16376  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fortune Sim Wanting to Quit Work? on: 2005 July 19, 05:47:55
The "Quit Job" want is simply blindly generated whenever you sell a good novel or painting. It's mostly designed to just annoy you, because if you actually *DO* it, they'll just nag you for another job in all-wantslot-clog.
16377  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: can't chat on phone bug on: 2005 July 19, 05:44:39
Hmm. No, can't say I've ever seen anything quite like that. Who are you calling to chat with? If it's not the Headmaster, I've never seen this happen.
16378  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Other Games? on: 2005 July 19, 05:43:29
You don't get your page and text back if you simply mash the back button on your browser?
16379  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Secret chat room? on: 2005 July 19, 05:14:18
Are you talking about on MTS2? #grah was shutdown on MTS2 ages ago. It's on the ghost.ircrebels.com server, not the MTS2 server.
16380  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Greek Houses - Gah! on: 2005 July 19, 05:13:33
There aren't any to begin with, but you can make one, just as with any custom University, which would also have no Greek houses.
16381  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Pool Hack - Anti-Pool Obsession And More! on: 2005 July 19, 05:12:45
This isn't a nude-related hack at all. It doesn't allow your sims to become naked, it doesn't affect anything about your sims being naked. It merely suppresses the "change to swimsuit" if your sim is already naked, thus allowing them to swim while naked. The task of MAKING your sims naked for this is left as an exercise for the reader. If you have no particular means of making them naked, this case will never come up.
16382  Awesomeware / The Armory / Pool Hack - Anti-Pool Obsession And More! on: 2005 July 19, 04:59:49
Pertains to the swimming pool, not the pool table.

Pool Hack (v1b) for TS2 v1.0p2 & TS2U v1.0
Made by: Flying Fish Systems (J. M. Pescado)

Special Thanks To:
Quaxi, for writing SimPE
Fairlight the Bitch

Congratulations to: Draklixa!

INSTRUCTIONS:
Place in your MYDOCU~1\EAGAME~1\THESIM~1\DOWNLO~1 directory.

FEATURES:
Visitors should no longer insist on jumping into your pool at the first
unattended moment: They will only use the pool if appropriate dressed for it,
as opposed to magically pulling their swimsuits from their butts the moment
you leave them unattended for 3 seconds and then proceeding to wander the house
soggily after you shoo them out. Sims no longer change back immediately after
chickening out from diving. Sims who are being WATCHED while diving will not be
able to wimp out anymore. People would make fun of you for that. And then push
you in anyway. Last but not least, the option to swim naked has been made
available, so if your sim is already naked, he won't change before diving.
Making your sims get naked for the task is left as an exercise for the reader.

COMPATIBILITY:
Compatible with all FFS Hacks. Tested for TS2U v1.0.

SIDE EFFECTS:
May cause computer damage, incontinence, explosion of user's head, coma, death,
and/or halitosis.
16383  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what is an overpopulated neighborhood anyway? on: 2005 July 19, 03:04:22
Selling tombstones is harmless, if irreversible, as selling the tombstone destroys the sim's character data and makes him irreversibly gone forever, visible only as a fambly tree entry or memory.
16384  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what is an overpopulated neighborhood anyway? on: 2005 July 18, 19:20:52
All characters, including townies, NPCs, and everything else, are included in this count. 550 is starting to get kind of large, but not unhealthy. Yet.
16385  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Greetings from inside my 'puter!! I live in my Sims houses!! Make fun of me!!! on: 2005 July 18, 19:18:00
This is DEFINITELY a not-awesome hack. The fact that the error is from a "SIMPE__A2O_CARPOOLMINIVAN_DRIVER_LOOPBREATHE" clearly indicates that it has been tampered with grossly (and badly, with a complete lack of subtlety). Find and remove this hack. It is not an awesome hack, and so there is nothing more I can do here.
16386  Awesomeware / The Scrapyard / Re: No NPC Spam - Experimental Barista Fix on: 2005 July 18, 19:14:12
That's unrelated to this: The game naturally attempts to maintain a pool of 3 NPCs of any given type. Baristas were an exception, as the game would never previously attempt to reuse a Barista, instead always generating more and more and more Baristas.
16387  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Greetings from inside my 'puter!! I live in my Sims houses!! Make fun of me!!! on: 2005 July 18, 15:34:02
Just post it as an attachment and I'll take a look.
16388  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Uncomfortable browse through the forum. on: 2005 July 18, 15:23:37
I think Gali is much too silly to be the 90 or so needed to be able to play with the earliest teletypes to meet the requirements outlined. Then again, at that age, it could be senility. I'm already starting to feel that. But then, at 90, Gali would be older than the country she lives in, since there wasn't an Israel at all then. More likely Gali has misunderestimated me.
16389  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Multiple Pollination Technicians Hack on: 2005 July 18, 15:18:02
Well, an artifact of using coinflips is that there's a cascade effect in pollination technicians:

For instance, if you flip a coin to decide each time, the first pollination technician has a 50% chance of being chosen, the next one has a 50% chance for a 25% chance that this one is chosen, the third one has another 50% chance, which comes down to 12.5%, and then the fourth one (assuming 4) is the fallback option, so gets the remaining difference, 12.5%.

