A theory over at the boolprop forum, is that motive decay is adjusted depending on how high your sims mood meter is, at the time of the age transition, and then adjusted every wek thereafter. A really depressed sim would get an added motive decay, whereas for a sim in platinum mood, the motive decay rate would be diminished. Weekly adjustments are then added on top of this, so you get a snowball effect. Thus, unhappy sims are tired, gotta pee, hungry and generally more cranky than usual.

I just loaded up a house with an ancient sim, who has more than 30 best friends. After a day had gone by, they became BFF. Except her memory panel shows 30 times the same memory : Made First BFF
Once is ok, but 30? Needs stombination.

What does townifying mean?
"Townifying" only changes some properties in the GZPS, so that those items appear without the custom content marker, thus making them available in the townies clothing pool. Cyperangel, did you try deleting the CasThumbnails.package file? Nope, can't say I did. Will that help on the bugged out loading, or the missing jewelry?

I went about townifying alll my clothes, but had to delete the ones done, and redo from a backup, as my game kept crashing when i tried to load lots or CAS after the townifying had been done. Once i redid from the backup, i could load everything again, so something went wrong. Also, I categorized some 120 odd downloads of jewelry as jewelry, all set as available anywhere. But when my sim heads out to shop for blingbling, only around 20 shows up.... The rest just went poof.

SKadi: Nope, no screensaver, that was one of the first things to get chucked out. As was the windows automatic updates, i do em manually now, cause I thought maybe they were the culprit while downloading or something along that line. I actually disabled the screensaver so I could get a look at the clock in the lower right corner, to see when it had given up.
Angelyne: Well, ive tried with 5 different versions of my video driver, and swapped just about anything my comp and the warranty on the comp will allow me to swap. I cant fiddle with the interior of the comp due to the warranty. And no, It havent always been doing this, it started out around 4 months ago, so whatever it was worked like a charm the first year i had the comp. Ive googled all i could about hardware from my comp, and tracked down the updated drivers for everything inside. No help there tho. Darn thing still dies on me. As for reinstalling drivers.... is 20 odd times enough? Thats about how many the comp has been completely reinstalled now during the last couple of months. Safe mode... Ill try that again.

Erm, can't cay it has. Also, the Motherboard in its entirety has been replaced when I last had the comp in for repairs. That would be a month ago, give or take a few days. So, based on the assumption that they arent such cheapskates that they reuse the old battery, there really should be no problem there. It behaves nicely, although the sound in sims 2 have taken to stuttering after a long playsession. The odd thing about it all, is that it seems the freezes happens mostly when I am not in front of the computer. I leave it for 5 minutes to go raid the fridge, or I head to bed or to work, and when I come back, Wham! Its dead. Once in a blue moon, it will do it while I am actually sitting there, trying to do stuff, but most of the occurances has been when I werent around. Ive noted dates and times on the last 10 times it has happened. None of the times match each other, some happen at 1 pm, some at 3 pm, some at just after midnight, some at 5 am, and once at 7 pm... I've tried changing my mouse, keyboard and monitors, I've reformatted the dang thing like 20 times now, including deleting the partition on the harddrive (I only have 1 partition, covering the whole drive), and then re-partitioning the drive, formatting and reinstalling XP. I have used 5 different drivers for my monitor, tested with antivirus and antispyware installed, and without, and with different programs installed. Same net result all the fracking time. Heck, out of desperation, I have arrrred 2 other versions of XP, and tried those on for change, and still the same result. I've scanned and rescanned my harddrive for faulty sections, stresstested the RAM, got it swapped for new RAM, got a new MB, CPU and GFX card, in case that was the culprits. No result. (Glad I am not posting this on grammar day )

Sorry in advance for derailing the thread a little, but perhaps the good folks can help me out as well...
I havent been suffering from BSOD, but from freezes. A. k. a. where the entire comp just suddenly decides to not do anything at all anymore. Mouse wont move, the clock in the lower right corner stops changing etc. I have had my comp in for repairs twice, as its under warranty, and they have changed the RAM, CPU, MB and the GFX card. The comp still freezes tho. Like this morning, where i got up, went to the comp, and the clock said it was 03.58, while my alarm clock kept insisting it was well past 8 am... It does not happen at any specific times, it happens both in the AM, and the PM, and it happens without any clear cause when it comes to programs active, as it can do it while i got a browser open, while im playing the sims, or while nothing is opened at all.
Any good ideas? Besides chucking the comp out a 3'rd story window....

