And you wonder why people think you're a girl!

You're just jealous of my fabulous versatility.

Well, I tried it out some. This is fantastic. Now my British-Vamp-Guy can fulfill that bite want with his living husband without the worry of vampirism! Plus, it adds days to the living boy and a relationship boost (Well, they're always at 100/100 anyway, but that's not the point)... Awesomeness. One less thing to worry about with my Knowledge-Vampire/Family-Living couple, whom I never planned to get together when I made them, mind you... They made the decision for me (Three bolts at first meeting!).... At least it makes for interesting family dynamics.

Gloam, just curious/nosy, but how old are you?

Old enough to have sex, but not old enough to drink.  Wink

I'm 20.
105  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Vampire hack of death on: 2005 October 30, 20:18:30
This sounds really hot... I'm always so gun-shy with hacks that don't come from Pescado, TwoJeffs, or Inge. Took me forever to wholly trust TwoJeffs and Pescado. I already knew Inge's work quite well from the Sims1 community. This is far too tempting though.. That's what back-ups are for, right?
106  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Handy little bit of Headmaster trivia I learned today. on: 2005 October 30, 20:04:13
I have to agree with Pescado.. I don't get why people have so much trouble with the headmaster visit! It's easy. The only time I've failed is due to the no food points glitch (and I can usually pull through even then), oh and once before I realized they'll get stuck in the hottub if you have one (I hadn't saved in a while so I didn't want to reload, stupid me. But I was new to the game, ok?). As a test, I had Brandi Broke call the headmaster for Beau the day after he turned into a kid... I think she was on her second day of pregnancy, but I don't precisely remember the timing when you start that household for the first time. Anyway, I had her shmooze with him on the lawn a tiny bit, go serve mac & cheese, then sent her off to bed because she was about to pass out. Beau took care of the rest and got right in. I didn't change anything in their house. I didn't even buy Beau a bed, he slept with his mom (that sounds so wrong). I didn't bother to clean, I think there was homework on the lawn, the works. Now surely, if it can be done under those circumstances, it's insanely easy.

Just enter http://www.angelfire.com/ego2/virtualdaydream/DylanTK_DefaultAlienLaverwinkle.rar into your website-broswer-window-thing (what the heck is it really called?)

Address bar. Wink

Thanks for making the effort to get these up. I'm fond of my green aliens, but that lavender is so pretty I don't think I can resist. It looks like the features of your default replacement Pollination Tech are better than the one I currently have, too.

Address Bar! *smacks forehead* I couldn't remember that for the life of me, so thanks. Thanks for the compliments too of course.  Cheesy

I have no clue why Angelfire hasn't updated that link yet.. I checked and rechecked my design to make sure I hadn't forgotten to change the link. Not so, it's undoubtedly their mistake.
108  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sorry for the delay! on: 2005 October 29, 20:49:06
I'm looking forward to the fix as well. I keep getting a 404 error. Thank you for the ones that work though, they are awesome. Youreally did a wonderful job! Smiley

Just enter http://www.angelfire.com/ego2/virtualdaydream/DylanTK_DefaultAlienLaverwinkle.rar into your website-broswer-window-thing (what the heck is it really called?) instead of clicking on the link. Angelfire doesn't allow direct linking, but if you put it in manually, you'll get right to it.
109  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sorry for the delay! on: 2005 October 29, 20:35:50
I managed to upload the Laverwinkle Alien Skintone as a .rar... Now we just need to wait for angelfire to finish the job (it doesn't automatically update when you publish something new it seems). Keep a look out for that .rar file link.. Hopefully it won't take too long to show up.

Has anyone been able to get the alien Laverwinkle skin yet I keep getting the corrupted zip file that was uploaded first.I wonder how long it takes for the files to be replaced.

I got it!! Just needed to change zip for rar in the shortcut: http://www.angelfire.com/ego2/virtualdaydream/DylanTK_DefaultAlienLaverwinkle.rar

Bravo! I have no clue why the link hasn't updated yet.. Damn Angelfire. Apparently it's uploaded, just not updated.  Roll Eyes

I have no mercy, nor any love for Romance sims.  Angry

Before the game was actually released, I was expecting the Romance aspiration to be about ROMANCE, not insatiable lust...  Undecided

I'm a hopeless romantic (though my aspiration is Knowledge), so I was really hoping for sims that were true romantics.. Taking great pleasure in loving and pampering their significant other. But nooooo. They had to make the so-called Romance sims into slut-monsters. Maybe they call them Romance sims because Nymphomaniac was too risque.

