You're welcome.

Thank you, as well, KatEnigma, for expanding it.

Yes.  Post FT installed, newly-Permaplat sims appear to function normally.

This is from the Prima Guide, so is not reliable, BUT:

(copied from the boolprop forums)
If you don't have the Prima guide, here's a list of what personality combinations lead to predestined hobbies.
Arts & Crafts (Sloppy/Nice)
Cuisine (Neat/Lazy)
Film & Literature (Shy/Lazy)
Fitness (Outgoing/Active)
Games (Playful/Grouchy)
Music & Dance (Outgoing/Serious)
Nature (Sloppy/Playful)
Science (Neat/Serious)
Sports (Active/Grouchy)
Tinkering (Shy/Nice)

Also, don't spiders, centipedes, and millipedes count as "bugs"?

Hobby preference is based on stat distribution.  I'll see if I can find the list.  I think I saw it on Boolprop.  But, if most of your sims are high <one particular favored trait>, then they will prefer the same hobby.
105  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 06, 12:35:02
I had a thought about the needs thing.  Supposedly needs decay slower or faster based on how the "week" has been, cumulative with previous weeks.  So if a sim finishes a week with it's bar in the green, or worse, the red, then their needs drop faster the next week and weeks, cumulatively with other "week" bonuses or hindrances.  If they finish the "week" with gold or platinum, their needs drop the same or slower.  I have no EVIDENCE, aside from EAxian and Prima Guide claims, but could this be what you are seeing in action?

Thanks, Emma.

Teens are twelve.  Children are 6.  Toddlers are 0.  BFF is for 12.
108  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Obsessive Diary-Writing on: 2008 March 05, 20:26:55
The diary writing itself doesn't bother me, but the diary writing every spare moment does.  A "less diary writing" option would work well for me.  Honestly, if I have the option between autonomous birdwatching and diary writing, I'd prefer the damn diary.  But it should check to see if the sim is sufficiently alone before permitting the action.

I know nothing of this "temp file".  Delete groups.cache.  Doing this forces the game to relook at everything and reform the file.  Groups.cache can be borked easily by changing hacks, all sorts of things.
110  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stupid Question - be gentle on: 2008 March 05, 05:43:20
It's a file in your sims2 folder under My Documents/EA Games.
111  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 05, 05:42:16
Have you tried the work-around?
112  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 05, 05:31:58
It's not just us.  It's on the BBS too.  It appears to be one of those glitches that only affects some simmers.
113  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stupid Question - be gentle on: 2008 March 05, 05:29:19
Dump your temp file, I don't know.  Try emptying your recycle bin, and deleting your groups.cache.  Turning off background tasks is easier.  Background tasks take up memory, and Sims uses a LOT of memory.  So freeing up memory is good.  If you are using windows, hit CTRL-ALT-DEL, and close the processes under your username for anything that is not explorer.exe or taskmanager.exe.  DO NOT TOUCH PROCESSES BY OTHER OWNERS UNLESS YOU ARE COMPUTER-SAVVY AND KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.  You will BREAK something.  Sorry about the all caps, but it is very important.

Are you SURE that you deleted all the SW stuff, and deleted the groups.cache file?  BRY harvests and cleans for me.
115  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Business Controller: Business Runs YOU! on: 2008 March 05, 04:08:58
You must choose MATY BRY or SimWardrobe stuff.  They don't play nice together.
116  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 05, 01:29:12
I zorched my backup hoods in a fit of pique, so I don't know.  Perhaps someone less volatile can try it?
117  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Obsessive Diary-Writing on: 2008 March 05, 01:26:04
I find it interesting that Corylea expects MATY to change to meet her expectations and humor standards.  Can we kill it now?
118  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 05, 00:57:00
Pre-FT permaplat sims appear borked.  No clue how or why, but your #1 is a common problem.
119  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Obsessive Diary-Writing on: 2008 March 05, 00:52:36
Giggling is confined to Retardo Land for a reason.  Humor or not, giggling and your subsequent defense is off-topic and annoying.  Go run along and play.  This is grownup territory.  No 12 allowed.
120  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Obsessive Diary-Writing on: 2008 March 04, 21:37:14
Miss Corylea, I have a wonderful site you might like, called "A Cuppa Joe".  Would you like a link?  They like giggles there.
121  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Community Lot Skilling and Enthusiasm on: 2008 March 04, 16:41:28
I would say "by bork".  Some people have "missing" hobby lots.  My hobby lots function, and one can build enthusiasm.  One doesn't get the "rewards" for enthusiasm, subscription, card, or plaque, until one returns home, though.
122  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So anyone else not so happy about the new lifetime aspiration thing in FT? on: 2008 March 03, 23:04:22
Dizzy has an updated version on the other site.  The Laden Swallow, I think?  In his Spiral-ft1.zip.
123  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Should I be able to walk to community lots? on: 2008 March 03, 22:48:22
Please, Mr/Ms. NikiJohns:  Stick to black colors in your posts.  I have difficulty reading the rainbow colors, and it is proper MATY Etiquette.  Please read the FAQ.  It's currently in the podium, labeled "SPORE TORRENTS IN THIS THREAD".
124  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers Wanted: New College Scholarships on: 2008 March 03, 22:41:52
And much more realistic as well.
125  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Always twins in any pregnant. Help!!! on: 2008 March 03, 19:21:41
Some premade sims and random townies apparently have a token that forces twins in all pregnancies.  Is it just this one couple, and is one of the couple a townie?  There are a few in Pleasantview and the N001 pre-made townies that have it.  If it is happening to all the pregnancies, then this is obviously not the issue.
