Any idea if this will conflict with TwoJeffs always-wash-hands hack? It sounds like it might. I love the idea of sloppy sims being more slovenly, but hand-washing after you've used the toilet is a big deal for me.. *shudder* Before that hack, or in the first game, I'd sometimes have to look the other way when a visitor just had himself a virtual bowel movement, then ambled on over to have a slice of pizza. *gag* It's just a thing for me. Anyway, I'd appreciate a response. Thanks in advance.

I have your vampire skin and love it! I know of a friend that wanted one and I had directed her to you just last night not knowing you had lost your site. Since you do not mind us sharing your skins I would like to zip and email it to her and just wondered if it is only the one file I need to zip or if there is more. The file I have is the DylanTK_DefaultVampirePaste.package. Is that the only one I send or is there another part that I need to upload to her as well?
The full alien setup is three files, but for vampires it's only one.. That's the one you have listed, so send away.

Humour me: Go to MyDocuments/EAGames/TheSims2/, then delete the Groups.cache file (or move it to your desktop if your the paranoid sort, though I swear that deleting it is safe), run the game, and go check on your chimeric sim. I'd like to see if this works, considering someone else had teen transition issues. I'm sort of amazed that anyone is having issues, because my mom and I have been using it before University existed with zero issues this entire time. I don't doubt it though.. You never can tell what's going to happen on other people's computers sometimes.

Hey guys. Sorry I've been MIA so much. Between my own health, life in general, and this new addictive game, I haven't had any time or energy left for the most part. My mom has given me the go-ahead to purchase webspace, so I'll try to have that all set up very soon. Anyone who feels inclined to share my skins, please do. And that goes for any point in time, not just now. As long as I get proper credit, I don't mind who puts it where. So if anyone feels like hosting it, you may do that as well.. I'll notify you guys as soon as the forum is all set up, if my mom doesn't beat me to it.

*sputter.curse.massacre* So, I've been playing something else lately, and haven't so much as looked at anything Sims related, nor checked my email until tonight. I saw in my inbox, some PM notifications from people at this site.. saying they couldn't download my stuff. Now, I know the thread explains how to get around Angelfire's bull-shit, so I was rightly confused. I checked my site only to see that it had been DELETED BY ANGELFIRE. What's wrong with this picture? I tried to be patient, I tried to give it time to work itself out, I held my tongue when Angelfire sent me a bull-shit response to my problems.. And now they decide to delete it, just like that. What the hell? What the HELL!? Excuse me while I go sob in the corner from frustration.

"We even made out detailed directions for each browser people used so we could walk them through the process, because most people didn't even know how to do it."
That is exactly what they did to me. They explained how to clear my cache in about 5 different ways, but didn't bother to give me even one suggestion unrelated to cache clearing. I realize a lot of people are computer illiterate, but come on. Tech support should make a habit of giving people the benefit of the doubt and offer a little more than the 'standard answer'... I know this stuff is pre-typed and pasted in.. Would it hurt to paste in something at the bottom for people who know better and have already gone through the basic steps? *sigh*
At least, my mom and I are going to be setting up our very own forum-based site... It'll be much easier to put my stuff on the web that way. All the benefits, none of the crud.

Thanks you guys.. I'm really glad my replacements seem to be so popular. Now if only Angelfire would cooperate! I sent them a message detailing my problem, and you want to know what they told me? They told me to clear my cache! They didn't even give me a "-and if that's not the problem, try this."... Dummies! The first thing I did when I had issues was clear my cache. I clear it on a regular basis anyway. Some help they were, but I guess it can't be their fault, can it? Oh no, it's never the company's fault... That's just ludicrous. *obvious sarcasm*

I agree whole-heartedly. The Romance sim swoon needs to be nuked now that we have the attraction system. I'm starting to seriously play my very first romance sim, and it gets a little confusing.. Like: "Is she swooning because she thinks Julia is hot, or because Julia is a romance sim?"... Of course you can tell by the thought bubble, but I don't always catch it! Usually I hear swooning off camera, and by the time I react, pause, and go looking, the bubble is gone already. I will give many beans to the modder who does this.
And no, 'beans' was not a typo... Beans are much better than Benes you see.

