26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Return of the jump bug w/ Seasons? on: 2007 March 01, 17:00:33
...and that, ladies and gentlemen (You too Pescado), is why I come here.
I get answers and I get them quick. Seasons is back in working order again thanks to the deletion of something I never use anyway.
So, thanks again.

Mind if you can be a bit more forthcoming and actually name whatever it was that caused your problems?

That way... other simmers may benefit? Just a thought. Tongue

Ste

Right behind you, Ste.  I lost my free will too after I put back most of my CC's and MATY's updated hacks.  Oh, I did manage to get an error log.  Hang on...
Any one care to guess what's wrong with my game?  Thanks!

Never mind...  I think I found the culprit.  It was Crammyboy's OutdoorBath fix.  Oh well.

27  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: More hidden music in Pets on: 2006 December 22, 03:44:26
No, only NL and Pets have hidden music. I checked all the expansions and SPs as well as the base game.

Qwiggles: you should have ended up with a {hexadecimal string}.mp3 file and an XML file. Delete the XML file, and rename the mp3 file according to its ID3 tags (right-click it and read its properties on the last tab), or according to the lsit provided by Dizzy.
It is probably best to extract the resources one-by-one.

Finally got it!  I was renaming the darn things while I was saving/extracting them and for some reason the files didn't become mp3.  Aagghhh...  I have no clue what I'm talking about!  But all's well...  I'm gonna go listen to 'em now.  Thanks again.
28  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: More hidden music in Pets on: 2006 December 21, 03:59:08
Okay, I'm joining the not-quite-so-sure-but-I-gotta-try-this group.  I think I've extracted an audio resource correctly.  So do I end up with a SimPE packed file and an XML document after extraction?  And unless I changed the name of the file, it would be named with a bunch of numbers?

Then I tried to go into the game's audio settings to check if the new song ended up in the Pop list.  But I don't think so...  The only other way I could think of looking for the song is playing all the pop songs from the stereo except that I don't know what these songs sound like.

Well, I guess if someone can confirm that I've got the right type of files in my My Doc...\Pop folder, I'll trust that I do have the new songs.
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Playable Sims as Nannies? on: 2006 November 12, 20:00:20
Christianlov's Nanny NPC can also let you assign any other sim in the neighborhood.  Go to Objects Mod at MTS2.  I think you can even turn on salary.  I don't know if the sim actually gets to keep the money, I've never used that feature.
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What downloads to delete to make loading times of game and lots more efficient? on: 2006 November 12, 03:30:52
Has anyone tried the Orphan Mesh scanner after Pets came out?  I know I dare not open my neighborhood with the current SimPe but is opening Downloads okay?
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lots resetting all the time on: 2006 November 07, 03:28:21
I did notice that every time I installed a revised version of either macrotastics or ffsdebugger (not sure which), my sims would be reset.  Since Pets, those hacks have been updated a number of times.  Could that have been it?
32  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers Wanted: Pets Custom Content Updater Program! on: 2006 November 02, 23:35:04
I tried a chair and a loveseat (as sofa) and set them for moderate.  The program said change was a success and then when I went in the game, couldn't find them.  I used SW's Object Categorizer and they weren't showing up either.  I've since replaced the files with my backups but I'm hesitant to do any more objects.

Hope we can figure it out...
33  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers Wanted: Pets Custom Content Updater Program! on: 2006 November 02, 03:14:34
I see on the Downloads page there are 2 people who mentioned problems with having numbers in the resource tree and objects not showing up in the game.  I'm definitely getting both of those symptoms.  So what did we do wrong?  How are you all getting this to work?   Huh
34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: YOU can be in your game on: 2006 October 25, 16:41:34
Thank you... again!  Yes, that option is there when clicking on the easel itself.  I like this site.  I learn something new everyday.
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: YOU can be in your game on: 2006 October 24, 02:45:24
Thank you!  It works now.  I had Faster Paint hack from MTS2.

Also I interrupted the sim in the middle of his painting so he could go pee.  When I clicked on the easel again, there was no option to continue painting, only to scrap it.  Is that what happens with custom paintings?  That's why I had faster paint hack in the first place.  **mumble, grumble**
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: YOU can be in your game on: 2006 October 24, 02:09:21
Okay, I get how to add our jpgs in the Paintings folder but how do I get my sim to paint it???  I've got one who's maxed in creativity and my options were paint, paint still life, paint [another sim].  Am I missing something?
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Puppies Cant climb Stairs to enter the house on: 2006 October 21, 14:57:33
Yes, they can sleep in the pet beds.  Mine did that all the time until I trained him not to.  I want my puppy to climb on the sim's bed but that's probably a little too much right now.  If puppies can't even climb stairs, that bed looks awfully high.
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How in the world do you delete a Secret Society lot?! on: 2006 October 16, 21:27:49
Good to know.  Thanks, guys!
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How in the world do you delete a Secret Society lot?! on: 2006 October 15, 17:38:52
Thanks!  I tried that.  The change worked.  When I went in an unoccupied residential lot to turn it into SS, it was already one.  I think when I followed Dizzy's suggestion, it set that lot as SS.  Anyway my sim was there, all the jackets were there having a good time so I called for the limo to go home.  Alas, my limo problem was still there.  Same thing happened back at her dorm when she tried to go back to SS lot.