My mom just brought it to my attention that Gali called me 'daughter', not 'son'... And I see she beat me to the correction... I was so busy scratching my head over the black hair aversion that I didn't even notice! No offense taken.. GloamingMerle is kinda... ahem.  Tongue
111  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sorry for the delay! on: 2005 October 29, 07:41:59
Oh wow, Andygal.. You tried the Save From Death thing with your Legacy family? I wouldn't have the guts to do that, considering the no reload rule. That takes some serious beans. I think I've killed a nanny or two, but then who hasn't (other than Gali, that is)? Nannies can make even the most docile of humans murderous.
112  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sorry for the delay! on: 2005 October 29, 07:30:11
Brynne, you SADIST! You should be ashamed of yourself, torturing poor little virtual people like that!   Cheesy

I've killed some sims, but I had to do it quickly so they didn't have a chance to cry... like they do when you trap them in a fenced enclosure or something. I rarely kill sims though, honestly. Generally it's just for the 'Save From Death' points.. It's not cruel when they want it, right? Really, the only time I can't deal with their crying is when I'm a direct cause (like forcing sims to break-up). If they wet themselves, well... It was their own fault, now wasn't it? I always have copius amounts of bathrooms after all. Roaches? Get over it you Nancy!... You get the idea.

EDIT: Gosh, Gali.. She brags about me so much I thought everyone knew.  Grin
By the way, why in the world don't you like black hair!? I can understand the paranormal aversion, but black hair? (I'm just teasing you, so you know.) Nearly every last sim of mine has either brown or black hair.
113  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sorry for the delay! on: 2005 October 29, 07:05:52
Oh, Gali. Coming from you that means a lot!  Wink

Sometimes when my mom (Reggikko) and I discuss questionable plans for our sims (in the name of drama and intrigue), we like to joke and say things like: "Gali would die if she knew half of the things we do to our sims." Sad part is, we treat our sims really well in comparison to many people. Their lives are weird, yes, but not cruel. I can't remember the last time a sim of mine went into aspiration failure, for example. I can't stand to see them cry either! Oh my gosh... One time, I tried to break up two sims of mine... I ended up exiting the lot without saving so they could stay together, because I couldn't take the sobbing.  Embarrassed

Okay people, go download the VampirePaste (as I so lovingly call it)... I'll warn you guys ahead of time, the AlienLaverwinkle zip file is corrupt.. I'm working on it!
116  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My new Legacy on: 2005 October 08, 18:31:47
Ha. I just looked.. there's a 128KB cut-off point in the file attachment option.. Sorry guys.. I would have went for it too.. If I had gotten my lips ripped for it, at least it would have been for the greater good.  Wink

My parents are leaving in a while, so I'll try to see if I can (use my mom's computer to) get a website started and upload my default replacements.
117  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My new Legacy on: 2005 October 07, 22:23:31
Well there's always the Exchange. *shudder*

If you package up a sim with a custom skintone in the bodyshop the skintone should be included in the sims2pack file. Not sure about the vamps though since you normally can't create them in the bodyshop. I haven't tried extracting an in-game vamp sim via sim surgery yet and seeing how they would show up in the bodyshop.

I suppose you could also just upload it as an attachment here, but I'm sure since it's a skintone the file is rather large.

No no no no! No exchange! You can't make me do it!... *composes self* ahem...

It's about 11,200 KB... It's not actually a skintone, it's a full body tattoo. Compare this to my alien default skintone replacement, which is about 90,800 KB.

I didn't think we were allowed to upload that kind of thing here? I mean... There are no specific rules against it, but it seems a little... presumptuous.
118  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My new Legacy on: 2005 October 07, 18:55:15
Dylan here... to answer some questions.

How do I do it?: Pretty simple. I find the default game files using SimPE, extract them, create a brand new package file to throw the extracted stuff into, extract the images, edit them, import them, save.. It's pretty easy. If you don't change the filenames of the extracted files, it'll just effectively write over the defaults, while still being easy to get rid of.

