I turn the files from TSR into packages.

How does one go about doing that?
52  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Beta Testing 1.7.9/WA 2.2.8 Problems/Questions/Discussion on: 2009 November 27, 02:34:37
But i still have a problem:

1/ In CAS, i have only 1 trait for my sims: "stupid". All the others have disappeared, the spaces are left blank

2/ still have this problem that I can play my Girl sim but just can't click my boy sim ( to talk to him) and when i play my boy sim and click on my girl sim to talk with her, there's no option but frighten her, or do the moodlet manager things to her.

You have out dated mods causing both of these. The second is likely being caused by the "Ask if single is friendly" mod or some other social mod. The first one is probably related to some trait mod. Try removing all mods but awesomemod and see if it works.

Yay, thanks. Does this also mean genealogy options work with shift+ctrl-click during play? I could click on the different options (ie. adopt, add sibling, marry etc) and they appeared to work, but nothing was ever changed in their family relationships. However, all the available options with the relationships pie menu worked fine, such as make ex, make best friend and so on. Oh and also, could there be options for "add grandparent", "add uncle/aunt"? Or vice versa, add niece/nephew, add grandchildren. Something to extend the family tree just a little further.

As far as I'm aware, those genealogy options are EAxis made and aren't supported by AM so if they are broken, they did it.

Thanks for the help.

But both of them, didn't work. Awesomemod freeze in the loading menu. NoCD mod didn't work.

54  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Beta Testing 1.7.9/WA 2.2.8 Problems/Questions/Discussion on: 2009 November 26, 06:36:01
Ok the frozen motives and adventures not working is fixed, thanks Pescado. Now I can see what this adventure crap is about... as soon as I boot my game back up, it crashed right at 1AM with EA story mode enabled.
55  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Why is everything showing up RED!!!!!!!! on: 2009 November 25, 13:03:58
Okay I downloaded the framework from the beta file. From what I understood it was supposed to go in the root folder for sims 3.  I did notice that the resource.cfg file was also in the gamedate/shared folder. I didn't see any specific instructions on where exactly to place it. I got the gist of it from reading different forums and researching the files. Woud you mind telling me exactly where these files go. I really would appreciate that.

The resource.cfg file goes in your root folder, the other is in a folder in the zip for a reason. The d3dx9_31.dll file is in Game/Bin in the zip, so go to Game then into Bin and drop the file in there. Make sure you remove it from wherever you have it now. Leave the other resource files that are there alone. You shouldn't have a Mods folder so drag that to the root with the resource file. Viola.

57  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Why is everything showing up RED!!!!!!!! on: 2009 November 25, 04:54:44
This is always caused by a FAIL in framework install. Reread the instructions and make sure you placed the files in the correct folders. Oh, and keep your kisses please.
58  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Beta Testing 1.7.9/WA 2.2.8 Problems/Questions/Discussion on: 2009 November 25, 04:41:27
Ok, I have confirmed the adventures not working and the frozen needs I keep going on about are being caused by awesome mod. As soon as I took it out, needs started moving and adventures worked fine. Something I noticed is the adventure person you need to talk to gets their map tag stuck over them even when not in map view with awesome mod in and the frozen motives and queue dropping starts.

Also the computer interaction "Chat with someone" makes the sim jump and reset. Not sure if that's also AM doing or EA.
59  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: WA outside lighting issue on: 2009 November 24, 23:35:08
This definitely needs to be fixed. The outsides of all my houses look like crap now. It's even worse if the house is on a foundation, it only lights the foundation and nothing else. That's not acceptable... Also the bloom is bothering me too but not as much as that is.
60  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: World Adventures Hits the Interwebs on: 2009 November 24, 23:29:11
I have a legit copy of the base game and the arr'd World Adventures (Reloaded version). Everything's fine and working (other than the shitty performance), but I have one question. Should I just keep updating from the launcher, as patches are added? Do I have to remove the crack for updating purposes, and add it back for play purposes?

I suppose that's two questions actually.

You can but likely the crack won't be compatible with the new patch. Also, you have to remove the crack and put the original EXE back or the shitty patch utility will complain. Why not just use awesomemod or the nocd at crazy town?
61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: WA crashes after selecting neighborhood on: 2009 November 24, 23:22:58
There does seem to be issues with loading. When I first loaded my saved Sunset Valley, it took for freaking ever and then when it loaded, the loading music wouldn't shut the hell up and I didn't have any in game audio. So I went back to the main menu and the music continued to hum along. So I tried loading again and half way through loading the music stopped and suddenly I was getting in game sounds that I had clicked from the previous load all at once so it was a jumbled mess. Then the loading music started again and I face palmed myself but it stopped when it finished loading and all was fine.
62  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Beta Testing 1.7.9/WA 2.2.8 Problems/Questions/Discussion on: 2009 November 24, 23:09:57
I'm in France on an opportunity from the business career, "The French Connection", where I need to discuss ventures with the "Local Merchant" but I can't find one called that. I've conversed with all the merchants I can find and none of them have a blaring obvious option to complete that opportunity. There's nothing marked on the map either. Perhaps its tied to the above weirdness. Anyone else?