I haven't actually deleted the old-SS-turned-residential lot from the neighborhood because it wasn't readily apparent as the Landgrabb Society.  I'm suspecting it was the lot called 10 Crumplebottom Dr or something.  Also, the new SS lot didn't disappear from the neighborhood view.  When I click on it, it still shows For Rent.

I'm going to try this again with another resident lot.  It might make a difference.

If the problem persists, I'm going to dump this uni and build a new one.  Should I family-bin my uni families or do you think they'll automatically be there when I set up the new uni neighborhood?  I forget what happens to the dormies.  Will I have a new set of dormies plus the existing ones?  Yikes, talk about doubling the ugliness.  That "Prep for delete" option from the debugger box will come in handy...

Thanks everyone for all the help.  At least now I know how to switch SS lots!
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How in the world do you delete a Secret Society lot?! on: 2006 October 15, 04:50:25
What about removing the Lot Description (LTXT) with SimPE?
It seems a shame to abolish the entire university hood because of a lot.

I tried looking in there...nothing for SS though.

Try manually changing its lot type in SimPE?

How do I go about doing that?
41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How in the world do you delete a Secret Society lot?! on: 2006 October 15, 00:20:57
Didn't work.  Nice try though!  I just looked at my dusty Uni hint book.  It says there is no way to move or replace an SS lot once it's placed.  I guess that's that.
42  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Is this portal bug, spacechip car pool problem or what? on: 2006 October 14, 20:37:10
The thing is, it's happening at the SS lot when the sim tried to go home after being kidnapped.  It's happening also at another dorm when I had another sim try to go to SS lot.  I tried another neighborhood and going to their SS lot posed no problem.  So I'm thinking it's the actual SS lot.  But how to fix it when I can't get there...?
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How in the world do you delete a Secret Society lot?! on: 2006 October 14, 20:34:22
Nope, can't get there unless there's another way without calling for the limo.

I'm trying to delete it because I think it's corrupted.  I may have to start over with a new uni.
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / How in the world do you delete a Secret Society lot?! on: 2006 October 14, 16:00:25
I tried the specialty lot bins to see if I could just replace it with another premade SS lot but they don't even show up because, duh, I already have one.  Would it be the Lot folder somewhere in my neighborhood?  I'm stumped.  I think I corrupted my SS lot with a non-awesome hack but I can't even get there to use JM's various colored boxes to try and fix it.  The limo keeps leaving the dorm lot on one side and coming back to the lot from the other side.

My university is probably hosed, ain't it?  Just when I'm trying to get ready for the unmentionable XP.
45  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Is this portal bug, spacechip car pool problem or what? on: 2006 October 14, 14:08:58
Where might I find this Ersengel's fix?  I'm having a problem with the secret society limo that keeps coming back to the lot to pick up my sim.  I'll try syberspunk's suggestions first...

Never mind, I found it.  It says on the thread though that if the car comes, the fix is more likely not going to work.  Well, that's my problem.  The car keeps coming back to the lot...  I can't get to the secret society.  Same thing happens at the secret society lot.  My sim got kidnapped then when it was time to go home, the limo keeps leaving and coming back.

Will someone please take a look at these error logs and see if there's anything that might help me figure this out.  Please???

Thanks in advance.

46  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2006 September 26, 04:54:05
New update fixes some issues with the new purging options. BTW: Did you know that after I purged all the gossipcruft from my neighborhood with this, the neighborhood package shrank 10%? That's a lot of cruft.

If I erase all manner of gossip from the neighborhood, does it mean no one will have a thought bubble when a sim attempts to gossip?  At least until something new happens worth gossiping about?

Also, I tried the Prep for Delete on a dead sim tonight.  Deleted the SDSC and character file, reopened SimPe AND...  his SWAF was still there.  Instance # was same (I checked SWAF before I deleted character file) but his name was not there.  Sim Wants and Fears for blank was what I saw.  I thought the new shiny option also deleted the SWAF?  Would it have worked that way if I prepped for delete a living sim and then killed him off?  What of the tomb after the character file deletion, btw?  Should I have sold that tomb first?
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Question about 'No Respawn Hacks' on: 2006 September 19, 01:30:44
Fantastic!  I shall wait for the new and shiny Binging & Purging manual and/or tool.
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Question about 'No Respawn Hacks' on: 2006 September 18, 22:11:22
Can we "Prep for delete" ghosts???  If I can select ghosts in debug mode (not really sure, haven't tried it yet) or with a hack, is it advisable to do this with ghosts and thereby reducing my population count?
49  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Updating GunMod's Radiance Lighting System on: 2006 September 18, 22:01:35
If you use this with Numenor's Smarter Lights as updated from Dizzy's, it's actually not that bad.  I've had to take out some of the lights in some rooms because they were too bright.
50  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2006 September 18, 21:56:50
That was a cool link, Dizzy.  Lots of interesting stuff.  Guess what I found on the link for MATY?

MATY has just under 3000 members. It is free and does not require users to sign up prior to downloading.

Shocked

Damn, they got that wrong...  isn't membership fee $39.99 or something like that?  Don't wanna go around letting people think they can just come in here and take stuff any time they want.