*laughs*... Little Gilbert Grape, perhaps? Boy, I haven't watched "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" in forever! Well, It's easy to see that he didn't get my PT's nose! Even still, he's really darn cute with that little pug nose of his. I can't wait to see the others! Edit: Oh, I got the information I needed and convinced the Laverwinkle PT to pose for us all. Adorable, isn't he? I'll upload this picture to my website when I can. I ended up having to send a message to Angelfire detailing the problems I've been having. *shakes head* So frustrating that it refuses to update any changes. But anyway... Enjoy him in all his elven/laverwinkle glory.

Missdoh: I don't pray, but I will be thinking about you and your Doudoune. The death of a loved one is always hard, regardless of whether they have four legs or two. My mum and I become sobbing messes whenever one of our rats die. They don't have a very long lifespan, but oh how they steal your heart away if you give them a chance. Be sure to give your other kitties extra hugs, not only because it'll make you feel better, but because they'll be upset too. After a pet dies, I like to let the remaining animals smell anything that the other has touched after death, especially when the said pet had to be euthanized outside of the home. That way they'll know what happened rather than wondering where they are.
Bangelnuts: That had to be an extremely traumatic experience for both you and your dear cat. How anyone can do that to an animal, I don't know. What's more frustrating is that the assailants rarely get punished for their actions. In murder cases, what the families want most is for the person or persons responsible to be punished for their actions. Unfortunately, the justice system doesn't hold the murder of pets very highly. It's very rare for people who cruelly torture an animal to death to even receive a year in prison. Usually it's just a fine... At least that's the case in the U.S... I don't know where you're from. It sickens me that people can so easily get away with treating a feeling, thinking creature in such a barbaric manner, and that the equivalent of a pet's life in the eyes of justice is a year of prison, or a fine. *huff* I need to stop before I get ahead of myself... I'm very passionate about animal rights, so don't get me started.

Ha! Serves you right!... Just kidding. I sure hope you downloaded the improved PT (with the nice facial structure) I made, not just the skin... Otherwise, their cuteness probably won't last. I had triplets one time with TwoJeff's trips&quads hack... I nearly tore my hair out with three sim toddlers running around! Are you keeping them, or was it merely a test? Note: That wasn't meant to be spam for my mod, I just have a strong aversion to the Maxis P.T... *shudder* With the huge eyes and sunken cheeks, and no nose.. The horrah! Also: I'd love to see them as toddlers if possible.

What about deleting Groups.cache from the MyDocuments/EAGames/Sims2 folder? I could be way off base, but from the reading I did last night, it can be really helpful to delete it.. especially after making major changes to the game. It could be that her/his game was on the brink, and the patch knocked it over the edge. The way I see it, if it can't hurt, why not? MaxoidTom himself said it was perfectly safe to do so.

Yeesh.. No kidding... Isn't their a cache folder somewhere for the game? I don't know what kind of stuff it does or doesn't keep, but it can't hurt to empty it. Update: I did a little research... In your My Documents/EA Games/Sims 2 folder you should see a file called Groups.cache... I've read that deleting said folder can fix numerous issues, including ones where things are not updating properly. It's worth a shot. *points and laughs at everyone who has over a gig in downloads* I couldn't stand to have such a mess of downloads. I only download things that are easy to delete, and I only keep things I use constantly. My pickiness has earned me a neat 230MB. I do frequent cleanings to be sure things come no where near out of control. It's not exactly easy when there's so much amazing stuff out there, but I'd rather have my game run more smoothly. My game takes well under a minute to load. My biggest word of advice is to stay away from bodyshop meshes, as there is no way to delete them from within the game, and that makes things tricksy. I also look for well organized objects that are easy and safe to delete, mesh and all, from within the game. WellDressedSim is a prime example of that.

Wow. To be honest, I'm kinda relieved it's not my fault. That is a really peculiar issue... Maybe you should try to take it up with Jeff or Pescado? I'm not nearly awesome enough to help you with that kind of thing. Have you tried moveobjects on and then deleting them? That will completely reset them, so it may bring them up to date. That's the most I can suggest... Best of luck to you. By the way, I like your sims..

Gosh, I wish I knew what to tell you... Did you actually shut down the game before you took out the files? I'm at a loss, really... Everything worked completely fine when I took it out and started up the game. Sorry you are having issues... There's obviously some unknown factor here, and I'm running out of ideas as to what it might be.