It's possible that that is one of those quests which doesn't brink up any of the gold interactions like when you have an option to go turn in a quest and instead you just have to do a specific social interaction with a number of sims. One of the quests I've done involves solving riddles and all you do is walk up to a sim and choose the option "Solve a riddle" which doesn't really show up as anything special except for the fact that you don't usually have that interaction, and then after you've talked to a certain number of sims with that interaction the quest just completes itself. Not sure if it's the same thing as you say there's no glaringly obvious option (I would consider a new interaction glaringly obvious), but perhaps your only looking for the highlighted quest buttons and just missed it?

Since it's a base neighborhood quest, I imagine that be the case. However, I tried all the options I could find and didn't see one that seemed to help.

I stayed up all night playing WA last night. I reinstalled TS3 and patched up before installing WA. I played with only store content and AM installed. I really didn't have any problems. The game didn't crash, and besides there being a bit of lag (like a 2 second pause every 10 minutes or so) in the tombs, the game ran smoothly. The first thing I did was grab the Bachelor family and send them to Egypt. I had the two parents and the son each do a different adventure from the board at base camp. The dad's quest required him to report to a certain sim for the first part of the quest. I went to report to the guy, but no matter how many times I tried, nothing would happen. They'd talk a minute, but the quest pop-up never showed and it still told me to report to him. The son had a quest to take a pic of a treasure chest, so I sent him (and since the dad couldn't complete his quest, I sent him along as well) to one of the smaller pyramids. They got through ok, but when the dive wells gave them the "soaked" moodlet, it never went away for either of them. They both dripped water and had the moodlet which said 2 hrs remaining for a full day before I was able to get rid of it by having them change to gym clothes and back to everyday outfits. I then went to turn in the pic of the treasure chest to the sim it told me to, and the same thing happened to the son as did the dad. The pic was never delivered no matter how much I tried. I tried completing the dad's quest again, and the same thing happened. The mom was able to complete a quest, though, before leaving Egypt. Once the vacation ended, I created a new sim and switched to his house.

<snip>
As soon as she started talking, my sim would yawn and fall asleep right on the floor. His energy was full, so I have no idea why he fell asleep. I got him up and tried again, and the same thing happened like 6 times before I got them to friends. This only happened with this particular sim, though.

Your game is doing exactly what I described in my above post. Something is causing adventures not to work and it seems like you have the stuck needs bars as well. Can you direct your sim to use the toilet and have his bladder bar fill? It seems like the bars are still counting down but the UI isn't updating till you "resetsim" and then they still remain stuck because they won't go up or down no matter what you do. Eventually all this wonkyness just crashes the game... or it does for me anyway.

No 1AM crashes here by the way. I have AM story disabled and EA.
63  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Beta Testing 1.7.9/WA 2.2.8 Problems/Questions/Discussion on: 2009 November 24, 13:21:36
Something's really wonky in my game with this in it. I'm on a vacation in France and got the first adventure, to report to the general store manager. I get there and report and they converse but then it just drops out of the queue and nothing happens. I figured that may be a EAxis bug so I canceled the adventure and tried the next one which was some old lady wanting to get drunk off good nectar. I went and found a bottle and offered it to her but got the same result.

In addition to that, this sims need bars are frozen and I run him through reset sim and he zaps back to the base camp and his motives lower to the other sim levels I have with me (theirs seems to be moving) - where they should be, but they freeze again. I can't get any sims with me to make their bars rise even if they are falling on their own. For example, they go to the toilet and pretend they are going to use it, then it just drops out of queue.

Another thing, every sim I meet is starting out with 25 relationship points, are the french just overly friendly or is this more weirdness?

And it just crashed to desktop as soon as the sim rolled some wish tied to the guy I was suppose to report to.

Are you sure the business career opportunity actually needs you to go to France?  Maybe your meant to talk to the "Local Merchant" in your base neighbourhood.

I'm sure. The text reads: "The French Connection - Go to France. ~ Management is looking to invest and grow the company in other locations. You have been asked to travel to Champs Les Sims to meet with the local merchant and discuss possible ventures.".
64  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod is not yet compatible with the expansion Pack on: 2009 November 22, 07:25:32
Pescado, I know you have a lot on your plate but there's a huge new EAxis bug (patch or WA, not sure as I have both) that seems to only be fixable by a core mod. The issue occurs when switching the active household. It causes the UI to just freeze permanently. Map tags aren't drawing when you first load the game either. This is rendering my game unplayable. I closed it because I got fed up.

Here's the exception:

simulating object is null
unable to obtain an interaction object

An element with the same key already exists in the dictionary.

