I don't have a decent reputation, I am a total cow - and everyone knows it! Is Marhis still around? I can't remember anything about this sims2 stuff any more, sadly (or gladly, depending how you look at it)

Veronica, the point is, support for this feature HAS MOVED. That is stated in the first and the last post in that thread - so you didn't need to read past page 1 at all. Had you bothered to read ANY posts whatsoever you would have come to the new location and found a forum with the grand total of about 10 active users and 20 posts in it (my users are a rare and taciturn lot) and would have seen the 19th post deals with this very issue. You do have time to read 20 posts I assume?

According to Peter, those files are not managed directly by s3pe at all. It's something to do presumably with .Net and the OS as a result of some of the functions used. Peter has looked through his code on many occasions trying to deal with this problem, and he says there is nowhere in his code itself that creates these files nor can find out what they are called in order to delete them.
I don't even recommend using the dbc squeezer at all - we added it as a favor to someone who thought it would be a good idea, as it seemed a harmless enough request. To my mind the whole process is just a huge unnecessary hassle. Why don't you use Granthes' launcher? That deals with all the dbc stuff itself - apparently without the unwanted system overhead.

The only problem would be if a player didn't want their sim to "forget" things that had happened in the past. The stubs as I understand it are holding just enough info to fill in the strings in the memories stored on each sim - eg name, to provide "had first kiss with <name>" "was potty trained by <name>". To get rid of everything that needs a stub, the sim would have to look like an amnesic without a past!
What would have been better for EA to do is assign fixed NIDs in a particular range to their townies and NPCs so that if your sim liked Goopy in town 1, rather than making a stump to him in town 2 where there is already a living Goopy, she is preset with relationships to the new town's goopy.

I happen to think it is patronising to "sanitise" your downloads just in case poor little sheeples can't be bothered to read any instructions and warnings you took the trouble to write. I like to think my fellow sims players are intelligent people who can make their own decisions what they will and won't have in their game.

The game retains NO data on the past state of sims. This means that when the check is performed to see what the babby should become, look like, or behave like, it uses the data from the parents, as they exist, right NOW.
So if the father dies the day before the baby is born, the baby will be a ghost?

I actually had to remove all Buzzler's mods that weren't updated for LN specifically. I can't blame all my problems on his mods, but it worked.
You say it like you're surprised. EVERYONE should ALWAYS remove ALL mods when installing an EP or patch, putting them back only when the creator of the mod says it is ok to do so, or makes an updated version.

One thing to watch for when a group of visitors arrive in a shell block is don't let your host sim leave his apartment to meet them in the foyer. Once he leaves his own apartment, the game considers him "not at home" and the visitors leave once they detect that.

Why not just use the walls always up option? Also there's no such thing as a non-default wall. The closest thing to what your are asking for would be a decorative item that looks like a wall section.
What expert knowledge leads you to make this claim? I don't recognise your name. Apologies if you are (e.g.) Wes or Twallan with a different username.