Rainbow: Maybe I'm just biased, but I like the 'after' version better! That make-up looks really lovely with the laverwinkle skin... With the green not so much! It was really intended to go with the laverwinkle skin since I took the skintone out long enough to take the picture, then put it back in. But I always had trouble picking makeup and clothes that didn't clash so much with the green skin. What was Maxis thinking, anyway? They were thinking: "Let's make the aliens as cliche and hideous as we possibly can! That'll be a riot, for sure!" There's a riot alright, but not one in which people are laughing.

Aw, I love seeing before & after pictures with my default replacements! Orion looks fantastic. I love those custom eyes on him, they look really surreal/whimsical with the laverwinkle skin. Rainbow: Maybe I'm just biased, but I like the 'after' version better! That make-up looks really lovely with the laverwinkle skin... With the green not so much! I think it's harder to find clothes that the green aliens look good in, but maybe that's just me... I think the laverwinkle tends to be more forgiving. You guys might like to know this. The natural hair color of my PT is black, I think the original PT had blonde... Of the natural hair colors, I thought black looked best you see. They also look great in plenty of unnatural hair colors. Magenta for example.

I'm loving the skintone. But is there a way to get the regular black eyes back? I went and took the defaultalieneyes file out of the downloads folder. But when I went back into the lot she and the other aliens in the family still had the violent swirly eyes.
Say what!? If it's truly out, it's absolutely impossible for them to have it anymore, since the file does not 'exist'... Where did you move it to? Considering the nature of it, the game might be reading it even though it's not in the downloads folder (I don't know, just a guess)... Did you just look at their toolbar profile pics? Because those will remain the same until you change their appearance, swirly eyes and all. The sims themselves should be changed right away. I'll investigate on my own right away. Update: Ok, I just moved the alien eye replacement to my desktop and loaded up the game... Chloe and Lola have the original black alien eyes. Hate to say this, but you're missing something in your purge process. If it's not out of your Sims2 folder completely, try that.. That's the only thing I can think of... Well, that and simple human error... it happens to the best of us. Make sure you don't have a duplicate somehow lingering around in your downloads folder, or in any other folder within the Sims2 folder. I really don't think the Sims 2 can load something like that if it's not either in SavedSims or Downloads, but I guess you never know! Please let me know how things work out. By the way, your alien chick is hot.

Motoki, thank you so much for this! I will test it out tomorrow... My sims wear many different styles depending on their personality, age, and aspiration. I like variety... Except, I hate the "gangsta" look. Shirts aren't supposed to be nearly down to your knees, and pants aren't supposed to be hanging off your backside. Also, I don't like tramp make-up or clothing. Leopard print is just yucky no matter which way you look at it. Like that leopard print dress with knee-high boots? Atrocious! As for myself personally, I wear pretty casual but nice looking stuff. No hawaii-print shirts for me, never. I'm bored, so I'm going to give you guys a little tour. Plus, it's always fun to see other people's sims, right? Maybe some of you will join in with your own examples. *hint hint* I constantly wonder what other people's sims look like. Top Left = Meiko, Pleasure sim, Libra, Artist Top Right = Cerise, Family sim, Aquarius, Culinary Bottom Left = Michael, Family sim, Aquarius, Stay-at-Home Dad Bottom Right = Wyatt, Knowledge sim, Capricorn, Paranormal Useless note: Michael and Wyatt are married.Wyatt is a vampire, but Michael is living... Interesting scenario to say the least... It's also plainly clear that I don't have an aversion towards Maxis' clothes. Edit: Oh! And the girl in my avatar right now? That's their only child, also shown as a baby with Michael...

Oh thank you! I was trying to click on your link, and it said angelfire doesn't allow direct linking, blah blah. I copied and pasted like you said and it works. No corrupted file message. I can't wait to try it out in the game. Edit: Is he still around? I thought he would have updated the site by now...but I'm happy I got the file. "I have no clue why Angelfire hasn't updated that link yet.. I checked and rechecked my design to make sure I hadn't forgotten to change the link. Not so, it's undoubtedly their mistake." <~ Tis what I said in the thread I started.