I think I see the code fail on line 2? And yes I do have that story progression mod there but it occurs even without it or any other mods. This is a non awesome mod neighborhood as well. Twallan explained it occurs when someone in the newly selected house has a dead relative with no gravestone. I think he may be correct as the Carpenter-Rhodes house I start in as well as the one I try to switch to has stiffs with no stones, hence why map tags also aren't drawing on load. I tried respawning them but they won't respawn. If you need to recreate it, try switching from a family to the Shallow household in Riverview.
65  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: How to uninstall/reinstall awesome mod? on: 2009 August 08, 09:26:25
Your anti virus is blocking the unlocker from doing anything. This is a duh question but have you tried restarting your pc then messing with the package files normally? That always helps me when windows gets stuck thinking something is using a file.
66  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Poor Body Textures Outside of CAS on: 2009 June 22, 05:57:30
Turning up smooth edges smoothed out the shadows a bit for me but they were still blocky. I only went up to medium admittedly. Both shadows and smooth edges up just slowed the game to a crawl with my crappy card so back down both went.
67  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Alice and Kev Challenge? on: 2009 June 22, 05:42:41
I really need to get around to doing something like this. As surprising as it may sound, I haven't ever worked a sim up from nothing in any of the 3 versions. I always cheat up the funds to an insane amount, build them a huge house and play. They only get jobs if I think about it. I know I've sucked most of the fun out of the game by doing this all these years but I have this obsessive urge to have all the options available at start.
68  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bulldozing turns lots blue on: 2009 June 19, 05:30:14
I've had this issue too. I bulldozed the lot with the school on it in Sunset Valley (got fed up with the town being deserted Mon-Fri) and it left a gaping hole where you could see the sea if you looked closely enough. Moar excellent EA borkage going on there.

I wouldn't say it's sea, it appears to be a missing texture though I'm not certain.

Nope never for me, I tried bulldozing the entire neighborhood the other day (didn't touch the community lots or rabitholes) and I was fine, everything looked as it did before and had no corrupting. Are you using the retail or one of the leaks?

I'm running the razor release which technically is retail.

I'm running the retail version.

I did a test tonight, bulldozing community and residential lots both in Sunset Valley and Riverview. Residential lots bulldoze fine, but all community lots leave blue gaps.

It was residential lots that were turning blue for me. I bulldozed the crappy 'park' in between the Landgrabb and Alto's place and it didn't turn blue. It appears to happen entirely at random. It's story progression in graphic corruption form!
69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Bulldozing turns lots blue on: 2009 June 16, 02:12:33
I haven't seen anyone else report this so perhaps it's just my PC, but do your lots turn blue when you bulldoze them? I slaughtered the blue lot between the Ursine and Wann-Goddard lot and it turned blue. I thought perhaps it was that lot so I killed another one and it was fine but I remembered I had moved that lot from it's original position so perhaps that's why. I tried for a 3rd time on another that hadn't ever been moved and it also turned blue.

Reloading the game doesn't fix it and when I go down into the town it's blue there also until I get right up on it then it goes to normal grass. I did find a way to fix it though. I went into the blue lot in build mode and slapped down some foundation then deleted it, no more blue. Seems like it's deleting something when I bulldoze them and not replacing it until you rebuild on the lot.
70  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 June 15, 10:55:55
Is anyone else finding that saving the game takes about 5-10 actual minutes?

No mine saves in about 30 seconds, though if I make extensive changes to the town, about a minute.

So, I'm a moron and a noob (beat you to it); these are to patch the reloaded version to a more recent one? 1.0.631.00002 for razor and 1.0.631.00107 digital download?
'Cause I was looking for the reloaded to razor patch on piratebay but there were a lot of crashing//failure issues but I would quite like to be able to use store things.

Those are EA patches that seem to have no real purpose, not what you are looking for. You can use store items with the reloaded release by the way.
71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you protect your right to piracy? on: 2009 June 15, 10:33:49
I don't see why anyone would pay EA a cent after the whole Securom thing, I haven't after I installed BV unknowing it'd be the last of my CD ROM. First I noticed the burner died, then it stopped reading discs, now it's permanently crippled and won't even open anymore. All happened within a week of installing so I know what did it. I've left it broke all this time because I don't really need it. I couldn't even put the Sims 3 disk in it if I wanted to, their fault, not mine.

Chain Reaction, if you have nothing useful to contribute, feel free to fuck off and let those more knowledgable than you speak.

Aww, look everyone! It's butt hurt! I just want to hug and pet it and then show it the fucking door! What do you expect when you ask that question you did in a thread titled "The Launcher And You: Why You Should Hate It"? It's "knowledgeable", by the way, but I wouldn't expect you to know how to spell any words pertaining to having an education. Now run along and keep looking for folders that don't exist because you haven't used the thing to create them. Dumbass.

Ask yourself this question: What's the title of this thread?
74  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: The Launcher And You: Why You Should Hate It on: 2009 June 12, 00:18:11

I am very upset.... Cry

Oh Annie, cheer up. The sun will come out tomorrow!

In other news, I got the HP skins and I don't care for them. It makes the sims look even worse. The "imperfections" look like blobs of crap. What's with the big color difference on the forehead of females? I'm going to remove them soon unless I want to pretend my sims forehead got attacked with bleach. I only got them for the hair on the males and it's blurry.
