26  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Late Night bugs & annoyances on: 2010 November 01, 04:23:21
I don't have any major issues, updated my mods and all seems to have went well. I have noticed the jerking and freezing though. It does seem like it's just trying to keep up with too much now.

Don't have the issue of clubs being empty. I went to one club and it had about 9 sims in it and several outside. The problem was they wouldn't move out of the way so by the time my sim got in the door and in the elevator, down and out, the club threw him out because it was closing time. There was two bars and only one had a mixologist. My sim has no celebrity level but the bouncers let him in. It was a dance club so I'm not sure if those are suppose to be easy to get into or not.

I've also noticed it taking forever to get out of the apartment. It literally takes them a sim hour to get out of there. Most of the time the carpool has left when they reach the street. It's worse because the apartment has 3 sets of stairs and sims take ages to use stairs. Walk, stop, think about it, move, repeat.

As usual, EA over did it with the ambient sounds. Not all apartment neighbors are that freaking loud 24/7. And there's no "knock on wall" option to make them STFU.

Something else I noticed: They stopped that obsessive fast forward. If all sims are at work or asleep, it goes to speed 3. If I clicked to make it stop, it wouldn't take no for an answer and keep flying back. Now, it does it once but stops if I say no, just like Sims 2. That was annoying the hell out of me. I like going around the neighborhood while they are asleep and the game lags enough without it trying to hyper speed.

Overall impressed though, it seems somewhat well done.

This is a long shot but have you tried using twallan's no cd mod? It usually works without updating for new EPs and there may be something wrong with your crack. It's available here http://nraas.4shared.com. You could try launching the game with the original EXE and see if it errors as well, then you know it's the crack. Did you also patch each installment you have?

Have you tried using a batch file as been recommended throughout this thread instead of just dropping it on the decrapifier? Many people have found that they have better results that way. I know I stopped having issues after I started using one with my downloads.

Just tried the batch file and it installed without issue, thanks. In the process, I compared the world files and found the launcher strips the XML from the beginning of the world file. It may do other things too. Basically it's impossible to get worlds to work unless they go through the launcher or someone provides the .world file that has been through it.

I tried using the batch files. I wasn't really having any issues but I figured "hey if I can make my game run better why not". And now none of my CC will show up. It's probably something I did but I was wondering if you'd ever run into that problem? I'm probably just going to repackage myself and see if that works.

Meaning it disappears from the houses? If so, you need to run your save games through it too. If you mean it vanishes from the catalog, something else is not right.

Does a .dbc file actually form in DCCache for you? Go to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\DCCache or it's equivalent on your computer. Remove the file that is in that folder, don't delete it because you may be deleting custom that did install. Now install your decrapified files using the launcher. Does a .dbc file form in DCCache after the install is done?

Yes it does but it's only 1KB when it's "successfully installed". I went as far to delete the entire DCCache and DCBackup folders to be sure it wasn't the existing files playing with it then open the launcher and try to install, same result. It extracts the files fine to the DCBackup folder but seems to give up after that.

Attempts to install a vanilla file gives the "you need the latest software" message (I have Fast Lane Stuff and the new patch). Dragging and dropping it on decrapify.exe and retrying gives the same response and no reduce in file size. Dropping it on s3rc.exe reduces it to 90.2MB and gives the "success" message in the launcher but it isn't installed. Redropping it on decrapify.exe after s3rc also produces the success message but it's not installed. Everything worked till that patch ages ago that made store CC disappear when it was in the DDCache folder and it had to be moved to Mods/Packages. Since then, my launcher has not worked.

I noticed the files it puts in DCBackup are exactly the same that Delphy's tool produces so I have no idea what exactly the launcher does that makes the sim and lot names not appear as hashes. Putting the file I renamed to .world in InstalledWorlds of course makes the world not show up. I don't get it.
30  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2010 October 17, 00:43:59

See I think that is my biggest problem. I can't get the barnacle bay.world file. Even though it is showing as installed on the launcher it isn't in the installed worlds folder.
Although I think your solution would fix the problem if i had the world file.

