 Won't Even Install on: 2007 December 28, 19:29:13
Yep.  I've done that, and it's worked like a charm.  But now I need to get a crack because it refuses to read the disk to even load the game.  So, I'm trying to find a Seasons crack.
66  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Base Sims 2 Won't Even Install on: 2007 December 28, 05:18:01
Well, it opens and I can browse fine.  However, the control.dat file is only 1 KB.  Is that normal?
67  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Base Sims 2 Won't Even Install on: 2007 December 27, 21:36:43
Nope.  I've clicked okay, accept, etc.  And it still won't start to read from the disk.  I also only have one CD drive.
68  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Base Sims 2 Won't Even Install on: 2007 December 27, 17:38:37
So, here's the deal.  Newly formatted hard drive, with plenty of drive space, refuses to install TS2 Base.

I've heard it's my OS, which is now going, after restoring it back to XP from Vista.

It'll install up to 23%, but when I'm prompted to put the second disc in and do so, it just never starts up again.  The file it's copying is control1.dat, if that matters.

I wonder; were they entering sethighestallowedlevel #, without switching # for a number?

I'm still livid with the fact that they won't throw the Dev Team under the bus for fucking up so badly.  Seriously!  They're paid to to heir jobs.  If they can't do their job (develop a game with most major bugs removed), then they should be sacked and EA should start anew.

When you said "On this side of the pond" I was mentally preparing for a trig problem.  Tongue
74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Game crashing when trying to change appearance through mirror on: 2007 November 13, 23:42:47
Did you read MY post?

Are the meshes above or in the same level as the texture?
75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Game crashing when trying to change appearance through mirror on: 2007 November 12, 04:17:59
I found out yesterday that it doesn't always delete actual orphans. After removing "orphans" from my downloads folder, I had a bunch of missing meshes in game when I opened it up - which returned when I put the "orphans" back in with my downloads. All my content is arranged in sub folders (clothing, makeup, hair, etc. so I know it's not because of orphans being in the wrong folders).

Did you RTFM?

Had you RTFM, you'd have know that it only detects orphans if the meshes and textures are in the same folder or a folder beneath it.