This, of course, means there's a clear hierarchy of pollination technicians here.
16390  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Multiple Pollination Technicians Hack on: 2005 July 18, 15:07:51
Err, well, that depends. If you're simply iteratively going down the list and want to make sure you select one in a single pass? No, not really. Otherwise, you could run a two-pass scheme: One pass to count the number of PTs you have, then do a Random call. Alternatively, you could get really fancy, and try to delve into the messy and ugly realm of Array Operations, so you assemble them into an Array for a single pass, and then randomly select by index....tricky stuff.
16391  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Greetings from inside my 'puter!! I live in my Sims houses!! Make fun of me!!! on: 2005 July 18, 15:00:09
Well, certain things are particularly prone to being affected by the non-awesome hacks of other less than awesome people. In particular, anything which might involve woohoo is a leading offender. If your sims are having problems with that, I'm inclined to blame certain hacks for it. The Social Worker's Car happens to be a repository of certain Social Worker codes, and it's possible that somebody tampered with it in an attempt to do something to adoption. Which is quite likely, or else you probably wouldn't be adopting babies from Ugly Babies With Horrible Names, Inc.
16392  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Greetings from inside my 'puter!! I live in my Sims houses!! Make fun of me!!! on: 2005 July 18, 14:50:36
That doesn't fix this particular social worker problem. I'd need an error log to find out what, if anything, is going on. Odds are this is some other hack that isn't from FFS, though.
16393  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what is an overpopulated neighborhood anyway? on: 2005 July 18, 14:49:57
Yes, and no, you should not go deleting files like that.
16394  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Myths, Urban Legends, And Apocrypha Of TS2 Explored And Exploded on: 2005 July 18, 14:46:20
Heh, you're probably just not very good at at. Anything with 6 or fewer sides is my bitch.
16395  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Greek Houses - Gah! on: 2005 July 18, 14:15:38
I've never seen the taxi entirely fail to appear like that. That's unusual, and I don't think it's associated with Greek houses in general, since all of my sims have graduated from two Greek houses without any such incident. Perhaps it's one specific corrupted house?
16396  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Greetings from inside my 'puter!! I live in my Sims houses!! Make fun of me!!! on: 2005 July 18, 14:10:46
Fist I must tell you, I "think" I have found a way to lock in the smart milk faster learning for the life time of the Sims;  I have a Gold or Platimum(sp?) Sims feed the toddler smart milk just before the age transition is suppose to start, say around 5:15 or 5:30, and when they change into a child the faster learning is set unless the thinking cap or a move from home is used. How did I do??  Am I 100% w-r-o-n-g???
It's not a "reliable" process. In testing, I've found that it will often (but not always) happen if you simply feed the toddler one smart milk in his entire life. Sometimes it takes more than one to stick. Sometimes it never sticks. You can get more exact empirical figures yourself on the latest version of the Automated Baby Controller, which includes an IQ Tester in the options. If you get a value of 300 or more, it means smart milk is in effect. If it still says that when smart milk hasn't been in effect for awhile, you are stuck. At that point, feeding MORE smart milk, like with bubble butt and other stuckness situations, can actually undo the effect.

Here is my real problem that I have not read about from others!!  I am afaid I used the dreaded boolProp testingCheats only once to change some of the bars on one family only and immediately dis-abled it and now my Sims can NOT adopt!!  None of them!!  Not in any of the neighborhoods!!  They call and are approved and told that they would have a visit the next day at 10 and then NO one shows up and option drops from the phone forever as long as the same family lives there. I had an object error pop up during the closing of the testingCheat that said  "Car - Social Worker - 0,8" #142,  then something about  error: Stack overflow.   How can I fix this??
Err...beats me. I think you have some hack-that-isn't-more-awesome-than-you.

Also the headmaster fails to show up at random homes, no mater how many times you call him, but does show up at others!?!?!
AWOL headmasters is fixed by the Lot Debugger. Picking the "Fix AWOL Headmaster" option detonates the corrupted scenario controller, forcing the game to regenerate a new one which should not be stuck.
16397  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Uncomfortable browse through the forum. on: 2005 July 18, 14:06:45
I am "she" (female), and when all of you needed to change diapers, including JM, I already played computer games (guess my age, lol).
Are you kidding? I completely predate computers that aren't the size of buildings, and am roughly contemporary with the invention of public television. Computers at that time were bigger than houses, and bugs hadn't even been invented yet. The invention of bugs didn't occur until 1945, by which time I was much too old for diapers. When I was young, games hadn't even been invented yet, and so for entertainment, we'd chase each other around and hit each other with sticks. This was back when you could actually be outdoors.
16398  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Uncomfortable browse through the forum. on: 2005 July 18, 13:48:00
And Hook, you haven't showed up for your kicking in awhile.

Experimental, untested fix for "mile wide mass of Zergs" barista spam.

Congratulations to: Draklixa!

INSTRUCTIONS:
Place in your MYDOCU~1\EAGAME~1\THESIM~1\DOWNLO~1 directory.

FEATURES:
This should cut down the "mile wide mass of Zergs" effect for Barista-spawning
in Uni. It also eliminates a lot of the "safety" checking for NPC-typing, so if
you try to create an NPC by simply setting his NPC type and dumping him into
the NPC pool, this hack will disable that check and you'll get your new,
non-functional NPC showing up to not work. Fortunately, this should never
actually happen unless you are actively trying to do something stupid and not
recommended. So don't.

COMPATIBILITY:
Compatible with all FFS Hacks. Untested alpha for TS2U v1.0.

SIDE EFFECTS:
May cause computer damage, incontinence, explosion of user's head, coma, death,
and/or halitosis.

Ugh. Hair dying. How revolting.

Also, what's a "Posie Flump", anyway? I notice you wandered by the chat while I was off excavating earlier yesterday.