Sharing: I've been going back and forth with this idea for a while, and finally decided that I would like to put my creations on the web. Kind of a scary notion if you're on the shy side like I am. I just don't know where I'll be putting them yet. I connect to the internet through my mom's computer, and the sucky firewall my Dad insists on (I use something else for my computer) won't allow me to publish a website from this computer. It's a no-prompt kind of firewall, taking matters into it's own hands without asking you what you want.  Roll Eyes  My firewall asks me what I want. Enough griping though.. I'll try to figure something out soon. I'm sure you'll hear my mom bursting with pride when I do.  Wink

Notes: My replacement allows them to keep their original eyecolor, or use contacts (apparently) if you so please. I also fixed the alpha channel issue with teen female vamps.
119  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help with Motherloving Birthday on: 2005 August 11, 13:40:45
I play with testingcheatsenabled true. Since I loathe the birthday cake, I direct someone to put the baby on the floor, then I shift-click on the baby and make them selectable (You have to choose 'make selectable' twice for it to work.). With the baby selected, choose grow-up and keep them selected while you wait for a birthday helper to toss them into toddlerhood. This method has never failed for me, whereas the autonomous 'help with birthday' and stupid cake have screwed up liberally in the past.

Worked like a charm for me too. I'm so relieved. I really didn't want to bulldoze Bob & Betty's house!  Cheesy

Thanks a bunch, guys. I never would have guessed that would be the issue. Missing car portals, huh. Well, I found portal replacers and instructions on using them to fix this problem. Here's a link to the thread if anyone is interested:

I'll let you know if it works.
122  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Could you take a look at this error log? on: 2005 August 06, 05:01:46
I had this problem before, right around the time that the Varioussimmers fiasco started, so I'm guessing Pescado never saw it (It was in Jeff's area). Anyway, I got tired of waiting and just ditched the neighborhood. Now it's popping up again in another neighborhood..

Quick rundown of the scenario: Sim calls NPC (Not all lots are affected at once), when NPC is due to arrive I get bombarded by error messages.. Reset will not work, delete fixes the error-go-round unless it's the type of NPC that persistently re-spawns like the Nanny or.... Social Worker (that sucked, let me tell you.).. In the end, they never show up.

What I've tried: Remove otherworldly loiterers, AWOL Headmaster (figured it couldn't hurt), there was no option to remove stuck bills (which I've heard can fix other things).. Force error on random thing to reset. Inge's Teleporter Shrub to clear visitors... Nothing worked.

The only things that set these two neighborhoods apart from others in my game is that both had Townies and/or NPCs deleted... In the first neighborhood I used 'deleteallcharacters' for some fresh faces.. In this newly afflicted one, I deleted the townies only, as I assumed the error (in that other neighborhood) had been caused by the game trying to re-spawn NPCs specifically. I'm also using the no spawn townies in this new neighborhood.
123  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stay away from that expresso machine! on: 2005 July 28, 16:35:01
Well, that may be so. If that's the case, that's fine by me, really.. It's nice to feel surprised by them for doing something that seems insightful.. Even if it's only coincedence, and I'm really just reading into their actions a bit too much. I like to amuse myself with a little magical thinking here and there in general, so applying that to the sims is no stretch for me. I will never envy people who see sims as nothing more than programming. Not saying that you feel that way, of course.. How would I know that for certain? But..... Considering you made a sim of yourself, I'd bet that you think of your sims as a tad bit more than coding.  Tongue

Kitten in glass... Hmmm... Reminds me of BonsaiKitten.com. I know that site is old news, but it still makes me snicker when I think about it..
125  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stay away from that expresso machine! on: 2005 July 28, 15:40:50
I'm entering a little late in this discussion, aren't I? Oh, well.... You'd probably severely hate the challenge I came up with, Pescado. I can certainly imagine you cringing every single simday, hand twitching with the urge to set the foolish little sims right. Generally I just take in a deep breath, and find the hilarity in it. For the things I cannot get over, I remedy with your hacks. For all it's outlandish advertisement issues, and resulting unrealistic behaviour, I'm pleased to say that every once in a great while my sims still do surprise me. Or other people's sims for that matter... When my mom first began playing, she became very hooked on the Goth's (among certain others). She moved Cassandra into her own place. Mortimer came over, walked in, and Cassandra made a motion as if to say "Well, here it is.". He proceeded to come over the next two nights to check in on her. The reason it surprises me is because I had never seen nor heard of such a thing before. I suppose those odd instances are examples of how the game is ideally supposed to play out?