Ignore the Sheeple, for they know not better. Or borrow a rocket launcher from Pes, and make a quick display out of them.
You and Peter rock, for carrying on the torch, even if Quaxi comesback later, he should be gratefull that you are trying to give his work to the public.
Kudos to ya both.

Thank you very much. Like i wrote, I read your Dark Side of the Moon story, and am feeling quite inspired into playing the challenge. But I am also feeling quite inspired by your house, so I figured id best stock up on goodies before i start out. Thanks again.

oof, sorry.
Ill get it saved in a backwards compatible state as well and add that.
BTW, Zazazu... I read your Dark side of the moon thingy, and I gotta know. Any chance you know where you got that glass toilet from? Ive been searching high and low, and can't seem to locate it...
ok, compatible version up. It goes back to office 97 and 2003 versions... (according to the program.)

ok, ive done a bit of editing, for my own peace of mind...
Attached is the challenge, ordered by careers, with a handy index. Ive combined his pets, Seasons and the test rules for BV into one document. I find it easiest to keep open in the background, as its searchable. Its made with office 2007, so you will be needing that i think, to get the formatting right.

well, i made a secret lot, and tested it last night, and what i did was the following
Make a commercial lot. Build whatever needed to make the secret lot function, like stereo, tea set etc. As mentioned in the post above.
Then save, changelotzoning (then save button goes grey if you click on buy mode nd back to build) Then exit to neighbourhood view, move the lot to lotbin. Then place it whereever you want it to hide.
I then went to regular hood, loaded up Test Testesen, and went ona vacation to the new vacation hood, and since i had already dug up the map, i went straight for the secret lot. The hermit (was a far east vacation) was hovering as usual when i entered the lot, so it clearly worked.
And yes, i saved before changing lot zoning to secretvacationlot.

Like i said, I use the stuff Monique made, although it is not exactly what I was looking for, it provides an alternative workaround. With Moniques automatic payment, you get to set the amount (Id have prefered a percentage of the total simoleans per grown adult in family) and that gets deducted every time the bills arrive. (Here I would have prefered to be able to set it once per season). So, its close, its just not over the finish line for me in the race of perfection. MAybe I should finally get off my butt and see if i cant figure out how to modify this stuff myself.

I like the stuff Monique made, but its not quite what I find myself needing. What i could really do with in my game, is a mod that allows me to send a percentage of the households funds to another sim, playable or NPC, at set intervals, like every week there is a 3% tax deductet per adult sim in the household.
Sadly, i gotta calculate those numbers by myself, and then forward the simoleons using the computer or pescados money hack. Either works, the other thing would just have been handy.

Using moniques computer I charge extra for cars but if I knew how to change the price that'd be better.
I get around that by only allowing my sims to buy stuff from OFB shops, that are owned by the local area vampire. Hes an old, evil and cranky geezer who owns a horde of robots, and charge X10 on the prices on all common objects. If they want a computer or a car, they better have the simoleons for it, or they will just have to do without.

Yea, and EAxis didn't make it easy to have a lot of vacation homes available, either -- there's not a lot of empty space in the pre-fab vacation hoods to drop more homes. I think the Asian hood is the worst.
The asian one aint so bad once you rearrange the lots a little. The Mountain one though. EWWWW!

The jewelry that are found sifting sands on a beach wont show up in the sims inventories, stop looking for it there. It gets teleported direectly to their makeup kit, so the only way to see what you found, is to check a mirror, where you can mess around with jewelry. It is not an object per se (sp), its more of an unlock option to see an item in bodyshop.
