Ui. My graphics card REALLY doesn't like this game.
*snip*
Or your graphics card REALLY likes M.C. Escher.

The more I look at that picture, the dizzier I get.

That was your one, right? Please note that basic reading and writing skills are required in this forum, too.

Now, if you have something to say here, please take the trouble to say it clearly or else don't bother. Your post is giving me a headache.
A lot of trouble likely went into that post.  It's not the poster's fault that he/she isn't a fluent English speaker.
28  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Baby Roaster Excluded From Ballot! ROCK THE VOTE! on: 2009 February 26, 05:27:39
And all those deleted posts? Every single one of them are people complaining asking why isn't the baby roaster on the vote.
Assuming this is the case, wouldn't it be better to post some kind of explanation with the poll/in the thread/somewhere on MTS2?  Deleting the posts is just going to upset people, and not answer their question.

So, out of curiosity, is there a "Why InTEEN sucks" thread somewhere? I haven't figured out why everyone hates it so much.
Briefly: it has its fingers in a lot of areas and so tends to be incompatible with a number of things and cause problems when used with other mods, especially if user is stupid and has not read the documentation.  Said stupid users sometimes come here with support for InTeen problems instead of going to the proper venue, or come here complaining that MATY hacks are breaking things when the problem is a conflict with InTeen.

Anybody else think it's funny that there was a big kerfluffle about MTS2 hosting the Baby-Q and not allowing complainy comments against it, and now they are excluding it from the poll and not allowing complainy comments in favor of it? Is it some kind of 'leave no-one unpissed off' campaign? Tongue

What is it with these boards that whenever someone says anything it instantly gets attacked or shunned? I really liked this site because of the respect I saw on the boards, but apparently it doesn't exist anymore. I shouldn't have to justify everything I say. We are all different people and we all have different tastes and opinions. I don't mind if people disagree with me, but it gets ridiculous when you have to keep justifying any small opinion and the main point is forgotten.
It's standard-issue MATY.  The more you let it get to you and try to justify yourself the more people will pick on you.  Just ignore it and move on.

Do you mean something like VirtualPC?

VirtualPC on Macs was always emulation, not virtualization. VPC never made it over to Intel Macs as virtualization product, largely because Microsoft bought out the product from Connectix.

Ah, I wasn't familiar with the differences.  Live and learn.  (I also didn't notice that VPC died because... it sucked and I stopped using it. Tongue)

(edited for dangling quote tag.)

And I've heard that you can play games for Windows on Mac by using a virtual OS. Am I Correct?

Do you mean something like VirtualPC?  If so, I'm pretty sure those aren't intended for gaming.  You CAN, but the results are pretty miserable and slow.  Older games do okay, but usually they're better in DosBox.

I know I read from one of the creator's camp things awhile back that besides an option to turn off aging for the hood, there was also an option to make it so townies and other families didn't do anything life-changing like marriage, getting knocked up, getting jobs or quitting jobs, etc. so they'd just do simple things like go to work and visit community lots and simply take care of their needs. [...] And from how I understood changing families works, you basically zoom way out of the house you're playing, back into the neighborhood view and zoom back in on the next house you want to play. If that's the case, it wouldn't be too hard to change families.
If this is so then I think I could deal with it.  I believe I read also that aging is slowdownable, so one could compensate for aging done while the player was playing other families in rotation.  And it would enable me to skip families in the rotation who are stuck in a boring spot.

I was a lot happier when TS3 was a clear Do Not Want, but now I'm a bit torn.  IF one could rotate and play a neighborhood this way I think I'd like it; and the new personality system seems interesting; and the placing and rotating of objects without grid restrictions is nice too.  I even like the idea of being able to color hair/furniture/everything whatever color you want instead of having to mess with recolor files....

...But the sims still look doughy-faced, and the nixing of user-made content is very undesirable.  I like some Maxis stuff fine, but I get bored with it after a while, and it tends to all be kind of middle-of-the-road or just goofy.  Also I can't help but think EA are doing it this way on purpose because they've figured out people will pay through the nose for Sims downloads and they want to be the only act in town.  Tongue

As far as I know, K&B Stuff Pack isn't available for Mac.
36  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Oops! QuickTime broke it! (Mac issue) on: 2009 February 10, 22:05:16
Aspyr indicates the issue is only with Quicktime 7.6 in OS 10.4.x.  If you're running 10.5.x, you're good.

Traits of baby Sims are determined by their mother humor during the pregnancy. While we played a baby had difficulties to sleep and other problems, because his mother hadn't an easy pregnancy.
This is an interesting idea, but ... does it only affect the baby's behavior as a baby?  I do not want babies whose personality for their WHOLE LIVES is entirely determined by mom's mood while pregnant.  I would have a lot of bland, boring, well-behaved sims.
38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 L&P on: 2009 February 03, 21:10:39
My impression now is the TS3 is largely being marketed as the Sims game in which you can't do anything that most long-term sims players have come to count on doing.
They did that when they ruined sim city, with simcity societies too.  They wanted to attract people who weren't into sim city, and managed to alienate most of their current simcity fan base.  You'd think they'd learn from their previous mistake?

