It's a hardcoded engine problem. All the animations are actually there and being invoked by the BHAV codes, so that's functioning correctly, but the engine is not rendering them properly. Nothing can be done about this from here. You'll have to buy the patch from Maxis yourself if you want this one fixed.

Yes, but then you limp along with only 4 want slots and 1 lock, which simply isn't adequate with the amount of spam Maxis tends to stuff down your throat. And this will only get worse with each expansion pack as they give you an ever more annoying series of stupid stuff to want.

I don't think that hard about aspiration: I just go and pick "Knowledge" pretty much every time. Maybe Popularity.
I mean, think about it: You have 5 possible choices: Knowledge, Popularity, Fortune, Romance, and Family.
Now we can start eliminating them, based on the fact that this is not our final answer, and we're going to get to change it at Uni.
Fortune: Let's see. You're an unemployed kid with no real earning potential. You're not going to *HAVE* any real earning potential until you graduate. Scratch that. Romance: Teens don't get any. Sorry. Family: Ain't gonna happen until post-graduation. No biscuit.
So what does that leave you? Knowledge, if you want to try to get the early platinum from Maximize All Skills, and Popularity, because that's the only aspiration that actually functions in Uni. Not a lot of choices here.

I don't like Power Idle, it makes Sims boring. If they'd pick up books in PI at least they'd be doing something useful (in combination with Inge's learning skills mod).
Power Idle isn't about doing something useful. Power Idle is about keeping green and out of your hair while waiting for orders. If you want them to do something USEFUL, tell them to Skillinate.

Using Authorized Personnel Only's "Deny Autonomous" option is also rather handy if you care that much.
As for free will on or off, while I don't like having to babysit, it sure as hell beats constantly going, "NO! NO! NO!". Then we have Macrotastic Power Idle, which gives you better effectiveness than Free Will *AND* less annoying stupidity.

See, you really need to get used to the entire blood and entrails thing. Once you're used to the idea, it's actually quite viscerally satisfying and enjoyable. Try it sometime: bathe in their blood and wade in their entrails!

Look, man, it's getting really old to track down every single form of stupid sim behavior. You really just need to exert some more control. If it's not a problem which causes visitors to do stupid stuff, it's not worth trying to resolve anymore. The autonomy system is simply irreversibly flawed and broken. Also, why are you sims running out of fuel that early anyway?

Pah. You do know that RPGs are a derivative of wargames, which are not at all pacifistic or peaceful, right? I think you're just happier when people die as abstract icons on a tactical map, rather than screaming, bleeding heaps of mangled meat in front of you. Like the saying goes, "Kill one, and it is a tragedy. Kill millions, and it is a statistic."

The Biotech station is automatically used by the Skillinator if you have an Instructor, providing you meet all the prerequisites for safe usage. This generally requires that your sim have platinum mood and be very clean. If you do not meet the prerequisites for usage, it will not be attempted since it may kill your sim. It will only be attempted solo if all other possible skill options are exhausted, as the Biotech station is the worst solo logic skilling item in the game.

Yes, they still count. Unfortunately, moving things to the bin and deleting them has zero useful effect. It is purposeless to delete sims, since they will simply be hidden from view, not actually truly wiped. And if your Pleasantview had *1400* sims, you are well into the danger zone and probably have irreparable damage to your neighborhood files.

No, the character file is still there, albeit in a reduced format. As for "Sophie", that's mostly just due to name repetition. Often the same name will repeat itself multiple times in your neighborhood. I have 5 or 6 Marylena Hamiltons. I'm going to have to start feeding them to the cow plant.

The painting has to sell for more than $500 to be a masterpiece painting. Note that the want only stipulates selling it, there isn't really a creator attribution, unlike with novels, which gets completely messed up without No Plagiarism, since the novel actually identifies the author.

Err, nothing. I do notice you're using the rentech.com CGI IRC, though. I think it's not so much a question of what I did to offend you as it is of what I did to offend Rentech.

Yeah, especially when you consider that using the pool is basically entirely useless for visitors: They won't really gain skills off it ANYWAY, not that the pool was ever good for this, and as there is no way to gain any relationship out of the pool, it undermines the point of them visiting at all.