This is happening to me as well. Nothing will install with that launcher, it says it is but it lies. I decrapify a hundred times, the file size reduces but still nothing. I usually get around it by extracting them to packages. However, that doesn't seem to sit well with worlds. I extracted it with delphys tool and took the large file and renamed it from package to world and threw it in Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds. I then took the remaining packages and put them together in one with s3pe. The world showed up and worked fine with the new objects but all the lots and sims have that infamous hash name problem. Not sure what else I can do as my launcher refuses to install anything, period.

FOR THE LOVE OF DOGS USE YOUR PUNCTUATION. PROPERLY.

The comma belongs after 'dogs', not 'punctuation'.

If you're going to shout, shout correctly.

I believe that's called a 'period', not a 'comma'.

If you're going to shout, STFU.

Todays update from SimGuru Hydra.

"* To delete the file: 0x038a68fe04da61a6aa65f939d77fbc37.package, go into your DCBackups (C:\Documents and Settings\your name\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\DCBackup), find the file and delete it."

Unquote.

As usual, instructions found on the BBS are primarily useless as deleting it from this folder does nothing and they don't address that it may be hiding in your Mods folder too.

The install is corrupted. Uninstall and reinstall Ambitions first and see if it fixes the issue. If not, do all the others till it disappears. If it never does, the copy of one of the games is screwed and should be trashed.
33  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 08, 00:53:48
The car problem might be caused by cars being unable to be parked on parking slots. There are 3 next to the fire station and yet my sim still chooses to leave his car on the street. No such problems with bikes.

I don't think so, I've seen NPC's using the parking slots just fine. My first outbreak of derelicts was caused by the work bug causing them to jump out of the car. However, playing with an updated awesomemod where the issue is fixed, something caused the townies to jump out of them again as there's now even a bike stuck in the middle of the road and a crap ton of cars. There was no error log generated so I have no idea what it was. I don't exactly want to nuke them because I want the towns folk to have their own cars but if I have to I will. The car in front of my house keeps changing model which is entirely weird. When I zoom out to map view, it has it's original brand name but zooming in reveals and an entire different brand of car that changes at random intervals. I did notice sometimes the townies reclaim them and sometimes not. The one in front of the house belongs to the family across the street and seems to have been entirely replaced by a different car in their driveway and I am unsure how they managed that unless it was in their inventory.

Are you using NRaas story mod? If so, this sounds like an issue they've had for a while where private activities such as parties, fires, and repomen will alert you as the player but actually mean the other towns-person. I usually ignore it since I never get the money. If, on the other hand, you're not using NRaas at all, I'd call EAxian bullshit.

I am indeed. That's probably being caused by that then.
34  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 07, 14:45:03
I just played for 12 hours straight. No crash, freeze or lag. Tons of CC, mods and AM installed. Only issues I have are the ones that's already been reported. The school is borked, property values, the interior designer career is busted, and derelict vehicles everywhere. There's even one stuck outside my sims house and I've ran towderelicts about 10 times and it only nabs the school bus but the others are left. Not sure how to get rid of those?

Had some weird EAxisness. My sim got an opportunity to do something at the stadium and he works there. He was about to enter the building for work when he got it and I accepted. After entering, the game said he had "left the venue where the event was taking place" and it had failed.

Also, random houses are catching on fire when my sim is not a firefighter. The game then informs me I have been credited X money for my damages when my house isn't even on fire. From what I can tell, I never actually get the money though.
35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Some kind of toilet bug. on: 2010 March 09, 00:32:33
I had this issue, but with beds. Each time they routed to a bed, they'd stand by it and wouldn't respond to any further commands and any sims that were previously asleep before this bizarre glitch hit would not get out of their beds. While obsessively resetting sims, I noticed the game was no longer generating thumbnails of sims, several sims had become invisible and also several sims and even my house would not render into high detail mode despite my camera being on it... then a horrible lag hit and I realized the engine had essentially had a complete meltdown and just exited without saving which fixed the issue obviously. This was after playing for many many hours, which leads to the conclusion that a memory leak caused an explosion or one of the caches had gotten corrupted. I deleted them all to be safe.
36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 March 08, 00:56:59
when i say "everything" i only meant the slider hacks, at least initially. i reread back through the thread though and added a few more files just in case. i kinda figured that it wasn't and suppose there are probably some better files to do that with. no, when i ran the game, it was if i had no packages in there whatsoever. no extra sliders at all. if that's the case, i can just do it with the clothing and etc, but i think on the last attempt i did yesterday, i just took everything i had in the folder and plugged it all in, skins, one hair, a few clothes, and still nothing came out. so i figured i did it all wrong and started searching again. thanks for the reply by the way.