Coming next: a remake of SimFarm in which you cannot farm!
39  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More FUBAR Than You January: Gameplay Glitches on: 2009 February 02, 20:59:40
Eaglezero not only wins but also gives us a very clear view of what we can expect from TS3. If there was a Sims 3 Bork-pool this would have to go in there.

If this were Sims 3, that would be INTENTIONAL.
40  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More FUBAR Than You January: Gameplay Glitches on: 2009 January 30, 21:10:15
This just happened to me around ten minutes ago, so I took some pictures and thought I'd share. For some unknown (to me) reason, the textures of everything in the house swapped around. Fun stuff like my sim's pajamas now as the kitchen floor, etc. It looked pretty ridiculous. I took lots of pictures.
I completely lost it when I saw his belly button on the floor next to his dining chair.  Does it tickle when people walk on there?
41  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: I accidentally lotbinned a family. Am I safe? on: 2009 January 29, 07:11:07
I was afraid of that. Thanks.
42  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / I accidentally lotbinned a family. Am I safe? on: 2009 January 29, 04:27:13
I accidentally threw a family into the lotbin instead of the family bin.  I didn't mean to.  Cry  It was a brand-new family in a brand-new neighborhood.  They had never been played (I entered the lot only once to plunk down a phone) and never met anyone outside of their own household.  Am I safe, or still at risk for a BFBVFS?
43  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Oops! QuickTime broke it! (Mac issue) on: 2009 January 25, 07:32:15
At least it looks like you are not alone. (And really... set aside a Bootcamp partition and play in Windows. Aspyr is just concentrated shit when it comes to EA ports)
Yep, downgrading QuickTime did the trick.  Flargle.  This happened before, too, with QuickTime.  At least Aspyr released the patch for that one pretty fast.

And thanks for the suggestion, but I don't want to have to a) deal with Windows and b) buy all the games over again.  Tongue  Besides, this way, by the time the Mac ports are released EA has quelled the SERIOUSLY major bugs and Pescado has fixed the rest.
44  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Oops! QuickTime broke it! (Mac issue) on: 2009 January 25, 06:14:18
I no longer have a Mac install of TS2 so this is a long shot: Aspyr has their launch movie saved out as a QuickTime file. Find that file and rename it -- the game is smart enough to gracefully skip the launch movie if it can't be found.
Doesn't seem to help.  It isn't even getting that far -- it crashes before it even appeared to do anything (click on the icon, it would blink a few times as though it were going to start, and then nothing).  Thanks, though.
45  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Oops! QuickTime broke it! (Mac issue) on: 2009 January 25, 05:24:24
I installed the QuickTime 7.6 upgrade today and it appears to be causing BV to crash on launch (I didn't change anything else, and removing my downloads/deleting groups.cache/clean install didn't help).  Can any other Mac users confirm or deny?  God dammit. Tongue
46  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More FUBAR Than You January: Gameplay Glitches on: 2009 January 23, 21:40:55
This is the weirdest one I've had in a while.  This lady here was married to a guy named Stacey, who died of old age.  The following evening his ghost appeared and was haunting around.  Meanwhile, she was just hopping into bed with one of her other lovers (I just noticed the backwards arm).  Then the "boi-oing!" cheating sound played and:

... they both leapt out of bed as though about to confront an angry spouse... but then nothing happened.  So they jumped back in bed again, and I get this message:

The dead sim in question always was a posessive hypocritical bastard (he was deeply offended when any of his several lovers "cheated" on him), but come on! Tongue

This thread needs MORE!

Here's one from PeggyG:

I would love it if someone did a recolor with eyes and teeth.

And here's one from Bipsouille:

I would love this one recolored with some lettuce, refried beans, and cheese.  Grin

(edited for bad code. oops.)
48  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More FUBAR Than You January: Gameplay Glitches on: 2009 January 20, 21:06:08
I've got 2 glitches.
I moved into a new house, and wondered where the cats had gone to. They had been stuck, sinking into the ground, where they probably will stay till they starve. (By the way, does anyone know if this can be fixed?)
That's caused by a continual error on your pets- do you have Atavera's Window opening hack? If so, get the updated version- M&G changed the bay windows somehow.

I also had it caused by a custom bed -- from Around the Sims 2, I think.

But mostly with that picture made me go "Look, sea kittens!" Grin

Stepstool: not doing it right

It appeared to be glued to his chest and waggled around when he moved.  Sadly when he left the telescope it did not stay.

Rounded pool edges at ground level create holes in second-story floor??

And finally... what the hell is on fire?

It started without warning; there was no thunder or lightning, nothing on that tile to burn.  Mystery fire!
