At the top of the window in which you are viewing c:\program files\EA GAMES\ The Sims2 Free Time\TSBin there is a toolbar with a number of options - File, Edit, View, Favourites, Tools and Help. Click on Tools and then Folder Options. Select the View tab and go to the line where it says 'hide known file extensions'. Uncheck that box. Hit ok.

Remember to back up first!
27  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Errors using Education Reward Bookcase - Solvered on: 2008 April 20, 13:32:04
I was getting the error coming up when I either tried to macro-skill or manually directed the sim to skill via the bookcase. I double checked and it was for all skills except mechanics, cooking and cleaning. I hadn't in the past ever used it for logic or creativity so I didn't realise there was a problem with them.

After reading your post I decided it was probably easier to divide and conquer so I should stop procrastinating. I went through my folders dividing them by half and half again until I could get it to not occur, rather than just looking at the usual suspects. This took me so long that after I narrowed it down to couple of sub-folders I decided to just dump them. The folders contained houses that I had d/loaded pre FT so maybe something snuck in there that wasn't a problem until I installed FT.

I do appreciate you looking into it for me though Smiley

I'm having 'too many iteration' errors when I try to get a sim to use the Education reward bookcase for charisma or body. The others seem to be fine. Would someone mind looking at it please and giving me some ideas on how to fix it?

My hacks are Mr P's director's cut & some of TJs. I have checked this arvo and I have the latest for both.

*sigh*  Another forum to register for.  Thanks for the information.

You don't have to register to be able to d/load the hacks which is good.

I don't think this has been mentioned yet  Huh

I can't use the reward bookcase to read a book in different genres or study parenting. I could understand the former as it is not strictly studying but thought it would have been updated for the latter. Has anyone else noticed this?
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 04, 10:49:01
I know it was mentioned already but I too am having issues with the summon aliens never working and debug abductions won't work either which was already mentioned as well I think.

I only had success between 10pm - 2am for summon aliens. Have you tried summoning between those times?
32  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 02, 09:14:10
Another annoyance just struck. Can you examine any of the bugs your sims collect in their bug collection box? My box looks empty even when sims have collected at least half a dozen bugs/butterflies. They also just have the option to view and nothing else.
33  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Macro Control: Macrotastics on: 2008 March 02, 07:34:46
I had the same issue as Jelenedra but I also got the wrong icon appearing - I had the one for pottery. By cancelling, manually directing the sim to sew and then clicking on Macro > Sew I got the right icon and sewing the correct items.
34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 02, 07:29:45
Has anyone else noticed the Bookshelf reward object not working properly? I can get it to work fine with mechanical, cleaning and cooking but not for body for some reason.  Huh

No hacks apart from those in Mr P's FT folder
35  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: BV - errors on leaving vacation community lot on: 2007 September 07, 21:31:44
I checked and double checked everything and the phone hack crept in when I downloaded a lot last weekend.  Embarrassed thankfully it is all working now.

I'll definitely use the clean installer from now on and not the maxis one because this has been so frustrating.
36  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: BV - errors on leaving vacation community lot on: 2007 September 06, 12:05:28
How odd. My version came from the Director's Cut and is the 2007-09-05 06:55:24 version which looks to be the latest. Has it been updated since then?

Thanks in advance
37  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / BV - errors on leaving vacation community lot on: 2007 September 06, 11:41:38
My game is throwing up errors when I click on the phone booth to leave a vacation community lot.I have all expansion packs and am pretty sure the only hacks I currently have in are Mr P's Director's Cut for BV & those updated by TwoJeffs.

I would appreciate it if someone could look at the attached log and offer some suggestions.

Teach the family to eat dog food and then they won't want to eat off plates  Wink
39  Awesomeware / Playsets & Toys / Re: Fruitbowl of Awesomeness: Death To All Nesses Edition on: 2007 July 07, 09:46:47
I'm having problems selling all of the contents of my fruit bowl. It generates an error message as attached. I have tried with both large amounts of veggies and just a small amount but I can't sell either way.

I have the latest version dated 29 Jun 2007 (uploaded 30 Jun 2007)

Decorgal has some beautiful stuff for women that are not too revealing.

I must third the Mermaid Cove recommendation and add in Briher for using mostly Maxis meshes as both have created some gorgeous stuff.

I like Royal Sims for stylish women's clothes.

You can't beat sims2fog for urban wear.

SherrieSims is great for female elder wear but as she is hosted by WickedSims her site is down at the moment (fingers crossed it should be sorted soonish).

SiluettaSims has some stunning formal wear for women.

Try Strawberry Patch for kids stuff as they have a great range.

If I was you, I'd find a site I liked and then see who they are affiliated with or link to - this is a good way to find out more sites in a similar theme.
42  TS2: Burnination / Building Contest of Awesomeness / Re: Twooflower's Sucky Entry '07 on: 2007 July 03, 06:02:39
I turned the girls room into a games room complete with pool table & card table. The spare room became the music room and I put an extra bed in the boys room. I confess I did stick with one external pattern/colour though. It works well although I must confess I tend to put my sims through a routine of bathroom & breakfast prior to leaving the house, so they are not actually upstairs just prior to going to work.

I hate to be the beggar, but has anyone extracted the stuffeths from Life Stories Pets yet? I've been keeping an eye out, but haven't seen anything.

Jordi, make sure you check out Windkeeper's window sets. I know she has done a fantastic job on the Lafenetre & the Helios but I also think she did something with the Storybook ones as well.

EDIT: She has expanded the Storybook set & the Open Me set

Twooflower I really like your entry. I'm trying to recreate it as I don't have Family Fun but I'm having problems with the stairs - how did you do the stairs so you can have space underneath and at the side?
47  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: L&P: Bug Deadpool on: 2007 July 01, 09:39:09
Or you could just go with a tanuki.

Those things are pretty cool. Odds are 80% of the games players will have no idea what they are. The funniest bit about them is when they are depicted in anime as some kind of anthropomorphic character they have balls bigger then they are.

It's even worse when characters in games/anime confuse talking reindeer with them. Poor Chopper.

My next prediction is that it will stuff up pregnancies with sims not being able to give birth once they return from holiday.

How about a fire breather? I still miss my dragons from Makin' Magic.
50  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Third Seasons Patch is out.... on: 2007 June 24, 04:14:46
Has anyone else noticed that when a sim is invited out downtown they now don't even have time to even get in a taxi before the 'why did you stand me up & don't ever call me again' message pops up?

I don't remember it happening before patch 2a & b but I could be wrong  Undecided