its not so much "lag" that i'm having a problem with. considering the machine i'm running on a little bit of lag isn't unacceptable. but more often than not for the last two weeks, i'll give my sim a new command, or doing something as simple as jumping from one floor to the other, the whole game freezes for usually longer than 5-10 seconds, while all the sounds and animation keep going on. i only have 58 total package files, and while i understand its the number of files more than the size of the files is part of it, i'm pretty much down to the bare essentials- delphy's and jonha's sliders, some robokitty tats and a tramp stamp, one skin with face for male and female, a little bit of clothing (simiversity's "Badman" Vegeta shirt among them lol), and one car, the 2010 mustang shelby from fresh prince creations. i took out the awesome mod, and the only other mods i have are the no into and more happiness mods.

1) Shift key is your friend. Use it.
2) You are over sharing. No one here cares about your tramp stamps.
3) Try merging the clothing as a starter.
4) You'll want to add "PackedFile Mods/Packages/*.dbc" to your Resource file in your games root folder for it to pick the dbc's up and place them in Mods/Packages.
37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Serious error that deleting save and using backup file won't fix? on: 2010 March 08, 00:44:52
Hi. I tried searching for a solution to this problem on here and also on the internet

Is MATY located on Mars then?

Interestingly, however, it doesn't happen every time I try to load. It happens most of the time, but if I try 15-20 times to load my game, one of those times might actually be successful.

Have you tried resaving after you get it to load and see if it continues? You'll want to save a copy of the save in case it corrupts it further doing this.

This was starting to get very annoying, so, I tried to deleted my saved file and use the backup copy as suggested on the internet. That, however, did not work.

What do you mean it did not work? The backup save gives the same response?

I started a new game, but nothing seems to work.

Again, what do you mean it doesn't work? A new game does not load? If so, your game sounds seriously hosed by a patch and needs to be reinstalled.

I am also now having the issue with the town residents passing out on the street, pissing themselves and walking around with green clouds. Is there some sort of system is in place to refresh the townie's motives? Or must they manually acquire CPU cycles to fulfill them as controlled sims do? If so, how does that work if they are in low detail mode and what pushes them to do so? I noticed the inactives typically just stand inside their doorways regardless of their dire motives so I'm unaware how they are suppose to be replenished. This issue is resulting in a stagnate in being able to reproduce for the sims I control as every person I invite over gives me the "I'm not in the mood to do that right now" speech when attempting to woohoo.

If they aren't showing up and Riverview isn't on the new game list, take Riverview.world file from My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\InstalledWorlds and move it to Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds

About your loading screen being screwed, something is wrong with your HELS install, reinstall that.

One of my sims is dying of old age... well, trying to. When she dies, the camera zooms in and she turns to a ghost, everyone runs to sob and then... nothing. She just floats there and is still on the UI but I can't select her, waited for awhile and still nothing. I resetsim her and she changed back into a normal sim and I could control her again. Then she died again the next day and the same thing happened. There's currently 9 sims in this household so I'm wondering if this is a side effect of overstuffed houses? I didn't dare save because who knows what it would corrupt. I searched and found someone else on here mentioning it but there was no solution. Halp?
41  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 February 21, 23:57:10
Currently, my downloads are in the Mods folder in the TS3 folder under My Computer and the resource.cfg is in that same section. Only d3dx90_31.dll is in the HELS folder.

This is probably the problem. I put the framework in the most recent installed pack folder, not all over the place. When I install a new pack, I take everything from the previous one and drag it all over to the new one. It works for me. And by the dll being in the HELS folder, I hope you mean in the HELS/Game/Bin folder, otherwise that's another problem.
42  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Plants Not Growing/Maturing on: 2010 February 21, 23:34:34
I have a bell pepper plant that is stuck in a constant cycle of wilting. I water it and the next day the damn thing is wilted again. It never produces peppers or anything. Come to think of it, none of the plants seem to be doing anything lately. I don't pay enough attention to it really, maybe it's all stuck.  Undecided
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Decrapify vs. manual .dbc files? on: 2010 February 21, 23:25:21
I also had the same issue Marie is having. I dropped them on s3rc.exe only and then tried installing, it said they were installed but it lied. I then tried dropping them on decrapify.exe but it didn't appear to do anything as it returned rather quickly (probably because it was already ran through s3rc?). I then tried installing again and got the same result. I then got fed up and got an old prepatched copy of TS3EP01.exe and renamed it to TS3SP01.exe and threw it in Program Files/HELS/Game/Bin which reverted the launcher back to before they screwed the pirates and it all installed fine. Then I dragged the dbc files to my Mods folder and put my original SP exe back and went on my way.

