76  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Managers and the salon chair on: 2006 March 04, 23:39:03
I kept giving Florence Delarose a makeover with the chair but she didn't change at all!  No funny makeup, no new hair style, definitely no CAS screen showing up.
I'm having almost the same problem with my restaurant, too.  The customers would be convinced to dine in and yet not all of them sit down and eat.  Most of them got the star and walked out!   Huh
Are you all playing the service chair with or without hacks?
77  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OFB - What works, what doesn't on: 2006 March 02, 00:28:32
This is somewhat related to the topic but not in reference to hacks:  I noticed that my custom content (objects only) cannot be placed on the new shelves designed for stores.  They can only sit on the floor or on regular counters or other surfaces pre-OfB.  Which sucks because I have a ton of custom objects that would look nice in a store but I have to use regular counters.   Roll Eyes
Maybe some genius out there can figure out how to convert our pre-OfB objects so they'll sit on the darn shelves?
78  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OFB - What works, what doesn't on: 2006 March 02, 00:01:14
I thought I'd start this thread... I'm sure there's much more to follow. I just installed OFB, have barely started playing...

- Crammyboy's nudist hack does not work (he does state that it is Nightlife Only).
- So far the one lot I've loaded had some flashing blue trees which I removed.
- More to follow! Add yours!

Edited to add: So far, game runs very smoothly, and is definitely fun! I've opened up a home business with a widow selling her late husband's masterpieces. The first day she sold 3 paintings.

I've got Crammyboy's nudist hack and I can see their thingamajigs.  How exactly is it not working?

Did this get changed after the recent NL patch?  There was something about the electro sphere in the patch???

I don't think I have this problem in my game.  Should I install it anyway?

Sorry for the offtopic-ness but BRYNNE -- where did you get those awesome leather chairs in that picture?  They look really nice... *drools*

Here, under dining room:

Thanks, Brynne!  Those chairs are now in my sims' houses.
83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Agesimscheat questions on: 2005 December 02, 15:13:06
Going back to the agesimscheat...  I had two children that I aged into teens.  Then I realized they only had so many days left before becoming a YA and I didn't like that so I aged them back to children.  Funny thing was, the next time I entered their lot, the two kids had no faces!  Just blue ovals on their heads like what happens to objects that lost the recolor file.  Their faces came back when I ordered them to change appearance in the mirror.  But that was weird!

85  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2005 November 30, 14:44:31
To access a debug mode option, the test cheat must be enabled and you must shift-click the object. The sim in question must be in a clearly defined state of smart or stupid, and not currently be performing an action.

Oh, the "shift click"!!!  Duh!  Thankies, old grouch!
86  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2005 November 30, 04:24:58
When would the option Make Me Smart/Stupid be available?  I've tried to look for it on different sims with different ages but have not been able to see this in the menu.  I also tried debug mode on and off, unless I'm wrong about "debug mode" being the boolprop testingcheatsenabled.   Huh

Me, too!  Bring back the coal!  Bring back the coal!  Now I'm sorry I started this thread.  Although, of course, seeing all the nutritional posts is fun.

I saw in one of the movies that a Santa came down the chimney.  Maybe we'll get a Santa npc.   Huh  That's kinda cool.  Of course, it can get old pretty quick.

92  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I got the dreaded squigly lines in thought bubbles on: 2005 November 01, 03:43:02
I get the squiggly lines during the bad mouthing although not all the time.  It seems like the same sims who have had this will always get it during bad mouthing while the sims that have never had the squiggly lines will only show the icon of the sim being bad mouthed and nothing else, that is, no squiggly lines.  I've tried it with or without nocorruptdeath.  Good thing is, I don't get the squiggly lines with gossiping anymore.  I've also checked my objects.package and it's set to read only so it's still the same file since I installed the patch.
It's really driving me nuts because on the one hand, I want to keep checking each sim to figure out a pattern.  Yet on the other hand, if it was like the same problem from before, I'm afraid of spreading it around the neighborhood and might have everyone getting the "squigglies" sooner or later.   Undecided

I found this at VS -- http://www.variousimmers.net/vsimforum/showthread.php?t=2901

Good for you!  I for one am very glad to see you here.
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: no phones on: 2005 October 31, 01:14:22
To work around this with SimPe, just open up the Family Information of the townies.  In my game, it's Bendett and something else.  Then check the box that says Have Phone or something like that.  Hell, I even check the Have a Computer so they can chat, although I think they've always been able to chat.
95  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hacks/Mods made redundant by the new patch. Preliminary List. on: 2005 October 13, 02:51:25
"# Reduced the possibility of non player characters becoming stuck in dormie's rooms due to door locking."

Could that mean we can remove "novanishindorms" from our fixes?

"The lot view options are now saved properly after exiting and restarting the game."  - I guess I can remove the workaround command (lotskirtsizeincrease) in my userstartup cheat, too.
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: More Townies on: 2005 September 23, 14:07:54
Just make sure to replace the spaces with tabs. I had quite a few problems when setting my userStartup.cheat file because I didn't know that was necessary. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working for a long time. (Or maybe this is obvious to everyone else and I am a moron. Whatever.)
I guess I'm more of a moron since I didn't even know you can use aliases.  So when I put my alias I tab, not space, then write the command then tab to write the "brief help".  Do I hit enter then to get to the next alias?
97  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife bugs on: 2005 September 18, 04:26:01
I have a couple annoyances -- a.)  sims are cleaning up their plates after dinner downtown...while they're on a date!  I can cancel, of course, but it's pretty annoying; b.)  just as the lot distance view resets to small each time you restart the game, my audio setting also goes back to stereo upon game restart even when I've set it to 5.1.  No biggie but again, annoying.
Oh, one more thing.  Should the familyfunds cheat work in University also?  I tried using the household name and one of the sims' last name but it didn't.  It worked okay in the regular neighborhood.
98  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: mods that do and don't work on: 2005 September 18, 04:09:43
I have found that run to class works. and now after a few hours of testing no eat crap does as well

When you had noeatcrap hack, did you happen to go on a date?  I noticed that I couldn't steal a bite, throw food, or feed a bite while the couple was eating.   Huh
99  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Computer video game object error??? on: 2005 September 17, 15:46:00
I was playing Nightlife last night with no hacks except for the modded Maxis Alienware (to allow for college options) and an extra tv channel.  I had the debug cheat on.  A few times I was trying to enter a family or go in and out of a community lot, it gave me this error log.  And the lot loading music would jump but the lot would eventually load.  I then got out of the game, took out the Maxis Alienware and the tv channel with its own Broadcast.ini, went back to the game and it still did that.  Of course, when I turned off the debug cheat, lot loading was smoother.
Can someone take a look at it for me?  I'm risking my lips getting ripped or worse yet, getting a flaming bag of poo from Pescado for not knowing exactly where to post this.  Or even posting an unsolicited error log.  Sad  I'm just really curious.

100  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: When buying clothing, the clothing dummy is sunk on: 2005 August 27, 05:05:44
The sunken dummy issue is definitely a clothing mesh problem.  I've had it quite a few times.  I usually find the clothes that have the thumbnail of a Maxis default when it's supposed to be custom made.  As soon as I delete the offending mesh/clothes, my dummy is fixed again.
