Along those lines, I'm also hearing that the needs aren't that easily met in order to leave you free to do other stuff. (skills, friends, etc) Didn't EAxis say we wouldn't have to concentrate so much on basic needs this time around? So another FAIL.

It really sounds too much like the Stories series they put out. Lost interest in that once I got all the way thru.

  So I'm hearing that there are community lots that you can't edit? You can't buy/build any changes to those lots? (In fact, you can't even lower the walls to see inside?) Examples given to me where a lot named "Little Corsican Bistro". I thought we were supposed to be able to follow our Sims inside stores & restaurants? Can someone who has it up & running confirm this?

So if EAxis has somehow fucked up doors or placement of things on those lots, we can't fix those things. FAIL.

To completely remove all traces of SecuROM on your PC (as it may mess with other things, no one really knows) follow the instructions in the very first post on the first page of this thread. If you have problems, PM me & I'll walk you thru it. Did you download the patched version of the no-cd crack already? If so, you don't need to get the official patch from the offical site, it's already included in the new no-cd patch. Go back a couple pages here to see the instructions on WHERE to place the new no-cd .exe file. NO, do not delete the old one but back it up someplace safe on your PC.   

Where did you see it? So you're not sure if you've removed it completely?

Don't worry about it, I was a noob to the whole no-cd thing too when I came here. Never thought I'd resort to something like that but there ya go............

It's version 1.10.0.122 (14.5MB - it's the only file you need) and read my post above on where to place it. (I'll post those again below) I've started using those no matter what, it's just easier? Plus saves wear/tear on the CD. Those guys at Bleeping Computer are great, I've been there before too.

That goes under this: Click My Computer, Click whatever hard-drive you have you game on, Click program files, Click EA games, Click Bon Voyage, Click TS bin and copy the new .exe file there. (Make sure you backup the other one in case.) Then just close all those folders and click on your BV icon on the desktop. This allows you to play without the CD (which means no SecuROM!)

Sky - if you're having trouble following those removal instructions, lemme know. PM me or something. (have you ever messed with your registry files before?) It can be pretty daunting if you haven't but it works, trust everyone here!

That's exactly what happened to me! (besides not being able to read CD/DVD anymore) My USB SanDisk mini-cruzer wouldn't read either......it showed emtpy, even though I know I had tons of stuff backed up on it.  Once I removed SecuROM, everything was fine.

What exactly are you asking? Have you removed all traces of SecuROM from your PC? Do you need help with that? Or do you need help using the no-cd crack?

This is what happens when the names MATY and Pescado are thrown around on the BBS.  Those chillen' come here for help thinkin' anyone here gives a shit.

It installs and runs when you use the disc for Bon Voyage to play. Once you bypass that (using a different shortcut like a no-cd patch) you no longer need to use the Bon Voyage disc to play the game therefore no SecuROM.   

Thanks, MutantBunny! I'm not sure why it didn't work with the first no-cd file I tried but it worked the second time.  And I WAS putting it in the right place, thanks for verifying to me where it goes. 

Same thing happening to me (I have Vista  which comes with DirectX 10 installed) I had a no-cd crack for Seasons that worked great but this one from GameCopyWorld isn't working.  Or am I doing it wrong?  Can someone provide instructions on where the replacement .exe I downloaded goes?