Sorry, I know necromancy is bad, mmkay, slap me.

What if there is no "English" folder in my locales?  Obviously my game is installed in English (maybe not so obviously)... so this leaves some of my locale folders empty.  I may be replying to this if my game doesn't work...

None of my EPs or SPs have an English folder, just the base game. Heaven knows what it's pulling from but my game works and isn't speaking to me in a foreign language so I'm not going to question it.
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Error codes 12 and 13 along with crashing. on: 2009 December 30, 07:14:44
*Something* cluster fucked my neighborhood but I'm not sure what it was. I had never got an error while saving before but last night I got an error code 12. I had saved several times last night prior to that (with updated hacks and the new patch) and all was fine. I finally managed to get it to save after doing a voodoo chant, yelling and going back and fourth between the map screen and the game.

What's mind boggling here is the save file has jumped 10MB from the previous save and the last time I had saved prior to that was about 45 minutes or less. I didn't add any new houses and no kids were born. Only thing major that happened was one of the townies got married, pregnant and moved into a new house, a lot of sims aged up, and I got some wonky opportunity about repairing a tv that had been placed in my inventory but is not there.

I'm not sure if I should use the backup save or continue on and ignore it.
46  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Does it always take forever for 1.7 games to load? on: 2009 December 06, 03:42:55
I'm assuming I must have gotten lucky because I have noticed my game is now faster than it was before WA, in terms of rerendering. Initial loading times are a bit longer (by about a minute), especially the first one when the files haven't been converted to the new format. I saw that if it's not in your view, it is deleted... that just started with WA. But my game is definitely faster at grabbing models and retexturing everything vs how it was before, almost instant. Base game I was waiting 20 seconds or more for everything to reinitialize. I have very little CC though.
47  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Game Launcher freezes when installing/Game CTD after intro on: 2009 December 04, 05:25:06
Not sure why your stuff isn't showing up (ask about the monkey @ MTS) but I just wanted to add that, for me, in order to use the launcher to install content, I have to take AM out of my mods folder or it freezes as you described. I haven't tried to since installing WA so not sure if that's fixed, doesn't bother me really as I don't use that thing except for EA crap.

Oh look, the noobs who said it was flawed and it didn't work are all managing to get it to work when they READ AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. I'm proud of you all!
What makes your post particularly retarded is that, as 'noobs', we're deliberately avoiding the option for 'OR Framework (Advanced users only)' in the main Awesomemod download thread.  And that, apparently, is where one of the problems is to be found, because the InstallerMonkey isn't installing those extra files that are in the Framework package.

Of course, if you'd taken the time to actually read the thread, you'd have worked that out.  Instead you came by, with nothing to contribute, and took pot shots. Good on you.  You're won the I Have No Useful Skills So I'll Just Point And Laugh Award for today.

Oh please, don't try to belittle me about not reading the thread. If you had read my reply you would have seen I said "the noobs who said it was flawed" so clearly I wasn't speaking to YOU if that is not your case but if the shoe fits, wear it. You're still a noob if you need some silly monkey thing, clearly there would be no issue if you weren't STUPID. Since you were so generous to provide me with an award, in italics even, I officially award you with the You can see my butthurt award. Display it with pride.

Well it's happening again. Same thing and i tried everything i posted before. I'm learning to accept that this core mod is flawed and is not for everyone if it can't even work when other mods can in the same place. I don't think the creator has any interest in fixing this problem. I'm just real tired of fighting to keep it working.

Work's fine for me. The creator isn't going to tailor it so more stupid people such as yourself can make it work. Don't argue about not being stupid, you need a helper monkey for Christs sake.
